If Anthony Taylor is the ref for the Palace match, one thing our boys should have drummed into them is that there is no point falling over and screaming for a free kick the moment there is any sort of contact because he can't stand that. He tends to let a lot of physical challenges go and we have a few serial offenders who are happy to throw themselves to the floor at the first opportunity and lie there pleading for some sort of justice.

Every time they do that, they then have to stay down for at least 30 seconds or end up looking ridiculous, which means that by the time they realise they're not going to get the free kick and drag themselves painfully to their feet they're out of position and unable t o get back in time to help out.

I'm not suggesting for one moment that we are serial offenders and there are certainly other clubs who are far worse but if we want to get the ref on our side we need to be a bit smarter than we are at times. And there's nothing more likely to antagonise a stubborn official like Taylor than an apparently mortally wounded player making a Lazarus recovery within seconds and suddenly able to sprint 50 yards to make a challenge. We need to know our officials and be a bit more streetwise.

And yet, Pagham Hugo would have had a penalty if he had gone down according to all the pundits and independent refs. Its all fake and feign, true honest play as gone, but it was sweet to watch Denmark wasting time the other night which ultimately gave Scotland the opportunity to get the goals to beat them. (ok not all added time, but it was nice to think so).

Seriously you're right no one should be able to
or think they can get a free whatever by feigning it and they look a lemon when they miraculously arise.

The amount of so called 'head' collisions seemed to have risen this year, and it is a serious situation but these fakers may diminish the quick assessment true injuries require.

Get down hard on these pretenders but how/who do you prove em wrong?

We need to make molinuex an Intimidating fortress again.
I would start by changing the music just before kickoff.l would suggest the intro of ENTER SANDMAN by
METALLICA; That would really rock the place and get the crowd roaring.

We haven't needed them so far this season, we've managed to lose quite effectively on our own!

19 Nov 2025 13:41:22
Hi Nick how about the theme from the great escape

19 Nov 2025 13:56:05
Bring back THE LIQUIDATOR from Rob Edwards playing days or at the very least Hi Ho Silver Lining!

19 Nov 2025 14:31:15
I was thinking the theme from titanic might be more apt les 😬

19 Nov 2025 17:19:33
I was thinking Waterloo from Abba:

Wa-Wa-Wa-Wa-Waterloo
Finally facing my Waterloo
Ooh-ooh, Waterloo
Knowing my fate is to be with you
Wa-Wa-Wa-Wa-Waterloo
Finally facing my Waterloo
Ooh-ooh, Waterloo.

19 Nov 2025 18:59:45
I've been on about the music for ages why hi ho was stopped I've no idea but those were the days is a ridiculous choice.

20 Nov 2025 07:29:23
At the cup game against Chelsea the pre match music was pretty good. A bit of Led Zep, but then when the team came out. Mary Hopkins 'Those were the days'. What's that all about!? Killed the atmosphere.
Thunderstruck for me AC/DC.

Surely Wolves wouldn’t set a Ā£44M price for J Gomes for Man U for Jan if we’re trying to build a team under the new manager?
Is this click bait or has Cunha become an agent?

17 Nov 2025 20:18:33
Depends on what Fosuns real aims are Bos. I've long thought they might cash in as it were and leave us in tatters. Maybe get what they can now and sell for what they can get come spring. Who knows but if we sell off the silver in Jan then I Edwards is treading an embarrassing amount of water until we kick off in the championship.

44m is no deterrent for gomez, talk of Arias going home. Andre wouldn't want to stay, what goes through Shi's head anyone knows but he won't tell or let it be known.

