According to X Sasa going out on loan. Shame really but if we keep JSL and the new striker we have plenty of height in the team. My view on Sasa is he at least shows enthusiasm when he plays unlike Hwang who just seems to go through the motions these days.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 31 Aug 2025 19:26:38
Hwang seemed like he was trying his hardest he’s just too lightweight and gets pushed around wayyy too easily. However he’s our best finisher but can’t do much else, I’d rather seem him used as on of the inside forwards off the bench. Sasa tried hard as well and I quite like him but tolu is a similar profile so it makes sense to send him out on loan.

2.) 31 Aug 2025 21:30:58
If he's the best finisher, we are 100% going down. He averages a goal every 5 games.

Marshall Munetsi and Nasser Djiga have both arrived in Paris and began their #Wolves medicals. ? ?

Lemina's gone to Galatasary. Not sure of fee.

2.5mil I've seen reported.

09 Aug 2024 20:43:36
E&S reporting H Bueno going on Loan to Feyornord (sorry about the spelling). I think Bueno is great, but this must mean that we're keeping RAN for at least another season.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 10 Aug 2024 07:40:42
I agree BW1 but am more concerned about this development than the sale of Neto (which we all sensed was happening in this window).
Now we have lost for 2024/25, Neto, Kilman and Bueno. They are all left-footed and all possess excellent left-footed pass and cross skills.
If RAN gets injured (currently) he will be covered by a right-footer. It feels to me that we need to add a left-sided player with a sweet left-foot to restore some balance to the squad.

2.) 10 Aug 2024 09:58:33
Who is now the back up LB?
Toti? Surely not Doherty?
Transfer window is still open but after losing 2 players yesterday we now have lots to do.
We have bought 1 player who should, (R. Gomes although potentially a major downgrade on Neto?), start but lost 2.
When it comes to depth as well we have sold 3 first team squad members and bought 3, (Doyle was alrady here).
It all looked so good on Thursday just a new starting CB and maybe if greedy a back up CB and GK.
Now you have to add a back up LB and potentially a starting WF?
When ever we start to build a good team we make a major error and cut our own legs off!
Just imagine if we hadn't paid to get rid of Jota, (the swap for Fabio and Hoever costs us millions pa!).
Jota, Cunha, Neto
Mario, Gomes
RAN, Toti, Dawson Yerson (or Kilman) Semedo
Sa
Is not a Europa side but a Champions league one!
Of course if the club was run properly from a finanical point fo view ( or we hadnt bought Guedes!) we could still have Neves as well!
If and but the two greatest players to play the game.
But self inflicted.
Only two/three players different from what we can still put out this year but our best 2 and both at the sharp end where the game is won and lost!

3.) 10 Aug 2024 11:52:26
All valid points TFIOG but maybe things might look a little different after 2 or 3 purchases in the next few weeks? I just hope the replacements aren’t all youngsters and we fall into the Southampton trap of 2 years ago.
Clearly the powers that be have looked at the Brighton model and thought ‘let's get a bit of that’. The difference for me is that I suspect we have gentlemen’s agreements to let certain players leave in certain windows and the buying clubs benefit from having the likes of Mendes advertising the fact rather than have our players being head-hunted at highest prices.
My feeling is that RAN and J Gomes will be offered out next summer and they’ll be aware of the fact and push for it eventually. Looking at the prices we are consistently receiving for some very good players, you have to worry that we’re a bit lacking in financial and commercial acumen.
Also has GON been rewarded with a pay rise and contract extension for a good 12 months’ work or because he is willing to work happily under the constraints of consistently losing his finest tools?

