Fabrizio Romano saying a deal has been agreed for Fabio Silva to join Rangers on loan. No agreement in place to make it permanent.
1.) 28 Dec 2023 15:06:59
Looks definite HTP.
Other reports saying Rangers are paying his wages, paying a small fee, with no obligation to buy.
Hopefully it works for the lad. Not his fault the silly fee and wages agreed by Shi.
2.) 28 Dec 2023 15:37:53
Surely there's a no.9 coming in to replace him? I get the impression GON doesn't fancy Sasa much either.
{Ed002's Note - Wolves want to add a striker in January. Mo Amoura, Marcos Acuna and Boulaye Dia are among the options.}
3.) 28 Dec 2023 16:06:41
Interesting that they're exploring the Marcos Acuna option, I know RAN is off to the AFCON, but there's Bueno and Toti Gomes that can play at LWB.
4.) 28 Dec 2023 17:23:42
Hopefully Fabio will get some experience in a sort of tier 1.5 league as well as a little European football in the ko stages of the Europa league.
5.) 28 Dec 2023 18:05:58
Last chance saloon Fabio hope he comes back full of confidence and a success if he cannot score in Glasgow he never will
6.) 28 Dec 2023 18:40:20
I really hope he finds some form and confidence at Rangers and he comes back a better player.
7.) 29 Dec 2023 06:23:18
Firstly no blame should be attached to Silva, not his fault Shi has wasted £35million in fees and £4million each year on wages.
One of the main reasons why Shi created the FFP situation for the Club.
This loan is important for the lad, potentially help his confidence, as he should score a few at that level.
Also important for Wolves, if he does start scoring, hopefully we may get some money back on a reasonable transfer fee.
Intriguing, as strong speculation that Kalajdzic is also being moved on.
Suggests there are firm plans for replacements.
8.) 29 Dec 2023 13:10:43
I’ve said before, on here, and at games, Silva simply isn’t good enough. He will never make the grade as a premier number 9. I’ve actually concentrated on him when he’s played. His positioning in the box, for corners, his runs and movement, simply not up to par. I also watched some of his games out on loan, the first time he came up against decent defence, which happened to be West Ham in Europe, he was back to square one. No disrespect to Scottish football, but yes he will probably score up there. Hopefully he does and it ups his value, because even if he scores up there, he will still struggle back down here. We really do need to off load the lad.
9.) 29 Dec 2023 17:43:20
Not so sure he'll score in Scotland either. Refs allow a more physical game up there and Silva unfortunately looks a Sunday league player. Shame for him as he comes across as a really nice guy, but ruined by silly money amd huge expectations that can not be fulfilled.
10.) 29 Dec 2023 18:00:05
I just don't understand why everyone always has a go at Jeff Shi and blame him for the signings that haven't worked our for us. I don't think he scouted Fabio Silva personally. That would have been the job of the scouting team that Nuno put in place. They would have had to convince Shi that Silva was a worthwhile signing. All Jeff does is sign the cheques based on what the scouting team tell him is and isn't worthwhile.
11.) 29 Dec 2023 19:59:21
Let’s reserve judgement until after Rangers loan. Silva has always shown glimpses of potential. Brave decision to go to Rangers. Tough environment and massively under the microscope. If he comes through that he will have credit in the bank and can return to us or move on with a good transfer fee.
Rangers moveisa wi, win for us, Saar as I can see.
12.) 30 Dec 2023 07:02:20
Jas, sorry, Shi was responsible for agreeing the the ridiculous fee and the eye-watering wages for an 18-year old,
You don't need to understand any thing about football to realise it was an unrealistic financial risk.
100% his mistake.
13.) 30 Dec 2023 09:40:05
In that case Rugeley, Jeff Shi should be heralded as a genius. After all, he paid the high fees and wages for Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota, Moutinho, Jimenez and Cunha. Or does the recruitment team take the credit.
14.) 30 Dec 2023 09:57:14
Smart move to send him on loan again. If he can get a few goals he'll be a far more saleable asset than he is right now
15.) 30 Dec 2023 10:12:25
Jas, Neves, Jota, Moutinho and Jimenez all brought to the Club by Mendes at the time Dalrymple was still CEO.
Cunha was a Lopetequi and Hobbs signing.
When Shi kicked Dalrymple out and took direct control we had 6/7 bad transfer windows.
It is only the last 2 when we have stopped the freefall and money wasting.
Credit goes to Hobbs, Lopetequi and O'Neil for a steadying of the ship.
16.) 30 Dec 2023 12:37:36
Rugeley, Jeff Shi is the CEO and gas been ever since Fosun took over. You can't pick and choose who and when he gets the blame. The fact is the scouting team identify the players not the CEO.
Was Darylmple that good for us in comparison. Isn't he responsible for Cutrone, Miranda, Afobe (2nd time), Oniangue, Mir, Stevenson, Yang Yang, Marshall, Vinagre, Campana, Dadashov, Vallejo and Jordao.
Wasn't he also defrauding the club hence why he was placed on gardening leave.
17.) 30 Dec 2023 12:52:11
New information on Dalrymple for me.
Seems to be doing OK at Harlequins.
