We're being linked with Jonathan Rowe of Norwich City. If Pedro Neto leaves for £60 million and we could get Rowe for £20 million, that would be great business.

The Lad get good press Lost, personally not really spent any time watching him.

We're reportedly hoping to get £20 million for Fabio Silva. £5 million sounds more realistic.

Lostcitywolves

1.) 16 May 2024 17:34:46
If Fabio is sold for £20m, would this mean Jeff Shi is poor for selling a player for £15m less than we signed him because he didn't live up to expectations or would Shi be a genius for managing to get £20m for a player who clearly isn't worth it?

2.) 16 May 2024 17:37:16
And £6 million for podence seems quite likely to happen. Would bite the hand off of anyone happy to pay £20 mil for silva

3.) 16 May 2024 19:20:37
As Mendes made a lot on the deal putting silva to us I hope mendes can get us the best price for him.
At the time silva was an exciting best young prospect coming out of Portugal.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing if you could bottle it.

There will be funds coming in how ever much it may be.

4.) 17 May 2024 09:41:24
If its euros then,
6 million euros is 5.144 million pounds sterling

20 million euros is 17.147 million pounds sterling.

5.) 17 May 2024 12:05:33
It's hard to see anyone willing to spend 20m GBP or 20m Euros on Fabio Silva.

Wolves are waiting for Lopetegui. I reckon that they are willing to wait until Christmas. He has been number one choice for a long time.

1.) 27 Oct 2022 12:45:22
Maybe.but could be too late by then.
If QPR start to stumble, they could try Beale again!

2.) 27 Oct 2022 18:20:22
If QPR stumble, would we really want an inexperienced manager who is not succeeding in the championship. We should be aiming a lot higher than that. Our current situation reminds of when McCarthy was sacked. Inept board, no plan B and with all due respect a caretaker boss who is out of their depth managing a premier league club fighting for survival. I can only see the same outcome as well - RELEGATION!

3.) 27 Oct 2022 18:29:32
Warm weather camp in December - ideal opportunity for a new manager to get to know the players, a sort of mini pre-season. Maybe Spain? Who knows who might be joining them.

4.) 27 Oct 2022 18:41:57
After Beales comments to Talksport he can do one, he basically said there are 2 places between QPR and Wolves and moving to Wolves wouldn't be ambition for him.

5.) 27 Oct 2022 18:58:58
There ARE 2 places between them and the way things are going we’ll be swapping places at the end of the season. I don’t blame him one bit for turning us down. We are currently a shambles of a club and our situation is an embarrassment

6.) 28 Oct 2022 07:02:46
Chaps, my comments about Beale, were an attempt as sarcasm.
Not a chance of him joining and surely not right for us.
It feels we will knee-jerk into a bad appointment and that will see us down.
I fear a real battering by Brentford.

7.) 28 Oct 2022 11:21:54
Used to look forward to match days, just dreading it now. It's suggested Fosun should sell the club, but who will buy? Like buying a clapped out car!

8.) 28 Oct 2022 12:34:29
Ray, Wolves would be great buy for the right person. good fan base, good income, potential of a great team, why would they be like buying a clapped out car?
Some people on here seriously need to look at glass half full, yes things are bad at moment, but stop with the constant brain drain, we know its bad, we can all see it, but Wolves as a club don't just turn to sh1t because things are bad now, if we were to be bought like before things could really pick up with the right infrastructure in the club.

