So poor by Unai to have left the field before the final whistle and not shake RE's hand.
27 Feb 2026 22:53:06
Last week, we had Paul Merson moaning about Arsenal after the 1-1 draw, with little respect for our team, and this evening we have had 45 mins of Lee Hendrix crying over this Villa defeat. No mention of our terrific effort, with less than 40% possession in both games. Fantastic performance from our lads in the last 2 games. Keep it going.
01 Mar 2026 00:34:15
Trot Boy, that seems to be the norm for us Wolves fans, although it was quite refreshing on MOTD tonight, for them to talk positively about Wolves for more than 5 seconds, and to do it before the negativity of our opponents! Let's hope that win ignites a flame, and we do the double on the Pool next week, although I have to say they looked good today against West Ham, so time will tell, I guess.
27 Feb 2026 21:47:29
We are staying up!
27 Feb 2026 20:53:21
Why is Jackson even in the squad never mind on the pitch absolute useless. Why when Wolves get in Villas half the ball always goes backwards just no forward passing.
27 Feb 2026 21:33:43
Rhuuud and Dmac, I think we've just seen the answers. Armstrong will have some mates now, and Jackson finally got his act together. All the credit to Gomes though, he started and finished the move, great goal. Now the refs changed his batteries, it's back to the match. Can we hold on? Will we finish with 11 players? Can we fend the vile off?
27 Feb 2026 22:02:21
Brilliant second half. Not happened too often this season, but I actually enjoyed watching the game. If only we had that fight at the start of the season!
27 Feb 2026 22:03:04
And Banksy, mate, I said he was an impact player, Rodrigoooo. 2-0 didn't think it'd happen, some shoddy stuff at times, but bl**dy brilliant in the end. Got to give Mosquiro a mention, tremendous effort tonight. And tremendous effort from everyone, and that's the difference.Liverpool twice next week. Be dreaming tonight. COYW.
27 Feb 2026 22:27:20
Well, that was bloody nail-biting. Jackson was absolutely useless until the 55th minute, and then suddenly - boom. That little run and cross gave him the confidence, and suddenly he was everywhere.
Again, Santi was unflappable. Andre and Joao dominated the midfield in the 2nd half. Mosquera needs to rein his temper in, and Armstrong was again anonymous in the 1st half, but so much better in the 2nd.
27 Feb 2026 20:52:44
Wonder what Armstrong did wrong in training this week to upset the lads, so many promising positions and anticipated runs that are being missed! Some dodgy officiating again; Mosquera right to be unhappy with that yellow- wonder how many chances he is going to give Buendia before a card is shown? Fingers crossed for the second half
27 Feb 2026 22:29:41
Well, just another 9 wins in a row and we have a chance. But to carry this kind of fight to the end of the ssn, we might get off bottom spot. That would be a positive to carry into next ssn.
27 Feb 2026 20:17:48
16 mins in and Jackson has made 3 mistakes already. I hope he doesn't cause us to concede.
27 Feb 2026 20:56:50
We will never score with this selection: no forwards, no height, no hold-up play. Defence looks incapable of passing or creating anything. Armstrong is making runs, but no one can see him or is capable of finding him.
We need height at centre forward: leave Armstrong on, replace Gomes, and move Bellegarde into his position. We will then have height at centre forward. Otherwise we will never score.
27 Feb 2026 20:59:18
Mosquera is going to go unless he calms down. Villa will crap themselves if Jackson actually moved more towards the box. Sa has great hands, but his feet are not so good. He does pass well to the other goalie. Armstrong is out of sync. Lots of running into offside positions, which is just as well, as no one knows he's there or even looks up! I've started to get excited when we reach the halfway mark, but I worry we'll have too many players moving forward and have no one to pass back to! Come on Wolves!!.
🐺
28 Feb 2026 07:00:24
You were saying, Gig, BoS? Great team work, great result. Wolves forever. 😁
28 Feb 2026 15:49:49
Spot on RolloWolf. 😂😂😂
27 Feb 2026 19:07:26
Still no game for Rodrigo., somebody please explain! It's pathetic.!