4.) 11 Aug 2024 13:59:21
NES - great to see you posting again. Don't disagree with anything you say, certainly with respect to not buying exclusively unproven kids from overseas - for every Neto there is a Fabio.
But will we buy any proven experieinced Prem players? I very much doubt it nor probably can we afford to do so, (often), as other clubs tend not to sell cheaply.
However if Toney is really available for £30m (?) we should have bought him yesterday!
With Cunha injured, (how long for?), I don't see where the goals come from - fear Hwang was a never to be repeated purple patch, Larsen looks well off the pace and none of the others, Guedes, Sarabia, Fabio, Sasa, Podence or Gomes R have a track record of scoring regularly in the Prem.
And at the back if we think Doherty, (until Semedo returns at least), Yerson and Toti are 3 of a Prem back 4 we are deluuded. (Surely given our weakness at CB we have to play 5 at the back and pray that Dawson recovers - or perhaps buy a new CB of his ilk!)
We are seemingly expecting Yerson and Gomes R to do a lot of heavy lifting this season
With 5 days to go to the start of the season it is v hard not to acknowledge that the squad that finished 14th last year is now no deeper but a lot weaker! Note as well that we only finished that high as Neto, (and to some extent Dawson), carried the team for a few months - see last year's results for the veracity of that statement.
I, unlike the bookies and many other "experts", don't actually think we are likely to down as we still have a number of high quality players albeit the squad is too small and dreadfully unbalanced - shock horror!
But we have hugely increased that risk and the £50m "excess" cash that we now have following the sale of Neto is lost in a few weeks in the Championship.
I hope we aren't penny wise pound foolish!

5.) 11 Aug 2024 15:57:29
In 5 seasons Neto made 111 appearances for us 51 of those came in the last 3 seasons, I can see the clubs thinking but would have rather left the sale until January to see if Gomes establishes himself first.

6.) 18 Aug 2024 11:57:34
Agree with many points above, running cost of club is huge, and yes we have the money from prem league
But it doesn’t cover it all and buying younger gifted talent before the rest, and developing them to full potential and making sales in profit is a huge part of the gamble. The issue with these players is when it doesn’t click and there value actually goes down and the huge wages they on whilst with have them drifting the wilderness is one of the biggest black holes in our finances. Ref (Fabio Silva) we lost a fortune when you take is wages into account and that’s just one player.

You want to make a positive change and impact for future and build a module to sustainably compete on top half of the league, then the ground needs to be redeveloped to a larger capacity and the football attractive. That is the foundation on which success and profitability can be built.

We have the fan base and future generations will be attracted to the club with a more attractive football leading to fans for life.

05 Aug 2024 22:20:09
Seems to have gone very quiet regarding Fabio. Plenty of rumours surrounding Podence, Guedes, RAN, Neto, Hodge, Cundle, H Bueno, but nothing on Silva. Very strange.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 06 Aug 2024 06:59:09
Silva has so far cost Wolves circa £50m, including wages.
Shi extended his contract until 2026, so he can sit and collect another £8million as it stands.
This was a signing the CEO saw as his personal "project".

2.) 06 Aug 2024 08:20:20
Depends on which reports you believe.

Some say he's on £80k a week, others say £42k a week. The truth is, unless we see his wage slip or bank balance, we just don't know.

3.) 06 Aug 2024 09:28:53
I was thinking much the same thing Wandering.

4.) 07 Aug 2024 12:08:23
Where have you read that Rugeley, that Fabio was Jeff's personal project?!

5.) 07 Aug 2024 13:54:18
He said it in an interview once I think bullysboy, said something like it was his call to sign Fabio. Luckily he leaves those sorts of decisions to someone else now.

6.) 07 Aug 2024 16:15:07
Bully, when Silva first went out on loan, the E&S reported Silva saying that our CEO was very close to him, phoning him on a regular basis to see how he was feeling.
Now, you will have to look back to find that article, but it is definitely there!

7.) 07 Aug 2024 16:17:35
Yes, Goatmark, we have moved on, thank goodness. Hobbs and O'Neil doing a fine job on the footballing front.

