Started the season with no Premiership ready players, we now have no Championship ready players, someone needs to get a grip and it won't be Fosun or anyone they employ.

Let's see how much loyalty the likes of Sa, Joao and Andre have at the end of the season. Will they stay and right the wrongs of this season, or will they move on for a nice big paycheck and never think of Wolves again.

Tbh Goodwhileitlasted, mate, I'll be glad to see the back of them including J. Gomes. Tired of the lot of them.

10 Apr 2026 21:55:22
Garbage. RE is totally out his depth and not the man to move us on. Poor line up, poor subs. We are like a pub team. This is also a aweful West Ham team. Sick of it now.

I was just looking at the stats for Edwards, to see if we are being fair, and they are frankly damning. Currently averaging 0.71 ppm (and that might be generous as I am not sure when it updates). For a bit of context, that means had he been here all season we would be on 22 points and still pretty much down.

More than this, we all agree that Vitor Perriera was rubbish, right? Well, he had an average 1.24 ppm, so double what Edwards had achieved. Like all Wolves fans, I desperately wanted RE to be the right choice, but surely by now we must all agree that he's just not up to the task?

Saw tonight's game, I am sick of Edwards gurning at the camera and motioning with his hands back or forward. We can all talk a good game, but the bloke would have trouble sending a corpse to sleep. Boring, clueless, uninspiring. Need I go on? We are not treading water. We will go down, and stay down under Edwards. Mark my words, Fosun.

5

10 Apr 2026 22:30:38
He's definitely out of his depth. Never thought I'd see us in this position after what we were just a few years ago. I know that's not Edwards' fault, but this team performance is his fault. Not good enough.

10 Apr 2026 22:40:16
This is now a predicament.

The facts are VP was awful, but Rob Edwards' stats are worse.

Edwards has clearly been told to prepare for the Championship, but surely at the time of his appointment, there were enough games and points available to try and stay up.

The squad will be very different to what we have currently, but the style of play is too turgid.

How long do the club give Edwards? Well, the plan was for him to prepare for life in the Championship and to mount a promotion challenge.

If he isn't near the top of the table after 10 games next season, I'd like to think the hierarchy let him go. But who comes in to replace him? My choice (as we're in the 2nd tier) would be John Mousinho. He likes to play attacking football, and he'd have a bigger budget and better players than he currently does at Portsmouth.

I get your point, Good, and you may well be right regarding the ten games, but to be honest, I kind of hope not! Because ten games (even in the Champ) is a lot, add to this we will also then have a team/transfer window completely overseen by Edwards to suit his style of play.

I say style of play, but for the life of me, I have no idea what that actually is for Edwards, to be honest. Look at how tight it is in the Champ this season. I'm just not convinced it's a standard of league where any team gets to just write off 10 matches as an experiment.

10 Apr 2026 23:11:59
Personally, I wasn't impressed when Rob Edwards was appointed, and I said as much. I felt he was another Jeff Shi special, so none of this surprises me in the slightest.
Yes, we have some poor performers, but the manager/coach plays a significant part in shaping the team and its game management.

As some have said, his stats are truly appalling, but commensurate with his managerial status, imo.
What is concerning is how long Fosun/N Shi will allow this to continue, as it sounds like he's under no pressure, and our owners don't seem to care what division we're in.

10 Apr 2026 21:43:58
Terrible, just absolutely terrible. 😕

10 Apr 2026 22:04:15
Another Angel Gomes master class. What is going on? We've surely got better kids in the Under 21s than him. Re got it all wrong again.

3

10 Apr 2026 22:06:19
Back to the awful garbage they were before Christmas. Championship teams must be rubbing their hands at taking points off this lot. Awful defence, midfield create nothing, and not a striker in sight. Need a manager who can instill some fight into them. I fear Rob is not that person. Nice bloke, but tactically naive.

3

10 Apr 2026 21:56:14
Well at least Jeff Shi gave himself a massive pay rise last year so he could oversee this shower of sh*t.