27 Feb 2026 19:44:35
I don't get it either, Prestonwolf. Someone said he doesn't perform well in training, but I think it matters more in matches rather than training. I understand a little if he is very poor in training; however, he seems a good lad who always gives everything.
27 Feb 2026 19:56:47
I do think he's more of an impact player at the moment, Banksy & Preston, Jackson a little more experienced to start with, but I'm with you, he deserves more match time, and he is really promising.
We've nothing to lose now. Bragging rights tonight accepted, so let's see what we can do, a bit new, a bit different.Difficult tonight. Expect defeat; I did against Arsenal, so who knows? Coyw.
27 Feb 2026 15:53:19
Wolves have already confirmed that the players have a relegation clause in their contracts of a wage cut of between 30% - 50%.
27 Feb 2026 16:20:38
Sounds good in theory, rko. The problem is top Championship players (and I mean top star players); their top end is the 30k a week mark. Now, someone like Jackson, who is on a reported 60 grand a week, will be on between 30 and 40 grand a week depending on his clause. In no one's works, not even the deluded Jeffs, is he worth that, especially in the Championship.
I think we will lose at least 80 percent of the playing squad when we go down; relegation clauses or not, they will all still be on a ridiculous amount for the Championship. Our income is going to be slashed. Parachute payments won't put a dent in the money we owe, which is circa the 300 million mark. Make no mistake, we are deep in the brown stuff financially.
27 Feb 2026 19:40:40
Agreed, De wolf, mate. Most of our squad will be gone, most due to wages; the rest because they're cowards.
27 Feb 2026 15:11:43
Apparently we can effectively be relegated as early as middle of March depending on results. Depressing but inevitable I guess, any chance of a win tonight?
Will be watching but only on TV tonight, used to look forward to watching not sure I do anymore.
27 Feb 2026 16:14:11
I've read that on the BBC, Banksy, if we don't win any of our next 3, and other results go against us, then we will be the earliest relegated team in the history of the Prem. Take a bow, Fosun.
27 Feb 2026 18:53:49
Well done Fosun. You must be so proud of yourselves.

26 Feb 2026 13:35:53
Good read Ed001 agree with your comments on Arsenal time wating especially Trossard. The comments about Belgarde are interesting he seems to be a love you or hate you footballer. One game he's good the next he's nowhere to be seen and you wonder why he's on the pitch.
{Ed001's Note - I struggle to see the good game mate.}
26 Feb 2026 19:13:17
To be truthful, I struggle to see a good game in most of them, and that's why we're getting relegated.
{Ed001's Note - that is a very fair point!}
27 Feb 2026 08:35:29
Thanks Ed, I was wondering why tossard was taken off when there was nothing wrong with him, all down to having to wait 30 seconds on the sideline.
{Ed001's Note - yes mate, worked out well for him!}
27 Feb 2026 09:56:34
Good post Ed and very true, but please please, Edozies goal was on target and going in despite the Arsenal guys attempted block and it was the power behind the shot that had the momentum to carry it in.
That's why it is indeed Edozies.
I believe those are suppose to be the criteria in awarding goal or own goal, but of course I stand to be corrected.
{Ed001's Note - as I saw it, it was blocked and then knocked in afterwards, which would make it an own goal.}
27 Feb 2026 10:31:09
Good write-up, cheers Ed. Sorry Abbey, mate, but I have to agree with Ed here. Whilst I'm obvs delighted for Edozie getting a goal on his debut, the reason he was shocked to be told the news in the post-match interview is because, like the rest of us, he saw it was an own goal! Yes, Edozie hit it sweetly enough, and it was indeed going on target, but then (was it) Gabriel cleared it off the line, giving the ball forward momentum.
