Reading this morning that both Arias and JSL want out, that is, of course, if you can believe any posts. I always think there must be a grain of truth in any rumours. Arias has not looked the same player I was expecting, signed as a Cunha replacement he has been disappointing. Hopefully Rob can improve him and everyone else, can’t be much worse 🤞👍

If they have said it then let them go. But I seriously doubt that they have and this is possible clickbait.

15 Nov 2025 14:50:08
Should free up a few places in the squad if unhappy players move on in January, most only joined to be sold on to bigger and better, a proven well trodden path in the past, looks like that path has come to the end of the road and some will be going back the way they came.

13 Nov 2025 22:19:12
Just listened to Rob Edwards first interview. He seemed to be honest and realistic about what needs to be done and admitted that this is the job that he always wanted, hence his reason to leave 'Boro.

His commitment, therefore, can't be questioned but two things sprung to mind:
1) Does he have the authority and gravitas to re-motivate the squad.
2) Has Jeff given him the usual BS and will undermine any progress he does make in Fosun's usual manner.

Obviously, he wants the fans to play their part but I think deep down he knows they/we have been cr*pped on for far too long now. Still, I'm sure he'll get the support but the players need to reciprocate and he can't shy away from benching those that don't.

So yet another new Manager and yet another new chapter in our chequered recent history. Can he do it? I get the impression that it won't be for the lack of trying, so good luck to him, he'll need it.

I just hope that this appointment brings us a period of stability which will be a welcome change from all the knee jerk decisions that have placed us in this position. Avoiding relegation is a big task and realistically unlikely but if Edwards can be given the necessary time and resources he may well be able to build something more sustainable and progressive putting us into a better long term position than we have had to endure for the past few seasons.

Good luck to him and his staff, I feel our immediate future is in good hands.

14 Nov 2025 13:01:50
In reply to Long above, we can only hope that Edwards has the authority and gravitas to re-motivate the squad, given his limited coaching experience. He did a great job with the inferior squad he had at Luton, and they only finished 6 points adrift at 18th place in the PL (clearly an improvement on our current standing!).

I was reading that we had a net spend in the summer window of only £2mil. Plus, the standard of signings was very, very mixed. Maybe VP couldn't get the players he wanted, but the summer debacle cannot be repeated. If it is and we go down, Jeff's head must be on a plate and he must be told that now.

15 Nov 2025 10:36:52
Derry - completely agree re stability but sadly fear that is highly unlikely given the state of the finances that will almost certainly mean major upheaval again this summer, (if not in January), regardless of which division the club finds itself in.
Deep - far from certain the Luton squad was much worse. Obviously they didn't have a J Gomes or Andre but I doubt they had such a tail of totally inadequate and inexperienced/unsuited to the English game, players.
Also who is telling Jeff anything? One can only assume that Fosun have been happy with what he has achieved over the past few years - which obviously has, (other than to a few on here), been far from satisfactory from the team/club's perspective.

From Rob's point of view it is now or never. The next 4 although not as easy as some of the games already lost are some of the easiest left and points have to be obtained. 8+ is surely the target and even that will still leave the club cast adrift with horrible fixtures to come until the new year dawns.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2025 21:54:57
Id take a few denyayer and Alcacer maybe the others over the hill and past it

13 Nov 2025 21:57:32
I see we maybe open to selling john aris back to Brazilian football in jan. Move ain't worked out not suited to premier league football too weak on the ball and not aggressive or skilful enough to go past players here. Add some funds for rob to get hackney in maybe

13 Nov 2025 23:01:30
Hackney is a Boro fan I can't see him coming to us unfortuantly.

14 Nov 2025 00:13:50
Just not sure I agree Simon to be honest buddy, not having a go at you because it's just the standard narritve (these days with new signings). But has he not worked out or has he more realistically ONLY just played in the Prem for the first time with a sum total of 10 games after spending his entire career before playing in South America?! Add to that he's been bought into the WORST team we've had under Fosun for £15m and been told to go out and replace a first class, £62m Prem player (Cunha) over night! We all seem to forget that even Cunha was woefully average for his first 10-25 games at the club and that was after paying top whack and him coming from fairly established Euro teams!
As I've said before Arias was the right signing, but as always with Jeff we signed him at the wrong time! The day Cunha signed a 'new contract' we CLEARLY new he was leaving for £62m come the next window so we SHOULD have gone out and signed Arias that (Jan last year) window but he would have likely cost that little bit more (£2-5m).

But what that extra money could have bought us was a player that was possibly ready to play by now/once Cunha left when we CLEARLY needed him!
Arias has had some moments of brilliance and I suspect is still one of the ONLY technically gifted players we have left in this thread bare squad! What should determine if he stays or not is if Rob can get a tune out of him before we can't afford his wages (if/when relegated)! With the squad in its current state and with a new manager currently desperately searching for a miracle (personally) I wouldn't be in a rush to get rid! Let's be honest finicially we are screwed if/when we go down either way so (for me) I wouldn't be so quick to get rid of a techically gifted player who could yet help light the path to Robs small chance of finding said miracle. Just my take obvs 👍

14 Nov 2025 09:05:20
Just hope Fosun back rob Edwards and he has a say on what he needs fingers crossed looking forward to the palace game need a result COYW

14 Nov 2025 09:16:54
I agree with Arias comment. He has come from a different league and come into a poor and no confidence team. He was never going to be able to replace Cunha like for like and you would struggle to sign a player who could. If we get a few better players around him and start playing better I believe we will see what we have been told about him.

Cunha first season he was pretty useless and then something clicked and he was unstoppable at times. I hope Rob can install confidence and a style of play quickly and get the players battling. Who knows what players we may loan or sign January but what we do know is we will be linked to about 5 players per day and sign 2 or 3.

