To top it all cunha as signed util 2029 with a release clause.

Abbeywolf

1.) 01 Feb 2025 23:50:23
Great news, to be honest I have no problem with release clauses as long as they are future proof/sensible. I actually think it can help a clubs negotiating position, as in that's the price take it or leave it. It's how Villa robbed City of £100m for Grealish ?

Only 2 game ban for cunha, £80000 fine, will give him chance to recover from his niggles hamstring. Now we just need to keep him at the club.

Abbeywolf

1.) 31 Dec 2024 13:30:08
Makes me think more that something was said by that Ipswich staff to Cunha, be interesting to see if so what punishment Ipswich will get.
As rumours are he made a racial comment to Cunha and Alt Nori.

2.) 31 Dec 2024 16:28:33
Rated, I suspect that and your comment is the first that I've read or seen suggesting something along those lines. These kind of incidents don't just blow up out of nothing unless there is history between both parties. I'm unaware of any history, so I'm left thinking a racist or very personal remark is the possible likely reason.

3.) 31 Dec 2024 19:19:13
Let's be honest it takes something to prompt that reaction of cunha, he can't be the only guilty party. If it was a racist remark ipswich should be made an example of.

4.) 01 Jan 2025 14:20:22
Just be patient for the full report to be released, folks.

5.) 03 Jan 2025 07:50:03
According to the reporter in the Sun today Cunha should have had a 6 game ban and he’s used the example of someone attacking an emergency services officer and getting away with it.
Firstly, reporters should highlight which team they support as there’s usually some reason for their bias opinions and secondly, it’s The Sun so….

I too think something was said by the security guard to get that sort of reaction from Cunha. Hope it all comes out in the wash and Ipswich make an apology!

Deal agreed with Vitor according to Sky. welcome to the wolves Vitor.

Abbeywolf

17 Dec 2024 07:43:50
So, according to 'talking wolves' vitor is to be on a contract until July 2026. So whatever happens at the end of this season he's going to have a crack at a full 25/26 programme in what ever league we are in.
Obviously that'll afford him to build his own team in the summer, maybe influence players in January if he does get announced as our new gaffer tomorrow.
This changes my view for the future football wise, but I've still an underlying worry over fosuns commitment and where that may takes us.

Abbeywolf

1.) 17 Dec 2024 08:41:21
I live in hope but worry that if we are relegated the squad will be stripped of our quality players and will leave the new manager scrapping it out in the Championship with no experience of what is required in what is probably the most difficult league to learn about the rigours of English football.

2.) 17 Dec 2024 08:43:58
All we can do Abbey is travel optimistically.and hope for better things.

3.) 17 Dec 2024 09:31:50
Well my fingers are tightly crossed Rugeley. Just need some good news and a performance to get us going again mate.

05 Dec 2024 12:58:01
So conflicting reports say GON remains for WH game, others saying we've offered job to Potter but that Potter wants wH job when lopetegui leaves.
GON due to do prematch interview Friday as normal. Everything's still open to the rumour mill.

Abbeywolf

1.) 05 Dec 2024 15:45:14
Let's hope that West Ham win and Loppie keeps his job.

2.) 05 Dec 2024 15:48:22
Abbey, see my post above.

3.) 05 Dec 2024 16:01:18
Well if we are Potters 2nd choice, tell him to do one. We don't need people who ain't committed to the cause.

4.) 05 Dec 2024 16:51:27
The West Ham boss is not a big fan of Potter. They may look elsewhere.

Just seen Vardey's emotional farewell to Leicester fans, complete with mournful backing music.
I trust the molineux faithful will bid him farewell with a round of applause, an arousing 3 cheers for being a jolly good fellow and give generously to the half time collection and signing the card.

Really shows the quality and dignity of Neves sitting in the empty Mol sincerely bidding us farewell.

Abbeywolf

{Ed001's Note - I would think you were just being cynical, but Vardy is a prick, let's be honest. Good riddance. Neves, on the other hand, was a loss to the Prem when he left.}

1.) 25 Apr 2025 10:52:22
As much as we seem to dislike Vardy, who amongst us would rather have signed him from non-league when Mad Mick wanted to, for just £1mil? Jez Moxey apparently vetoed that signing! Vardy went on to turn down a move to Arsenal for mega money. Massive mistake by Wolves not to sign him.

2.) 25 Apr 2025 10:35:18
Indeed Ed, but he was never shy at winding up the away end.

{Ed001's Note - he is just generally not a nice person. How many managers have they gone through because of him? He was always happy to stab them in the back, even Ranieri. Nasty piece of work.}

3.) 25 Apr 2025 11:34:13
Ed001, that's hilarious, why don't you tell us what you really think.? Mind you Deep has a point, tbf.

{Ed001's Note - I can't say what I really think, that was the polite version!}

4.) 25 Apr 2025 13:03:10
I was considering that deepthroat but I reckon he may have done more damage than good over time. We may have dodged one.
His pathetic 'howling' gesture against us summed him up, let's hope we give him the foxes brush treatment tomorrow.

5.) 25 Apr 2025 13:07:35
He needs a big money last move to Saudi or the US to pay her legal fees!

6.) 25 Apr 2025 13:31:36
Nice one Arddunby.Think I can guess what might be sung tomorrow and it won't be overly complimentary!

7.) 25 Apr 2025 13:37:56
He was always happy to stab them in the back, Ed001? He wasn't above stabbing them in the front either! Let's howl him off the pitch tomorrow.

