I give up with this manager another 5 changes.

Think I'll go back home lost interest.

I presume Lopez is not fully fit and Djiga injured.
Time for Armstrong to do his job and start scoring.

I was optimistic this morning but having just seen the team, I'm not confident. Hopefully I'm proved wrong but this seems to be becoming a season of failure.

If Lopez is fit, why usbellegarde in before him,
If he's not fit, whys he on the bench
Some odd decisions,,, but if we win
He will be hailed.

Compared to other managers currently operating across the Championship, Peixoto sits in the cautious, possession based control freak category. He isn't a high-intensity, total football pressing coach, nor is he a classic Championship direct long ball manager.

1. The Direct Comparison: John Mousinho (Portsmouth)

Like Peixoto, Mousinho favors a structured 4-2-3-1 setup that values patience, neat positional shape, and controlling phases of the match.

Mousinho allows his team to take more vertical risks in transitions to get wingers isolated in space early. Peixoto prefers recycling the ball across the back line to reset structure, which leads to lower-risk, side-to-side build-ups.

2. The Contrast: Alex Neil (Millwall) / Nathan Jones (Charlton)

Classic Championship attrition. Jones and Neil play direct, high intensity, second ball football, getting into the opposition box as fast as possible through physical battles, aerial channels, and long passes.

Peixoto completely rejects that chaotic style. He insists on slow, methodical build up through the center-backs. However, when teams sit in a low block against him, his possession lacks the speed needed to break them down, making it feel sterilising compared to direct sides.

3. The Elite Possession Benchmark: Chris Davies (Birmingham City)

Dominated League One and brought an aggressive, high-pressing, fluid 4-3-3 system into the Championship. Davies uses possession to pin teams into their own 18 yard box, combining high turnover metrics with rapid central combinations.

Both average similar ball share, but Davies uses possession to attack. Peixoto uses possession primarily as a defensive shield. Rankings show Wolves sit near the bottom (22nd) for winning the ball back in the final third, proving Peixoto prefers a controlled mid block squeeze over an aggressive high press.

Peixoto operates like a manager trying to play top flight European structural football in a division that rewards sharp acceleration and direct physical threat. It produces stable results (7th place, +6.5 xG difference), but it can be exhausting to watch when facing stubborn defenses.

CP just needs to stick with the same bloody lineup instead of completely changing it every game and throwing the players off. I get that injuries are an issue but come on.

Please get rid of SA and get new chap in goal he looked so much better vs Everton than SA ever has at wolves. Mane is losing the fans because he thinks he is prime Messi. Rodrigo needs to come back in as soon as he is fit again because said doesn't know how to play football. Djiga and krejci should stick as starting CB as they look quite good.

Tripps needs to do a lot more otherwise CP will start Jackson more. Chirewa really is trying now and good on him for that. Armstrong is not a good striker as he does nothing all game. Munetsi runs around the pitch for 70 mins and then gets subbed for Doyle who puts a crap 20 min shift in and then looks terribly sad at the end.

Don't even get me started on Toti. Hugo needs to step up, maybe give him the armband as Toti or SA don't want it nor do they deserve it. Andre can't start every move from DM and needs some help which Fer is doing well but Munetsi isnt. Konan looks quite good which is unexpected.

Why did we have 2 GK on the bench last game. Ruddy wasn't even wearing a kit so why waste the space. Get Edozie on the bench for Ruddy or Doyle.

Sorry for the rant but really needed it at the moment.

1-0 wolves Fer Lopez scores 57th minute.

Don't think we will ever be as good as the old nuno days and the squad we had good times gone but not forgotten but today let's remember Kenny jacket and what he done.

24 Oct 2026 08:32:05
Isn't sad, I wake up match day, think about the game and I'm not excited.
I don't know what it'll be, but since the baggies it's been boring, frustrating let downs and I dunno if I want to endure it again.
Sure I'll be there when it KOs.

Yes I'll be hoping for what now will have to be miracles.
I just can't get enthused about us, get me hopes up and for sure I feel ill be let down.
So from 3 till 5 it'll be an endurance test.
COYW.

There have been many trying times for us Wolves fans. think what makes this feel worse however is that before we were poor and trying to get by on pennies, now we have one of the wealthiest owners in the country and we have seen what can be achieved when they sticks their hands in their pockets.

If we hadn't seen such riches we could live with being poor!

FOSUN OUT.

Two of the three best teams in the league currently are Middlesboro and West Ham who are both leading in goals scored. Wolves have been beaten by both. Wolves have a long way to go to reach their heights. Bolton beat Wolves at Molineux and conceded five at home to Middlesboro.

24 Oct 2026 08:44:24
Isn't that typical football mate not that i'm accepting the defeat against Bolton it was unacceptable.

