Check out Rodrigo Gomes Premier League Masterclass presented by Shaun Wright-Phillips. Initially they discuss Rodrigo's career but then SWP challenges him to recreate Joao Moutinho's greatest goals. He does.
The video can be viewed on YouTube or the Wolves website.

Seems such a nice lad. Let's hope we keep him next season.

Anyone notice the similarity in Villa's first goal against West Ham to the goal Ruben Neves scored against Villa six years ago when Moutinho rolled it over to him on the edge of the box.
Those were the days.

I know it doesn't mean much to us now, but just scrolling through the tables in terms of results we are in the best 'form' of any team up to 14th place. What did shock me was the awful form of Spurs at the moment, as they are real relegation candidates just 1 point above the drop zone.
This season's relegated teams may yet include one of the so-called big 6. I have to wonder if relegation is as much about the quality of the owners as the players these days.
23 Mar 2026 08:05:59
I think it is absolutely long.
Look at the teams at the bottom, and with the exception of Forest, all the clubs down there have owners that are more invested in financial bottom lines than the football on the pitch.
23 Mar 2026 09:32:29
Spurs fans seem to be complaining their owners are more interested in non-football-related matters. It sounds familiar, and makes you wonder what impact that genuinely has on results over a full season.

Well-run clubs like Brighton, Brentford, Forest, and Bournemouth all acquitted themselves well since promotion. Sunderland seem to be in the same mould. Yes, interested owners are the reason they are doing well. When we came up, we seemed to be aiming higher, rather like Newcastle. But Newcastle have hit a glass ceiling.
Do their Saudi owners understand football history in this country? No. I expect they thought they could chuck lots of money in and do a Man City. Fosun can't even chuck money in, and certainly doesn't understand our history. Nathan Shi needs to see the light and start planning for next season, or sell out at a tax loss.

On the subject of VAR did anyone see the Cunha dive against Palace, don't understand some of the decisions. Arsenal time wasting is also ridiculous and their diving which they continue and get away with every game.

Arsenal and Man U get away with this sort of cheating every week. Every time Arsenal have a corner, they obstruct the goalkeeper, and playing injured, when the opponents get on top of them, is another ploy. Premier football is not good to watch, with the so-called Big 6 getting away with bending the rules every week, because of weak referees who are afraid of these prima donna managers who cry like babies if a decision is against them.
Arteta is the world's worst.

Does the referee add extra time on after a team has scored a goal? Some highlights see some players go overboard in celebrating a goal. It seems to take forever for the scoring team to return for the kick off.

Certainly hope so, LindsayB. Sometimes it's hard to watch or believe that these are grown men.
25 Mar 2026 22:25:07
I think they do if excessive time is taken in celebrating.

So VAR is once more being controversial, wondering if the 19 supporting clubs think about their decision to keep it now?

So Mane has been called up for the Portuguese U21 squad and a reshuffle of the Academy to create a clearer pathway into first team football is underway.
Christian Preuber, formerly Head Coach of Borussia Dortmund II, is appointed as the new Academy Head of Football with Ian Sharps also promoted to Head of the younger age groups. It appears that the wheels are in motion for Nathan Shi's declared re-organisation plans, at least at Academy level, and not before time as they've not exactly been prolific of late.
Of course, we're all itching for news on what's likely to happen on the business development side of the club plus the first team rebuild, etc, but I suppose they've got all summer for that. Let's hope they get it all done and dusted well before the last day of the window this time.

Exactly four months from today is the tenth anniversary date when the Fosun takeover was announced, Tuesday 21st July. The announcement was so long in coming that Julen Lopetegui pulled out of the running for the Wolves job to manage the Spanish national team instead. We got 'man in a suitcase' Walter Zenga in his place.
After that false start, we bought some of the finest players ever to grace Molineux, and one of the most popular coaches, Nuno. Of course, by now we should have been playing football regularly in Europe according to the ten-year plan.
It's up to Nathan Shi to resurrect those decade-old ambitions.

Borussia Dortmund is a top quality academy and as good as any to model ourselves on.
