Rob now calling out the players for not being good enough. Been the same for sometime now and he keeps picking mainly the same 11, that someone else's fault as well?

If my memory serves me correctly, quite a number of the players claimed that they improved whilst under the leadership of Lopetegui. This claim was also made about Bruno Lage, Gary O'Neil and Vitor Pereira. So it does beg the question, why are they so awful now? It's a funny old game, and we are becoming the laughing stock. A full overhaul is required, and assuming that Fosun will stay, it needs to start with the departure of Rob Edwards. He has had plenty of time to stamp his philosophy on the club but, as we can all see, it is shambolic, with no clear identity and no reason to think that things will change when we are in the Championship.

Indeed, it will probably become more worrying as the squad will almost certainly be weaker and unable to provide any real challenge that would give us hope of a return to the Prem any time soon. The halcyon days of the Nuno era are well behind us now, and anyone hoping for a repeat is surely delusional. Prepare yourselves for years of slugging it out in the Championship, and don't take it for granted that things may not get even worse.

The whole club seem to be going through the motions just turning up to fulfill fixtures with no intention of competing. Didn’t even send our own commentary team today who were watching the game on TV. The second goal summed it up when 5ft 9 Joao Gomes is stood stationary against a 6ft 4 Lewis Dunk who had the run on him and nodded in.

It couldn’t have been easier for Brighton game over after 5 minutes. In the true definition of the word today’s trip to the south coast was pointless!

Exactly, Major Frank, and RE is blaming the players. Ok, they've only their high wage to perform for, because unlike others before, they have no loyalty to Wolves as a club, and therefore no pride.
RE said we've got to fulfil the last couple of games, that, sadly, will be non-competitive to any level, maybe a bit better v Fulham when they'll feel the wrath of the NB & SB, but the season's over, they're going.

I wonder if they'll blame RE when they've left?

When we did find chances, Mosquiro, Hwang, Mane, Armstrong and Andrews, then Tolu, they all managed to miss. The clinical aspects are just not there, but in fairness, if one had gone in, could we have given enough to go on and take anything?

Sad days but old gold forever, COYW.

Everyone has completely given up for this season, although some of us realised this was starting to happen some time ago. The damage done to our squad by Jeff Shi / Fosun is immense and we are now reaping the much-predicted consequences. In my opinion the appointment of Re is just a further symptom of that and nothing that's happening now comes as any surprise. Although it makes no sense, I think they had one eye on the Championship when they appointed him. Did they really just mess up (again) or did they just accept the inevitable months ago? I believe the latter, which is outrageous if true.

Clueless throughout and frankly after spending the entire season in 20th place thoroughly deserve to be relegated. As a Wolves fan of 60 years that really hurts to say, but it's true. Will we see a complete overall over the summer, well yes, because most of this lot will be moved on as they and Re deserve to be. However, do we trust them to even get that right? I'm not so sure as it stands we will have to rely on those that lead us here to get us back up.

I've been watching Wolves as long as you have, and thought I'd experienced it all, but I can't help that this was so avoidable. For Fosun to buy the club, and put serious investment in, then leave a complete clown and control freak in charge, is breathtakingly bad.

I am hoping (forlorn hope?) that the WM forum on Tuesday evening will give us some confidence on the way forward for next season, so far it's the only hope we have.

If we are going to see a serious attempt at returning to the prem and to a club to be recognised, we need plans and targets to be announced as soon as possible.
If Shi II and Fosun intend to show confidence in RE, say so. If they intend to finance a suitable squad, say so. If they intend to bring the Mol up to date, say so.
Be open in their ambition, or lack of it.
If it's the latter, then our supporters can start to take whatever suitable actions are needed to get rid of this shambles of an ownership.

Whichever course of actions come about, we need a total reset, a total rebuild as soon as the season's over so that we all know where we are, where we're aiming to go, and have any chance of survival.
Our 150th year. Are we going to plan a party or be looking at no happy returns?
Fosun, Shi and Shi II, you've got the answers (if we can trust them).

RE keeps saying a lot of hard work has taken place since January for next season.
Can he be clear on what exactly he is referring to? All I can see is they bought Armstrong for next season and that's it.
Please explain concisely and clearly so all fans understand.

Just as Long and Barton, I have been a Wolves fan for decades, so experienced a lot!
Maybe it is my age, but this season has been one of the most depressing.
After a brilliant first 3 seasons under Fosun and local management (Dalrymple and team), to then remove most of them and give Shi total responsibility was madness.

