Now that Tolu looks to be on his way, hopefully Wolves might start signing some players.

Hope you correct DMac, more rumours today I think as well. 🤞👍

Liverpool looking for a cb, Toti, if you're reading this, I'd be sitting by the phone if I were you.

Have we started a trend for older players? Chelsea after Henderson and Welbeck!

Tolu to Ajax being reported by Talking Wolves and Fancast on Instagram.

This person who insists on playing Hwang is he related to Edwards or what?
If he was any good, someone would of snatched him from us now.
I seen Sunday morning league players better.

Wolves could have sold Hwang to Marseille for £20 million, but he is worth too much commercially.

Hwang can play in several forward positions, and he has pace. He should be very useful in the Championship.

He's happy at Wolves. As stated, he also has that very valuable commercial value.

Raul wearing his shirt on holiday might be a clue as to Hwang's future at Wolves. Personally, I would be stunned if Wolves sold him.

1

27 Jul 2026 12:32:56
Here we go again, so how much is Hwang worth commercially then? Because someone should tell our accountants as we seem to be losing money left right and centre! Then of course there's the fact that he is one of our highest earners, so once you discount his £2-3m a year in wages how much do you honestly think he pulls into this club? All I hear is about how much he's worth commercially, you'd think the guy is Ronaldo yet no one ever seems to have an figures/proof to back it up?!

6

27 Jul 2026 13:04:03
If he doesn't cut it in the Championship, then he is a lost cause. Can all but give him a shot, see how it goes.

2

27 Jul 2026 13:25:22
Here we go again, Bully. Calm down, dear.

Wolves have a commercial deal with KOCOWA+. Aside from monetary gain in the short term, Wolves get valuable exposure in South Korea and further afield.

Football has changed, and Wolves can't grow as a club if they field a team of UK players. They need players from areas that can help Wolves to increase revenues. This is why Fosun is so desperate to unearth a brilliant Chinese player.

One of the reasons Man Utd is such a huge club is because they had the intelligence to tap into foreign markets years before other clubs. They were doing pre season tours in Asia decades before many of their rivals.

What Wolves should have done, to keep a few shortsighted Wolves fans happy, is partner up with KOCOWA+ and other South Korean sponsors (if they exist) and then immediately sell Hee-chan Hwang because he is s***.

2

27 Jul 2026 14:28:06
Don't care what they say about Hwang, he is overpaid and a non-league player at best. When he is in the team, it's like playing with 10 men. Get a grip, Wolves, and get him sold on if possible.

2

27 Jul 2026 14:35:52
Well, Matron, Wolves were active in Europe in the 1950s. Probably the first floodlit football was at the Mol against top European sides. I also remember Wolves playing at home and away against Russian sides. For a few years, Wolves were probably the most well-known club in the world.

2

27 Jul 2026 14:48:41
Hwang is poor, Ray, but if you think he's non-league at best then your judgement is on a par with Fosun's.

1

27 Jul 2026 16:06:21
Wolves would have earned £109m for finishing 20th last season. This season, the club will earn £49m, so unless Hwang is bringing in the extra £60m, I think it's time we got rid of him.

0

27 Jul 2026 16:29:07
Because it was just Hwang's fault we were relegated?

2

27 Jul 2026 16:30:17
For better or for worse, we are stuck with Hwang. He scored some good goals for us in the PL. If CP gets him going again, he might prove crucial in the Championship with his pace. If he also pays his way financially from our Asian-linked businesses, so much the better.

1

27 Jul 2026 16:27:45
I'm perfectly calm cheers Matron and thank you for making my point perfectly! As I've pointed out on here before the Kowoca deal is with a streaming platform, so essentially it's a firm that agree to market Wolves games. We triggered an extension to the contract, so in essence we are the customer in that scenario. All you've proven to be honest Matron is that it's the fans lacking a general understanding of how business contracts work rather than proving any genuine revenue raised by having Hwang. 🤣
Also What is absolutely spot on here, how much is Prem footy worth compared to having a player the manager doesn't want starting in the team? Ironically I actually agree with others that the guy might be useful as we might finally be playing at his level, time will tell.

