Jimenez can play against Watford, tbh I was looking forward to seeing how Silva has developed. Still, it’s better to have our best players available at least.

1.) 10 Sep 2021 15:17:58
I would either play Jimenez and Fabio up top together for this one or make Jimenez sub and bring him on for the last half hour if we haven’t scored.

2.) 10 Sep 2021 15:53:31
No Hwang Hee-chan?

3.) 10 Sep 2021 18:46:13
It’s rare for a new signing to walk straight into the team Wombournron. Hwang will most likely be on the bench I would have thought?

4.) 10 Sep 2021 19:37:59
Correct but you did not give him a mention.
Jimenez to start and when we are two up bring him on, let's have a looksee. Lol.

So this was the general consensus before the season started. Patricio leaving is a done deal, Neves and Moutinho to follow. Other likely exits Saiss and Boly also obviously Traore will leave. And not to mention Coady going to Spurs. Podence also going to Spurs and Neto leaving when he’s recovered. Mgs isn’t good enough so get rid also Dendonker isn’t good enough and neither is Silva. just wondering how many of those certain departures happened? Also wondering why everyone’s up in arms about mgw, no one on here rates him so what’s the problem. So we managed to keep hold of all those players except Rui and we’ve signed about 5 more first teamers. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get more, but as some have said why get someone who doesn’t want to play for us and why pay vastly over asking price. Also we’ve played 3 games against top sides and conceded 3 goals, hardly a leaky defence. Arsenal spent £50mil on one defender and have conceded 9 goals in 3 games.

1.) 01 Sep 2021 10:36:10
Great post Goat. I think we're all frustrated about not getting a couple of deals done, but we've held on to so many players as well as a few additions so it's far from disastrous.

I get the feeling that MGW was going to be used further up the pitch than in central midfield and with Hee Chan signing his game time would likely be more limited.

There's no point paying over the odds for players who won't add much, which is exactly what Arsenal have done.

There are still plenty of teams worse off than us and we may get one or two in January.

My only concern is being light in midfield, but having said that Saiss and Coady can play in midfield, and hopefully we may get to see Jordao and Luke Cundle get some more minutes.

2.) 01 Sep 2021 10:44:53
Speaks volumes for the quality of squad Fosun have assembled for their Head Coach to work with, it’s said every player has his price and Wolves made it quite clear they would consider enquiries for anyone, the fact that there was only a passing interest in two of our players is proof they only sign players no other Clubs want.

3.) 01 Sep 2021 10:57:03
Oxley, you could say the same thing about almost every side outside the top 6 of the Premier League. There are players in the squad mostly not good enough to step up to the top 6, too good for the championship and would gain nothing by side stepping to another club at the same level. If we had more than 2 players capable of making the top 6 teams the chances are we'd be finishing higher up the table, but those calibre of player cost money the club doesn't have and usually want European football from the off.

4.) 01 Sep 2021 11:46:42
Like it Goatmark, someone with a bit of common sense, would have liked Sanchez through the door to be honest but the guy ain’t fit so it is what it is, if he wants to come which we are to be believed he duz then maybe January is an option.

5.) 01 Sep 2021 20:45:50
I rate Gibbs White, not sure why you've decided I don't exactly?! Also I thought him and Otasowie were exactly the sort of young prospects that we bought a manager renowned for youth development in to work with? 3 apps for Gibbs this season and a goal already didn't seem like a bad start to me (better than most the squad in fact) I think the bigger question here is goat do the club actually rate Gibbs White?! We had an attempt to sign a CM fall through and still they sent him out, surely he's better than no extra option?! Eitherway he'll be 22 in Jan so it needs to happen pretty soon or he's missed the boat!

6.) 01 Sep 2021 22:46:15
I said the general consensus bullysboy not every post is a critique on you and I don’t assume to know your opinions on everything. As for Gibbs White I thought he has been playing as a forward not CM so perhaps with the new arrival he wasn’t going to get much game time. I think the club do rate him hence the new contract but realise he needs game time to improve and sounds like they are giving him more time than you, all this talk of missing the boat lol.

7.) 02 Sep 2021 01:29:51
I know you weren't taking to me, I was just pointing out your presumption 👍
He's played as an inside forward but as he's filling out could definitely have played a midfield role from the bench, he played left wing for England. But the point is at 22 if he's going to make it he should be ready, why not give him that chance to play a squad role when we are light anyway?!

If he's good enough for a new contract shouldn't he be good enough for the squad place at 22? On that note why sell Otasowie when we NEEDED a physical cm for cover?! Just seems like some of the choices with our youth team have been poor ones. Just ask Goncalves or Jordao 😬.

21 Aug 2021 23:35:49
I don’t know if annoying else reads the football gossip page on the bbc but it seems to me the day before/ of our game there’s always a story about one or more of our players leaving. Does anyone else think this is just to unsettle the team or the fans before we play. Dirty tactics if it is.

1.) 22 Aug 2021 09:30:48
Too many variables for that to be true.

2.) 22 Aug 2021 10:20:44
All the media report on is London Manchester and Liverpool or names that might be going in or out. It'll be nuno returns with spurs, kane playing/ not playing. If we win spurs will be tired and neves traore searched by the respective city clubs. I hope it fires the lads up, that adama and traore really show what's to offer and we beat the 'tired' 'underperforming' etc etc spurs. After of course welcoming back Nuno with a rousing acknowledgement of what he did for us. COYW.

3.) 22 Aug 2021 10:34:45
Jimenez hatrick today
4-1 to the mighty wolves,
Neves with a screamer the other.
Kane to be used as kit man 😂😂.

