I've posted a couple of times about how poor some of our players are ( Toti for one) and how bemused I've been at some of the team selections.
James must start with Fer as our attacking midfielder pair Keep Andre as the defensive midfielder.
Drop Toti and Tchachua. Don't star Mane
I would also drop Sa his distribution is shocking.
Neave up top. And CP has no clue about the championship which is a very difficult league.
Sorry for this I'm just venting.
21 Oct 2026 20:35:49
Don't apologise. I think many of us are coming to the same conclusion that CP is completely out of his depth. Another one!
21 Oct 2026 21:39:00
I think one or two of the player's getting fed up with mane now not being a team player. He's got selfish around the box & frustrating player's in better positions. overrated for me.
21 Oct 2026 15:32:36
Unfortunately from recent history they will not act on CP for some time.
Surely some of the management will realise if he has lost the players already, if so, very little point in waiting in hope of things improving.
Personally after playing them lot I thought things were looking up for us all including CP, I hoped we would kick on with the same level of performance.
Not being arrogant to other teams, however, we should be beating the likes of Bolton and Portsmouth at home even with the players we have.
I think they will stick with him for at least the next couple of games.
Always the same then, we will probably scrape a win which means they persevere with him for longer, absolute shambles again, every year the same.
21 Oct 2026 17:33:16
I don't think that CP will be going anywhere in the near to middle future. The season is just starting so knee jerk decisions won't help things at this stage. What should be happening, and i hope it is, is that a shortlist of alternatives is being drawn up following due diligence being followed.
We may have to wait for a suitable replacement and hope that the club doesn't sink so low that it makes it an unattractive proposition to any possible candidates.
I hope that the club uses Ai this time round as there last few choices have proven unsuitable.
21 Oct 2026 17:36:57
Hi haven't posted for ages but read your messages every day well what can I say it's all doom and gloom for our club I think cp has lost the dressing room and well fosun they need to put up or put the club up for sale because I can't see them doing anything for us anymore I think cp will have a couple of more games if nothing improves he need to go and get Sean Dyche in temporary or look for a manager who can sort this out but a lot of the blame is Fosun.
21 Oct 2026 19:05:17
Don't shoot the messenger, but I'm going to post anyway.
Last night was abysmal, especially the first half but I do have a theory on that. A few weeks ago, we turned those down the road over, and everybody was singing from the rooftops.
Unfortunately we then went into an international break, just as we were getting to grips with the championship.
After the break we had what I consider to be one of if not the hardest game of the season, Boro on their own patch.
I think we were unfortunate not to come out of that game with at least a point.
I can't pass comment on the Bolton game as I was away, but they turned us over, and i maybe wrong, but that's when are supporters started to turn against the team and manager. Burnley away, we ground out a victory, all be it a but fortunate, but without the pressure of the golden palace supporters.
I maybe wrong, but right from the start of the game last night, the atmosphere was not great.
I know people will say that the team should perform to get the fans going, but it works both ways, and last night their was not the usual noise from the kick off. We may not have the best players in the world, but we do have some useful ones, and you can see what pressure was doing to them.
CP may not be the best man for the job, personally I think he needs to be given the chance to get us back to where we were for the albion game. If they decide to get rid, why would any decent manager worth his salt, want to take over when they see how previous managers have been treated.
It's a long season and I just hope we can return to the level of performance which saw us play do well against the tescos.
21 Oct 2026 14:45:33
I liked Brian clough no nonsense bloke
I don't think there's a manager out there at the moment good enough or willing to take on wolves.
You have to be insane as a player or manager at moment to come to wolves with the way it's being run.
Perhaps the glory days will come again
We can only hope.
21 Oct 2026 14:01:33
We need a Mick McCarthy type manager in no nonsense gets the players to put a shift in.
21 Oct 2026 14:21:36
Correct. Wolves need a manager who is battle-hardened and experienced. Someone who hasn't gone from one club to another. Someone who understands Championship football.
Alex Neil? He got Norwich into the PL. Near 40% win ratio at PNE. Near 50% win ratio at Millwall.
21 Oct 2026 14:46:34
Sean Dyche!!!
