So clear out at PSG to try fit Messi in to plans could be up to 10 players from some reports so hopefully we have some one from our club sniffing out some bargains or a good agent who has clients that need moving on from there.

Giants amongst giants

{Ed002's Note - There is nobody leaving who wasn’t already for sale. Wolves have shown no interest in any of them.}

1.) 09 Aug 2021 20:08:15
Ty ed002 I didn't realise they were already on the transfer list and was wishing more than anything else just hopeful to get a few threw the door and thought all psg want is wages cut so although we may not be interested in the ones that were put on the list psg will be willing to listen to offers for other players that are not on the transfer list but time will tell.

{Ed002's Note - No, they have a lengthy list of players and are working with clubs and agents to move them on. Nothing has changed.}

So looks like the end of mir really sad he didn't get to show us what he could do IMO he should of been recalled from loan and played instead of the young (silva) not his fault but mir knew what he was doing and how to score goals and silva just isn't he really needs to go out on loan to championship and he will learn quickly but that's just IMO anyone have any idea what price we could get from athletico madrid?

Giants amongst giants

{Ed002's Note - Around €14M. It won't be clear until the TMS is updated.}

1.) 08 Aug 2021 19:19:01
I don't think we could have recalled him.
Jose scored a good few goals in La Liga but only one in the EPL. Maybe Mir would do the same. Horses for courses.

2.) 08 Aug 2021 20:16:03
Really?
Comparing Mir to Silva is like comparing a 12 year old wonder kid to silva.
6 years difference. Silva did well last year when you consider injuries, loss of raul and change of system. He was unlucky with some misses.
Mir never really wanted to play for us. He came to us whilst playing in the championship and believed he was a cut above already. He was a good youth player and under estimated English football. He played for us against swansea for half an hour and did nothing. couldn't hold the ball up. Forest fans don't rate him.
However he has scored goals last season. Playing counter attack football. I think 15m is perfect business. that's a 13.5m profit and he will sit on the bench somewhere in spain. Both parties are happy.
Fabio silva stats 4 goals 3 assists.
Thats 7 goals he contributed to. Nearly a quarter of all the goals wolves scored last season.
Wolves missed Raul. Raul would have scored 14+ goals last season like he did the previous campaigns.
Add 14 goals we would have finished 7th or 8th.

3.) 08 Aug 2021 23:52:33
Mir failed to impress whilst here and was subsequently loaned out to Forest where he again was poor, then to Las Palmas where again he was poor. It is only in the last season that he has proved himself but he is not part of Lages plans and a £13m profit is good business.

4.) 09 Aug 2021 11:40:24
Raf mir forrest (11 goals) huesca (22 goals) not to shabby improved every year if you check and 22 goals scored for a team that went down I think you will find he scored more goals than Sheffield utds whole team did and both went down and I bet there ain't to many 24 years old in the bottom half of leagues that scored 22 goals 13 million profit I'm not moaning at its good business Its just a shame we didn't give him a chance to show us how much he come on but happy we made a good profit time to spend that money and buy 1 or our usual way loan to buy spread it out over 5 years been good to us so far.

5.) 09 Aug 2021 15:41:54
I think you'll find that Rafa Mir played 11 games for Forest and scored ZERO goals. You've mis read Wikipedia. Nice try though.

6.) 09 Aug 2021 17:29:06
Either way he scored 22 goals last season for a side that went down did better than our team of strikers managed and yes misread it but starting games at forrest (6) hardly time to get your game on is it all I'm saying he performed absolutely amazing last season and shame he didn't get the opportunity to play for us how many seasons we going to wait for silva to get them goals our change in style would of been right up mir Street.

7.) 09 Aug 2021 18:51:03
Giants, again you've got your facts wrong. Rafa Mir has indeed scored 22 goals whilst on loan at Huesca but 16 of them were scored last season (13 in the league, 3 cup) . The other 6 were scored the season before when Huesca were in La Liga2. So 13 goals in 38 games is not quite as impressive as 22 goals.

Personally, I think he should be given a chance at Molineux but the player himself wants to go so best of luck to him.

8.) 09 Aug 2021 20:17:52
Even when I check before posting I get it wrong sod it from now on sod the checking of goals scored for teams I'll stick to just IMO lol and your correct JAS M 22 goals definitely sounds better than the 13 oh well I stick to my guns and say it was worth exploring bringing him back from his loan and giving him a go but hey ho 13 million profit for a player that had 2 appearances for us is not a bad deal and means we can reinvest it and get a player.