But if he's in the team it's for one reason and that's because the manager picks him, now you can argue agaisnt that selection but all the conspiracy theories are genuinely hilarious! Almost as funny as comparing playing one fairly minor South Korean player to the international marketing power house which is Man United, keep um coming Matron buddy! 😂

Looking at Jordan Holsgrove.
May be too far back, but wasn't there a Holsgrove playing for us alongside Mike Bailey?

27 Jul 2026 18:05:42
Evening all, it's been a while. But I thought I would throw my 10 pence worth in. If, and it's a big if, we retain the players we currently have, we should be very strong in the Championship. I know we want to see fresh blood come in, but it's a case where we're damned if we do and we're damned if we don't, whether we sell or we buy.
The biggest issue we had last year was the lack of leadership and shape. That came from 2 things, bad management and no proper captain. We also lost a big figure around the dressing room in Cuhna.
Raul and Trippier will add a bit of the bite and quality we missed. Traore and Doyle can add fresh blood again, maybe Sasa.

We have the players if we look deeper, so unless we sell a few more we are going to struggle to bring new players in. The new coach may just be happy enough with what he has. Do we play Johnstone as the number #1 if, and most likely when, Sa goes?
At worst, a new keeper and maybe an attacking MF would do me.
Right now, if we keep what we have, we have plenty to get the season going and be strong enough to win games.

On the positive side, we have been missing quite a few so far in pre season, and we have been positive in our play, which is a lot different from last years efforts.

Any news on the new away top coming out?

27 Jul 2026 07:37:07
Hopefully the Blackburn game will see a team capable of challenging for the top two.

Wolves desperately - DESPERATELY! - need a new goalkeeper. I'll eat my nonexistent hat if Jose Sa starts against Blackburn.

Wolves also need solid backup players. Lima can't play as backup to Tripper. Peixoto might use Mosquera to cover Trippier. Lima is too young and inexperienced to be starting too many games this season.

I can remember the fiasco when Jonny Otto was injured and Ruben Vinagre was his cover. Disastrous.

Unless a serious offer comes in for Krejci, Wolves won't let him go. They paid too much for him, and they definitely won't take a loss on such a useful player.

Toti Gomes is a backup player. He's simply not good enough to be starting games week in week out.

Marshall Munetsi might be the central midfielder who plays alongside Andre.

Tommy Doyle is a solid backup player. He can play a number of games without issue. He's fine for the Championship, though the worrying stat is bcfc started dropping him.

Mane will be a key player for Wolves this season, but he needs remember that he has teammates. He's young and his decision making at times is questionable.

Not sure what's happening with Fer Lopez. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde can play as an attacking midfielder, or Mane can play that role with Hee-chan Hwang on the left. Say to say Hugo Bueno will be happier with Hwang on the left.

Will Sasa Kalajdzic play as backup to Raul Jimenez?

GK:? /Jose Sa

RB: Kieren Trippier (C)
RCB: Yerson Mosquera/Santiago Bueno/Nasser Djiga
LCB: Ladislav Krejci/Yerson Mosquera
LB: David Moller Wolfe/Hugo Bueno

DM: Andre
CM: Marshall Munetsi/Bellegarde/Tommy Doyle

RW: Rodrigo Gomes
AM:? /Fer Lopez/Bellegarde/Mateus Mane
LW: Mateus Mane/Rafiki Said/Hee-chan Hwang

CF: Raul Jimenez

Probably wrong in every area. As a priority Wolves must sign a goalkeeper. Who will provide Rodrigo Gomes will competition? Will Jean-Ricner Bellegarde be the main central midfielder? If Sasa stays will he be Raul's backup?

Very good post.
However, we seem to be sadly coming round to the acceptance that, frankly, very little will be changed this summer and that the side will be largely the wholly inadequate one that went down last year.
The side listed above will be ok for the Champ, but not much more, and certainly won't be "too good" for it.