1

10 Apr 2026 22:26:30
Angel Gomez was lost out there. Ok, he hit the post and had another free kick go close, but what else?
Our best effort was Hugo's strike toward the end, the left back. Ok, Armstrong hooked an effort and placed a weak effort, but what front line did we have? Where were people looking to run? Hwang looked livelier in the few minutes he was on.
Edioke looked livelier, Rodrigo livelier.

We were just slow and clueless.
Jet lag may have affected some with the internationals, but that shouldn't really be an excuse.
We gave em 3 and allowed a 4th. Flatters Wh and Nuno, and shows how poor we are.
Is Re the man to lead us next year? Well, it'll be a different team, younger blood I'd imagine. Can he buck up players? Can he choose a team to fight and want it? I'm beginning to doubt it.

10 Apr 2026 21:43:41
Atleast the masters is on!

2

10 Apr 2026 21:28:41
Just sack Edwards. He's not a good manager and never will be.

7

10 Apr 2026 21:36:46
Agreed.

3

10 Apr 2026 21:42:35
The opener was due to a clear refereeing error but in the 2nd half, we folded like a pack of cards.

1

10 Apr 2026 21:44:45
What a disgrace this club is. Getting battered by a pile of garbage, such as West Ham.

2

10 Apr 2026 21:49:59
Pathetic showing. We dont know how to score, and why does he never play R Gomes, who is clearly 1 of our best players. We have no chance of an immediate return with R.E. in charge. WHU are garbage, and were 4 down. Absolutely pathetic. I wont be watching again this ssn and certainly not with this fool in charge.

3

10 Apr 2026 21:52:52
Hammered by a team that's worse than us.

2

10 Apr 2026 21:58:22
Not a chance of going up next season. Can you imagine us coming up against the likes of Southampton, Ipswich, Middlesbrough, West Ham, or Spurs? Even Lincoln, clubs with ambition and responsibility. While our fan base is riddled with apathy, nothing will change. While the cheats and crooks are allowed to operate, nothing will change.

2

10 Apr 2026 21:26:43
Looking a bit tired and rusty so far tonight. Don’t have a clue why Rob Edwards didn’t start Mane. Just gone 3-0 at time of posting. Can’t get worse than this, can it?

1

10 Apr 2026 21:37:34
Tired??? They have had three weeks off!!!

3

10 Apr 2026 21:42:04
Well, 2nd goes to Mane's lack of awareness FC. He'd been looking abit out of his depth the last couple of games he'd played.
The 3rd from Gomes' pull up, but we can't just let them play around us so easy.

I think Sa could have done abit better too.

We seem to be too slow in coming forward, and I've just missed the 4th.
That's it, night over.
Can't be bothered anymore.

0

10 Apr 2026 21:48:27
I do worry that Edwards just isn't good enough. Peeps can talk about the hand he was dealt, etc., but he's had half a season now, and what's he actually building? One week we are decent, then the next week we are shockingly poor. That's not good enough in the Champ! Look at Cov.

I'm not Lampard's biggest fan, but you have to give him credit. They've been relentless this season. Can anyone honestly say that they see Edwards having that edge next season, cause I really can't see it. 😭

3

10 Apr 2026 21:49:50
When it's mathematically impossible to stay up.
Re needs to go for certain.
He's clueless on starting line up and subs.
Nice bloke, useless manager.

3

10 Apr 2026 21:51:17
Have to agree with QS here, WHU played 120 mins in the cup while we've had three weeks off! Fatigue is really not an acceptable excuse for this disgraceful performance! Both teams came out second half, and one team wanted to win it. No shock that it's Nuno's team, eh. 🤬

1

10 Apr 2026 22:14:36
As soon as the ref gave West Ham the corner incorrectly and they scored from it, I feared we would be downcast and defeated.

West Ham started the 2nd half better, and apart from Angels' free kick, limited us.

I personally think that Mane is not good enough. The initial spark and creativity he had seems to have been driven out of him.

Hugo Bueno and Jackson try their best, but the quality of crosses into the box are awful and give the likes of Tolu and Armstrong nothing to feed off.

Munetsi and Fer Lopez are looking decent in France and Spain, and they are flourishing in more attack-minded teams. So, the question is, why do Rob, and before him VP, insist on playing such negative, backwards football when we appear to have forward-thinking players at the club?