9.) 28 Oct 2022 16:12:55
Great post Sydney.
This is the tragedy of the whole matter it takes only tiny chnages to turn this around.Fosun themselves showed how its done in their first few years at the club.
Even now we can survive this year and then return to an upward curve next year with only minimal changes required.
Simply appoint a talented first team football manager and let him/her sort out the team and the squad.
Although nowhere near as good/balanced/deep as it once was (or even was before the trolley dash that was the latest poor transfer window) even without expenditure in Jan (as long as we don't sell our best players!) it is surely still better than 3 others in the league.
It will however also require Fosun to remove Jeff or at least ensure that he has no input whatsoever into the football and football finances side of the business merely dealing with the mundane matters that he MIGHT be capable of dealing with such as catering, cleaning and other non football related commerical activities.
This has to happen now/V V soon though as another couple of months of losses and it may then be too late even for a Ferguson/Wenger/Klopp triumviate to turn around

10.) 28 Oct 2022 16:57:21
Agree Future, it has to happen and ASAP, all is not lost yet, some hard work and a lot of bottle will turn this around with the right people in the right jobs, whether its under Fosun's banner or someone else's it can and will happen I believe, Fosun have a big asset in Wolves, a club in the best league in world, a squad full of talent, genuine fans who will come week in week out, same as Newcastle, a great opportunity to get back on the European stage if they get thing sorted, the list goes on, we as a club and fans are an asset to any owner

You know something, all of a sudden our defense looks solid. That was our main concern before the January window. Our midfield has been strengthened, and we still have Cunha up front.
Fosun have had a lot of criticism on these pages, but I think our club would be in dire straits without them.
Be careful what you wish for. This could well be a memorable season.

I have two words to say to anyone who disagrees with my comments - Bhatti Brothers.

2.) 11 Feb 2025 17:54:14
I remember the Bhatti brothers only took well. Then the rescue by Doog. Party time in the South Bank.

3.) 11 Feb 2025 17:59:36
Why is it always only the two options?! Either we have to be grateful for a third year in a row of complete transfer miss management or we have to accept the worst ownership seen in modern times?! Is it too much to ask for regular and consistent growth?! Cause I also have two words (and it kills me to right them) but Aston Villa! Fosun had a three year head start on their current ownership, hard to believe eh! ??

4.) 11 Feb 2025 18:02:54
I must confess to being one of the missing thousands.

5.) 12 Feb 2025 09:42:27
Bullys is right Lost the only reason that Fosun have sanctioned this spending is to try to ensure we survive in the Prem. So it will take the next window to see if they've learnt anything.

Not just Villa but Forest as well, both having owners with ambition prepared to push hard for success. I know Fosun are trying to recover the groups financial status and I fully understand and support that, but running an elite sports activity is different to any other business in the sense that they generally consume more money than they generate, which is why the maximisation of income is so vital. Plus of course progressively refining and adding to the squad year on year and not wholesale sell offs periodically because you've failed to build that very income.

We need steady continuous growth both on and off the pitch not this, over prune to raise funds, panic over the consequences of that then take action at the last minute to rectify those mistakes. Frankly that's nuts and it will entrap us at best in the bottom half of the table or maybe worse.

I know some will say that commenting on the realities is Fosun bashing or being negative but it's not, I've no problem with Fosun as owners, other than after all the drama they still finish up spending anyway, so why not just do it right first time, it's cheaper.

6.) 12 Feb 2025 15:14:19
What mess? You mean Cunha? Or Joao Gomes? or do you mean Andre? What about Sarabia? Or Agbado? What mess? I mean it’s a lot better than the likes of Jamie OHara. We are the second highest spenders this window. And one of the highest overall. I’m sorry but we had to sell. We don’t have a 70k seater stadium with millions of fans buying every bit of merchandise our club releases… I mean the fans grumble at paying any money and then moan when the clubs spending is limited because of revenue. Sone of you I gen think aren’t fans of the club you just love complaining.

Fosun have now spent more than any other owner by a country mile. Even the great Sir Jack didn’t invest as much even with inflation. Jeff Shi gets a lot of stick, and some of the insults you hear are disgusting. And pundits and the press know how toxic we are as a club fanbase. I get it, the most angry of you all seem to be over 60 and have nothing better to do but our golden era was over 65 years ago…. Jesus. For those of us born after decimalisation have never ever seen us this high. I haven’t! My only experience of us being in the top flight is barely scraping by and relying on heavyweights like Kevin Doyle.