With this forward momentum, it was heading away from the goal until it hit Calafiorie and ricocheted in! Essentially, had Calafiorie not been where he was, then the ball was cleared off the line?! So, whilst delighted for Edozie, I've no idea how he was given it?!
{Ed001's Note - yeah, that was how I saw it but I am glad for Edozie.}
27 Feb 2026 11:28:02
Fair dos chaps, I'll stand corrected, but I obviously should have studied the replay more. That said, it was the dream for Edozie on his debut to be given it, maybe that swayed things his way in the end, but if he hadn't connected with it, it wouldn't have happened at all. Well done, lad.
25 Feb 2026 13:03:48
What players, if any, in our current squad are good enough for mid Premier League?
My thoughts are possibly Hugo, Santi, Krejci, Mosquera, Joao, Andre and Mane. I like Rodrigo sometimes however there must be something not correct as managers tend to not play him.
If the list above is fair, our strikers are not good enough, not difficult to assume this looking at goals scored.
Even so, if we have perhaps 7 players good enough for mid table PL it suggests, in my opinion, we are under performing, whether this is due to managers or the club as a whole, I would imagine it is a combination of both.
I think it would be wrong to continue in the same way for the remainder of the season, if we continue to lose games something has to change, we all know it is normally the manager that pays the price. The hangover from this season will drift into the next unless the slide and continual losses stop, my opinion anyway.
If we do change managers who do we get and who can we convince to join the madness?
25 Feb 2026 16:15:34
I think it is due to the negativity of the fan base.
25 Feb 2026 17:04:50
Haha, it's almost March and we have just got to double digits. I think it's an absolute miracle that the fans are as positive as they are! Maybe it's up to the players and manager to give us something to be positive about. 🤣
25 Feb 2026 17:28:58
Very good post, Banksy. Mid-table might be a bit, (very in one or two cases), optimistic for all 7, but I take your point. Add JSL, who, when not a traffic cone, is a top half player, and it is clear that Vitor and then RE, (albeit to a lesser extent and with confidence totally drained from the squad), have hugely under-performed. As a defence of RE, the squad is obviously too small, (in talent terms just 7 or 8 players, you say), and is unbalanced, (absence of creativity and goal scoring) - but we have been saying that on here for the past 4 years! All in all, though, the performance has been beyond pathetic. Sadly, though, although the current side might, if it performed to its ability level (which, as we are saying, it hasn't this season), be competitive in the Champ, probably 5 of that 7 or 6 of the 8 will have gone by the time the new season comes round. This is on top of a number of other squad members who, whilst not good enough for mid table Prem, would have been adequate in the Champ. It is thus difficult to say how the team will do next season, as most of them aren't playing regularly at the club yet.
This 5 year self-inflicted destruction of a good Premiership team is, of course, entirely due to Jeff/Fosun's mismanagement of Wolves football team's finances. However, whilst we think the club/team is very important, I doubt Jeff/Fosun consider its success on the pitch to be of any consequence whatsoever. The club/brand is/was a vehicle to drive revenue streams for Fosun. What they don't understand, because they know nothing about football and have been appallingly badly let down by their advisors, in the long term is that the only way to make money in football is to win games. Sadly, once the cold winds of relegation finally hit them they will realise, albeit far too late! Handsome, ironically, one of the reasons why Fosun has been able to do this so easily is because the fans - some still do - believe Fosun have the team's interests at heart and did not react soon enough. I'm not sure if Fosun would have responded any differently, but over the last 5 years the fans have been unbelievably, and sadly, very naively positive!
25 Feb 2026 18:37:03
So the only reason we are where we are is down to fan negativity? Thanks for clearing that up, I was beginning to wonder.
25 Feb 2026 19:01:51
I think Handsome might be being sarcastic, folks (I hope so!), due to what Edwards said about the fans, that they should be more positive. 🤣 I mean, I've been positive we are going down for weeks, if that helps. I'm actually amazed there haven't been riots with the stunts Old Teflon Jeff/Fosun have pulled.