That garath Southgate is a absolute joke what not a single sub is the bloke clueless or what take coady and don't use him well enough is enough that is ridiculous Poland used 5 subs and last 10 minutes we were far to deep stones and maguire together are next to useless coady on that pitch he would of shouted get out and add some fresh legs the German ref was not good either so blatantly biased.

1.) 09 Sep 2021 11:47:42
On the plus side at least Coady will be fresh for Saturday mate.
But I did wonder why no subs were made cost us 2 points imo.

That Jeff shi I absolutely love him that article says everything we had money just the targets we wanted didn't want to come and Bruno had say who we brought in and we could of added 3 more players but Bruno didn't want any of them so we will have other targets for January and a list of players Bruno would like to bring the future is looking bright and proves FOSUN are willing to invest in the team and the manager has the final decision the fact that Jeff Bruno and the rest were in office till late deadline day until Bruno said we are done says everything.

1.) 08 Sep 2021 13:26:39
Agree 100% Giants amongst giants.??.

2.) 08 Sep 2021 13:45:48
I think it also puts to bed the conspiracy that Nuno had no say in transfers too when he was here.

3.) 08 Sep 2021 17:03:08
I'm not about to make any judgement but just a statement of what I understand. We have a very good relationship with Mendes and his Gestifute agency, in fact Fosun own 20 percent of it. We have been looking for a centre back and an attacking midfield player for around 12 months. Money is not the problem we are told. Ok so I'm not sure I understand why it is proving to be so hard to find the right players. Anyone got any idea?

4.) 08 Sep 2021 17:45:39
I don't know the answers Ken but I believe fosun shi Lage are a lot more disappointed and frustrated as us fans.

5.) 08 Sep 2021 19:27:43
Ken68, it's because Lage only wants to sign players that are better than we already have. The big problem we face is that these same players are unwilling to leave their current club because they are playing in the European club competitions.

6.) 08 Sep 2021 19:50:12
Also wolverhampton it's self isn't attractive to these top targets but that's something we have to deal with get players like Ruben who not only said yes I'll sign for wolves and it can only get easier with these players saying us fans make them feel so welcome and they love it here atleast we haven't got player's meeting up drinking and spending there cash in night clubs and vip bars there all about the football and family life not the party life so I'll take that any day we just need to cast our net further field than Portugal like Spain have some quality footballers and other countries we for some reason choose Portugal route.

7.) 09 Sep 2021 09:37:28
It's always the difficulty with the transfer market - the more successful a club is, the fewer players there are out there to improve the team so the more they cost. When you can't offer the highest level of football (Europe) it's a harder sell. The only real way around it is signing players with potential and developing them at the club.

The market has evolved in the last 10 years or so as well. Previously lots of PL clubs were so debt ridden, any player who had a good season got poached by the big 4 to balance the books at the selling clubs. Now this doesn't happen as much, or the fees are incredibly high, clubs have to look at other ways to be competitive and it makes the PL much more wide open.

We do seem to be looking further afield for players now based on the nationalities and the leagues our latest recruits have come from.

8.) 09 Sep 2021 17:30:28
It was an interesting article. I can say I have the money to afford a Ferrari but until there's one sat on my drive it doesn't mean a lot. I like Jeff but I do sometimes question his take on things. If we presented Lage with a list of 30 players and he only liked 10 of them then surely that means we need to work on a better list?!

9.) 09 Sep 2021 20:51:12
BB from what I read he didn't actually say much of any substance tbh. The we couldn't find anyone better that Bruno wanted on our list. Doesn't tell you anything. Botman we gave up on price, that's not unreasonable. Caleta-Car wife just had a baby, I wouldn't have moved either, start of the window who knows. Kamala, he wasn't interested. Personally I think we left it late to get a bargain deal and it didn't happen. Must do better in my opinion.

10.) 09 Sep 2021 23:46:30
I completely agree Ken to be honest. I think they are being clever with the wording here because yes I can believe that there was no one availible that would have improved the first team (fully fit we are pretty strong) but what about the squad cause that what needs work! And I also agree with your point about the lateness of the business, I didn't think it was a problem at the time cause I (foolishly) assumed it was all in hand. But like you say why do we seem to be the only club that doesn't realise that prices go up as the clock counts down?! Especially odd as we put the asking up for Adama as the deadline got closer?!