21 Oct 2026 14:50:22
One thing Wolves have to stop doing is hiring these suitcase managers. They're living in temporary digs, they don't bring their families with them, and they're buggering off home at every opportunity. They're not invested in Wolves. Half of them are simply waiting for a payoff. They might as well arrive at Wolves with carry-on baggage and a book: 101 things to see while on holiday in England.
Rob Edwards was at least along the right lines, but he was a dreadful appointment.
Gary O'Neil was a wet blanket who spent most of his time fu__ing off to London at every opportunity.
21 Oct 2026 16:25:19
Doesn't matter who we have as manager as there must be something in the Wolverhampton air that requires the whole team to play crab football and just recycle, recycle without doing anything progressive or positive.
Took the biscuit last night when Krejci hit a wonderful diagonal crossfield pass to the right wing only to receive the ball back, in virtually the same position, only 3 passes later! Safety first football at its very worst. Dire!!!!
21 Oct 2026 18:50:04
Good post NWaTS!
23 Oct 2026 16:43:45
Fosun don't employ Managers who want to manage, Nuno tried but they started selling his players, Rob Edwards started by bringing in our best two players and was sacked, CP is no better or worse than his fellow Countrymen who've passed through.
21 Oct 2026 13:28:32
When I posted a month ago that I thought the principal issue was not defence, (even though Wolves were conceding loads), but attack, (even though Wolves were scoring loads), it was met with a fair degree of scepticism and reprobation from the usual suspects - unsurprisingly not seen so regularly now that results have flattened out!
I postulated that Wolves were conceding goals that wouldn't normally be conceded - flukes, horrific errors or unstoppable shots that are not normally made - and that would even out.
It has!
Sadly though, I stated that Wolves were also scoring goals purely from individual brilliance - mainly Lopez and Gomes - rather than any discernible pattern.
A couple of injuries and teams roughing up Lopez and suddenly the goals have dried up!
I know not everyone agrees(d) but for me the squad, the selections made by the manager and the tactics he is applying have made this inevitable.
Whilst there is nothing he can do about who is available - a weak and unbalanced squad with a fair sprinkle of injuries - but his bizarre selections and weird tactics do not help. Simply playing his best players in a formation that suits them rather than shoehorning his favourite players into his predetermined unsuitable formations would significantly improve the clubs chances of success!
If he doesn't learn and learn fast he won't be here much longer!

abysmal
atrocious
horrific
are just a few words that sum up wolves in the last 2 weeks.
CP is done.
id take steve cooper in a heart beat right now.
21 Oct 2026 12:01:42
Can we give the players a sat nav so they can find the goals. we'll another abysmal match. cp not a clue what he's doing. can't pick a 1st team yet out of the players available. I haven't got a clue why he brought on all the subs. players have got no system of play can someone tell me what's going on.
21 Oct 2026 13:27:26
Money : Fosun's what's going on, every Manager they've employed since Nuno has just been put in place to fill the position without rocking the boat, Nuno wanted to improve on what he'd built, Fosun wanted to sell, sell and sell again, they effectively pulled the plug, nothing they do will improve the club in any way, they have nothing to offer.
21 Oct 2026 11:52:12
Number 3 LB
This is unusually a position where - other than selling RAN, (no choice but to sell for both financial and his career reasons) for an abysmally low fee - Wolves have not made major errors recently.
The first choice, Bueno, is another one some on SM love to hate.
He is weaker defensively than ideal - often not closing his man down and thus allowing crosses to come in - but is far far better going forwards than his critics make out.
He was bought for effectively nothing, counts as home grown, is on, (for this squad at least), modest wages and at this level is adequate.
I hoped, albeit wrongly, that he would step up last year and might - if he improves on his obvious weaknesses - be persuaded that it is still possible although unlikely that he could step up next season if Wolves were to be promoted this year.
If, as seems likely now, they aren't he will be fine/adequate next year in the championship - assuming he isn't sold.
The back up Konan came in as a free agent and you have to believe he is on modest money?
He looks adequate and will do ok next season in the Championship.
Neither is going to set the league alight but Wolves have many more pressing issues both now and next summer than LB.
21 Oct 2026 12:40:58
I think we've enough evidence now from this season and last to appreciate that none of our squad are good enough to play in the Premier league for anyone other than a club that's fighting relegation. That surely isn't what any of us want should miracles happen and we get promoted. In that circumstance both full back areas will need addressing as a priority but, at Championship level, there are indeed more pressing issues.