24 Oct 2026 09:44:05
Agreed Lindsay, people can say it's CP and maybe some of it is but here we are again with yet another manager let down by recruitment! Looks at the stats from last night's Boro game, Crozier and Lanksheer absolutely ran that game and between them took Bolton apart!

They were bought in for very little up front fees (I believe around £15m) and they will likely see Boro promoted. We on the other hand despite all the empty promises, went back to the bargain basement of free transfers and cheap players from smaller leagues.

Honestly, I feel like I'm living in groundhog day! It's just a rinse and repeat of the following steps for the last 5/6 years! 1. Get a new manager 2.sell him down the river with poor/cheap recruitment 3.wait for the fans to turn on him and say he's not up to the job (despite him never having a squad up to the standard of the expectations set) 4.sack manager take three months to find a new one and go back to instruction one!

Honestly, I'm just so bored of Fosun by now, it's just all lies and the mad thing is it seems to work! Cause it's always the manager that takes the heat and not the board that's sent him out with half the talent that he truly needs to get the job done! 😭.

BB you are far too kind to the club.
Wolves spent not massively different to Boro, just spent it insanely stupidly.
Bertrand Traore, who may well never pull on a shirt, earns not far short of double what Lankshear and Cozier earn put together!

The "surplus" from Traore's salary plus the fee for Said virtually pays for the upfront fee for Lankshear and Cozier is on loan with only a modest loan fee.
In other words even if Said only earns a very modest wage the total outlay for the 2 is roughly the same.

Wolves appear to have bought two very modest players who will make little to no impact in the league. Boro as you say have acquired 2 players who are leading them to a possible promotion.

If Wolves had simply reversed the deals and had Lankshear and Cozier instead of Said and Bertrand T they almost certainly would be top of the table and probably home and dry!
Mind blowingly stupid.

PS, the 2 Boro boys are HG as well. The 2 Wolves are not!

3

23 Oct 2026 21:44:04
Many have suggested that CP is not the man to correct things and improve the team to such a degree that it would be capable of mounting a successful campaign to get promotion, I would include myself in that group.
So the obvious question is who replaces him should he indeed go.

Now some have suggested Sean Dyche for obviously.
I'm not altogether convinced by that selection.
So who would it be, please keep in mind how many failures we've had since Nuno. Thoughts?

23 Oct 2026 23:14:03
Personally, I think Cesar can win us promotion. He has changed the style of play. Yes we look useless at times but it's a lot better than the Rob Edwards and Vitor Periera styie.

Raul is a massive miss as he is so intelligent in his play and simply drags the opposition out of position enabling the others to exploit the space.

If Fosun back him (which they most probably won't) I think we'll be there or there abouts.

2

24 Oct 2026 07:45:06
No way is the current style any better than that of Edwards or Pereira. That first half I had the misfortune to sit through against Pompey was the most turgid 45 minutes I've witnessed at Molineux in a long while.

It's clear from Peixoto's comments that he thought it was bad also but he's the one responsible for sending them out to play like that. Safety first, pass it back and across with no risk taking is not my kind of style I'm afraid.

3

24 Oct 2026 10:23:19
That was the worst half of football i've ever seen in my life vs Pompey. And we could have been watching PSG vs Barcelona.

CP football is dire to watch, and i dont like it.

watching Boro last night they were pure class against a team that smoked us lol.

The only positive is at least we're not Burnley.

If you ask A. I. the question : How much debt are Wolverhampton Wanderers in the answer it comes up with makes interesting reading to say the least, little wonder Fosun stopped signing players and haven't unearthed anyone of note to invest in the Club, a Club that was debt free when they purchased it on the cheap.

3

23 Oct 2026 16:58:48
Ron - you don't need to ask AI.
The club/company publishes accounts. The debt is clearly stated in those accounts.
As I have posted many many times over the past few years it has increased very substantially - you could say in an uncontrolled fashion - over those years.

How and why is of course far from clear.
Wolves have spent virtually nothing net on players, have clearly spent minimally on the property assets, the ground etc and had one of the lowest playing wage bills in the Premier league.
So where has the money gone?

4

23 Oct 2026 18:04:20
To Fuson, to cover there losses that Fuson, owned companies have lost. Fusons profits are down and useing money that Wolves make to cover there losses. Thats wy since Jan Wolves have sold players to the value of 180mill to 200mill. And spent 40 mill if that wheres the rest. Plus all the players out on loan wages saved its an incredible amount of money.

4

24 Oct 2026 08:01:55
We may not like it but Wolverhampton Wanderers is just a small little island somewhere in the Pacific to Fosun. No way can the money clawed out of WV1 cover losses or paper over the cracks of a £2.62 billion loss in 2025!Wolves represented just 0.6% of the total group deficit.

