Nathan has been in the job 5 minutes. He’s a highly successful and intelligent man and a shrewd strategist. He’s said he’d meet the fans. He did. He said he would do what it takes to get us promoted. He’s doing it. None of us know what play players are thinking. There’s no way Tripps and Raul were not aware of the impending change. Peixotto looks like it might work. Check out historical tactics. He’s aggressive in style with ‘pack’ mentality in terms of the press. Just watched highlights of a match against Benfica and he had 8 players in their half out of possession.

Give the guy a chance. People on here convinced it is Zenga 2.0. It may turn out to be a Nuno 2.0. He favours a 4 1 4 1 in possession. Then drops to a 4 2 3 1 out of possession. Positively is his style. We don’t really know what goes on behind closed doors. It’s mostly speculation that feeds a frenzy. Let’s see what incoming players are like. We needed a change. We called for change. We’ve got change. Come on me babbies!!!!

You're right, Sheffield. The bigger shock isn't Rob getting the sack this week, it's not getting the sack before now. He was hired to keep us in the PL, not to manage in the Championship. The vast majority of us on this site were calling for his head, if I remember correctly. Justice delayed is still justice.

Rip Kenny Jackett.

Si Senior, OMG.
Any doubters about the signing of the club legend Raul Jimenez, rest assured he is still very much the main man.
Will score many goals in the Championship.

Also, RIP Kenny Jackett.
Thanks for all the great memories.

Trippier doesn't have a contract until July 1st. He has only signed a pre-contract which I imagine is not binding to the main contract and can be cancelled up until the commencement date.
Surely though he is more honourable than that, unlike Fosun.

Let's hope the new coach isn't a Don Quixote.

I hope you're right, Oxley, we want players who want to play for the club, not just the manager.

I'm not sure that can be true, Ox, buddy (the non-binding part). Otherwise, why exactly did our staff fly out to Mexico specifically to tie Raul down before the WC started? And thank goodness we did, because, frankly, the guy was majestic to watch last night. I have to be honest, I had my reservations (only due to age), but if he carries that form into next season, he will destroy the Champ! But, back to my original point: if a pre-contract is non-binding, then why bother going to the trouble of signing Raul before, if the contracts mean absolutely nothing? I suppose the more likely possibility is that there's no point signing a player who doesn't want to come, so that could be a different issue, in fairness.

But I'm seeing all this talk of it starting in July so he can walk, and I just don't believe it's that simple. Otherwise, no club would bother signing/announcing any free transfers before July 1st.

I agree with a lot of people saying that Rob should have been sacked at the back end of the season, with a few others we were pleading with them to do so. No other clubs would have continued with their manager given our results and performances.
Rob surely can’t have any complaints, however the timing is a little late, and if it is true the manner of his dismissal is not the best.

In saying this, I did not have much hope for next season with Rob, I think after a few games in they would of been looking to make the change, I guess we will never know now.
If Trippier has changed his mind so be it, should want to play for the club not just the manager any way, onwards and upwards. 🤞👍

I'm not defending the club, but I suspect they have been sounding out targets for a while, and wanted to have someone lined up and in place to sack Edwards, to avoid a delay with no manager and a rushed appointment. If they found nobody, they would probably have hoped to continue with Edwards.

I expect someone leaked about the new manager before the club were ready, so they had to either lie about it, or bite the bullet, and that's why the new man hasn't been formally announced yet, and if the deal isn't done, the club will end up looking stupid now.

The situation could have been handled better, but after Rob's performance, and the way he has left roles previously in his coaching career, especially the way he left Forest Green, I really have no sympathy.

It was totally out of order for Fosun not to sack Rob after the Burnley game, and to string him along till now
Doesn't bode well with me.

Acle, that is one of the mistakes we have made in the past, not having a clear indication of who we were going to appoint before wielding the axe. I agree, it's a sorry saga and a gamble, but at least the club looks to be starting to learn lessons.

Trippier set to cancel contract over the dismissal of Edwards.

Not according to Liam Keen.

11 Jun 2026 23:33:36
That's not how a contract works, he has a contract with the club, not Rob Edwards!

12 Jun 2026 04:48:55
Ok, answer me this one: if Trippier is angry about Rob Edwards getting the sack, and wanting to rip his contract up with Wolves, how would he feel, say, if Rob was, say, five games or so into the new season, then got sacked.

12 Jun 2026 04:52:43
Don't get me wrong, Rob is a nice bloke, and shouldn't have been sacked like that. But, let's be honest, he hasn't got a great record in management. I do feel for him, but onwards and upwards. I just hope this new bloke is good, but I have my reservations to be honest.

We're now finding that after some resignation that Rob Edwards was staying and that the likes of Trippier and Raul had joined for the campaign, the trust and relative hope for the new season and preparations for it have been shattered by the handling of Rob Edwards' release.
We're walking into unknown territory regarding Peioxo (can't spell his name yet), and his record in Portugal possibly not so great, so it's all a bit nerve jangling.
I can get Trippier feeling he's been sold a dummy, but if he's committed himself to a contract with the club he should honour it, unless of course there's some weird rider broken.

I wasn't a fan of Rob Edwards, I thought he was a thoroughly decent chap, but I was also excited by the way things were shaping up.
Sadly Fosun, through their total hamfistedness, have, imo, set our season back.
Rob Edwards should have gone after Burnley, and we would have avoided this ill feeling.
Fosun say one thing, do another, and lead us around in circles.
Maybe when things settle down it'll feel different, maybe Caesar will be our new hero?
Just doesn't fill me with confidence yet.

Trippier has a contract with WWFC & not Rob Edwards, like all of us who work. We are employed by a company, not the HR department or immediate supervisor. These players are supposed to be adults, & regardless of what clubs they've played for, I'm sure they've experienced the managerial merry-go-round.

You can't have players dictating who they want as manager!
Trippier & Raul have agreed their contract & will still get paid the same, regardless of manager!

Apparently, Fosun made Edwards aware that he was not going to be leading Wolves into the new season a few weeks ago, and have been trying to secure Peixoto for the last month.

I do feel sorry for Edwards, he could have stayed at Middlesboro and maybe got promotion. Instead he joined Wolves who at that time were winless and certain for relegation. Inherited a poor squad and didn't win the fans over with his style of play.

11 Jun 2026 21:56:16
Kieran Trippier is reportedly considering cancelling his agreement with Wolves as he is angry at the sacking of Rob Edwards, feeling he has been misled by the club. His contract at the club is due to start 1st July.

11 Jun 2026 22:39:32
Tbh, I don't blame him.
If he was told certain things and Rob persuaded him to sign.
How can he trust the club?

12 Jun 2026 08:54:55
I don't blame Trippier. He has said repeatedly that Rob Edwards was the reason he joined Wolves rather than going to a possible Premiership club. The new management is not off to a good start. The underhand way they got rid of Rob Edwards is unacceptable.

The only way that this can get sorted, to satisfy both parties, is for the new manager to now convince Trippier that he will still have a significant role in the club.

He also said repeatedly that the move was perfect for being close to his kids. Let's see what's more important to him, being close to his kids or having Rob in charge? If it's the latter, I'd have serious concerns about where his priorities in life take him.

Great goal by Raul for Mex. He started the move, good cross, and great header.
That what we need at Wolves. 😁
