Anybody know about the reported interest in anichebe?

abbywolf

1.) 11 Jul 2016 15:14:04
God please no.

2.) 11 Jul 2016 15:26:40
No, I'd rather James Wilson but I presume these signings are coming from the new takeover and not the present regime. If they are, this makes little sense.

3.) 11 Jul 2016 15:28:38
Are they advertising for new programme sellers?

Just seeing pictures of chorley 's pitch this morning and thinking when would our continental lads have ever played on a muddy patchy grassed field like it. Worried that we might be caught by passes not going expected distances and given their open ground not far from the coast and a swirling wind it might all prove to be a leveller. Its not going to be a walk in the park and they'll be more up for it than us. If the worst should happen I hope things like this are born in mind before people jump on nunos back. However we should have enough to see ourelves through and Nuno seems to beaware ( did he really say we'd got pictures of the pitch, wwfc drone busy) ), only thing now apart from Ruddy, who plays?

abbywolf

1.) 22 Jan 2021 08:56:49
Abbeywolf.
Agree pitch a concern. It will be a leveler and will obviously suit their style of play. Having said that, a top class professional football player should be better on any surface than an average semi pro player. So no excuses. Injuries are my main concern.

2.) 22 Jan 2021 09:59:05
I suppose it will be middle of Feb before we see Willian Jose by the time he's settled in and been isolated for 10 days.

3.) 22 Jan 2021 10:13:19
Agree sharesum, but I remember playing, many years ago, on the best ground in our local league and we had 2 Spanish guys signed and they moaned about the length of we thought was perfectly cut grass. Its the unexpected bobble or sway that catches out. But your right we should rise above them in skill. Do you think he'll go with the younguns, he's set hell put out strongest team, whatever that means.

4.) 22 Jan 2021 10:29:40
Regarding the pitch I'm kinda thinking it being a frost this morning and the bitterly cold wind the pitch may likely stay firm enough not to be a mud bath.

5.) 22 Jan 2021 12:18:47
Is there an inspection at 1730?

6.) 22 Jan 2021 12:50:13
We have a Italian striker by the name of Cutrone who has played on a few bad pitches in Italy might be the perfect game for him to give Nuno something to think about and bang in a few goals.

Just reading nunos comments on preparation for games now and began to realise how different it must be for the squad. Hardly had a rest then we finish and start seasons in empty stadia kicking off at all times, only their own voices to be heard, no accolades to respond to, or indeed jeers to spark them up. Then injuries occur and adaptions have to be made, not always successfully or acceptably.
We as fans have have settled into our armchairs and frustratingly grown to accept which ever media shows us the game with the overdubbed 'crowd noise ' or the atmosphere of a training ground and the sometime ill informed or biased of pundits reiterating what we can see for ourselves and apologising for any curse we may have heard (cos football fans never hear such language in the grounds) . And, then we as fans expect the same performances as normal. Brighton game as an example, we were all hurt, bewildered etc. And we vented it all on here. It must be soul destroying for nuno and the squad (I know poor souls), But perhaps we should cut them some slack and reading some of the comments re:- MGW and Cutrone on here below is an example. These are, to use the word 'unprecedented ' times and we have to find a way through it. So I'm saying a big thanks to Nuno and all the staff on field and off, for entertaining us giving us our hope along with our disappointment. I'm thinking of Raul and his commitment (a cracked cranium isn't let the team down) and Nunos hopes in Cutrone/ fabio. We all want that in truth, so get positive again appreciate the lads, the pack. COYW, up for the cup and a decent performance no matter what tonight.

Excellent post abby.

2.) 08 Jan 2021 13:51:56
Great post abbywolf, we have to trust Nuno's judgement. So let's all get behind whoever plays tonight and if it's Cutrone now's his second chance (not everyone gets one) to prove the doubters wrong.

3.) 08 Jan 2021 14:47:00
Think the season will be suspended for at least a couple of weeks quite soon with so many Clubs contracting C.V.

4.) 08 Jan 2021 14:49:10
Good post Abby, well done.

5.) 08 Jan 2021 15:11:40
Agree, excellent post Abby. Particularly with 'we apologise for bad language' thing, drives me mad, sometimes even after the watershed! Not sure if Cutrone is available for tonight, anyone know? COYW.

6.) 08 Jan 2021 15:31:36
Thank you abbywolf. The doubters can perhaps read and reflect?

7.) 08 Jan 2021 16:59:46
Spot on Abby, well said couldn't agree more.

8.) 08 Jan 2021 19:21:17
Abby its 👍👍👍 from me.

4-0 away in front of scouse fans just after losing raul doesn't seem so bad today does it?