25 Feb 2026 19:50:46
The only players we have who are good enough to remain in the Premier League are: Santi, Hugo, Krejci, Andre, Joao and Mane. Of these, Joao would get into most PL teams. The rest are mid-table cannon fodder. On a good day, maybe Sa and Bellegarde look like they could cut the mustard, but those performances are very few and far between.
Wolfe, Mosquera, Rodrigo, Lima, Jackson, Tolu and Armstrong look Championship level at best. Do is past his best. And Toti and Hwang, no comment.
26 Feb 2026 03:18:04
I think Handsomelad is mocking RE with what he said about the fns.
26 Feb 2026 07:45:28
The vast majority of our players are not good enough on a consistent basis for the Premier League. That's why we are where we are. Many of those mentioned as good enough can produce a high level, but equally can really let themselves down. That particularly applies to every one of our defenders, who have all been guilty of extraordinary lapses, Mosquera perhaps most of all.
Moving on to Joao, his standards have fallen immeasurably and his passing is poor, so I can't see how he'd get in most other Premier League teams and, currently, he seems to have fallen behind Andre in the pecking order. Hopefully it's just a temporary blip; otherwise his value will be impacted.
26 Feb 2026 10:19:32
I've just watched Sheffield United v Coventry and both those sides would beat us as it stands now.
26 Feb 2026 11:29:09
Handsome, apologies if I missed the humour.
26 Feb 2026 12:07:34
Yes, apologies, Handsome, but I'll just redirect my comment to RE and Fosun.
26 Feb 2026 15:34:49
Old Wulf, Joao hasn't fallen behind Andre in the pecking order. He's been out injured/fatigued.
26 Feb 2026 16:51:17
That's no excuse for his poor play when on the pitch, Good. The Palace winner was largely due to not staying with his man.
26 Feb 2026 17:25:08
True, but week after week, he seems to be the only one trying to press forward and make something happen.
26 Feb 2026 18:28:10
Interesting how we all view games differently, because my take is that he mostly slows games down and goes for the easy sideways or backwards pass rather than a progressive one (tackling and breaking up opposition play being his main attributes).
Trouble is that he and Andre are both similar, which is one reason why Angel has joined, but I'm not sure he'll be the answer either.
27 Feb 2026 09:50:00
I obviously see games the same there, Old Wulf, and I dunno about you, and maybe it was because of Angel, but I thought Andre was a lot more forward looking in J Gomes' absence?
27 Feb 2026 12:54:50
Probably going to get slated here, but just an opinion. I don't rate Gomes or Andre. Yes, we have average/below average players around them, but all I see are 2 players who just try to break up play. I have seen Gomes go on a few little runs here and there, but most of the time it is sideways and backwards passing.
They offer zero attacking threat and have poor passing ability. I guess after being spoilt with having the likes of Neves and Moutinho, it was always going to be difficult to fulfil those positions with the same quality.
27 Feb 2026 12:59:38
Maybe he was, Abbey, but too often for comfort, Andre underhits his passes, and that can lead to quick turnovers for the opposition. Basically, nearly all our players have frailties which opponents can, and regularly do, take advantage of at this level. As mentioned before, being consistently good and ironing out the individual blunders is necessary for success at Premier League level.
27 Feb 2026 15:02:51
No slating from me, Alex. They're decent players but nowhere near the likes of those you mention.
27 Feb 2026 16:35:05
Alex, of course, you are perfectly entitled to your opinion and the 2 points - the quality of Neves and Moutinho and the lack of quality around Andre and Gomes - are both valid and, unsurprisingly, reinforce your view. However, I fear you are going to be a very unhappy man for the next few years, as no one even close to their quality - Brazilian internationals, who will be playing at the very top level after leaving Wolves - is likely to play for the club in the foreseeable.
02 Mar 2026 09:07:46
I had a slice of humble pie on Friday night. Very good performance from both Andre and Gomes. Yes, I think once we go down and they both leave, I will probably have a slightly different view.