The 2 new boys, plus, of course, Krejci and Andre, are Prem quality players who will balance some young bucks - Mane, Lopez (don't think he will be here, but...), and Gomes, and hopefully cover for some weaker players, particularly on the bench.
Heaven help us, though, if there are injuries to the "big 4".

27 Jul 2026 08:46:18
Goodwhileitlasted1 has noted a potential goalie and midfielder could be in the pipeline. Let's hope they are eager to play and bring much-needed quality.

2

27 Jul 2026 11:03:04
Apparently we're after Jordan Holsgrove, a Scot playing in Portugal.
He qualifies as home grown, and, interestingly, is the grandson of our own John Holsgrove from the 70s team.

3

27 Jul 2026 12:04:19
Love the interesting fact, Tim. 👏👏👏

Wolves have to sign him. Would surely mean one player leaving to bring him in. Wolves don't need a shedload of central midfielders.

1

27 Jul 2026 12:12:22
Should be good for a few own goals then, Tim! Only those of a certain vintage will remember, but John Holsgrove was a very decent centre half who was unfortunate to be hounded out following a couple of own goals.

1

27 Jul 2026 13:03:25
John Holsgrove, slightly before my time, I suspect, and I'm 64.

2

27 Jul 2026 14:28:59
Nobody mentioning Santi Bueno? Has he gone? Coz he was really coming on at the end last season.

0

27 Jul 2026 14:51:55
Saw him late last week. Abbey was strolling to training in his flip flops, and extremely sun tanned! I imagine he's a little behind the others in fitness, having had a short holiday following Uruguay's excellent World Cup!

0

27 Jul 2026 15:22:50
Something went wrong with the punctuation, because I definitely didn't see Abbey strolling to training in his flip flops!

Hi,
Well I just found out, through research, what I had suspected all along.
'Molineux News', the site owned by GRV Media, is no more. They were reported to Google on multiple occasions and 'punished' because of their 'consistent use of spam' and other related aspects. They cut their workforce by a third and this has forced them to change 'priorities'.

So, the lie that was told about having "exclusive Wolves supporting journalists"(usually pictured at Old Trafford or Elland Road (where students of journalism can be based), was that all along. Obviously, there has been nothing from them for months and an article in "The Press Gazette" in December, forecasted this.

It has been a pet peeve of mine because I never believed their schtick all along, yet they were often quoted as being 'relevant' and 'reliable'. Even on this site people quoted them and I think this raises a broader question. While there are Wolves fans who do a great job on youtube etc, the danger is that unless the source is reliable and the messenger is genuine, then we can all be fooled, especially where big conglomerates claim to be 'supporters'!

8

27 Jul 2026 03:04:00
This is why I cross reference things with other sources before I post them, mate.

Thought of a brilliant idea to raise money for the Wolves. sell raffle tickets.
The winner becomes Wolves' next manager.
This job is available to anybody who believes what crap you're told by the Wolves.
Don't worry if you're useless as a manager; they will give you a good payout when they sack you. Easy money.
From a new moaner member.

27 Jul 2026 08:49:10
How much are the tickets? And do you accept Green Shield Stamps?

0

27 Jul 2026 11:13:52
So many posters taking the p**s. Are they the real supporters?

1

26 Jul 2026 13:03:31
Relax everyone. These are friendlies and results mean nothing. People complain about passing back or sideways, but those that watched Spain win World Cup saw a Lot of that same thing! There is strategy that is involved. The concern with that type of passing is the pace...slow is wasteful and allows defenses to cover, fast is better and opens up holes for more forward passes. I think Peixoto will stress the importance of quickness.

In the first two games I see the younger players, and those that may be here, attacking more so I'm encouraged by that. Once we know, and Peixoto too, the players that we have for the season and get the first meaningful games complete, then we can stress or relax.
For everyone's health, try to keep your anxiety in check now... I'm sure it will ramp up during the season!