Figures for 2026 indicate a profit of £192.6m as a result of aggressive business streamlining which hasn't yet included Wolves because we're such a relative drop in the ocean and is probably why we always end up with Shi from accounts as chairman!

Why the Football Feels So Sterile Under Peixoto
Slow, Risk-Averse Build-Up:
Peixoto relies heavily on a structured 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 setup that prioritizes keeping the ball over breaking lines. Against Championship low blocks (like Portsmouth), it turns into "U-shaped" possession—passing side-to-side between the center-backs and full-backs while waiting for individual magic rather than coaching actual combination play in the final third.

No Overloads or Late Runs:
Unlike modern high-intensity coaches, Peixoto's systems keep the rest-defense strictly balanced. The full-backs rarely commit high enough to create genuine 2v1 overloads on the wings, leaving wingers completely isolated.

Over-Reliance on Individual Moments:
Without clear patterns of play, the team relies almost entirely on talent (like Fer López or Jordan James) pulling something out of nothing rather than systematic chance generation.

23 Oct 2026 11:47:29
yes totally agree.

I have said to people before that he is no good tactically. He is unable to change the game using tactics and just hopes that the subs made come up with something special.

6

23 Oct 2026 16:34:21
Who is good tactically these days ? If you have to make five subs every match I would sugest you're picking the wrong team. Most substitutions are made to waste time or to keep players happy and has very little to do with what's happening on the pitch, hardly any subs are used for their original intent of replacing injured players. "Tactical" subs ruined the game years ago, breaking up the game and spoiling what used to be entertainment, subs should only replace injured players and players subbed off should automatically miss the next game, fans pay to watch the best players available to their Club, not to watch half the team replaced by second string players during the game, that's why they all became squad players instead of reserves and are allocated a shirt number so they don't have to win one, as the advert goes.Games gone.

Number 4
CBs
An area where frankly,(and astonishingly), you should acknowledge Wolves have done very well.
The 4 first choice options are Djiga, Yerson, Toti and Krejci.
Conveniently the first 2 are RCBs and the second 2 are LCBs
My first pair would be Djiga and Krejci.

At this level, (and I genuinely believe, albeit perhaps giddily on the basis of Djiga's astonishing transformation, that they could step up if Wolves were to be promoted), they are a class act.

The big question that will be screaming out to some of you is Krejci's attitude and desire to be here.

Clearly that is a question that only he really knows the answer to. To date though for me at least his on-field performances do not indicate that there is an issue. His regular absences do cast doubts though.

Again only he and the club know if the injuries are real but at the moment I am still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Some will and indeed have also questioned if he is as good as his pedigree would indicate.
He is good on the ball and is strong in the air but is perhaps a little less than rapid.

However I believe that his ability to read the game and his power and strength mitigates this lack of real pace and indeed I firmly believe he already is a premier league quality player.

He was bought for a high fee but is surprisingly on reasonably modest wages at least relative to some other squad members - although clearly they are very high for a championship player!

Finally the fact that he is clearly both more than capable of playing at CM and an experienced and consistently successful penalty taker is a bonus.
His partner though is one of the 2 major success stories of the season.
When Djiga was bought for £10m, (albeit on very modest wages), he looked like he was a complete write off and was sent out on what I gather was not a totally successful loan to Scotland.

However after gaining his place due to Yerson's injury he has rapidly transformed into a diamond!

Good on the ball - perhaps my only criticism is that he overplays occasionally - strong in the air and in the tackle he has been the rock in the Wolves defence.

Again it is only a small sample but at the moment it looks like he could easily step up.
The back ups are obviously by definition not as good as the first choices.
However Yerson, despite his horrendous initial run of injuries and his somewhat erratic on field antics, has developed into a solid uncompromising defender who I still believe has a potential Prem defender in him.
He was bought for pennies and is on very modest money.

Even Toti, who I have criticised massively, has a great attitude, tries very hard and is a decent athlete which means, like Jackson, he is an adequate defender. Sadly like Jackson, although not as bad, Toti is a car crash on the ball.
He was also bought for nothing but bizarrely and totally unexplainably he has been put on a ludicrous contract so is obviously totally unsaleable.

However although for me he is not even a Championship player in a back 4, he showed with better players around him - (RAN was amazing at helping him out by taking all sorts of rubbish passes from him and using his brilliance to clean things up and Dawson was brilliant in helping him with his positioning/thinking) - that he could and indeed did play regularly in the Prem in a 5.

However if Wolves are to play him regularly even at this level let alone in the Prem he does need to be protected and have most of his ball playing responsibilities removed.

This is not possible in the current system or with the current squad but if by some miracle the club was promoted AND signed a quality LB, (please can we have RAN back now that he is 3rd choice at city), who could take over his ball playing duties then even he, particularly in a 5, could be a 4th option in the Prem.