I think your closing line is spot on 'must do better' but I think what worries me is for that to happen Jeff needs to actually realise when we NEED to get something over the line. All I will say is that I seriously hope one of you guys on here (Jas:) is serving me a nice helping of humble pie come Jan! Lage already seems capable of really doing something special for us, we've already played some seriously sexy football this season.

BUT he needs backing and this season to shape what needs to become HIS team. For example can we even actually play his preferred 442 with a group of cbs that aren't natural cbs and wbs that are uncomfortable at fb, I suspect not?! I think he needs that level of flexibility in formational approach (depending on the oppo) if we are ever going to see his tactical best! Fingers crossed he kicks things off on Saturday.

11.) 10 Sep 2021 14:26:47
Hopefully tomorrow will bring as good a performance as we have had in our first 3 games. I don't think any of us expected anything from them but easily could have won them all. Now it gets serious the honeymoon is over as it were. Hoping for a win but its not going to be easy. Shooting boots on I hope!

01 Sep 2021 14:30:30
OK so a little frustrating but let's put things in to perspective we kept nevers and traore and we brought in more than we sold the board said from outset our hands are tied ffp so unless we received 50 million plus for our 2 stars we were not going to be that active unless funds are available I'm disappointed but hey at start of season 6 players were going to spurs and how many eventually went? So all tho dissatisfied we still have a squad capable of finishing in top half and hey nothing spent this window much that we ain't wiped with sales and loans let's face it who would of been happy with kieffer at 15million.

Good post and I am in agreement. Spoken like a true fan. Makes a change from reading all the troll posts I've been reading on this site and the mix over the past day or so.

20 Aug 2021 22:49:56
I'm very confident that some fears off the squad being light and after reading a few articles on Bruno and what I can gather we are working hard on bringing 3/ 4 players to wolves and the recruitment team and Bruno and Jeff speak on a daily basis no clue on positions we are going for but only time will tell I'm hoping for a cb and cm and striker.

1.) 21 Aug 2021 03:19:32
I’m impressed by Bruno to date: appears to be very pragmatic and honest. Departing players have thanked us for what we have done to get them their moves, which is a positive. Bruno obviously wants commitment to the cause above all else. one can’t underestimate the role Coady plays in creating that togetherness, sometimes there are elements about a player that are equally important as their on-field performance. Love Coady to bits and appreciate his contribution to our club. I really hope Bruno will appreciate his strengths and work on his weaknesses. Nobody can ask for more from a coach.
No logic to my next point BUT I just have this gut feeling that Traore is really going to step up to the plate on Sunday and produce a match winning performance akin to the Man City game!

2.) 21 Aug 2021 14:08:37
Hope you're right Wolfthistle. Tail end of last season and last Saturday, Traore has been knocking on that door. Tomorrow could be the big breakthrough with goals.

3.) 21 Aug 2021 14:29:21
According to a number of pundits they fear for Wolves this season and so do I, without doubt the squad is not strong enough or deep enough. Neto and Jonny out until next year and can not be expected to come back and get us out of a relegation battle. We need 4 or 5 experienced players now so we can at least fill our bench and have good options to bring on to be able to change games. Why are we not trying to get players like Lingard Niles or loan players from the big clubs or do Fosun believe that Lage is a miracle worker an keep us in the prem with a bunch of youngsters.

4.) 21 Aug 2021 16:14:55
Pundits!? Like Lawro’s euro 2020 predictions. So funny that he’s the one who’s supposed to be good at predicting scores and he was the worst of all the pundits. We definitely need reinforcements but no need to panic about relegation IMO. Should be a good game tomorrow, I expect Spurs to respond after there European exploits but hopefully it’s affected them negatively.

5.) 21 Aug 2021 17:05:23
There's nothing to say certain players haven't been approached but aren't keen on a move to Wolves. All the transfer activity is always done on the quite and we might not know who we're getting until they sign. Trincao being an example of that this season.

There will be some money available from not taking up options on Jose and Vitinha, plus there are loan to buy options for this season that can still be explored. Some clubs may prefer a permanent sale of some players but settle for loan to buy when the window is closer to shutting to get players off wage bills depending on the structure of the deals.

A few reinforcements would be nice, but there are a few teams already who seem weaker to me. Palace and Southampton look like they could be in for long seasons. Hopefully a change in training and the team tactics will help get some more goals.

I think with the squad as it is we can finish 12th. A few realistic additions and we could get up to 8th.

6.) 21 Aug 2021 18:02:55
I'd put Palace, Burnley, Southampton, Norwich and Newcastle below us come crunch time. I might even include Arsenal, Watford and Brentford.