14 Nov 2025 09:52:48
In fairness Arias has moved continents, as others say walked into a struggling club with all sorts of issues. Regards the EPL comparison with south American leagues, I suspect Brazilian and Columbian leagues aren't exactly mamby pamby.

14 Nov 2025 11:05:34
Arias is a very good player who will flourish in an attacking minded team. Pereira played such defensive football that it stifled his play. Hopefully, Edwards will play a more expansive game and we'll see the likes of Arias, Jackson and Lopez improve.

15 Nov 2025 08:42:32
Agree there goodwhile, I tend to believe that the players we acquired under VP have been stifled in their styles and a change of pattern will give them the freedom to do their stuff.
All the best to Edwsrds I honesty he's got a hell of a job to perform. Not expecting miracles but if players start enjoying the game again it'll.slowly come.

13 Nov 2025 12:23:57
Just read the top 20 rich list of people from the Midlands. Top spot is Lord Bamford who owns JCB. £9.3bn!
Same colours as Wolves. Wonder if he would like to own a football club? Even sponsor the shirt?
It would make him a millionaire! 😂🐺⚽️

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2025 14:03:24
That's handy. It would take a JCB to shift Jeff and Fosun out of Wolves. Come on your lordship!

13 Nov 2025 14:28:17
The "transfer information" on these websites have the same trend, from what I noticed is that a player that is allegedly linked with Wolves will also be linked with: Fulham, Everton, and West Ham typically.

They also cite other clickbait websites, and if you do enough digging, you'll find the info comes from X / Twitter.

In short, complete tripe to garnish clicks. Imagine spending three to four years studying journalism only to make complete lies up?

14 Nov 2025 07:31:49
The free agents listed would be virtually a waste of time. They will be nonwhere near match fit.
There is a reason they're free - nobody wants them.

13 Nov 2025 10:00:57
I've read some crap who Wolves might sign but Keith Wyness of football insider has said in Jan Wolves are keen on Fullkrug from West Ham. Which planet is this guy living on Wolves have 2 strikers better than him I would give Arokodare a chance.

don't get me wrong I like Larsen but at the moment is about as much use my arse when i'm constapated.

DMac - Football Insider is a total waste of space!
Check them out and who they have to offer 'exclusives'.
Ignore what they say and move on!

Why Liverpool Should Revisit The Diamond Formation

Boro fans really are quite vile was hoping they'd go up this season but with how they've been behaving I hope they rot.
I get they're angry but what they're doing and BBC Tees is borderline harrassment of Edwards now and I hope he takes legal action and Fosun back him.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Nov 2025 07:55:06
I havnt seen or heard anything in all fairness, but I would imagine we'd be abit p****day off if Southgate had come to us a few months ago, got us where Edwards had gone them in the championship and then he'd jacked of his own accord and gone back to Boro Rated.

I get what you're saying, but I can understand their anger.
Anything OTT, as it were, towards Edwards himself is obviously there for legal scrutiny and I would hope Fosun would support him in any claim that may or may not result.

13 Nov 2025 08:17:49
I have a funny feeling we get boro in the cup, should make for an interesting game. Also hope we sign Hayden in January, just to annoy them some more.

13 Nov 2025 09:00:46
That wouldn't surprise me either goatmark, as long at its at home?. Been interested in Hayden for some time, if we got him in Jan that would make a cup tie interesting.

13 Nov 2025 13:05:40
Whilst I can understand the upset but if you give a manager a contract with a release clause and that is met, why all the faux indignation. It's business and that despite what fans think its what football is.

13 Nov 2025 13:50:35
I think Wolves are the last club that Middlesboro will do business with for Hayden. A few clubs are keen on him so we will be back of the queue.

13 Nov 2025 16:33:12
Hayden is a local Redcar boy. His loyalty is to 'Boro, just as Edwards' loyalty is to Wolves. No way that Hayden can sign for us now. I wouldn't want to put hi through an onslaught of hatred from 'Boro and the usual suspects.

12 Nov 2025 15:13:40
I see Jeff Shi saying Wolves need to refresh the whole club if that's the case why doesn't he leave that would be the biggest refresh.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Nov 2025 16:07:03
Absolutely dmac it would certainly be refreshing to hear he’s been relieved of his duties or resigned

12 Nov 2025 15:13:05
I have never heard such nasty sangtimonius nonsense than from holier than thou Simon Jordan on Talk Sport today. As I understand a follow up to previous damning comments towards Rob Edwards and our club. Get in the real world Simon! I’ve totally lost respect for this hypocrite and everything he says!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Nov 2025 15:56:54
I never had respect for Simon Jordan in the first place, the guy is a weapons grade bell end! He's also someone that only stays relevant by saying shocking/offensive nonsense, which is precisely why he's jumped on the band wagon. He's a troll and the best way to get rid of trolls is to just completely ignore them! 👍

12 Nov 2025 16:04:51
I know 47 the same Simon Jordan that sacked how many managers? It’s because he’s besties with Steve Gibson

12 Nov 2025 17:08:20
It is harassment now from Talksport, I hope Fosun let Edwards use their legal team and they wipe the floor with Talksport.

12 Nov 2025 19:15:08
I agree RKO his character assassination of Rob Edwards is outrageous!

13 Nov 2025 07:26:32
Boro fans hate us, Simon Jordan hates us. Do we care. Do we f**K!
I really don't get it at all as it happens all the time in football. There really is little or no loyalty in football these days.

14 Nov 2025 08:38:47
Jordan is spoon fed what to say for clicks, views listeners etc.
If Boro had lost every game this season and sacked RE would he be as bothered about loyalty then.