18.) 30 Dec 2023 16:29:21
Totally disagree Rugeley. Fabio has great instincts in terms of run and positioning. Where he has gotten grief is in taking advantage of said positioning.
Has any player gotten as open as he continuously does. He’s an A+ in terms of movement and instincts (strength has hurt him though). The finishing will hopefully catch up.
19.) 30 Dec 2023 17:52:21
I accept we have different opinions.
Whatever, he can't be blamed for the situation.
Wishing him, you and all associated with Wolves All Good Things in 2024.
20.) 30 Dec 2023 18:27:23
Agree Jas about Shi always seen it how I see it is.
Pointless posting what I see/think as always falls on deaf ears regarding Shi and fosun.
We winning of late, Neto back GON to sign his own players in January.
Silva good luck at Rangers.
Needs a run in the team to get his wish of playing and contributing to his team.
HNY.
21.) 30 Dec 2023 23:14:19
Happy New Year to you all too.

Well, we won’t be getting the Boggies next round
26 Dec 2024 20:20:22
Well done Vito Claus, you’ve certainly delivered this Christmas. Back to back clean sheets just adds to the enjoyment. Happy days
22 Dec 2024 16:28:25
We’ve got our heads up, the Mancs have got their tails between their legs… bring on Boxing Day. Let’s get the Mol loud and rocking, show Vitor what the pack is all about coyw
1.) 22 Dec 2024 16:34:07
Merry Christmas! 3 points and a clean sheet, dare we hope. Yes, bring on United.
2.) 22 Dec 2024 17:42:42
You know what HalfTime after having squander'd so many points recently by failing to take advantage of teams around us we find ourselves returning to the expectation of winning again.
I thought we'd get something today and so it transpired, so let's keep it going on Boxing Day, Man U are there for the taking. So come on Wolves because 6 points out of 6 would be the perfect Xmas present for the fans.
3.) 22 Dec 2024 18:11:15
Absolutely fantastic and yes I think VP has raised expectations levels. The dark cloud looming though is Cuhna's FA misconduct charge.
4.) 22 Dec 2024 19:25:19
Bring on Man U I say another win would be nice
5.) 22 Dec 2024 20:10:55
Hello all, been abit of a weekend for me in hospital, but finally receiving good news from the wonderful NHS I finally find out we'd won 3-0, fantastic and it lifted my spirits tremendously.
I've seen and read the reports now abd seems Andre was m.o.m closely with guedes shining alongside R Gomez. The efforts been upped the style more front foot and Vardy shut up.
Then I did think, but that was lowly Leicester, then but didn't they do WH? and then seeing bournmouths result realised that we're right back in it to survive.
A determined effort on boxing day will cement our return to form.
Vitor has got us firing again, but on a side note, a Portuguese nurse in A/E, on seeing my wolves top said ahh vitus, a strong man, very good, but nuno and lage are better. I couldn't dispute the nuno claim and it made me wonder about lage, but I think the impression overall is that we've got ourselves a savior. Ooh vitor periera. COYW. Happy Christmas every poster on here, and to all you Eds who make it possible.
6.) 22 Dec 2024 21:00:28
Get well soon Abbey, hopefully, if Wolves can keep the nose up for a bit that will help to, as you say, raise your spirits. Have a Happy Xmas and New Year.
7.) 22 Dec 2024 21:16:23
Excellent performance.only negatives are in defence again.doherty needs to go.bueno and toti dostribution is very poor and both need replacing.hopefully ran will be given some freedom to attack which gon stifled of late.even sa seemed more confident aswell.andre r gomes and guedes looked a different class to what wev seen of em.semedo too.only hope cunha gets away withit?.but a lot of possitives today
8.) 22 Dec 2024 22:04:11
Thanks longmynd, little things like getting a win really helps more than we know.
Bux it's early days and vitor can only shuffle his pack, its good signs and with some early signings well be on our way I reckon. I like what I've read and heard so far.looking forward to MoD tonight although I think sours Liverpool and manu will feature alotmore.
9.) 23 Dec 2024 07:31:11
To be fair Bux' Bueno was pretty good, Doc, wasn't too shabby either'but Toti is a car crash and he really needs replacing, opposing teams know it too, as soon as he gets the ball they're all over him just waiting for the mistake or rushed pass.He will cost us points in the remainder of the season.
10.) 23 Dec 2024 15:36:03
Just read your post Abbeywolf. Hope you are making a speedy recovery mate.
11.) 24 Dec 2024 11:28:20
Thank you 47vintage, minor scare and more prescriptions. Finding we'd won was the best medicine/tonic I've had tho.
15 Dec 2024 13:28:09
Mark Robbins anyone? Better than quite a few of the names being mentioned. Ie Cooper, Edwards, etc
1.) 15 Dec 2024 14:03:25
Vitor Pereira
2.) 15 Dec 2024 14:05:45
ABSOLUTELY not Robins a Division 1 PE teacher at best, same goes for Rob Edwards and Steve Cooper all cheap alternatives to what we had.
Need a disciplinarian with good coaching staff what we had was to matey, matey pe teachers and not fit for purpose.
