WW stands for Wonderful Wolves, and they were that today. The discussions have been what price Neto, my question is what price Gomes. He was magnificent. I'm sure a top six club will come knocking. Next up Sheffield United a team that will try and disrupt at any cost.
1.) 18 Feb 2024 13:00:18
Many of our players will be wanted. Our players need to decide if they want regular play time with Wolves and build something or a potentially only a backup role in a big 6. Think Matheus Nunes with City now. I know I personally would want to play. Wolves need to continue upping contract pay to these main guys so they have less incentive to leave.
2.) 18 Feb 2024 14:08:36
Many of our players may indeed be wanted, however we are in a strong position as most of them have at least 2 years left on their contract so any interested clubs will have to pay top dollar.
3.) 18 Feb 2024 15:14:45
£100 million, Neto.
£80 million Cunha.
£80 million Gomes.
Not a penny less.
4.) 22 Feb 2024 07:47:16
That's over a 1/4 of a billion Lostcity 38 years ago 1986 £65, 000 for Bully and Thommo.
5.) 22 Feb 2024 07:48:55
Ps saying that kilman was it £35, 000 how much he worth now 30 million maybe.
6.) 04 Mar 2024 13:25:28
£80M for Neto is exceptional price for his goal return, £50M if he stays fit for another 10 weeks would be good.
Cunha not worth any more than we paid for him until he shows he can perform over more than a full season
Gomes is going to be worth £50+ if he develops as much as he has done already, maybe £80 one day but not currently
Biggest job this summer is turning some of the loanees into a pot of gold, in Matt we trust
7.) 04 Mar 2024 15:21:57
Changing the subject, I heard Mr Lineker state again that Wolves have not scored from outside the box, I seem to remember a certain Tommy Doyle scoring a belter against Brentford from well outside the box. Admittedly it was a cup game but a goal is a goal. I'm sure that when Lineker played and totted up his goal tally for a season he included all cup and league games.

I'm a New Zealander and have followed Wolves for decades I'm 75 years old, my source for Wolves rumours is via Wolves Rumours/Banter and Express Star. Can someone please clarify where Wolves currently stand. Are Fosun selling is Jeff Shi still involved, are Wolves selling players because of FFP.
1.) 24 Aug 2023 20:56:49
The only honest answer is that no-one really knows what the status of the club is. Only time will tell.
2.) 24 Aug 2023 21:17:18
No-one knows for sure it's all speculation but the rumours are gaining more traction by the day, I believe we are up for sale based on what i'm seeing, but ofcourse that isn't a dead cert it is just my belief.
3.) 24 Aug 2023 22:16:24
Yes LindsayB, someone can answer your question. That someone is Jeff Shi, but he won’t. You could try giving him a call to express your displeasure and you can tell him I’m not happy either. Better you divert your energies to supporting the All Blacks!
4.) 24 Aug 2023 22:52:10
Not a rugby fan but thank you for your post.
5.) 25 Aug 2023 04:16:24
has fans are saying all rumour's at the moment most of us think something is going on why sell players making the team weak and not replacing them not even loan players its getting very toxic with the fans forsun/jeff shi can only blame themselves
6.) 25 Aug 2023 06:47:50
Not a rugby fan? Strewth LindsayB, be careful saying that or the Kiwi’s will revoke your citizenship!
7.) 25 Aug 2023 10:10:48
I understand your point Rated but what is it you're seeing that makes you believe we are up for sale? Expressions of interest from qualified buyers? Consortiums being put together? There is zilch!
Fosun are not mugs. We are not dealing with an entity like the Bhatti Brothers here. If Fosun ever want to sell, they will very publicly appoint a merchant bank to run the whole process and to achieve the maximum sale price possible. The Premier League will be involved in vetting a number of potential buyers. When Fosun bought us in 2016 they were just one of a large number of bidders.
There is not a single piece of concrete evidence that we are for sale, just fans reporting and repeating rumours.
8.) 25 Aug 2023 11:49:05
Deep Throat there are posters on other sites who have been heavily involved in takeovers. There view is what Fosun are currently doing indicates a takeover or preparation for one. That is my experience as well.
