So Carlos Forbes, deemed not good enough, scores 2 and assists against Barca! Couldn't make it up. We need a winger and pace.

Forbes did absolutely nothing when he was on pitch for us, so it’s a non argument, plenty of players move to other clubs and do well under different coaches. What did Cuhna do at Athletico? But he found his feet with us.
Time To stop look at every little issue and move on, right now we need a coach, who gives a toss what previous players may or may not have done for us if they were still here.
06 Nov 2025 11:13:03
Have to agree with Sydney here, I mean do you trust your own eyes?! Cause I do and Forbes was frankly a complete waste of a shirt when he played last year! It's a catch 22 because had we spent the (think it was) £15m on him then we'd all have been on here asking why we bought a player he did literally nothing for us all season?! Vitinha is slightly different cause I actually blame Nuno for that one, I loved Nuno but he had his favs and that cost us some seriously decent players! Such is the way of things sadly 👍
06 Nov 2025 12:41:11
Sometimes players fit better in certain leagues and certain clubs - even with some managers players perform differently.
My question with our signings and sales if if we supposedly had such a good academy when Fosun brought the club off Morgan, why is MGW the only player of any note to come from it? The odd one appears in the first team squad for a while then seems to go out on loan never to be seen or heard of again.
Does anyone genuinely know what state is our academy in now?
06 Nov 2025 15:35:56
Don't forget Bullys that Vitinho was young at the time and our cental midfield was Neves and Moutinho. Enough said! However, for some, the fact that he managed to score against our nemesis (Chorley) should have been sufficient to sign him permanently. If only!
06 Nov 2025 16:44:16
Vitinha was probably signed as backup for moutinho, however it must have been difficult giving him minutes from the bench when we were playing games out with no.mire than one goal in the result. It's not as if we were winning 3 0 each week.
05 Nov 2025 22:23:54
Carlos Forbs scored twice tonight v Barcelona in the UCL, Vitinha was MoM in the final of said competition last season and Trincao also plays regularly on the big stage! There seems to be a bit of a theme here, but I'm not sure what it is! Any thoughts? FWAW .

I struggle to see where we will get sufficient points to put 3 teams below us, even with a top manager. Let's face it we are an unattractive prospect for any manager with a track record. They want someone cheap with no PL experience, as they have done in recent appointments. What will Fosun's reaction be to relegation and an outflow of players as the vultures swoop.the last thing they will want to do is consider any rebuild, they want out.
If they cannot find a buyer ASAP that is a real prospect.

I agree Wimborne, realistically we need at least 12 wins but because of the way the 3 that came up are doing I would even say it could be 13 or 14
I don’t see us winning that many in a month of Sundays
05 Nov 2025 22:30:07
I'm starting to believe that Rob Edwards will get the job, not sure why, it just seems to be about the level Shi wants to operate at.
If so you can say goodbye to getting 12-14 wins.
06 Nov 2025 04:05:55
Jeff needs to bring in big ange
Anyone but Ten Hag will do for me
05 Nov 2025 16:45:06
Let's face it WW don't have a plan and need a rebuild from top to bottom. Is this likely to happen with owners more interested in turning a buck than the well being of a historic football club?
We probably have some common ground here -Fosun you need to go. I had great optimism when you arrived as even I could see potential as the foremost Premier League club in China.
The world has changed and a new strategy is needed from new owners. Unfortunately this probably means a long term process of decline and regeneration. Jeff Shi needs to recognise that from a footballing point of view he has failed.contd
Contd.
From a financial point of view maybe he hasn't depending on the success of his asset stripping. However, relegation will come at a huge cost and now is the time to avoid /minimise this. A short term approach to stabilise, give the best chance of survival but with a longer term chance of recovery would be welcome with some imaginative recruitment.
I have my views which may not be shared but at least I have put forward a plan.