5

26 Jul 2026 20:11:08
Yes, relax everyone. Man U just lost 0-1 at home to Wrexham. That doesn't mean Man U are going down. Even if we had won, what would it prove? It's a pre-season friendly, but I thought we played well. As for signings, CP needs to assess every single player before we crank up selling and buying.

We have clearly made mistakes, especially in the recent past, and we need to be a lot meaner in decision making. As for a prediction where we might finish this season, quite frankly, we have very little information to judge at the moment.

4

26 Jul 2026 11:18:39
It beggars belief that here we are three weeks out from the season and we don't know who will be our goalkeeper. Bentley couldn't hold down the number one at Bristol and should have saved the first goal yesterday. We need better.

12

26 Jul 2026 14:39:16
Agree with you, Innocent, unfortunately it seems very much like recent summers, apart from Trippier and Raul signing.
Some people seem to think we will be fine and be at the top in the Championship. Hope I am wrong, but can't see it.
The shambles seems to continue whichever Shi is in charge.

Desperately need a new GK, as well as attacking players, as well as a new CM, the list goes on. Seems that there is little interest in any of our players, not really that surprising after last season's efforts.

5

26 Jul 2026 15:13:36
Can't see a new GK coming in until either Sa has gone or Bentley, no one exactly queuing up for either, so until this happens can't see any movement yet.

4

26 Jul 2026 20:28:41
We have three very poor goalkeepers on the books. A far cry from when we had Murray, Hennessy and Ikeme.

3

26 Jul 2026 23:12:17
All three goalkeepers fighting for the No1 spot are not good enough. Jose Sa is clearly the better goalkeeper, but he was the beginning of Fosun replacing quality with cheap downgrades. Amazing to think Wolves once had Rui Patricio as their No.1.

Dan Bentley's stats are close to appalling. His save ratio is barely good enough for a Championship team fighting relegation. Arsenal had him right, he's a no.3.

2

26 Jul 2026 09:32:31
What's the point of playing players who are being sold or don't want to be here. Play the players you have left build a team out of them. Then we may actually get a team that knows how to play together. I just am flabbergasted by what's going on at the Wolves.

9

26 Jul 2026 11:12:55
Totally agree, Moby, but we'll be classed as moaners if we have a different opinion.

7

26 Jul 2026 11:24:07
I think I've joined the members' club by now.
I can understand the frustration.
I have been going to Wolves nearly all my life, & will never understand why we were never as big as Man Utd, City, Liverpool etc.
There seems to be too many people at Wolves sat on their arses doing nothing.

Get out there; get us some investment.
Somebody out there surely would put money into Wolves. Besides, the fans deserve better than what we are getting at the moment.

9

26 Jul 2026 12:08:59
We have to be self sustainable, and Nathan is already looking into how to spend all of the £5's raised from the fans for streaming the Real Sociedad game.
We have more friendlies coming up, and more £5's to go into the coffers, so let's just wait and see how this money is invested.

The stadium tours, advertised on the club website at £25 for adults, could help to swell the revenue further.
The sky's the limit with Nathan at the wheel.

5

26 Jul 2026 12:14:15
Moaners or not, let's face it, the club is a shambles. We sign a very experienced defender who is a ready-made captain and then give the armband to our worst C/B. Raul is a hero coming back, but he will have his work cut out with the lack of service he can expect.

Desperate for wingers to provide crosses, but apart from the new signing, nothing to be optimistic about. If Sa is not staying, then we definitely need a decent keeper.

4

26 Jul 2026 13:19:05
Well, the question we need to ask then is:

a) Do we want to win promotion next year under Fosun & have more of the same. I.e. just trying to survive in the PL. No additional income streams, etc. Constantly selling our better players. No real interest, it seems, in either expanding the ground or bringing areas of it up to date. The Graham Hughes Stand is an embarrassment.

Or:

b) Struggle in this league to the point where the criticism of the fans is such that it forces Fosun to sell up. We get new owners for better or for worse.
It's a hard choice, but will Fosun change. Surely they've sold Trippier & Raul some sort of ambitious project, else why would they come?