8.) 07 Aug 2024 16:48:34
As you'll read on the Banter page I think the decision to sign Fabio was FAR more likely to be driven by Nuno and his best mate Mendes (who made a small fortune on it)!
Calling a young lad who's living in a different country to their home to ensure their well being is not something to berate someone for is it?!
I seriously doubt Jeff had even heard of Fabio until Nuno and Méndes suggested it?! As I've always said Jeff's biggest flaw was putting too much trust in Mendes!

9.) 07 Aug 2024 18:38:09
I know I am one of a small minority, but Fabio is still a Wolves asset. We have just one striker recently signed, who by the way has not found the net in pre season. So unless we are to sign a back up then Fabio can still be useful. The alternative is spend money we haven't got and gamb!e all over again.

10.) 07 Aug 2024 18:54:37
Oh Bully.

11.) 07 Aug 2024 19:54:57
Oh Rugeley! Fun game this! ?

12.) 07 Aug 2024 20:06:18
"It does not have to be to do with the cost of the player. It is about what you see in them and what you see a little bit ahead of them."

Nunos own words Rugeley the season we signed Fabio. Now I know that this is tricky for you cause it doesn't fit your 'Everythings Jeffs fault' rhetoric but this is a lad that was at Porto (Nunos old club) and was represented by Méndes. But I'm sure your right I'm sure it was all Jeffs suggestion! Priceless ??

13.) 08 Aug 2024 06:48:58
Relax, Bully, relax. The footballing side of the Club is now in good hands.

14.) 08 Aug 2024 08:11:50
Not sure I've seen the words asset and Fabio in the same sentence before Ray!Couldn't even hack it with Ranges remember and was criticised from all quarters for his diving and cheating antics.

15.) 08 Aug 2024 08:33:48
Perfectly relaxed fella just bored of reading stuff that's been entirely made up to suit a witch hunt/agenda is all ??

16.) 08 Aug 2024 16:08:14
Although Larsen hasn’t scored in pre season he has set up three goals and looked good. Holds the ball up well and is strong and works hard.

Just one change from the team that beat Everton. Bellegarde replaced by J Gomes. Hwang keeps his place. Somebody needs to explain to me why. He did and hasn't done for awhile anything to warrant a starting place.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 27 Sep 2025 19:41:21
I think he's blackmailing VP.

2.) 27 Sep 2025 20:55:55
Must be because of Korean tv, cus he certainly doesn’t deserve to play

20 Sep 2025 15:48:06
I've just turned this off. We are rubbish.

BlackfordsWolf1.

29 Jul 2025 10:42:54
If it's to be believed Guedes is nearing the exit door. Another one I won't be too sorry to see leave. Hopefully Fabio to follow.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 29 Jul 2025 11:40:43
Yes Blackfords. Glimpses suggested there was a decent player there but he rarely showed it. Another who was reluctant to join Wolves in the first place.

2.) 29 Jul 2025 11:49:03
There'll be plenty more in the same position while Fosun keep wheelin' and dealing with their win some lose some attitude, transfer windows are seen as a opportunity to make money, nothing else.

3.) 29 Jul 2025 12:21:26
Hope we get some ? in for Guedes Blackfords and not just a loan. Seen we are linked with a couple of new faces this morning, hope they are serious ones.
VP can’t be happy with the shambles, we can only assume they are confident of more signings before window closes, as Long says, not ideal as early season results may now suffer. As VP has already said pre-season a good time to get new players in and settled, unfortunately not possible now, ?we just make some good signings in the time remaining.

4.) 29 Jul 2025 15:32:14
So Real Sociedad looking to close a deal for Guedes and Roma interested in Silva. If they get those two sorted surely Fosun will be delighted with the money raised from sales in this window.

Let's all hope a bit more of that gets reinvested as there are some interesting names being linked. BTW where's Arias, is he in the UK or have they given him some time to make the move over here?

5.) 29 Jul 2025 16:14:41
Given a bit of time off as he played in the club World Cup.

6.) 29 Jul 2025 16:15:32
So how much did Guedes value go up after an injury free Premier League campaign last season.