I had also given my two cents to you Mike responding to your post below earlier today. For some reason it hasn't been posted and I can't be bothered to write it out again. As I said in that I would go for Brendan Rodgers, not because I think he's especially good but because I think he brings the most Prem experience and the best chance of getting this team playing.
I suspect it won't happen though as I suspect his wage and expectations are behind Fosuns capabilities.
05 Nov 2025 14:54:51
Is it just me or is anyone else getting vibes like when they sacked Mick McCarthy and I think it was moxey said this is no job for a novice then appointed the complete novice Terry Connor
Agree0

05 Nov 2025 15:21:38
Very much so De wolf, in fact I even also likened our approach to GON as giving Terry Connor the job! Desperate and essentially just ensuring a quicker prosession to relegation, so depressing! 😭
05 Nov 2025 15:29:39
Basically they couldn't get anyone.
05 Nov 2025 15:34:18
There should be a company set up to cover for premiership managers. Similar to school supply teachers. There may be one good one in every five. May give us some hope! 😂
05 Nov 2025 15:40:57
The problem being De wolf that when McCarthy went he took all the football staff with him. Wolves Ltd then tried to run Wolves FC (if you take my point) with disastrous results.
That is, however, exactly what this situation looks like, certainly to me.
05 Nov 2025 16:35:24
Only shi to go now and or fosun need a new owner now to be honest unless they change there tune on how to run the club who do you think will be our new manager
05 Nov 2025 16:54:07
Omg. Even the mention of bruno lage
😥😥🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
05 Nov 2025 16:58:07
Apparently Jeff is interested in Dele Allí as a player manager on a free, by all accounts Allí wanted Tete gone as he was worried anyone who knew anything about football would realise he knew nothing about managing. Funnily enough it is also the reason Jeff was happy to get Tete gone.
Jeff is also looking to appoint the local Asda manager as Ali’s number two as he was impressed with how organised the shelf stacking was, saying he’s hopeful he can get the team lined up in a similar fashion.
05 Nov 2025 19:21:56
Strewth! I think we're so hopeless we could't even score an own goal. Hold on, we managed one against Fulham.
05 Nov 2025 19:45:09
If Robbie Keane wants the job, let him take it, we have nothing to lose and all
The gain, Keane Is a forward thinking coach and a good character to have around the club.
There’s still plenty of time to turn season around and survive mid table
05 Nov 2025 19:41:56
And Sunderland!
05 Nov 2025 13:59:32
Interview from Larsen indicates VP had lost the dressingroom, so maybe now he's gone the team will play much better. Strand Larsen
"I have a lot to thank Vítor for.
"He had confidence in me last year, and was important to me when I found my form. And he was important when the team found its form over the winter.
"That's how football is. It hasn't worked, and maybe this is what we need.
"There are many exciting names being mentioned, we will probably get more information later in the week. The most important thing for us is to bring in a manager who can light a new spark in the group.
"Hopefully we can get the same effect we got when Vítor came in a year ago."

I said previously that the team came alive once VP was red carded to the stands. May be something in it. Do we need a manager after all? Fosun could save millions!
Mr Blobby is available and, just by chance, I’m with his agent right now!…
05 Nov 2025 12:56:22
Hi new on here but been following for years. The removal of Teti implies to me that there is a new Manager lined up but he does not want Teti in that position, so he has been removed to clear the way.