3.) 15 Dec 2024 14:50:06
That's an important point Oxley it's not just about one man it's those with him, something Nuno always emphasised. I don't think GON's coaching staff were up to much tbh.
4.) 15 Dec 2024 15:01:38
Please cut out this PE teacher nonsense, Oxley. Plenty of P E teachers could do a better job than many so called league managers. They actually need proper qualifications to get the job for a start. I have no connections to any PE teachers by the way!
5.) 15 Dec 2024 15:18:27
I meant an absolute NO to copper and Edwards OxleyMoor. I was just saying that Robins was a better option than some of the names being touted.
6.) 15 Dec 2024 16:03:32
The victor Pereira thing, just feels a bit Walter zengaish
7.) 15 Dec 2024 16:24:09
Look at his record, only seems to stay at a club for a year.
8.) 15 Dec 2024 16:36:18
Not sure about that Long, before coming to us both Shaun Derry and Tim Jenkins were very well respected! I think the problem is that we didn't have enough back room staff meaning we lacked specialist knowledge (please see our woeful set piece record)! ?
9.) 15 Dec 2024 16:50:12
You maybe right Old Wulf obviously a disservice to PE teachers!
10.) 15 Dec 2024 16:57:54
Your right Bullysboy. Nuno proved that with a settled backroom staff who knew how each other worked, the coaching would be easier. Nuno has the same team at Forest that he had at Wolves.
Vitor Pereira also has a settled backroom team so that should stand us in good stead.
I'm just hoping Pereira has identified his targets and someone is working away in the background to get the deals done and ready to be announced early on in the transfer window.
15 Dec 2024 11:40:32
He’s gone. Been sacked
1.) 15 Dec 2024 11:44:03
At last.
2.) 15 Dec 2024 11:50:23
Everywhere reporting it except the official website, unless it gets posted before this post.
3.) 15 Dec 2024 11:55:51
Needed to be done. I realise some will say he's been made the scapegoat for poor decisions higher up, but there's no way we could continue like that. It should have happened 5-6 games ago IMO. Nice enough guy, but a PL club far to early in his career.
Well despite my earlier post predicting doom and gloom maybe Fosun are less than positive GON could turn it around and the axe has fallen. Announcement on a new appointment to be made soon?
4.) 15 Dec 2024 12:07:50
Out of his depth.
5.) 15 Dec 2024 12:09:16
WolfFlea it’s on BBC and Sky sports pages.
6.) 15 Dec 2024 12:31:24
Nothing official from the club as of yet
7.) 15 Dec 2024 12:47:33
GONS post match interview yesterday was like a record on repeat - we know we have to improve that, we're working hard on it, you won't find anyone that works harder than me for this club etc. etc.
Excuse after excuse after excuse. We have had a lot of bad luck and also rotten VAR decisions but 3 wins in 25? It's no wonder he's gone.
Our problem now is who will be appointed to get us out of trouble.
05 Jan 2025 11:22:38
Rated, 3 really good pieces of information there from you. Thank you buddy
31 Aug 2024 15:48:29
Forbes was registered too late. Paperwork has to be submitted by midday at the latest for the player to be able to play. Sam Johnston was done yesterday morning
20 Aug 2024 11:28:37
And just how is he privy to the actual financial situation of the club? How is this one singular journalist allowed access to the clubs accounts and given the very private details of the company’s business and financial situation
14 Jul 2024 17:10:02
Apart from Channy’s goals, I reckon the one big reason he won’t be sold, is where he comes from- Korea. That market, Asia, is one that Fosun have been doing a hell of a lot to promote the club, the Wolves image, the ‘one pack’ idea. Have you seen the queue of Korean/Asian fans, standing in line outside the South Bank after every game, just waiting for Channy to come out to see them, speak to them, sign autographs and have photos taken. He is a marketing dream for Fosun.
17 Jun 2024 13:45:05
He didn’t sign under Nuno, as he wouldn’t have been able to play. He’d already played for two clubs that season- Chelsea and Villa. So if he had signed he would have been ineligible to play. He’s only just getting over a bad ACL injury too
31 Dec 2024 11:22:37
If he did tweak his hamstring against Spurs, it’s an even better result. Rest him against Forest, Bristol in the cup is neither here nor there, rather him him fit for the league matches. Guedes looking more than capable of filling the role
29 Dec 2024 22:50:36
Vito has said after the game that Cunha had a pain in his hamstring. I watched the match live, the camera scanned round to him with the ice pack on his leg. The commentators said the word from the wolves bench was it’s a hamstring but nothing too serious. He was taken off as a precaution
29 Dec 2024 19:21:17
Cunha had a hamstring tweak, that’s why he came off. Commentator said it was hamstring, but word was nothing to worry about
29 Dec 2024 17:18:09
He was sitting with an ice pack on his thigh second half. Commentator said possible hamstring tweak but word was nothing serious, taken off as a precaution
29 Dec 2024 14:50:04
Guess the thing is VaB, the gaffer sees more in training several days a week, than we see from the stands every Saturday. I tend to agree with you Bellegarde, but obviously Vito and previous heads, see something about him at Compton.