I’m sorry but Wolves are fine. FSR meant we had to sell players but it’s down to us to trust the people that keep finding the Jotas, Neves, Cunhas, Netos of the world. And maybe just for once get behind the owners who have their hands tied by a system designed to keep the big clubs with big stadiums in the green whilst punishing those that didn’t establish themselves before FSR or whatever it’s called this week.

7.) 12 Feb 2025 17:13:41
I agree with you Fenrir.

8.) 12 Feb 2025 17:16:09
Maybe those of us over 60 can remember honesty, loyalty and respect which took the club to its success Fenrir? I take nothing away from what fosun have done for us, for the players we've seen and the hope they gave, what I don't understand is their PR when it comes to us the paying club members. We have nothing explained, we have nothing to aspire to, our club is not the club for us if we want trophies doesn't sit well.
They seemingly were leaving us to get relegated then stump up for hopefully quality additions after pussy footing around Danso.
I get the financial restraints, I understand some decisions that had to be made, (maybe if the Fabio farce hadn't happened it'd have been different), and I'll always be grateful.
We over 60 have indeed seen the success, we have also seen the falls which is why we don't want that to happen again, we want our last chance of seeing one more success and want to think our club will be inherited by you youngsters to see greater success' in the future.
Please don't think we air our concerns because we have time on our hands.

9.) 12 Feb 2025 17:25:28
Fenir is that you Jeff?

10.) 12 Feb 2025 17:49:45
'I get it, the most angry of you all seem to be over 60 and have nothing better to do'! Wow, firstly I'm not over 60 but that doesn't really matter cause that is quite possibly one of the most stupid, ignorant and (ironically) immature things I have actually read on these pages! Grow up you absolute weapon!
And it is mess, but don't take my word for it ask the last three managers all of whom complained about our transfer policy, in fact one of them walked because of it! You know more than all of them as well, must be all that vital work you do ya know being young and all! ?
As for PSR, I'm assuming that's what you meant (clearly spelling is also something that comes with age:) I'm guessing that Villa, Forest, Brighton, Brentford (I could go on) are all playing with a different rule book are they?!
How ironic it is that I asked why there are only two options (good or bad) and you basically doubled down on it and proved my point entirely! Wolves are fine, that's why we were bottom at Xmas two seasons ago then 18th at Xmas this season, you often find well run clubs on a similar trajectory! Besides which who wants 'fine' maybe try spending some of your pocket money to go to an actual match and maybe then you'd have slightly higher aspirations than just fine?! I'm sorry I wouldn't normally be so abrasive but the level of ignorance within that post has really rather annoyed me! ?

11.) 12 Feb 2025 18:23:28
Fenrir sorry but I couldn't find 'the mess' you refer to in anyone's posts. For my part, I have only ever criticised Fosun for two things, one, they never extended or rebuilt the ground to accommodate all the fans that wanted tickets and season tickets, so lost income there and two, for their current policy that means that our best players are regularly sold off to compensate for that (and other) lack of income.

Funnily enough it was Guo Guangchang who said they wanted to build a 70K stadium back then and he had to be told that was a tad ambitious.

So maybe actually read what people have posted and if you don't understand anything simply ask before getting personal.

12.) 12 Feb 2025 19:25:43
TBH, I am over 60 and followed Wolves home and away for probably 40+ years and taking both my lads. Seen us nearly go out of business under the Bhatti brothers, then a surge with Bully, Tomo etc. Prior to Fosun it has been a real coaster under various Managers and owners. I do agree that the Roger Johnstone, Jamie OHara era was a nightmare, which ultimately reinforces my view that's the right recruitment is vital for a club particularly our size to succeed. Fosun have done a good job to date as we're still in the PL, but not sure if we were too reliant on Mendes and got burnt with the Fabio and Guedes purchases which really neither have worked out cf with much lower player purchases such as Neves, Jota, Moutinio, Traore, Bolt, Saiss etc. IMO our choice of Manager since Nuno hasn't been great either. The only comment I would direct at Fenir is that as an over 60 I don't remember to many golden years. Some but not many.
Don't think you should take things to heart Fenir. It's a banter site where contributers voice their opinion. Take a look at some of the other sites at so called more successful sides and it's pretty similar.