23 Nov 2020 17:09:25
Hey just reading all the posts about how we joined etc. And mentioning certain posters. No one mentioned one of my favourites Gee wolf, with his weekly pre match predictions. I hope that whatever has taken him from the site has brought him peace after the rough time he was having. So just for gee, wolves 8 saints 0.

abbywolf

{Ed001's Note - I miss his reports from up a tree!}

1.) 23 Nov 2020 17:38:25
Gee wolf is a legend on this site I miss his posts.
Just for Geewolf
Wolves to win 12-0
Abbeywolf starts a barbershop trio with and ed001 and Wednesfield wolf (remember him? )
Paul Tamworth (i know he's gone) declares his love for Nuno
Coven wolf starts a one man choir.
Jasm comes out all along it was him who was batman.

2.) 23 Nov 2020 18:13:20
Cracking rated, that's lifted the me up for the game and 12 will wipe the viles difference out.

3.) 23 Nov 2020 18:29:55
Hilarious! JOE. uk.com has designed home and away kits for all the large supermarkets. My attention was drawn to the Tesco home shirt, which is considerably smarter than Boggies current monstrosity! Their away kit is literally vomit-inducing. COYW. R. I. P Alex Kilman, win it for him!

4.) 23 Nov 2020 18:43:00
Fantastic.
Gee wolf was a fans favourite on here.
I was thinking of gee wolf a few weeks back but slipped my mind when I was posting the weekend when I first joined this site.
Happy memories nice 1 abby and rated.

5.) 23 Nov 2020 18:49:05
Very nearly Rated. I am actually the FATMAN (well my kids seem to think so anyway) . But yeah, I agree, Gee is missed on this site.

6.) 23 Nov 2020 19:09:14
Very worried that Coady's missing! Can we presume that he's got the C.V. and has done for the last fortnight?

{Ed001's Note - no he came in contact with someone who has since tested positive so had to isolate.}

7.) 23 Nov 2020 19:17:23
Neto not in the match day squad.

8.) 23 Nov 2020 19:23:07
I miss read Neto is on the subs bench.
SORRY.

9.) 23 Nov 2020 19:25:22
He's on the bench I think Phil.

10.) 23 Nov 2020 19:16:47
His isolation should have been over Ed? According to the media, he was contacted before the first England game. Does that mean he tested positive after 7 days? Otherwise he should have been clear to play?

{Ed001's Note - I am just saying what the club have said.}

11.) 23 Nov 2020 19:33:19
It was reported on 12th Nov that Coady withdrew from England squad. The week later reports say he should be available to play against Southampton as his isolation period would be up? I'm not gossiping Ed, just the maths don't add up?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, just know what the club said.}

12.) 23 Nov 2020 19:34:11
I'm guessing Romain Saiss. He is a senior player and was on International duty. Not in the squad tonight.

13.) 23 Nov 2020 19:37:42
You're probably right Jas. Either way it's him or Coady.

14.) 23 Nov 2020 19:38:24
Obviously Conor a massive miss for us sadly. I must admit I would prefer Marcal to Rayan, I thought he was much better when he replaced him against Leicester. We shall see I guess. Good to see Traore start, it's up to him to show us what we've been missing. Hope he's up for it. Better had be! COYW. 2-1 I reckon though 5-1 would make me smile!

15.) 23 Nov 2020 19:41:02
I'm going for 3-0 COYW.

16.) 23 Nov 2020 19:48:05
You right Jas it was Saiss.
I'm at my brothers we got the match on.
No other person on the planet could be better watching our beloved wolves with.
COYW.

17.) 23 Nov 2020 19:50:14
Coady hasn't trained for two weeks hence why not in the squad, be interesting to see Dendonker in that role see how he does.

18.) 23 Nov 2020 19:55:03
Coady going Liverpool. Maybe
Or maybe NOT. , ha ha.

19.) 23 Nov 2020 20:00:34
Fingers crossed Rated, hope he has the game of his life! COYW.

20.) 23 Nov 2020 21:08:37
Anyone watching and wondering how Vestergaard (Sp) didn't get booked (or on a bad day sent off) for the professional foul on Traore when he beat the first two and was driving towards the box with no Saints defenders between him and the goal?
Just seen Traore's first touch of second half - fouled within 0.5 seconds!
I make that 4 bad fouls on him already - no bookings - he did one - v similar to one we just saw and was booked?

21.) 23 Nov 2020 21:32:00
Just writing that after 65 minutes Jimenez had done virtually nothing and then he misses one from a lovely Moutinho free kick that frankly all you Sunday morning football boys would have felt ashamed at missing!
What is going on?
Ps 5th foul on Traore.

Neto miss must be the what 7th or 8th v good chance that we have missed

Extra shooting practice required?

6th!

