Hwang starts again, not a surprise any longer.
Would have thought Enzo or anyone would be better, maybe Johnstone.
Maybe he will come good today, we keep waiting, think he is on 4 assists so far, obviously for the opposition.

Unfortunately not surprising that Rob has come out and said we have to sell before we buy new players. If this was the first time this had happened then, with the prospect of relegation, it would probably be fair enough. However with their history, just more of the same rubbish whichever Shi is in charge.

If they have to sell before they buy new players why don’t they just get on with it now. Get best price we can for Hwang, JSL in particular now and re-invest.
Realise price may not be as high as it could be but that has not stopped them in the past, RAN for one comes to mind.

03 Jan 2026 11:26:25
True. Sell JSL, Hwang and Andre as soon as possible and bring in Kalvin Phillips, Axel Disasi on loan and a decent striker on a permanent deal.

03 Jan 2026 11:54:47
Just so we are clear I’m not sticking up for fosun and I’m not a happy clapper, I know how some here like to misinterpret what people say.

What Rob actually said is that we might have to generate some of the funds. The words might and some seemed to have been lost to a few people. Let be honest who really thought fosun would fork out all the money, that wouldn't sit well with there sustainable ideal. We don’t know what Rob was promised and as far as I can see no lies or betrayal so far. By the end of the window it might be different let just see how much money is put in from fosun before we start throwing accusations around.

03 Jan 2026 12:05:06
Whoever may come in have to be proud and have a desire for our club to improve and succeed next year, no use importing unknown hopefuls or money hunting has beens.
Who they could be I don't know, but one things for sure, neither fit the Fosun money making ideals.

03 Jan 2026 12:27:09
Banksy I think we all know how it will go. Sell off those we plan to early in the window, then fail to sign anyone capable early on, panic on the last day of the window and pick up more 'bargains.'

A bit like going to the market late on to buy up what's left cheaply, then congratulate yourself for saving money. Having said that Matt Jackson seems highly rated in football circles so we'll have wait and see, but I don't expect Fosun to step up.

03 Jan 2026 13:43:43
Great to see you back Long.
I am expecting them to not sell anyone for around 3 weeks, then sell a few for not enough money, and then run out of time for replacements.
Just shows what we have become accustomed to, unfortunately. One day, I hope, they will prove us all wrong 🤞.
A win today would make the world a better place 👍

03 Jan 2026 17:44:26
You can buy players and sell them in the summer window.

Is Arne Slot's Time At Liverpool Running Out?

{Ed's Note - Svkick has posted a new article entitled, Is Arne Slot's Time At Liverpool Running Out?

If the current squad is, as it appears, miles short of the standard of the three sides that came up last season i.e. the top end of the Championship then once you sell the best 3 or 4 players, (and remember there is a very unhealthy gap between the better players in the side and the others), it is likely that the squad as currently formed not only does not come straight back up but struggles to survive in that league. Therefore be careful about who you want to leave this January.Clearly the club can only sell the players other teams want but as the club allegedly has no financial pressures, (not that anything the club says should be taken other than with a very very large pinch of salt!), it should only undertake business for football reasons.
Sell those not good enough - plenty of choice there - retain the handful of those who are good enough and if possible add one or two more who fit that category.Maybe if this had been the strategy, (instead of selling diamonds for a fraction of their value and buying lumps of coal - being polite- for a king's ransom ), then the club wouldn't be in such a mess!
Thus although it seems highly unlikely, it would be in the club's best interest - which of course may well not be the same as Fosun's - for certain players to be retained if at all possible.
I completely understand that some players may well be highly motivated to leave a sinking ship for better conditions and of course Fosun may well have been encouraging others - the more valuable ones, i.e.

Andre and J Gomes - to get out so that they, Fosun, can pocket the cash but hopefully if the club is properly run, (ok no chance of that then!), it might be able to retain the tiny amount of Premier League quality talent it has this January.
If the 2nd half of the season - as a result of a competent January window and better coaching/ tactics etc - can be at least less embarrassing maybe even once relegation is confirmed then maybe the diamonds can be retained - whilst the remaining coal is sold off  - for the following season.
This would then mean that the club would indeed have a chance of returning to the Prem - the diamonds in the squad would outshine anything any Championship side would have!
This January is therefore really very very important for the club.
Another hopeless window - selling Andre, Emmanuel and Gomes for a fraction of their true value and allowing Krejci to return to Girona whilst buying league 1 at best standard players for inflated prices - could mean the club is fated to a very very long period in the wilderness of the lower leagues. Sadly however I have little hope that the basic level of competence that a change in the current insane policy requires isn't still beyond the club even after Jeff's change of role!

Anticipating how Fosun will be managing the Club going forward, I sadly see a long time back in the wilderness.
There is no sign on a new CEO and much needed appropriate experience.
Plenty of bluster about transfer market, but nothing concrete as yet.
Who exactly is in charge? Interim Shi I assume will not be making any decisions.

02 Jan 2026 20:57:55
From what I've heard, we were looking at an MLS striker, but that's now a no-go. We're gunna struggle to be fair. No-one wants to jump onto a sinking ship.

Rob Edwards has said that Wolves might have to generate their own funds this month if they want to spend big on players.