As for using a Merchant bank is that what Morgan did?
9.) 25 Aug 2023 13:32:44
Wittonian, so you're just repeating 'views' of other posters! My view is what Fosun are currently doing is.running a football club.nothing more, nothing less.
The sale from Morgan to Fosun in 2016 took such a long time that Lopetegui reneged on his agreement to coach Wolves then.
A £400mil sale in the Premier League today is a totally different animal to a £30mil sale in the Championship in 2016. Fosun would appoint a specialist merchant bank to vet the finances and credibility of every interested party, of which there would be many.
10.) 25 Aug 2023 14:30:04
Get what you're saying Deep mate, it's just my beliefs as so many rumours about it on the level I saw when Morgan sold us to Fosun, it is just a case of wait and see what happens.
11.) 25 Aug 2023 14:33:48
Well said Deep Throat.
12.) 25 Aug 2023 15:32:48
Good thread. I have to be honest here the more I look at it the more I think Deep is (saddly:) absolutely right! And Wit I wouldn't beleive a word those posters say about 'being heavily involved in take overs' cause there's absolutely nothing to show there's any truth in it (basically the same as all the idk stuff which is almost always trolls/fake)!
I think what is more interesting is how desperate we all seem to be to WANT to believe that we are up for sale (and yes I very much include myself in that so not pointing fingers)! What does it say about Fosuns ownership that we've all snow balled along with this sale rumour?! When as Deep quite rightly says there's not a single shred of genuine news to actually back said rumour?! Seems like a pretty damming review of Fosuns work that we are all seemingly desperate to see them gone right now?! I actually think their biggest mistake right now (and there seem to be many) is the complete lack of PR! This level of discontent from the fans is almost entirely because Jeffs lost all credibility and all we have had to explain the current crisis our club seems to be in is a mealy mouthed letter (which most of us wouldn't wipe something with:)!
Deep is right though, when you look at it openly there is not a single piece of GENUINE news that suggests we are being sold! Saddly guys I think we are all wishful thinking and that's the REAL tragedy to this story! Jeff needs to get this house in order else (as I predicted before) we will start to see banners at games and I doubt Fosun will like um much! COYW ?
13.) 25 Aug 2023 15:37:00
Deep - strongly suspect that everything you say in the 2 posts in the thread above is correct particularly regarding the manner in which Fosun would act.
However far from certain re the £400m. Sadly whilst we were def worth that and more in the aftermath of Seville today I fear that ship has more than sailed.
If we go down and that has to be possible ( I still think we have enough to survive although rumours of further sales are scary!) the value of the club would plummet as most of the squad would have to be sold - simply can't afford the amort let alone the wages - and it is quite possible that we would struggle in the Championship both on and off the pitch.
Any buyer will be aware of that.
Note also that the underlying financial position - (the FFP issue) is v v weak.
Although we have lots of posters saying there can't be a problem or that the sale of Neves will have solved it (Along with the other sales this summer it presumably has for this year, (23/24) but obviously not next (24/25) year!) I'm far from certain that is the case.
Look at the latest accounts and extrapolate.
Turnover if we stay in the Prem is going nowhere ( if we get relegated it plummets)
But our principal costs wages and amorts currently vastly exceed turnover even before we buy a pint of milk a football or turn on the lights.
Those amorts and wages are reasonably easy to project given you know the tranfer dealings and the new contracts awarded.
Although it may not feel it we have made lots of "transfers in" recently the guys in Jan plus Cunha and Traore this summer.
plus of course "settled" with two management teams!
Consequently I thnk we are probably losing circa 60-70m a year pre players sales for the next couple of years until the amorts/contracts start to unwind in the summer of 2025.
Buyers will also be aware of that!
We have overspent massively and badly under Shi since Seville and the chickens are coming home to roost!
thanks Jeff!
14.) 25 Aug 2023 16:21:38
When Morgan sold, everybody new he was selling.
15.) 25 Aug 2023 16:25:09
I get what everyone is saying but there's not a single piece of evidence out there that we are for sale. Not even clickbait from a dodgy copycat football site. Just beliefs, views and hunches etc. Maybe just wishful thinking?
Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE a sale to go though. When Morgan sold us in 2016 he fired the starting pistol on the process and I think Moxey said they had about 15 credible bidders amongst the timewasters.
16.) 25 Aug 2023 17:14:51
This summer could all be down to ffp but not how people are expecting. We all know you are allowed to make 105 million loss over 3 years if it is underwritten by the owners. Where as if the owners won’t underwrite the loss it is only 15 million. So it could be fosun realigning us to be self funding luke they said we had to be all along.
17.) 25 Aug 2023 17:27:30
There are opinions coming from deep within Molineux that we are for sale (rumours, granted). They are accompanied by concerns over the financial health of Fosun Int.
Fosun stock rise
As for public sale - It is unlikely Fosun would publicly market the club, as it would be unnerving for their financial partners / investors. Only once a suitor is found, the details will start to emerge.
Unsettling as it may be, sale is our best hope for both investment and stability. The apparent erratic management style can’t be endured for much longer without dire consequences - the best players leave, the club exits the premier. Those of us who remember the early 80’s know just how low the mighty can fall.
18.) 26 Aug 2023 07:43:01
Deep Throat read what I said please. I also mentioned my experience. Other posters elsewhere with great experience of takeovers are saying the same thing.
Lopetegui turned us down because he took the Spain job.
19.) 26 Aug 2023 13:01:20
This is what I don’t understand yes we’re selling players like hot dogs, but why aren’t we getting a few loan players through the door?
20.) 26 Aug 2023 14:05:48
That's the part none of us can understand Wolfie. When you break it down if we were doing that there wouldn't be half of this sale talk. Cause the way we are running things defies logic, so peeps are trying to find logic with theories. Entirely understandable in the vacuum that is our current PR dept! ?

After the first league defeat against Man City Pep told VP Wolves needed at least three top class players.I think Wolves need eleven top class players.
03 Dec 2025 22:56:59
Beaten, battered and bruised. It's going to be a long winter for Wolves fans. I don't know how Edward's is going to motivate these players for the next twenty four league games. Maybe to beat the lowest points tally in the Premier league could be some sort of motivation. Edward's may start to think about championship league because I have.
1.) 04 Dec 2025 17:11:39
I agree with others who have no sympathy for the players
Overpaid footballers often seem unfazed by the threat of relegation because, in reality, it rarely affects them the way it impacts the club or its supporters. Even if their team drops down a division, players with any real talent usually have agents ready to line up moves to other clubs, often before the season has even ended. Their high wages, short career span, and constant demand in the transfer market mean they can walk away from the consequences that the fans and staff are left to deal with. For many of them, relegation is just an inconvenience rather than a genuine setback, because another opportunity—and another big contract—is never far away.
01 Dec 2025 18:46:43
Isn't it refreshing to see a promoted team doing well in the premiership.Sunderland who have a billionaire owner, good coach, good ground, good players, good fan base, a blueprint for success. When Wolves were promoted a few seasons back we had ambitious owners, good coach, good players playing good football, good fan base.
Respected by other premiership teams playing in Europe reaching fa cup semi final top ten in the league. What happened. Barring a miracle relegation will be certain. It's sad that we have gone from Mighty Wolves to Woeful Wolves.
1.) 02 Dec 2025 06:57:57
Don’t think Fosun or Shi would agree with you there LinsayB, they thought they would struggle and go down leaving Wolves to finish 17th and be safe, how stupid and naive must the feel now.
2.) 02 Dec 2025 08:35:29
Woeful wolves is right lindsayB . Was taking to some Oxford Utd fans yesterday, they're in a precarious position themselves but confident of staying in the championship, their opinion was than we were coming down and no one was going to be worried about us.
They admired RE but didn't think our current lot would concern too many championship sides.
We'd only be a 'big' team in name.
Gotta be honest that was embarrassing to hear. Our current reputation is a laughing stock. How have we got to this Mr.Shi?
3.) 02 Dec 2025 09:30:51
I’m afraid Fosuns legacy will be that of betrayal.