7.) 21 Aug 2021 18:14:01
Bruno knows the problems, he says he's told the board the requirements. I thought before we'd need 40m, and mir with otawasie have brought about 15m. I'm still worried we'll have to sacrifice traore or neves to raise the rest. Who we bring in of course who knows?, we've been linked with almost everyone. I think Semedo from olympiakos maybe one (subject to clearance) as he and Sa are already known to each other. If neves goes then palino (excuse spelling) would be favoured by me. That leaves us needing a front man. An interesting week ahead. Tomorrow, with emotions high and a packed mol I can see traore doing something special with raul also celebrating. I'm going against my earlier thinking and going for a 3-2 wolves win. I hope so. It'd give all of us the hope and unity the pack needs. COYW.

Remember people some on here are here to wind us wolves fans up don't let them win that's exactly what they want if you stop writing what you feel then they have won listern are we all in primary school or what here my 7 year old class mates never have this many arguments we have some ignorant fans that IMO are never wolves supporters just want to point out the bad never the good well unfortunately that's life people some are doom and gloom supporters you never going to fix that but there is a good group of 20 people who I definitely always like reading there stuff my mates say I'm to biased when wolves play and they have to explain to me that not every foul deserves a yellow or a penalty so I do like the different opinions I may not agree with them but I would never tell them to shut up or be quite that's just rude you don't like what they write move to the next post don't let them grind you down if you do then they have won COYW the pack sticks together.

Jas is always the voice of reason when posts start to get silly on here, and gives objective opinions. Think you will be missed mate.

3.) 16 Aug 2021 21:32:34
Giant your quite right I was being rude saying be quiet to SQ. It was just after first match, we lost but I thought we were better than I expected. The first thing I see is the same we going to be relegated stuff that was posted last season and pre season. I want my beloved wolves to succeed, but also accept this can be a rocky road. Doom laden posts I find rude to the true wolves forever and whatever fans on here. We've lost posters due to it. Be quiet can be read as 'not again' a way of asking for, as I put it, constructive criticism. So I will apologise for the 'be quiet' remark.
And I offer that apology direct to SQ. I'm sorry. But please try to look on the brighter side.

I've heard it could be 5 games he misses but we are not alone there are many who didn't let there players go to red list areas surely common sense should prevail we should respond with he has a knock and needs time to get over it so he is currently injured every other Tom dick and Harry has In past and I'm pretty sure the players would go along with I'm carrying a knock unless of course they wanted to go we will never find that out tho.

Not so sure about him personally I don't think he is good enough back up to Raul starting to get a little jittery now some stories of spurs wanting Adam on loan with option to buy if this is the case I don't think we are that stupid enough to do that deal I personally see him going but will cost them 50 million plus (spurs think they dealing with Morgan) we ain't stupid you have 150 million from selling kane to city that's a done deal if spurs get replacements they know if they sold kane before replacing then teams will add 10 million to the price of player because they know spurs will need.

Is this the same player who has a year left on contract that's why we didn't meet there valuation of the player that's what I read and we are free to speak to him in January or have I mixed up players? Jas m your the go to man on these questions I'm not going to wiki for that lol and JAS M it's awesome to see you posting again block the negative things mate if fans can't see the positives from our 3 games is beyond me but they all intilted to a opinion does not matter if I think its nonsense that's up to them what they want to do the rest of season me on other hand I believe we will be top half come end of season.

The best game of football I've seen in a while we played some amazing football just couldn't score but we gave them a game and half NUNO looked relieved if only traore had scored we would of gone on to win but lots of positive points to take from 2 sides that will be in top 4_6 get away with a 1_0 win I'll take that both games could of been draws just narrow margins but when we finally score I'm sure they will keep on coming no season been won from first 2 games we keep playing like that it will come.

It's called a fan site every one can write what there opinion is it may be gloomy 90% of the time but hey ho if you don't like what they say that's tough luck the pack sticks together no reason for people not to air their concerns you just correct them and remind them of the past and were we were before fosun took us over you can't argue that fosun have no ambition unfortunately ffp are there for a reason we can all be disappointed at people coming in but if we get to keep our top talents so be it I would much rather have neves and traore than what 70 million that we would by no doubt only be able to afford 1 decent player why not be happy we get to keep 2 stars rather than swapping 2 for 1 not fosun fault some supporters rather than believe transfer gossip than the owners who said to buy players we have to sell our best talent but we will not sell unless our valuation is not met clubs don't want to pay more than 30 million for traore or nerves we want 50 for each.