17 Nov 2025 22:35:11
Last week I posted that I thought Wolves would only raise £40m for J Gomes because I feared that they were grossly incompetent in the transfer market.
I have just read an article, presumably along the lines of the one that prompted this thread, that stated that Man U will come for him at, to quote "only £44m" as Brighton are pricing their player at over £100m.
Having seen him out play the 2 £100m transfer fee Chelsea CMs for the second time in 3 years last week - the other being the amazing 4-2 win with Lemina! - it is mind boggling that the incompetence is seemingly as real as I feared.
Not only do you have to ask the question of why Wolves sell players so far below where similar or even inferior players are sold by other clubs but more worryingly though what does this mean for the liquidation value of the squad.

If the best player only goes for £40m + what does it say for the rest. Surely many of the far far weaker players - on high salaries and long contracts will have to be paid to go.
Indeed other than Andre are there any players in the squad that will raise over £20m (Sorry JSL's value has fallen somewhat since the Newcastle bid!).
Given that the parachute payment has already been Mortgaged if the sales of the squad only raises pennies net of money that has to be paid to get the high salary but poor players off the books it does leave the finances looking incredibly stretched if the team is relegated at the end of this season.

17 Nov 2025 23:02:08
True or not, this smacks of dirty play by PL teams who turn the heads of key players we need (at crucial times) to focus on the games at hand. Rats leaving the sinking ship?

18 Nov 2025 07:36:25
Respect your opinions future but we were watching different games if you thought Gomes outplayed any Chelsea midfielders in our recent game. I thought it was one of his least effective performances, mainly due to being stuck out on the left side for most of the match. Personally, I wouldn't be averse to seeing one of either Andre or Joao moving on, because they are so similar, IF the funds were going to be reinvested in quality additions.

However, recent history tells us that this just won't happen and it'll almost certainly be frittered away on mediocrity. Hang on to him therefore!

18 Nov 2025 07:45:47
So I posted a while ago about how fosun are bleeding the club out, it’s a poorly managed decline. I do think we will sell players in Jan, if Gomes is one I’m not sure but I’ve read that cuhna is using his friendship with him to pull him to United ( can you blame Gomes though?) now the people that are saying oh when we go down we will have the parachute payments, no we won’t as fosun have taken out a 100 million pound loan against future tv money rights and transfer payments. So that’s the parachute payments gone in one fell swoop. Then I would say 90 percent of our current squad will go, due to a combination of high wages, not wanting to play in the championship or contract expired.

So that means a complete rebuild for the upcoming championship season. Can anyone in their right mind say fosun will spend? Hmm I think not. There is also an interesting article by Stefan Borson the finance expert about how we are close to the psr limits again, now if that’s true the question has to be asked where is the money going? As we are more or less breaking even on transfers so where is all the sky tv/premier league prize money disappearing to?

18 Nov 2025 07:49:37
With respect gents I think you are missing the point a bit. Wolves will accept what they need to balance the books because to hold out for more may delay or cost them the sale which would be a problem with PSR as we spend more than we earn. We have to sell, therefore, and the other clubs know it.

Irrespective of our Premier League status at the end of the season certain players will be sold because that's what has to happen when the owners refuse to chip in.

Great tactics Fosun, save a bit to lose it all.

18 Nov 2025 10:55:20
If they have to sell Gomes fair enough, but 40 mill is a joke. In my mind not a penny below 60.

18 Nov 2025 12:41:11
Jeff Shi has turned us into a penny pinching joke club.

18 Nov 2025 12:42:29
I wouldn't believe Stefan Borson too much. After all, he did say that Wolves would not spend any of the £100m they made from the Ait Nouri and Cunha sales even though they did. And also, very importantly, we must remember that Borson was employed by Man City during the period that is now being investigated. He doesn't strike me as the best person to pass judgement on another clubs finances.

18 Nov 2025 14:05:23
And Borson works for 'Football Insider' which I warned you all about last week!
Ignore any article of theirs which quotes 'Mick Brown' the ex-Man. Utd coach who is 89yo and apparently is 'still well connected in football'! - Really. Who is going to give info' to an 89yo?
As for Joao Gomes being sold for 44m, who makes this crap up?
Websites and journo's just stirring it to make fans reply to their made-up fantasies.

