Excuse me but who is this fella Pixieloto and what has he achieved as a manager? Seems to me he has no experience whatsoever of English football or promotion and I just don't follow the thinking. Could this be another on Mendes radar who needs a job? Sounds rather like a roll of the Walter Zenga dice and look what happened there.

I fear anyone looking for a rapid return to the Premier League may have to wait for new owners at the Club. Inscrutable those who run Fosun.

He didn't need a new job. He was being courted by Benfica and had led G.V to their highest finish. He is regarded as a great up-and-coming manager who wants to play attacking football.

Sometimes, I think clubs just do the merry-go-round of managers, and will get behind our new gaffer. Let's give him a chance. We all knew change was needed, and a big clear out, and new, fresh ideas.

Mike, Walter Zenga (man in a suitcase) was hardly a considered appointment. Lopetegui was to take over and eventually let us down. Zenga was an emergency hiring. He never even moved to the UK, just flying in and out. I remember him in the team bus with his suitcase, ready to fly home after a match.

I don't think Nathan is repeating that mistake with the new guy. Just look at what Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford achieved with foreign coaches with a lack of English football experience.

Nuno.... Had we heard of him before he came to us? Dont think so.... Along with Raul Nevez Jota...... New beginnings. Hoping for a repeat.

Someone's done a YouTube video outlining his style of play.

His record as manager is: won 15, lost 15, drawn 16, or something I remember seeing. Jacked, sacked and resigned, now us!?

Nuno had coached in the Champions League.

I read that Tim Spiers wrote in The Athletic a couple of days ago that Wolves are not a serious football club. This story was reprinted in the New York Times. Tim goes on to say that if Rob's results last season were 'slightly better' and his relations with fans were also 'slightly better' he probably wouldn't be in this position! (Only slightly better Tim? ) Tim goes on to say it would have been more palatable if Kieron McKenna of Ipswich had been lined up as Rob's successor! Dream on Tim! Furthermore Tim says that we had the worst season in our 149 year history.

Does he not know our real history? I'm sure that Kieron McKenna is gutted that he didn't get a phone call from Nathan! The Athletic article is surprisingly nothing but a hit job.

I get the 'if only this or that' argument, but the facts are that Wolves under Rob Edwards were bloody awful, and he'd lost the fans. But, fair play, Tim Spiers. If Wolves had played attacking football and won 20 more points, and not been relegated, we wouldn't be in the position we're in now.

Yay! Top scorers. Only two games gone in the World Cup and we've scored in both of them. Now let's see it happen more often in a Wolves shirt

5

12 Jun 2026 23:16:47
I was going to say similar, 2 Wolves scorers so far, and even Hwang seemed to make a difference when he came on. By difference, I mean his team were losing, he's the only sub, and they equalise.

I am already beginning to wonder how many matches into the new season it will take before the club hierarchy get twitchy if results don't immediately go in our favour.
Just imagine if after 10 or so games they can see their chances of promotion slowly dwindling, what will their response be, stick or twist.

It's going to be a very interesting season.

Good point, Derry. I get why the club replaced Edwards (although the way of doing it seems unnecessarily harsh), but surely you only do it if your replacement has a good track record - at least two successful managerial appointments.

What we've got is a guy with a series of failures, followed by one moderately successful season and zero experience of English football. I can't see it ending well.

13 Jun 2026 06:58:34
If any players are furious over Edwards' sacking, they need to go.
Don't need them in the team. Yes, I don't agree with how Rob was sacked, but he will think of the compensation he will get. We could have stuck with Edwards and watched boring football all season and struggled.

Believe me, it's very competitive in the Championship. We need attacking football, not pissing about week in, week out, scoring hardly any goals. Let's hope this new bloke gets us playing good football, but we will have to wait and see.

It's a blinking shambles at Wolves. How they have dealt with Edwards is shocking. I can't understand if Trippier and Jimenez change their mind about signing for Wolves!! I just wish someone would buy Fosun out.

13 Jun 2026 14:34:15
So many supporters last season were being negative about Edwards and his lack of results, that includes motivating players, and just because, apparently, he spoke to two new signings and he is now sacked, the move is being questioned. Why? I think we all agree Wolves were beyond terrible last season, players and staff responsible. It is obvious, from the latter part of the season, that Edwards is not a motivator, nor tactical; a lot of his substitutions were questionable, and just cos many claim he is a nice bloke, it didn't stop us getting relegated, we needed change.

Now Fosun are allowing changes, fans are not happy with that. What are they supposed to do? What if Trippier and Raul were aware of the change coming, but kept quiet? Only the people involved know the real truth. I say stop this speculation, grab the changes Wolves are doing, be positive into the start of the new season. If, after a handful of games, we are crap, then criticise; if we are good, we'll be singing our way to the Premiership.

If Trippier wants to tear up his contract, let him. We only want players who want to be here. Perhaps Cody would be better bet?