It was always a long shot of us staying up, but tonight's performance was truly awful.

I talk to people who have played and run teams locally who say Edwards thinks more about the club and the whole 'it's Wolves' thing than actually doing the job. At the end of the day Re is nowhere near good enough. His style of football is unrecognisable to me, and so is his team selection and tactics. He had a bit of fortune over a few games, but most teams have done that.

I understand the die hards, but my first game was in 1965, and I've only seen McGarry and Nuno install pride into this club. This guy now will take us down to League One for certain. You cannot talk your way through a football match. It's a skill, and something Re hasn't got. Nice guy or not, but he has to go ASAP.

If Nathan Shi is serious about turning things around at Wolves and learning lessons from our recent past, can I suggest that they go all out to sign Andy Robertson, who in fairness is still good enough to play in the Premier League. This would be a marquee signing and show that the club has ambition. Just like when we signed Irwin and Ince all them years ago.

We can but dream.

1

10 Apr 2026 17:04:06
It wouldn't surprise me if, statistically, the best odds of teams returning to the PL are immediately after relegation. Unless Fosun are going to sell us at a tax loss, Nathan would be well advised to have realistic and achievable plans for promotion in place. A marquee signing or two wouldn't go amiss to inspire the younger players.

Leicester City's appeal against the points deduction was dismissed this morning. They are in danger of relegation to League One.

And as for the blue-eyed boys at Chelsea, a measly fine. Don't get me started on Man City, will they even get a slap on the wrist?

2

10 Apr 2026 10:32:12
Disgusting deep, Chelsea and Man City keep getting away with it. Just shows what having more money and power brings, very unfair for everyone else. This season especially, both Chelsea and Man City should be relegated. I think we play tonight. It has felt like the season had finished.

2

10 Apr 2026 14:11:00
Chelsea and Man City are still getting away with it. Barring a shock, both teams will be in the FA Cup final. There's no way on earth that Leeds would have been drawn against Southampton in the semis. The FA wants the two biggest teams in the final. I'm rooting for a shock result in both semis.

1

10 Apr 2026 15:43:19
Leicester have committed no other crime than daring to compete and upsetting the status quo.
As the crooks and cheats continue to prosper in various competitions-all seven of them- and supported by the crooks and cheats at administrative levels of the numerous leagues and cups-Wolves prepare for their 150th anniversary, down among the dead men.
F**k Fosun

10 Apr 2026 16:40:18
Felt the same regarding the FA Cup semis, Deep, but it was a sort of 50/50 thing, don't think anything untoward, but like you I'd love two 'shocks' to occur.
Leicester and Sheffield Wed (to a degree) both have been hammered, Chelsea and Man City are laughing. Football stinks at the moment.

Another thing that really riles me is the blatant use of 2nd strip/3rd strip coloured shirts used only to flog to punters.

Tonight, for example, we're wearing the light blue/green 2nd strip v WH.

Where on earth do we find a clash with old gold v claret& light blue.
The identity of clubs by associated historic colours is being lost to the youngsters.

Football is ruled by the moneymakers, and as we've seen, not by investment on the pitch or towards the actual game.

Traditional football competition is dying.

10 Apr 2026 17:18:12
You are absolutely right, Abbey. I know I live in the past, but 50 years ago this fixture would have been played on Saturday at 3pm at Upton Park, West Ham in claret and blue, Wolves in old gold and black, the King, John Richards, up against the great Billy Bonds, great atmosphere in a packed ground, fans right next to the pitch.

I bet fans of our era from both sides would go back to those days in a heartbeat. UTW.

Great thread, so many true comments about the demise of our fans' game and the corruption by those who are governed by money.

Does anyone recall the BBC filming and recording the North Bank for a choir competition around 1966?

3

09 Apr 2026 08:38:55
I was using the North Bank then, but cannot remember that.

1

09 Apr 2026 14:01:34
I remember something in the early 70's. Wasn't it a competition to see who had the best singing support? We didn't win. :)

1

09 Apr 2026 16:03:16
I may have got the date wrong, it could well have been the early seventies.