4.) 02 Dec 2025 10:18:19
Abbey it is hard to tell how the club will get on if they are relegated as it is unlikely that the squad will bear much resemblance to the current one
Obviously all the good layers will leave - that is Krejci, (very much doubt he will be signed and if their is a clause in his contract if he plays so many games this season he has to be signed we may not see too much more of him this year anyway ), J Gomes and Andre. (You might add JSL if he can be bothered to turn up for the next few months).
Then the prospects and saleable ones will go and the high earners will be paid off or loaned out.
What will be left - v little Toti, Bueno H, Mane, Bennett maybe Wolfe, Djiga and Bueno S .Anyone else obvious?
The squad will be made up of free transfers, old boys and kids from lower league sides. To be honest survival in the Championship may well be difficult even if the club doesn't incur a 12 point penalty for entering admin.
Re Mr Shi one can only assume Fosun will thank him for what he has achieved and acknowledge it was an impossible task and, once the have taken out the bits they want - not the football team, close the file!
5.) 02 Dec 2025 13:04:44
The future is going to be far from bright, TFIG, surviving the first season will be the hope.
6.) 02 Dec 2025 15:45:15
Regarding players for next season - I’d definitely have Tommy Doyle back. I’d have him back for this season if we could but don’t think we can. I rated him and wouldn’t have let him go out on loan particularly as the team was being decimated in the close season.
But then I don’t know as much about these things as VP obviously. ?
Anyway he seems to be doing well in the championship and that’s what we’ll need.
7.) 02 Dec 2025 17:13:08
3G You are assuming the Birmingham don't sign him?
If Jeff Shi can get £10m, (or frankly even vaguely close to that), for him next summer that won't be turned down! So I highly doubt you will see him again.
Abbey you are correct. So sad as it doesn't have to be like this. Indeed even now a win tonight, a few scraped points before Jan and then on the 1st show some ambition and sign 3 or 4 decent players and maybe it might still be possible.
However I have no faith that Fosun care or to be fair to them are willing to take the risk that this will involve - over paying for players in January and still going down!
29 Nov 2025 22:47:55
Edward's has talked about the players passion. Let's hope they find the skill.
1.) 30 Nov 2025 09:46:10
Oops, just spilt me coffee! LinsayB.
Skill and passion, is that too much to ask?
Seriously I agree mate, it's something we've been missing RE as said he's conveying what this game means to fans and I hope our lot finally find some connection and pride in the club.
COYW
22 Nov 2025 18:35:22
One change at Molineux, new head coach. No other changes, another loss, another game without scoring. At this rate, Wolves will be relegated by January. This is embarrassing.
1.) 22 Nov 2025 19:21:17
Looking likely lindsay, with worst ever points tally,
We all know .
1/ were going down
2/ at least five will move on in jan
3/ more season ends
4/ edwards brought in to manage the team in the championship
Just got to grin and bear it, hope we can build a new team, again
2.) 22 Nov 2025 21:38:25
As for your No.2 Greyleg that's surely good news as this is most probably the worst squad we've ever had in the top flight (including the early 80's one under the Bhattis). Trouble is we won't get anywhere near what has been paid out.
3.) 23 Nov 2025 09:02:27
Appointing a new coach has been equivalent to changing the captain of the Titanic after it hit the iceberg. Edwards has no chance however good he is. Worse still our club has no future so long as the unqualified Shi is directing progress. Not one word of apology from him. It beggars belief.
4.) 23 Nov 2025 11:25:28
Top analogy Innocent.
5.) 23 Nov 2025 13:46:27
Apart from Joao Gomes and Andre, who would want any of our players?
Krejci will go back to Girona a worse player than when he came.
16 Apr 2024 02:04:17
I wonder if Man City Will consider a player exchange with Nunez returning.
24 Aug 2023 22:52:10
Not a rugby fan but thank you for your post.
01 Mar 2025 22:42:30
I wholeheartedly agree, for all his obvious skills, his discipline gets the better of him.
07 Mar 2023 01:25:38
Must of had an off day.