I'm not sure the Ait-Nouri fee (£35m reported) was ridiculously low given Lewis Hall was apparently sold for around £5m less only a year before and he's a better all round player.
Kerkez went for around £10m more but at least he plays regularly for Liverpool (41 league games) whereas Ait-Nouri has only been a bit part player for Man City (17 league games with a fair few as sub) and is currently well out of favour. Hindsight suggests that maybe we didn't do too badly despite our thoughts at the time.

Where do you start with Wolverhampton Wanderers?
Terrible clueless owners who - Nuno excluded - keep hiring one atrocious head coach after another. Peixoto was a truly dreadful appointment. His stats don't lie. Pre Wolves, Peixoto has gone from one job to another and achieved absolutely nothing - other than picking up a poor win ratio and pretty much every club he's been at.
He's managed to get one of the most talented squads in the Championship sitting three points above John Mousinho's Portsmouth. Wolves also sit three points above Steve Wilder's Sheffield United. Two utterly dire Championship teams. Beating Burnley has papered over the cracks because Wolves were crap in that game. Burnley should have been two or three nil up after 30 minutes.
These cheap poorly thought out appointments have to stop, and Wolves have to stop hiring Portuguese head coaches. They have to tell Mendes to stick his suggestions where the sun doesn't shine. Prime Mendes ended years ago.
Quality players at Wolves are regressing and providing nothing in the way of goals or assists. Without Fer Lopez Wolves would be in a relegation battle. The football being served up is dross. If Wolves played Blues or Albion tomorrow they would get a hiding. Luckily Wolves caught them early on.
Fosun have to take the blame for the mess Wolves find themselves in. Sadly it looks they're here to stay. If they're serious about Wolves being promoted they have to sort out the coaching set up and stop hiring garbage.
Peixoto leaving is already an inevitability. It looks like some of the players don't want to play for him. There is no point in dragging it out. Wolves are playing some of the worst football since Glen Hoddle and Stale Solbakken. They're playing some of the most clueless football since Walter Zenga and Dean Saunders.
Being a Wolves fan is embarrassing. Seeing so many empty seats at the Molineux is heartbreaking.
21 Oct 2026 11:25:34
Totally agree.
Truth is we just aren't good enough to many has beens and never will be's. When we are bringing on centre half's to play as a striker we are in trouble. No creativity in midfield and no pace in the team (sorry one with pace but frightened to death to use it).
Only thing we can hope for is to keep in touch with the top eight and hope there's some money to spend in January. If they are going to get rid of the manager do it before Xmas so the new guy can have some input.
21 Oct 2026 12:08:39
The Wolves hierarchy have to get shot of Peixoto. When the rumour came through about Peixoto replacing Edwards, I was the one on here who laughed it off as a ridiculous rumour. The guy was nowhere near good enough to replace even someone as dreadful as Edwards, and Peixoto is now showing that's he a poor appointment and nowhere near good enough to get Wolves promoted.
Take away Lopez, who is head and shoulders above every other player in the Championship, and Wolves would be in the bottom three, four or five.
Mouthing off at Mousinho shows that he's arrogant. Blaming Portsmouth for time wasting! Ridiculous.
Fosun keep getting things wrong.
There is now no way that Wolves can finish in the top two. If things stay as they are for too long they won't even manage to qualify for the play offs.
21 Oct 2026 12:51:33
Fosun got lucky to a certain degree with Nuno and Lopetegui but it looks like we've exhausted the Iberian peninsula supply of managers. They haven't got the money now to attract top players or the ability to appoint a manager who can find and get improved results and performance from players whose career has stalled. Let's get 50 points to survive as a first priority.
23 Oct 2026 21:46:57
What confidence do you have that makes you think 50 points is doable with the current state of affairs what if Fosun sall Lopez and Andre and bring some More low rank staff ? Division 1 looks like a possibility the way things stand at the moment.
21 Oct 2026 10:33:35
Well, after standing watching that embarrassment last night,
I've come to the conclusion that Peixoto is the Santa Claus of Molineux.he'll get the sack for Christmas.