05 Nov 2025 15:32:30
I think that implies that Jeff knows what he’s doing, he doesn’t I think teti was brought in as a conduit between Jeff and Vitor now vp has gone he’s not needed, don’t believe the mutual consent guff Jeff said the same after sacking Nuno
It’s jeffs show and that’s why we are in the trouble we are in
05 Nov 2025 15:40:18
Hi RonsSon, welcome to the mad house!😂
That’s a good shout. Hopefully, it’s someone we’ll be happy with and who has fire in his belly.
05 Nov 2025 15:50:27
Welcome onboard RonsSon, nice thought, but frankly given the names being banded about I would have thought a Technical Director type role would be very much needed.
Unless Fosun intend to blow us all out the water with a stella new Manager appointment of course.
05 Nov 2025 16:42:56
Stella new manager, Long? That'll be Lage (r)again then!
05 Nov 2025 17:04:39
I think the only connection this board has with water Long is that it takes the easiest route, hence working through previous managers (no mention of Nuno yet though).
05 Nov 2025 16:36:33
Ha ha ha. Stellar management? Agree longmynd an unlikely scenario given our circumstances.
Welcome RonsSon I do hope this site will cheer up soon. My sons plonked a fiver on us beating Chelsea, he always looks on the bright side.
05 Nov 2025 18:44:00
I thought that might arouse a few😂. Apparently Jeff has an exclusive list of Managers to call on when his annual cull takes place.
05 Nov 2025 10:06:51
I am sure all other clubs and hierarchy would have been looking at potential new managers way in advance of parting ways with VP. Did Jeff and Co really leave it until this week to start looking?
Guess it just re-enforces the lack of planning and direction the club have, unfortunately.
Not sure where they are at the moment with the search, all of the bookies favourites I think have declined.
I was hoping we would have someone in place in time for the Chelsea game, at least to observe the players, seeming less likely with each day.

As there's no one left from the football side management probably just take a look at the ones represented by Gestifute as a likely source Banksy.
Failing that give Ted Lasso a call.
05 Nov 2025 12:07:34
Some outlets suggesting that Bruno Lage is back in the frame
05 Nov 2025 12:20:50
All gone quiet this manager lot funny how Brendon Rodgers’s hasn’t been mentioned last few days I think no one is interested unless fosun either change there ways or sell up
05 Nov 2025 12:23:24
Rob Edwards seems to be the most consistent bookies favourite.
05 Nov 2025 13:36:11
Just read elsewhere that they didn’t start looking for potential new managers until Sunday. Not sure why I expected a little more planning and preparation from Jeff, may take some time then.
05 Nov 2025 14:27:22
Only cause he hasn't officially ruled himself out yet Derry, give him time (and some pressure from Boro) and I suspect he will! Not sure he's the answer anyway to be honest, I like the guy but we need a miracle worker and not sure he's got the experience for the size of this mess?
05 Nov 2025 15:13:41
BullysBoyll it would be really interesting to hear your views on what /who might be the right man/ profile for your "miracle worker" role or are you happy to comment from the sidelines without a positive contribution in sight.
05 Nov 2025 17:59:14
I remember reading a while back that Brighton keep a shortlist of potential new managers, updated regularly with data on team shape, personality and contract dates etc. Just in case.
Brentford are similar. If their managers underperform, or more likely, get poached, they can act immediately.
Our management appear to be a clueless shower. What does Shi do all day? I can't see what part of his job takes 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. He doesn't appear to do anything of note.
What about being so dedicated and meticulous that you start early and end late as most directors of a multi million pound business would to enable the business to be meticulously run, and achieve the maximum possible.
I despair

There was another much-capped England captain in the past, who also marred a pop star from a girl group. He deserved a knighthood too, although he was awarded a CBE. Our very own Billy Wright. He spent his entire career at Wolves. Played 490 time for Wolves and 105 times for England. Never sent off in his whole career.
05 Nov 2025 10:42:04
Nice one Deep Throat.
05 Nov 2025 15:33:27
Yes DeepThroat, thanks for putting it in perspective.
05 Nov 2025 18:05:25
Sorry, I'm unaware of anything that Beckham has done that wasn't self promoting.
I am aware that he was sent off for a petulant swipe in a World Cup game and being paid multi-millions by the at best dodgy Qatar authorities to be an ambassador for them
06 Nov 2025 06:39:19
Hang on Tim, he did queue up like other mortals to pay respects to the late queen when she was lying in state. Phil and Holly jumped the line and where did that get them?
But Beckham of course lives around the Kings pad in Gloucester and likes bees.
Deep throat sums it up, Sir Billy it never was but equally gongs wernt banded about like they now then.