22.) 23 Nov 2020 21:56:24
ps Seemedo looks good going forwards (nearly as good as Doherty! ) but sadly what we are clearly seeing is that Barcelona full backs don't have to defend and 100 games for them hasn't made him a fb and tonight that has cost us.
Fingers crossed Coady is back and he can revert to RWB where he is showing real promise.
ps another bad foul by Vestergaard (sp) - still no bookings
but Jimenez has done something - v good and but for a yard to early run would have been the hero.

23.) 23 Nov 2020 21:57:01
Well what can I say. Without repeating it, first half ☹️
Second half 😀, but at least we didn't loose, arsenal next.

24.) 23 Nov 2020 22:06:12
Well surely 2 points dropped but could so easily - Walcott 1 on 1 - have been a defeat.
We must have missed 7 -8 gilt edged chances.
We also need to toughen up - we got outmuscled all over the park and off the field we need to develop a better "line" to the FA/ Refs/ Prem League whoever
If Fergusson or Mourinho was the manager we would have 15 more points a season just from refs decisions that go against us. Tonight nothing major - I didn't think it was a foul on RAN so won't complain about the goal - but every 50 50 went against us and even some 45/ 55 went against us.
Maybe our Portuguese guys are playing to European rules and English refs play to a different standard? {Although they seem perfectly able to give free kicks etc when MU etc are playing? }
Finally has Traore been excommunicated and is therefore not covered by the usual rules of society because it does seem that defenders get carte blanche to foul him without any consequences?

25.) 23 Nov 2020 22:23:04
Ratings
Particio - 6 (had no chance with goal and only made 1 save but was solid )
Seemedo - 5 ( ok (no good! ) going forward but was asleep for goal)
RAN - 6 (ok going forward but needs to improve defensively)
Kilman 5 (struggled first half but got better)
Boly 5 (got caught out positionally a few times - communication with Kilman was poor)
Neves 4 - (despite 3 in mid was over run in first half )
Dendonker 4 (v v quiet)
Moutinho 6 ( showed quality in 2nd half when we dominated and Southampton were forced back - so he had no def duties - perhaps needs to play in 5 3 2 formation - but without 2 goal scorers up front that can't be picked so not sure where we go with him! )
Podence 8 - (excellent creativity but must finish better! )
Jimenez 7 ( was awful until late into 2nd half but then did what he is supposed to do! )
Traore 6.5 ( 4 first half 9 second - best 45 mins for him for a long time but needs to do more and we must make more from it!
If he got the proper and due protection from refs that would go a long way to helping though)

Subs
Neto 8 ( v lively - scored one should have had 2!)
vitor - n/ a.

Forget being a wolves fan forget our will to win but what future is there in VAR when the entire viewing public and pundits can see a clear penalty and it's declared not to be. We was robbed as never had a truer moment. Two points taken from us for whatever reason I don't know. it's a utter waste and must be scrapped before the game is ruined forever.

abbywolf

1.) 27 Oct 2019 16:50:47
Not VAR fault. Ref did not give it. Viewed it and still did not give it. Robbed by the ref.

2.) 27 Oct 2019 17:42:36
VAR suppose to correct refs wrongs Wimborne. Like jiminez second against Southampton last week. Disgrace.

3.) 28 Oct 2019 09:26:48
But the ref makes the final decision. VAR is the tool. Ref denied it twice.

{Ed001's Note - not necessarily, VAR can make the final decision in England and overrule the ref as happened a few times yesterday.}

4.) 28 Oct 2019 20:59:18
Thanks Ed. Shows how much confusion there is.
🤔.

To most commentators we are still the 'newly' promoted side excelling themselves, they haven't looked outside the premier 'club' year on year and can't accept the new kid in town. We are an exception to the norm re promoted teams admittedly, but surely they know how big a team we are and will can be. Managers are obviously going to blame their own players especially when their jobs are on the line.!

Who's saying that? Someone who needs a few words to make up his column.? Coady is as wolves now as wolves will get. His shouting alone is worth it. If Nuno sees something wrong hell deal with it. I think it comes from the sub against them, and a lot of surprised comments as to why. Well my answer is it was tactical by nuno to get players up the left and support neto in chasing an equaliser, desperate yes, but that's what we were, and possibly will be until Jose arrives and the sick list are returning. Not forecasting yet as I'm worried as to what the team will be, chorley have said they'll make it ugly and its clear that this match and its outcome is financially essential to them. The history makes things harder but I sense a close revenge that flatters, 2-1 or 3-1 but hard earned.

They speak Portuguese in Brazil, and English is an international language can't see too many problems on that front. He's 6ft2 and seems to maintain a pace and speed of mind, just hope he's got his heart in wolves and doesn't mind a english winter. I've got big hopes.