He's admitted it doesn't necessarily need to be experienced players, but players with the right character and players who want to be at the club.

Who would have thought that Fosun have again promised a Manager one thing but delivered another?

It will soon be time to get the ‘Save The Wolves’buckets out again .

First The Points

02 Jan 2026 17:14:43
As expected looking like more betrayal from Fosun, no transfer funds, no support, sell what decent players we have left.
Nothing changes and never will whist they are in control, absolute parasites.

02 Jan 2026 19:07:02
Agreed Oxley, so much for Fosun being keen to help as they, in reality, have no intention. RE is, like VP another 'compliant' Coach which is why they got the job.

Let's see what happens this January but I think the phrase is 'hope for the best but expect the worst'.

02 Jan 2026 20:55:35
If Shi2 has any self respect, conscious or honour there will be help to try and keep us up. Anything short will prove him to be a liar.
Time will tell.

02 Jan 2026 22:46:12
So once again fosun and shi mk2 have lied. what a shocker.

I’ve been saying it for a while fosun have zero interest/care for us a club they just want the iconic badge to slap all over their esports crap in China and South Korea
Make no mistake things can and will get massively worse next season when we don’t have the income from the premier league and sky tv

03 Jan 2026 00:45:54
Should be called poison not fosun.this is only going to get worse. For the faithful and God help us next season in the chumpionrubbish .
.

03 Jan 2026 10:06:25
Welcome back LongnyndWolf have missed your input.

01 Jan 2026 22:51:33
How do you feel about keeping the same formation for Saturday but drop Hwang move Mane into the forward line and reinstate Andre to midfield. Give all strikers instruction to shoot on site and get the wing backs swinging in more crosses because if Kilman is playing we should be guaranteed a penalty or two.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jan 2026 09:48:06
All of the above KHwolf but not sure about Andre.
As you say, we’d get more goals if there was service from the wings, but we’ve spent more time over the half season in and out of our own half due to sideways and back passing!

02 Jan 2026 13:04:47
Santiago Bueno is a doubt for tomorrow's game but if he is fit I'd go Sa, Doc, Mosquera and Bueno at the back, Tchatchoua and Hugo at full back/wing backs, Gomes in CDM, Wolfe and Arias as the wide players with Mane and Arokadore up top.

02 Jan 2026 13:49:35
What we are crying out for is a captain, regardless of position, someone who wears his heart on his sleeve and can drive his team mates forward, playing for the club and not just the wage. We haven't had that type of player since Coady left.

02 Jan 2026 16:39:31
Tomorrows game is massive.
I know they all are at mo.
But w.ham. Are there for the taking.
And you never know what confidence can do.
Fingers crossed we can put some sort of run together and, get past that 11 point tally

02 Jan 2026 17:31:52
Spot on Derry!….maybe Ward Prowse on loan is the best we could get though.

01 Jan 2026 18:22:37
On another note should we ask the ex chelsea boss if he is interested

Right, Xmas and New Year are over and my mini break from posting, plus the removal of Jeff Shi, has re-enthused me and encouraged me to start commenting on here again. I for one will take Nathan Shi's word's on face value, certainly until the end of this window, which may yet put me back into hibernation if it's another cock up.

Now given that nothing really improved when RE first took over from VP am I reading too much into the return of
Rui Pedro Silva as Assistant Head Coach. It's fair to say performances have improved since his return so was he the power behind Nuno's throne and is he starting to have a similar impact working with RE.

After all Nuno always praised his backroom staff insisting that much of the original turnaround at Wolves was down to them. We've seen a progressive improvement in the last three matches culminating in the draw at Man U, plus a better showing against Liverpool. So is that the RE effect, the RPS effect or a bit of both?

Probably, all too late, of course, unless the wheels come off three other teams and we suddenly turn a corner thanks to some inspired sales and signings this month but it would at least give the paying fans something to cheer.

Welcome back longmynd and a
happy new year to ya.
Gawd knows what's going to happen in the next few weeks, have we started looking more of a team due to wantaways putting more in or due to RE et al.

as suggested?
The team will have to be cobbled together again over January into Feb I'd imagine, but it'll be interesting to see how it happens.

02 Jan 2026 15:04:26
I don't think we should hold our breath for an exciting transfer period.
Not sure who is charge of the Club at the moment.
In previous seasons, Guangchang has come over and authorised signings, when things were bad. Doesn't look like he is coming this time.

At best it will be sell before we buy, which usually means new faces don't arrive until late, sadly then no time to be integrated.
I think we will have to wait until the summer to see if we are being allowed to re-build.

02 Jan 2026 17:32:39
Be a mad dash on the final day as usual.then bring no improvement again.heyho

02 Jan 2026 18:58:21
Welcome back Longmynd. Sadly I think that we cannot trust Fosun to do what is necessary. They have presided over the demise of our club for 3 years. They have sold our best players, and put us into a shameful position which has only one outcome. I see no change to their intention in this transfer window.

01 Jan 2026 17:08:19
At least them down the road are giving me something to smile about in the new year. Steptoes lost again and dropping Down towards that championship relegation zone, fingers crossed the football gods are trying to balance out our bad season by seeing them go down to league one!