{Ed001's Note - very true.}

Not the prettiest, not always comfortable but what a win, what a difference VP has made, fantastic strike from sarabia.
Agbadu, santi and especially toti wonderful today, Andre and Gomes non stop.
My weekend so much better. Thanks lads. Safe for another year!

Abbeywolf

13 Apr 2025 14:59:18
Well we maintaining things at the mo. 2 up, could maybe have been 3. Ipswich 2 up at Chelsea. Liverpool beating WH.
Spurs not posing too much of a threat but always posing a risk when we keep turning back. Which is what we've been doing. Gomez and Andre holding midfield.
It'll be interesting the second half how posc changes personnel, bellegarde is a loss and I'm not sure sarabia was the man to replace him so early.
Can we maintain control? Can we provide the impetus to get another? Well cunha will come on at some point soon, COYW

Nervy game but palace did a job for us, let's capitalise on it tonight, I'm going 3-2, with a lot of luck and determination. Hope the home support makes it a cauldron. COYW

Abbeywolf

1.) 08 Mar 2025 17:52:04
Let's hope so Abbey. We really need to start putting some distance between us and the bottom 3.

2.) 08 Mar 2025 19:49:10
Last year at this time we beat Fulham 2-1. It was a score my Dad predicted.
Sadly, he died before the game played so an emotional time anyway for me.
I’d like to think he would predict the same score for us so going for that tonight.
COYW ??

05 Mar 2025 19:19:10
Well, we're being invited to choose the colour and to give suggestions for the 150th anniversary shirt for sudo to make.
I fancy the 1950s colour with a 1924 black chevron down from the shoulders and modern club badge.
A nod to the past, our decade of success and to date.
Any other ideas?

Abbeywolf

1.) 06 Mar 2025 08:54:08
I agree Abbeywolf, 1950s were one of the best decades for us. I would like to see the colour from that period.
I’ve always preferred a black collar but do like the simple black round neck. I also think we look more of an aggressive side with black arms (don’t know why!).
We’ve never had black and old gold stripes in modern times so that would be unusual.
Plenty to think of!

2.) 06 Mar 2025 09:49:06
You beat me to it with the stripes BoS the 1908 FA Cup Final Shirt is a classic and one of my all time favourites.

A fifty's themed shirt colour would make sense, however.

3.) 06 Mar 2025 11:28:12
Have a look at historicalkits.co.uk and take your pick 47-54 or 56-62 for me.

4.) 06 Mar 2025 12:21:52
Any shade of lld-gold rather than the current burnt-lemon!

5.) 06 Mar 2025 15:15:53
1900 shirt, wide stripes. But could also live with 1950’s or 70’s shirt colour. But I’d love to see a return of the gold and black hooped socks, they was the best socks ever

6.) 06 Mar 2025 23:44:11
The shirt we wore in the days of Geoff Thomas was a good un.

7.) 07 Mar 2025 11:12:58
Agree lostcity the goodyear ones are some of my favorites, particularly the nutmeg ones for some reason.

Yep I'm swallowing my words, cunhas signed, and we've got a couple coming in, I honestly couldn't see us doing anything, Fosun remain very quiet tho. Let's hope this gives us the impetus we need.

He didn't want to come to us wandering and reneged on the agreement when spurs came in with permanent deal. I reckon we got out of one their, he'd have been uncommitted.

Most probably financial Rugeley, Fosun most prob have a contract that won't tie them to big compo deal and VP only wants the prem manager on his CV, we're a stepping stone. Who knows how or why this mess as been allowed to come about. Maybe there is or should be big survival payments, but he won't be getting that if we lose again tonight. Lord knows what's going on. I said before I hope I'm wrong, I hope Fosun surprise us with two or three solid signings come Monday, just can't see it.

Enjoyed the game and controversies, so nice to see a genuine team spirit playing to their max for the win.
Great point regarding euro commitments Deepthroat, hadn't thought of that aspect.
I fear it'll be a drawn out legal thing longmynd, let it go on until its been forgotten and a slap onthe wrist with 6 points and an affordable fine or something, money talks at all levels, which brings me to the interviewers just after whistle thrusting mics in players faces and asking inane questions when players just want to celebrate the biggest moment, sod anything, the tv rules the game now from ko times to refs whistles, to intrusion of players/fans memories.
Well done palace keep the celebrations going till Tues night.

My concern Banksy is that it could all go very t*ts up, a lot of honesty and loyalty could be tested, not least with VP should a lucrative job become available just up the M6.

Well bothe the spurs and man u results went form us last night league position wise. Both teams were less than impressive, maybe expectedly so, but the final on Tuesday will be interesting.
See Radcliffe as lost millions against his investment in utd, will they still risk the money on Cunha if they don't win?
As far as our matches I'd be tempted to leave him out, it's hard after the goals he's brought us but he'll not be a 'wolf' next season and others could be blooded in. A farewell cameo at the end v Brentford could be given, a last match appearance that was denied Raul. Then, if it was OK to be that disrespectful to jiminez why be any more generous for Cunha who behavior cost us and shaned us against Bournemouth

I'm sure there's going to bit a lot of developments in the pipeline shada, how will Shi commit? How will VP react? Will those two issues effect sales and retentions? How do any of us guess given Sh's statements in the past. Are we still to support a club who won't be expected to win anything as he said?

Fosun, and Jeff, need to offer some
Realistic indication of their commitment to VP, and the hopes for next year, I'm not talking bank balancing here. What funds will be made available what contracts can be offered to keep decent players.

Until that's clear it's impossible to guess what we'll need.
