Wolves banter 10
Use our rumours form to send us wolves transfer rumours.
28 Dec 2025 22:43:50
Would it be better for us to send out the players that want away on loan instead of selling them cheap? It might increase their value and would give certain players a chance to improve so they get in their respective international teams. Then we could potentially bring them back next season or loan them out for another season till we are back in the prem, risky and optimistic I know but worth a thought maybe? Seems a bit crazy just to get rid as some of them are good players with high potential but currently on a bad run of form.
Any thoughts on this suggestion?

The problem you have goat is they do not want to be here full stop, regardless of what division we are in, Larsen, j Gomes, Andre, arias, Lopez and Sa all want out. Personally I would get what we can for them in January and get players in who A- want to be here and B- will do a job in the championship next season.
There is no guarantee we will come straight back up either, in fact it’s a lot more likely we won’t
29 Dec 2025 11:29:21
Have these players said they don’t want to be here? I haven’t seen anything about that, seems strange that Larsen signed a new contract but doesn't want to be here and same with the new signings, why did they sign if they don’t want to be here? Or is this just speculation?
29 Dec 2025 12:26:39
Job security and guaranteed wages Goatmark?.
Seriously I can't see them dedicated to us and wanting to play championship football, so let them go for the appropriate fee.
29 Dec 2025 12:27:49
I used to work at the club goat, a few years ago now but still have friends that work there and I can say 100 percent that I know at least 3 players have told the club they want out in January, who they are I don’t know that, but I would say it’s three of the people I said above but can see all of them going.
It’s obvious certain players do not want to be here you don’t have to have “insider” knowledge to see that.
Just look at the body language of Larsen, arias for example, they may as well be running around with for sale signs on their shirts
29 Dec 2025 15:23:38
In that case let’s hang on to them but loan them out to teams other than those in the Prem. Great idea Goatmark1.
If they can’t be ar**d why should Wolves?
29 Dec 2025 19:45:11
Fair enough Dwwg, I can see it being the two Brazilians as they prob want to be playing for their country, I’d hope the new signings would give it more time but equally they might see staying as too damaging. Going to be an interesting transfer window.
28 Dec 2025 15:50:59
Still me but the 4th incarnation for some reason?
Just noticed that Calvert Lewin has scored again.
In the summer I suggested him as a v v cheap option - free transfer and similar wages to JSL or roughly half the cost of Tolu wages and amortised fee- but sadly the club didn't agree.
Reading back the thread however it appears that even on here "Madman" to be fair to him agreed.
Given he is homegrown and was (and seemingly remains) a solid top half Prem player that seems like a pretty poor decision and Wolves loss has been Leeds gain!

For some reason VP and co just didn’t entertain home grown players, Harry Wilson apparently another player touted but ignored in favour of players from abroad who just have not cut it in the premier, we are now paying the price.
28 Dec 2025 16:09:40
Tfig to be honedt Wolves could have any striker but with out the service there useless. That is the problem at Wolves no creative players Wolves have 2 strikers in Larsenand Tolu. But if they don't get the service what is the point of being on the pitch.
I've called Larsen more than enough but to be honest he's chasing shadows for most of the match. Only now since Mane and Tolu have stsrted have Wolves looked like a threatwhen Larsen came on he looked a lot better than he has been.
28 Dec 2025 18:38:05
A slightly different post, wouldn’t it be interesting to see an expose on the going ons in the last five years especially from the ex managers
28 Dec 2025 20:35:20
Ex-managers sign NDAs (non-disclosure agreements). In effect, they're paid to shut their gobs. It's only money that talks!
28 Dec 2025 15:31:01
Does anyone know how Lima is getting on out on loan, likewise Traore?
I agree with others on priorities, new GK, 2 new midfielders and a striker.
Would like some pace and a creative player who can pass, Neves not likely but a similar player who can take free kicks, corners and play forward passes.
Guess a lot depends on who leaves and which positions, seems likely that this will be left to Rob, hope he does better than VP and Co in the summer.
Still have reservations and concerns if we continue to lose, not sure how long they will keep Rob in this situation. In a few more games, think we have Man Utd, West Ham and Everton lose these 3 that will be 10 in a row, can they really keep Rob if this happens?