23 Oct 2026 11:08:44
Thank you very much.
I am trying to analyse each position using three factors.
Financials - wages and fees.
Forward planning - suitability for next year and beyond in whichever division the club is playing
and finally the level of competence for this season.
Gks are pretty poor on the first two counts and only modestly adequate on the 3rd.
RBs are a disaster on all 3 counts - especially as Trippier seems incapable of performing to the level expected or indeed even getting onto the pitch regularly
LBs although cheap as chips are merely adequate on the 3rd count and need massive optimism to imagine competence on the 2nd issue.

CBs however apart from Krejci's fee and Toti's inexplicable wages score well on all three counts even if on count 2 it does require an element of faith.
DMs etc still to come.

23 Oct 2026 12:01:18
Personal opinion i would have kept Bueno over Krejci. Bueno reads the game better and positions himself better. Krejci has a habit of being out of position. I still think he is a good player but wouldn't surprise me if he is gone in Jan.

0

23 Oct 2026 12:12:49
Agree that Krejci and Djiga are our best pairing but Toti (footballing reasons) and Mosquera (attitude) are liabilities for me. Mosquera clearly hasn't learnt while out injured as he could easily have got himself sent off the other night despite only being on the pitch for a few minutes.

Although raw, Olaganju who is only 19 looks promising and his performance at Sheffield Wednesday was excellent.
I think you can forget RAN coming back but he'd get exposed in a back 4 anyway and I don't think we should be reverting to a 5 anytime soon.

23 Oct 2026 13:50:12
Alex - he may well be - although it appears that Wolves are not willing on this occasion to sell cheaply.
Consequently it will require someone very keen and obviously someone who rates him far higher than you do.
Note Santi's option price is a fraction of the fee that seemingly will be required to sign Krejci.
It is of course all about opinions but for me Santi is just too slow - Krejci isn't quick but he looks like Bolt compared to Santi.
Old both points you make re Toti and Yerson are v fair.
oti obviously will never improve as a footballer but I believe that a good manager with better players might be able to hide him sufficiently to make him a 4th choice - note he is going nowhere due to his stupid contract so Wolves really have no option but to go down that route.
Yerson just needs to grow up and again a better manager should be able to get him to achieve that.

Then for me he becomes a real option.
Maybe the young ex Chelsea lad could get some game time in the FA cup and maybe be used as bench cover some weeks to see if he can step up.
Re RAN of course you are correct. Wolves can't afford him and he would be far too good to be at Wolves anyway. You are obviously correct to say he would be better in a 5 but i think he is a million miles better than any of Hugo, Trippier, Jackson or Konan and Wolves are playing them in a 4 in the Champ.
I still cling to a stupid dream that Wolves will be promoted, Fosun will re engage and the sun will come up on Neves leading a massive revival of the club's fortunes.
In that case RAN even only on loan from Man City looks like a great idea.
Of course it is a stupid dream but at my age dreaming is for free!

23 Oct 2026 20:11:13
KREJCI is not a match winning defender. he cant keep clean sheets.

TOTI on his day actally is.

i much prefer krejci in midfield and he'd be good there next to andre.

0

23 Oct 2026 21:05:32
Interesting point "owt" I agree 50%.
I would like to pick Krejci in midfield where I think he would be great alongside Andre and James.
Note with the players currently available as I have said before I would go 4,3,2,1 with those 3 in mid and Lopez and Mane behind a cf - which tragically would have to be Armstrong even though he is clearly not a good number 9 but that is another issue - wait till I gt to the number 9 in the series to read my views on that debacle!
However I disagree that Toti is a better defender than Krejci in fact I think Krejci is far superior to Toti who for me is definitely 4th choice CB due to his lack of ball playing abilities.

I recognise he is an adequate defender in a v limited role but Krejci is both a better defender and a far superior ball player.
For me Krejci is one of the better players in the squad - only obviously behind Andre and astonishingly this season Lopez and Djiga- and given he can play 2 roles really well - and in positions where the club is short of quality- it is a shame we don't have 2 of him!

Tolu and im not suggesting anything here just fyi he scored again.

22 Oct 2026 16:23:02
We can not register anyone now until January so it's no good signing someone on a free or recalling anyone.
We have 25 registered, the only exception is de-register a injured player or sign a emergency goalkeeper.
U21s are exempt so they can just play.

2

22 Oct 2026 16:44:46
Wolves have to leave the free transfers alone. Konan looks a pretty decent find, but Bertrand Traore looks to be a waste of money.

If Wolves don't go up this season, Trippier will have been and will continue to be a monstrous waste of money.

5

23 Oct 2026 09:34:00
Bertrand what little weve seen of him.is no worse than said.beats himself with the ball then gives it away.utter garbage. like doyle.and fgs tfig..ran is never coming back and please find something productive to do rather than speculate garbage on here!