7.) 29 Jul 2025 16:26:51
If it is correct, looks like we have missed out on someone else:-
Wolves lose out on Franjo Ivanovic with striker set for Benfica.
Thought it was unlikely when initial headline was we were going to beat Benfica to the signing, another one gone. Not sure who else we are linked with, however I am starting to think if it reaches a rumour to Wolves it won’t happen.

8.) 29 Jul 2025 16:45:05
So much for the new recruitment team!…Fosun puppets!

9.) 29 Jul 2025 17:03:56
Instead of plotting and preparing deals or monitoring and watching situations, maybe we could actually get on and secure a purchase Banksy?

10.) 29 Jul 2025 17:29:42
Just face it.
We ain't buying anyone that's any good
Make do with dross signings

11.) 29 Jul 2025 17:40:12
Thanks Wolvo.

12.) 29 Jul 2025 18:07:18
Agree Abbeywolf getting silly now, all this monitoring, keeping tabs on and closely watching doesn’t seem to be working.

13.) 29 Jul 2025 18:48:28
No but its the same every year Banksy, jeeps fosun looking active. But as Oxley says above so m7ch for the new team! Will it have been worth the change?

14.) 29 Jul 2025 20:08:43
A pleasure longmynd

22 Jul 2025 19:24:39
Seems we have moved Bastien Meupiyou on. I believe there's a buy back clause, but does anyone know if we got a fee, or just lost the £4.2Mill we spent?

BlackfordsWolf1.

11 Jul 2025 16:42:07
According to the E&S MGW move is on hold as Forest are considering legal action as they consider it was an illegal approach. Firstly good for Forest. I get a bit fed up of the so called big boys just thinking they can pick and choose from the smaller clubs. It'll be interesting also to see how MGW reacts.

BlackfordsWolf1.

1.) 11 Jul 2025 19:52:05
Yes read that the little baby will probably start crying.

2.) 11 Jul 2025 21:58:57
I'm sure MGW will be very mature about it all and his misses won't make social media posts about Forest too.
When he plays against them if he scores i'm sure he'll be very respectful and won't stick his fingers in his ears.

3.) 13 Jul 2025 12:09:01
He's the type to do that.
Will be fun to see that relationship break down.

Unless I missed something, Shi did suggest that he and VP were in regular contact regarding options for an attacking midfielder and both (mutual decision) decided against it and would utilise existing players until someone suitable becomes available. This along with VP's major input into the players we've bought into the club over this window suggests this is not just about Shi penny pinching but that VP is happy with the business done.

I raised this point last year. Why aren't we having concerts, and other activities at the ground as revenue streams. The Vile had quite a few last year. Is it the council or are we just not creative in our thinking?

When/If we get relegated LMW I honestly fear the worst. Fosun will sell our better assets and then go into admin to avoid paying their debts. A points deduction then relegation into EFL1. New owners and we start the cycle over again. I've tried to support our owners as much as possible, but they should sell up now and hope we get new owners who want to invest and run us as a professional foot all club.

I know it was on Sky and Brighton aren't exactly what I would call an attractive team, but there was a lot of empty seats in the home section today. TBH I don't go too much these days, but can hardly blame those that are choosing to spend their money elsewhere. That performance was as poor as it gets. Absolutely no movement off the ball. So frustrating to watch and to concede due to lack of concentration is totally unprofessional. It was a good headed goal, but we just switched off and allowed them to get a cross in. Two points dropped against a very poor Brighton side. Sorry VP but no excuses now. Hwang is useless and we are playing 10 V 11 with him in the side. Not sure why Hugo was taken off. Subs very strange.

Yes unfortunately I don't think anyone was to blame for their goal. It was a good goal!
Hwang was absolutely useless again and as mentioned on one of my earlier posts shouldn't get anywhere near our starting 11 again. Johnstone has certainly claimed his position as keeper. Onwards now and upwards.