Lima has 9 appearances for Porto B in the Portuguese 2nd division while Traore has played 13 games and scored once (no assists) for Metz who sit bottom of League 1 in France. Don't think either are pulling up any trees.
28 Dec 2025 17:40:09
Cheers Old Wulf not the best then, unfortunately
28 Dec 2025 13:09:42
Would anybody take Ross Barkley on loan from Villa in jan I know he's 32 but a lot of experience. Likes to get forward and can score goals losing either Gomes or Andre need some one plus others.

Well now January is on the doorstep it won't be long before fans can begin to see what Fosun's master plan is going to be. For RE in my opinion it is a career defining window. I am still not convinced as to how much control a Wolves manager has on signings but RE needs to be given some building blocks for next season. I can't see huge investment as our position in the league will put most off except for moneygrabbers. I would prioritise a strong leader and a striker that can cut it in the Champ.
Surridge might be a good chance but I don't know enough of him tbh. Josh Sargent at Norwich might be a bet, Nuno is after him but politics there at WH may play a part. It will be interesting if Fosun opt to ditch their policy to buy unproven players to try to develop talent and then cash in. I can't see this happening but I can only see disaster if they continue with this.
Waiting with lackluster anticipation. Have a good new year all.

Surridge averages 1 goal evey 5 games so would probably be an option for next season.
28 Dec 2025 13:41:14
Everyone will have different ideas on who to let go in January, but the reality is we will get more for whomsoever leaves, in January than we will in the Summer. My list of players to sell, if they can attract buyers is, Johnstone and Sa if we can attract a replacement. Tchatchouchoua and, need a new wing back as Doherty cannot play there anymore.Wolfe or Bueno, Andre and Gomes, both are so easily by-passed and JSL, enough said for that choice.
Priority buys: goalkeeper, two mobile centre midfielders, with the ability to run forward with the ball and pick a pass and a fast paced striker.
28 Dec 2025 08:11:51
As always, be an interesting team selection for Man Utd. Mosquera went off injured I think so that leaves us with Santi, Krejci and Doc as the possible back 3. Add to this that Andre got a yellow and is therefore not available we have only Joao in midfield.
Could play Krejci there, however that would then mean a back 4 with Doc and Santi as centre backs.
Who would have thought that we would end up short in midfield having let Doyle and Traore leave, couldn’t understand this decision then, just madness.

All thanks to our esteemed owners banksy, been cashing in on the club for years and now it’s come home to roost
28 Dec 2025 15:01:35
Can't help feeling that until doc had a word in his ear yesterday Andre was trying to get himself sent off.
27 Dec 2025 23:15:11
With all respect to Liverpool and Jota’s family it would have been nice for one of the family to have had a nod to his time at Wolves.

I said that. was all about Liverpool. Why couldn't one kid wear gold and black.
{Ed001's Note - because they are all Liverpool fans at Anfield. Wolves didn't invite them, Liverpool did. It is Liverpool that are continuing to pay his wages to the widow and has set up college funds for the kids, not Wolves. All they have of Wolves is a few fond memories.}
27 Dec 2025 20:12:45
Sad to say that in my opinion Doherty is neither a Premier or Championship player let alone a Captain.
His legs have gone, has no pace or tactical awareness any more.
As for Hwang I am frankly speechless.
I very much doubt he would get in a decent Works League team.
Surely RE can see this, we have serious problem if he can’t and he himself needs a “reset”…not the club.

I like Doc a lot. Has tons of experience and can still do a job especially in the championship. Atleast he tries and the way he was calling out his team mates the other week telling them to work harder and not take the easy way out shows what he is about.
He is always one player that seems to be slated by many wolves fans. He would be a good choice for a captain.
28 Dec 2025 14:57:30
I think doc is certainly at least championship quality, he seems to understand the game quite well and is clever when needed, for example when he won the pen against Brentford, not sure how much other members of the squad would be smart enough to do so.

Edward's said on Express and Star he is fed up with losing. Hello Mr Edward's we are all fed up with losing. Find a solution. I see Jimenez scored again.