5

12 Jun 2026 19:14:11
Unfortunately, Lostcity, Cody is nowhere near good enough these days.

Kierran Trippier
Interesting this one.
I think you will find that legally he can't opt out.
Trouble with new manager is he going to buy all foreign players & Trippier sits on the bench.
My daughter-in-law
Says it's contract signed so he has to play. Sour grapes I think.

I doubt this rumour is true, and it is more agent noise from Re to sow discord at his former employer. I would think that Trip knew that there was a potential change in manager happening, and he has been around long enough to see managers go.

He knows how the game is played. For him, the biggest thing is that he is on a great wage, has a great 2-3 years on a contract at his age, and is close to his kids.

12 Jun 2026 21:05:28
Maybe he's upset because he doesn't speak Portuguese. 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

3

12 Jun 2026 14:13:38
Will Rui Pedro Silva be staying? He was extremely influential under Nuno.

7

12 Jun 2026 14:39:39
Agreed Fat, I had the exact same thought. He's a well rated coach so I hope so as well. 👍

9

12 Jun 2026 16:52:10
The rumour yesterday was that Watling and Trollope had been sacked alongside Edwards, and Rui Silva had opted to leave of his own volition.

1

12 Jun 2026 17:03:24
Many thanks for that. I was hoping that the Portuguese connection may have helped to keep him. I wouldn't be surprised if he looks for his own managerial position. He is certainly a good tactician.

12 Jun 2026 21:07:00
Well, it obviously worked under Rob Edwards!

Sadly, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it.

Perhaps it was only Nuno who chose to drink?

Really sad news about Kenny Jackett. He did a brilliant job at Wolves, made some brave decisions binning some so called superstars and built a great team to get us back to the Championship. He was also a model professional as a player, tough no nonsense centre back at Watford. Thoughts are with his family and friends.

12 Jun 2026 13:28:01
Very sad news indeed. A true football gentleman, always gave everything to clubs he played for and managed. Had a lot of respect for him.
RIP Kenny Jackett.

12 Jun 2026 13:42:26
R.I.P Kenny. I enjoyed watching what you did for us. Thoughts to all your family & friends.

12 Jun 2026 13:47:52
RIP Kenny. You left every club in a better place than you found it. You certainly sorted Wolves out with that bomb squad of overpaid and underperforming 'stars'.

9

12 Jun 2026 14:06:17
Upsetting news. Kenny Jackett has passed away. God bless.

9

12 Jun 2026 15:01:04
I still remember the dark depths of despair in 2013, when Wolves were relegated to the 1st Division, but then came Kenny Jackett, who took on a very difficult job, got us back to the Championship in his first season with some brilliant attacking football, and then consolidated our place there.

He should have stayed another season; another Fosun error. I am so sad to learn of your passing. I am so pleased to have met you. Kenny Jackett. R.I.P.

12 Jun 2026 21:52:22
Agreed, 47vintage. Replacing him with Zenga made no sense when looking at Zenga's record up to that point. RIP Kenny.

Heartbreaking news today Kenny Jackett has passed away.

12

12 Jun 2026 12:16:30
Agreed Rated, mate, I still remember how he saved us from League One obscurity at an absolute canter. More than that, he was an entirely decent guy as well. Very sad news indeed. 😭

15

12 Jun 2026 12:43:16
Really sad. A huge part in rebuilding after the drop to League One and unlucky to be fired when Fosun took over. A true gent and an important part of Wolves history.

12 Jun 2026 11:30:06
Only just seen the news, R.I.P. Kenny jacket and thank you for your work with Wolves. Thoughts of course with your family.

12 Jun 2026 15:39:15
Rip Kenny. Never forget being at Rotherham game 6-4. What a game, should have been allowed more time at club.

First time poster!

I don’t know if I speak for all, but after the last week, it’s the first time in a while that there has been a buzz about being a Wolves fan for a long time. The signings of Trippier (who could still do a job for most prem teams) and Jimenez have put some much needed optimism around the club. Lots of other fans from other clubs must of thought Wow.

However, after yesterday, I don’t feel like the club still understand how to run a club.

Not RE’s biggest fan, but many will agree not the way to go about business. We continue to use Gestifute and Mendes, and I just don’t think that this ends well.

I know managers come and go, and players do to, but if good people/players like Trippier/Andre etc think no I don’t want to be apart of this, what sort of players will we attract, not players that want to play for the cause of the shirt.

Welcome, ontheside. It's certainly all going up and down, the roller coaster that has become Wolverhampton Wanderers, and we're not even in pre-season.
Taking a step back now, tho, and ignoring a lot of the conflicting reports, also taking the RE aspect out of things, let's be positive.

We've a new manager coming in, hopefully soon, before the transfer window opens.

We'll have, again imagining, identified players he'll want, maybe unknowns, but they'll be his choice.

We've already secured Raul and Trip (as it stands), and that bodes well.

We may well be singing the new gaffer's name when we've learnt how to pronounce it, who really knows?
But let's get aboard the new ride, hopefully upwards again, and look forward to celebrating 150yrs.