13.) 12 Feb 2025 19:58:29
You're right Blackfords my memory's of the real Golden Years was as a young child but I have never been to Wembley and seen Wolves lose, I include two League Cup Finals and a Play off Final. We had some good teams in the '70's and some great players, some were friends of mine, but I missed the more recent Cup semi loss due to work commitments, maybe I should have gone, lol.

07 Feb 2025 20:07:43
I reckon we'll beat Blackburn 3-0, as we did in the 1960 FA Cup final.
Norman Deeley of Wednesbury got a brace on that day, this time I expect Cunha to get a couple. I believe we will go on to reach this year's final.

Nice one LCW. It would be a nice distraction from what has been a miserable season so far.

4.) 08 Feb 2025 11:51:23
Dave Wheelan broke his leg if I remember rightly - that dates me!

5.) 08 Feb 2025 14:10:26
Yes Whelan broke his leg, no subs then so only had 10 men.

6.) 08 Feb 2025 22:17:41
I've made me tin foil cup Ray, I don't suppose I'd be let inwith a good old crow scarer wooden rattle tho these days, rosette pinned on me coat. Oh, things were so much more innocent and enjoyable then.
Anyway, won't be easy tomorrow, and I think he's playing youth, new lads Johnstone in goal. I'm not expecting a rout but I hope we'll show enough, eventually 3-2, maybe after extra time.

01 Feb 2025 21:07:03
Crikey, we all needed (and deserved) that. The next 2 days will be crucial. The Cunha situation looks promising. A central defender please. Possibly a midfielder. Possibly a striker. We could well get out of this mess.

Will villa pay £70 million for cunha
Strange when we played arsenal, they said they wanted to buy him, is it ploy to put him off,
We should make a bid for Watkins then

2.) 31 Jan 2025 20:22:30
I'll take that. Any win would be fantastic I just can't see it (hope I'm wrong). The moral in the Wolves dressing room must be on the floor. Players wanting to leave, suggestions that we miss out on targets or they don't want to come. Seemingly little or no interest from the owners.

I hope Shi's at Molineux tomorrow and the fans voice their frustrations to leave him and Fosun in no doubt about what we all pretty much think about them at the moment.

3.) 31 Jan 2025 21:00:21
I use to think that lost city, but they've become predictable of late, I hope you're right but I fear the score may well be the other way around.

4.) 31 Jan 2025 21:38:26
Apparently, West Ham want Dawson back.

5.) 31 Jan 2025 21:55:34

6.) 31 Jan 2025 22:58:22
Seems like we're running like a back street factory where the boss says to the management we've got a broken part in the machine. we need a new part the boss says ok. well get a new part. we've found one on ebay but we won't pay the postage. so heres some sellotape. tape it up and carry on, but we still expect maximum output. bloody pathetic. with the fixtures this weekend we'll be next bottom. and the next few fixtures leaves us cut adrift so prepare for playing wycombe and wrexham next season!

7.) 01 Feb 2025 01:45:07

I've had a few rums tonight and I've taken off my rose ? tinted glasses. I love Wolverhampton Wanderers and have done since 1965.
Southampton are down and Everton are safe. That leaves Wolves, Ipswich and Leicester fighting for one place in the Premiership. I have checked all three teams remaining fixtures and remain adamant that Wolves can survive. A couple of signings in this window would be reassuring and maybe Pond deserves a chance. Whatever happens, I'll still love The Wolves. Anyway, back to the rum xxxx.