Also, Fosun, IF they are to be believed, have promised Rob Edwards that Gomes will NOT be sold this January and even if he was, his contract lasts until 2029 so a hefty transfer fee would come to Molineux and it wouldn't be for 44m!
Rest easy.

18 Nov 2025 16:13:42
Your argument falls down oap with the line ā€œ if fosun are to be believedā€
I wouldn’t trust Jeff and fosun as far as I could throw them

18 Nov 2025 16:43:34
There is something radically wrong if Wolves are once again supposedly close to PSR limits. How do the real criminal clubs keep escaping the financial penalties?

Whatever the outcome, I wish Edwards the best but until Fosun clearout the decline will continue.

18 Nov 2025 17:26:51
Without a doubt BoS Cunha is working hard at trying to get Gomez to join him, which is probably a macheivelios contrived by Amorin who is a devious **** to say the least as he poached Cunha from us when we played them.

Cunha has not got the bottle to survive in the Manchester circle alone so he needs a ā€œbuddyā€ in Gomez.Just hoping Gomez doesn’t join the ā€œplay to leaveā€ faction.

19 Nov 2025 11:39:00
Think Gomes and Andre are both desperate to get back into reckoning for the Brazilian World Cup squad so don’t rule out anything in the transfer window unfortunately.

17 Nov 2025 16:09:24
I do wonder if the players were playing poor because of Vitor bad attitude maybe and very bad tactics.
Will we see a different team now he's gone and Edwards is in we'll see.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Nov 2025 17:28:25
I think it was both of those rko, victors team selections and tactics bordered from the unusual to the downright bizarre, and there was obviously tension with the ā€œ.leadership groupā€ aka Sa, Gomes, jsl, Andre and Doherty. I’m hoping edwards comes in picks a captain and that’s the captain non of this rotation of the armband malarkey.

Personally I think it’s already done and dusted in terms of relegation but if we go down with a fight and not a whimper I would be ok with it, there was no fight in vitors team imo

17 Nov 2025 18:05:15
I agree. I cannot believe that all of these players are so poor. If RE can get them on side then I am sure we will see greater effort. If he plays them in position, and makes logical substitutions, and gives all a fair chance, we may see some welcome football. If they choose not to buy in and perform poorly there will be less opportunity for them post Wolves.

On another point I cannot believe some of the ideas going around about players that Wolves are chasing. Fosun cannot be relied on and we will only be offering a hell of a struggle in relegation, and then being part of a fight not to go down again, whilst trying to rebuild. Not for the faint hearted.

17 Nov 2025 09:48:56
Excellent goal from JSL for Norway, not seen this player for sometime, hope under Rob all players improve, can’t be much worse. Anyone optimistic that we can win on Saturday?

After all the performances we have witnessed from our squad I for one will need convincing, a good performance and win, goes without saying, is much needed.

Banksy51 i'm going for a win personally I think we're in a false position Wolves do have some decent players. The problem was VP picking his favourites no matter how many games we lost Larsen for one injured out off form but plays every minute. Whang, Belgarde Hoever just the same give Lopez, Tolu a chance can't be any worse 2-0 the Wolves

17 Nov 2025 15:18:19
Hope you correct DMac was tempted to have Ā£10 on us to stay up, think odds are about 5-1, think it should be more like 10-1, don’t bet very often but tempted šŸ‘

17 Nov 2025 16:22:38
Obviously hopefully of a win, 2-1 is my prediction. I just hope Rob Edwards allows the players to express themselves and we're more ambitious going forward. I've been critical of JSL but to be fair he's not been getting great service. COYW.

Where was Sky Sports media over the Rob Edwards job. If that was Man U there would be stream after stream.

I did say I’m done until Fosun is gone, but I love my club. Good luck to Rob. Arias hasn’t been given a fair crack, VP mostly played him not in his best position