We shouldn’t have let Jimenez go. We ay had a decent striker since.
Then again we should have let Nuno go, we ay had a decent manager since.
We ay had a decent captain since Coady either.
When I say ‘We’ I mean ‘Fosun’ of course.
28 Dec 2025 13:08:39
Jimenez was sold due to his wages, Nuno was sacked for disagreeing with Jeff, he wanted tammy Abraham but Jeff decided silva was the better player, coady fell out with the club due to a contract extension being withdrawn, that was on lage, ruddy, saiss and boly all had the same.
The crux of the problem is the owners plain and simple, people think that we will just “bounce back” from the championship need to give their heads a wobble
27 Dec 2025 17:18:30
The positives for me, Mane looks a good player and Tolu offered more than JSL. First half we were poor, just defending with very little threat other than Mane going forward.
If we had played the same as we did in 2nd half from the start may have got something. Not sure why we just seem to set up to defend because never going to keep a clean sheet.
At HT ready to sack Rob myself, 2nd half better. Think they will stick with him, however he has to pick players that perform, continue with Mane and Tolu, would rather play someone else other than Hwang.

27 Dec 2025 17:37:48
Should have said they will stick with Rob for now.
I am not sure if he is the best manager available to us, however, think they will allow him more games. If we still continue to lose regardless of performances eventually he has to go. Not sure though who they can get to replace him?
27 Dec 2025 18:23:38
He won't be going anywhere Banksy mate, we wouldn't want to pay another one off, and who in there right mind would want us? Unless they were just after money.
There was a lot to.ponder football wise today, from January departures, tactics, abilities confidence and team spirits.
My only genuine conclusion was the old complaint that we havnt got anyone on pitch dictating things, both verbally or play wise.
Concentration was lacking, anticipation was poor both defensively and offensively.
OK Liverpool are a talented organised team and they know the prem, the ref was a little red eyed at times when it came to free kick awards but we showed naivity in movement and thought, hwang being one of the offenders and really must be offloaded, although he'd most prob be ok in championship.
Thought Mane was showing a lot of what we've missed, Santi a good game with the passion, maybe a remainder?
Hugo I like, Wolfe will go I'd imagine. Gomez Andre unproductive.
Tolu could be a menace, larsen bye bye.
Sa will be on his way .
Then start picking over the scraps.
If RE is going to make a fist of it in the championship he'd better have some experienced names in mind who want the old gold neon blue or greeny or whatever shirt we now wear as I'm sure the variety we now sport dosnt help. We're B***dy Wolverhampton wanderers not sport shop dummies, but then again.?
27 Dec 2025 18:33:47
Banksy51 watched the match firtst hald just defendend and all of a sudden 2 nill down. Secound half came out fighting scored a goal Liverpoil under the cosh. But even when Larsen came on Wolves never got the ball to the by line putting in crosses from stupid angles. They looked scared to try to get to the byline which made it even harder to score.
Tolu and Mane were excellent but just to timid come Jan sell everybody but Tolu Mane Krejci Santi and H Beuno. To me all the rest can go RE has to biuld a team from scratch with them 5 to go down and get straight back.
27 Dec 2025 18:48:41
Agree with you both Abbey and DMac, shame it has taken so long to play Mane and Tolu from the start of a game. Like it or not, Rob more than likely will stay and will have his opportunity with transfers.
Just not sure what happens if he gets to say 10 losses in a row, hope it doesn’t happen.
JSL will leave I expect in January more than likely with Arias, Lopez, Agbadou and no doubt a few others.
27 Dec 2025 18:54:22
Right on Abbey!
27 Dec 2025 20:52:34
Thanks for the Xmas wishes Abbey. Much better performance today great that Tolu and Mane started and played well. Reality check was a reminder on 5 live that Wirtz who is class player cost £116 million difficult for us to compete against that level of spending power. The sad reality is not today’s result but losing to teams with similar spending budgets. The January transfer window will be a good indication of the clubs commitment but because of our position it’s going to be difficult to attract any prem and promotion chasing championship players.
Therefore in my opinion we should be targeting the best players from the championship teams that are outside the promotion race with Premiership experience my suggestions would be Hamer, O’Hare, Harwood-Bellis, Manning and Sargent. Unfortunately the club have lost the trust of the fans and so this is their opportunity to turn the situation around and let’s hope they do or the future could be very bleak