I know the season was over long ago, but to watch most players put in such a lack luster performances was depressing.
I can only hope there will be a Brave New World starting during the summer...

Our frustrated thoughts are being posted on here in the hope someone upstairs at Wolves is reading them. We are all delusional and living in hope. Hope that out of darkness cometh light. Where's that silver lining we all sing about?

My late father said to me, be a good loser, be patient. I have severely been tested this season. Another away loss, thirteen so far, seven goals scored, five points. So depressing. How long will it be before we see the words Mighty Wolves or Wonderful Wolves again.

I used to predict Wolves scores, not anymore. I will predict a massive player clearout at the end of the season. Two games left. Getting points doable, likely to happen doubtful.

Unfortunately, we have to accept the position we are in.
We don't have to accept the following:
A crap manager.
Crap assistants.
Crap players.
Crap performances.
Crap owners.
Each and every one of us, either by going to matches or buying shirts, etc., pays for this rubbish.

What on earth can we do?
Sitting and watching it happen is heartbreaking, to say the least.
I'm not too ashamed to say I'm tearful.
Like all of you, I love this club.
How on earth has it come to this?

Well, they won't get any money off me until Fosun are gone. We need to start mass protests against them.

Some of us will remember when Bill McGarry came back to the club, found out what was going on and walked away.

10 May 2026 08:56:40
We need someone like Bill McGarry, hard taskmaster, but he would kick some arses!

2

10 May 2026 09:52:16
I'm not sure the hard taskmaster approach cuts it nowadays unless you are getting results from, say, one. Ferguson got away with it because he did get results, but it took a lot of wheeling and dealing to get there. In addition, the club has to have almost bottomless resources, so the big names, as well as everyone else, know that others can be shipped in.

The key, imo, is professional scouting. Get that correct and everything else becomes much easier.

Apparently the work for next season started in January according to Rob, seems to be working well then, doesn't fill me with hope for the continuation of the work in the summer.

Really is depressing watching and then listening to reaction and interviews week after week. Shi 2 is either the same as No 1 or just being told what to do.
Surely someone out there has to be a better option to manage us and change things over the summer.
Game over today after 5 mins, sorry that has to be down to both the manager and players, only 2 games left to suffer and listen to further excuses.

09 May 2026 19:35:27.
Since January we've had a habit of conceding a second goal within minutes of the first. This is a mentality thing, and completely at Edwards' door. Even lower league opposition can manage a game against a Premier League side better than that.

To me, there are two options. Let Edwards carry on over pre season, but if it backfires, the club are in a worse position and it's a big risk.

Or, admit that, even in preparing to manage the team in the Championship, it's been a massive mistake and use pre season to try and fix as much as possible, even though trying to fix everything in one transfer window is going to be an almost impossible task.

If the work started in January with the signings of Armstong and Angel Gomes, im not very opptomistic about who we will sign in the summer window if he is still in charge.

Banksy, mate, no decent manager will come and work under Fosun.

3

09 May 2026 18:37:28
I think we're seeing the end of Edwards. Going by his presser, he is either going to walk or get fired, he said.
"Some of those players have got to go."
Has admitted he has given up on some of the players.

He has clearly lost the dressingroom and a majority of the fans.
Shame. Really nice guy but way in over his head, he'll be better taking a League 1 job and growing from there.

7

09 May 2026 19:29:48
Where has this 'presser' come from? Never heard it before but have seen it today in three different places. London buses and all that! Don't like it to be fair.

2

09 May 2026 19:36:26
Keane reported it, mate. Judah has too.

Think you missed my point, Rated. I was referring to the abbreviation of press conference to the abortion, presser.

My heart goes out to the poor fans who paid a hell of a lot of money to travel all the way to the south coast to watch this pony & trap. It’s bad enough for us who go to the Mol, it’s only a bus/tram/car journey. Those poor souls have paid a small fortune, and are now on the three hour plus journey back home.

It must be obvious to the owners that Re has not only lost the support of the vast majority of the fans but also the players.
The players are not suddenly poor. A lot of them are international standard so why so many poor performances. How many times have we gone behind to early goals. That’s just poor preparation. How many times have we gone out in set up that the players look unfamiliar with, that’s poor preparation.

How many dead ball situations have we wasted (corners and free kicks), that’s poor preparation.
This all points to a coach who can’t perform at this level.
Let’s just accept it and get in a decent coach who has a defiant way of playing ( because god knows Re doesn’t) and build a squad to get back to the prem.

09 May 2026 18:21:20
Agree with your sentiment, Nando, but of course the players aren't suddenly poor. They've proved that consistently over the last 9 months.