4.) 22 Aug 2021 16:20:56
Yep Goat I think your bang on there! United did it to Neves two days before playing them and now some absolute tripe about Traore going to Spurs on loan a day before, all just cobblers!

18 Aug 2021 09:58:39
Just reading about Jimenez on the bbc pages, I have to say watching it happen I felt sad for him and didn’t expect him to be back playing again. And now I’m equally happy that he’s continuing his career and hope he makes up for lost time.

On another note I see Stoke are second in the championship, perhaps our pre season result against them wasn’t so bad after all.

1.) 18 Aug 2021 11:10:10
Exactly Goatmark, Stoke are no mugs. I came across a couple of Foxes fans last night. They reckoned they were lucky not to lose against us. They have Europe this season and they reckon it might hurt them in the PL.

05 Aug 2021 19:29:20
Just wondering does anyone know how many top quality, premier league experienced signings Leicester made the year they won the league? The previous season they only just survived relegation. So they must have signed like 10 amazing players that year as the existing team was clearly not good enough for the premier, because we all know players can't improve like the current wolves squad not being good enough. I'd be interested to know, can't be as simple as getting a new manager or change of mindset can it?

1.) 05 Aug 2021 19:51:46
They sold players for £££ and boughty more like Madison I think they will do well again this season.

2.) 05 Aug 2021 20:12:05
Goatmark1 after a quick Google a rough guesstimate suggests they did indeed acquire 10 new faces in the prem winning season, 6 players in july/ August and 4 January spending something in the region of 27million. Outgoing players brought in about 7 mill. Their average attendance around 31500. Its true to say that prem experience dosnt seem to have been there and they won it on merit. When you look at our squad with past experience (injuries clear and without departures) we've little to be over nervous about. A couple more additions (dunk and Pallion (? ) ), and a pack unity with new 'ideas ' and I'm optimistic we'll be OK after a rocky start. We won't do a 5000/ 1 Leicester job but we'll be OK. COYW.

3.) 06 Aug 2021 08:32:46
Dunk a no-go, given the sale of Ben White. Will need to look elsewhere for a centre back. Kurt Zouma would be my first choice but looks like he wants to stay in London or go abroad. Issa Diop of West Ham or Yerry Mina would be my back-up choices.

4.) 06 Aug 2021 16:24:14
Thanks Abbeywolf, they must have bought well for only 27mill outgoing, I realise prices have changed a bit since then. Hope we can get some similar bargains and unfound gems.

5.) 06 Aug 2021 16:55:49
Kanye and Mahrez were brought in prior to title winning season. These two alone would be positive additions to any squad. Also adapted their style of play to make the most of Vardy’s pace and goal scoring instinct.

6.) 06 Aug 2021 17:12:54
“I ain’t saying she’s an old gold digger”.?

7.) 06 Aug 2021 18:30:47
Apparently there was an approach made for Zouma about 3 weeks ago, but he turned us down. Unfortunately even if we have the resource to bring in a particular player and negotiate a deal, not every player wants to come to Wolves which adds to the difficulty of brining in required quality and experience.

There are hidden gems out there though both in the lower leagues in England and abroad and hopefully we'll find a few just like we did with Neto.

8.) 06 Aug 2021 18:33:11
The signings can be found on transfermarkt for that season.

Kante looks as if he was top of the list.

What about Mosquera? He’s a cb that we’ve signed. I’m sure if fosun could have got someone in sooner they would have. And we have signed 6 players so far this summer along with a few more u23’s.

Glad to see your post Jas and as always shedding some light on stats/ comments that otherwise appear negative. I’m looking forward to seeing our new arrival play.

My personal opinion is that Coady won’t go and the same for Neves, doesn’t feel like players with recent articles/ comments on the Wolves rumours page saying things like how excited they are to be playing with fans at molineux again would then leave the club a few weeks later. I could be wrong of course but it doesn’t make sense from a club point of view telling fans one thing then doing another.

I’m glad to see mgw getting some game time, doubt he would have had as much with us. If he had stayed fit the season he was with Swansea I think things would be different. Best thing for him IMO, get a full season at a lower level to gain confidence.

I think the aim would be to extend his contract so we get something for him when we sell, I don’t think we are in a position to compete with the likes of Liverpool’s wage Bill just yet.

NigelT I’m confused, you say Jas is right but then say we didn’t want to pay that much for botman, Jas didn’t say anything about price he said Lille prevented the move. Did the prevent it by putting the price up?

Also your comment about the stadium isn’t fair on fosun, it’s the temporary stand which is the responsibility of another company. You make it sound like it’s fosuns fault it’s not fit for purpose. And they have been fairly clear about developing the ground in the future, C.V. and brexit might have changed that but we can only hope not. I’d like to think they are not taking us fans for a ride. well a bad ride at least, I’m all up for another cup run ;)

Alright Bullysboy mate I realise you didn’t say all wolves fans I was just airing my excitement for the season ahead as I believe we will do well. Also I found your post a bit misleading so I was showing an altering opinion. Saying we are one of the lowest net spenders for 1 transfer window means nothing, Liverpool are lower than us over 5 years and I’m sure they expect European football so your comments about Brighton outspending us are irrelevant. This idea that it’s all about how much you spend isn’t true, it’s how you spend it and make it and IMO fosun are spending wisely. I get what your saying about season tickets also but from a business viewpoint if we have the demand (10k waiting list) then why not put up prices, I’m sure if we had a stadium as big as Spurs our prices would be less in order to fill the ground (also I’m hoping it stops people buying a season ticket to just go to the “big” matches, and leaving empty seats at other games) . I’m not sure how ffp works but I’m guessing the more income you have the more you can spend. Don’t get me wrong I’d prefer cheaper tickets and more money spent but as you said it takes time to build especially with ffp.
