Damn that kante is a absolute beast he was every were he is somthing we could do with I'm not saying we will buy him I hope we can unearth a gem like him his work effic is second to none and I hope we get players of his type because the system BRUNO plays we will definitely need a couple of kante.

I think every fan/ club would have the same thought. What a player, he was everywhere last night.

07 Jun 2021 18:55:30
OK so more rumours linking players to the exit door all seem to be Portugal players so if its all true and they end up going I would assume they can't or won't work with new manager which I find strange I would understand if it wasn't a Portuguese manger coming in. I've been reading up on Bruno and I'm liking the idea of him and bringing us more attacking football really would like to see coady playing the defensive midfielder and neves further up field thoughts anyone.

Giants amongst giants

1.) 07 Jun 2021 19:56:02
Have no problem with Neves, Moutinho, Patricio and Vinagre being allowed/ encouraged to leave as long as new recruits have been identified by in-coming coach. If his style is more attacking then our midfield needs an upgrade.
Interested in whether or not Tote Gomez and Dion Sanderson will be looked at pre-season. Gomes is listed as over 24 on our retained list but he is only 22 years old and was an ever present in defence for Grasshoppers last season. Left footed centre back who looks quick, which is something we need in defence.

2.) 07 Jun 2021 20:45:39
Seen Gomes score a couple for Grasshoppers big lad bit raw but very cheaply bought and could come good. But its a massive step up!

3.) 07 Jun 2021 21:21:51
Omg. Arsenal linked with Conor coady?

4.) 08 Jun 2021 00:28:54
Am I correct in thinking the most recent theory was to enlarge the squad? So are we going to sell 5 or 6 players and buy another 5 or 6 plus more to make the squad bigger? I don't think so.

5.) 08 Jun 2021 06:20:34
Sol Campbell advising arsenal to get Coady greyleg a complete load of tosh imo.

It's all just paper talk or click bait we all have got to be patient roughly 2 months to kickoff till the new season, plenty of time to get the new manager in along with new additions and get the team ready for hopefully a very good season.
Would love another good cup run and top 6 or 7 position.
No one can say it is not possible just as much as no one can say it's not possible to have a season of struggle.

Really looking forward to a new manager and his style of play I want to be pleasantly surprised with attacking football good solid defending 2 out there 20 plus goal a season with an additional 3or4 10 plus goals a season players coupled with an above average clean sheets for our goalie.
Not wanting much but anything is possible.
COYW.

6.) 08 Jun 2021 14:22:26
Hope so Phil. 👍.

So still no news on who the next manager is you would of thought if Bruno was fosun first choice then why isn't it sorted yet all the papers and that say its close but I think something has happened as why go to a hearing about work permit and you would assume fosun already had a contract for both parties to sign and agreed so I sit here thinking if it was such a done deal how is it taking so long.

Giants amongst giants

1.) 03 Jun 2021 16:08:37
Maybe this evening giants? I suppose photo shoots interviews statements etc have to be arranged/ co-ordinated, but if nothing by tomorrow pm and I think we may be in for a surprise! .

2.) 03 Jun 2021 16:09:48
It's called Brexit and immigration controls. It will happen because an "interpretation " will be found. And for those who don't remember, or, want to remember, Nuno had no better track record than Lage when he arrived, so let's just wait and see. I have faith that Fosun will act decisively if there are bumpy times ahead. In the meantime I have faith alhough nothing is ever guaranteed.
(Sorry I've got catarcts and having trouble seeing small print)

3.) 03 Jun 2021 16:38:37
If bruno is our next manager,
Know what I mean 'arry.
Lol.

4.) 03 Jun 2021 18:55:29
I would still prefer Fonseca.

5.) 04 Jun 2021 10:05:34
Brexit lol it surpose to be a done deal all over bar a work permit which they all got coaching staff and Bruno 36hrs ago so assuming all papers have it correctly and he is next manger ask yourself 1 question no paper has ever got a major scoop out of wolves since Morgan left there has to be something else to hold this up cannot see it being money or wages I personally think fosun have pulled a master stroke and we are going to be surprised.

6.) 04 Jun 2021 12:28:20
You guys realize we are in the middle of C.V. and Bruno can't just fly around from country to country at will without being quarantined.

7.) 04 Jun 2021 13:51:00
Well I've had at least 12 friends fly in and out of Portugal in the last 2 weeks mate so were your argument is there I don't know.

8.) 04 Jun 2021 15:18:29
Here's where I'm getting it from, mate.

Portugal and the travel industry condemn UK for requiring visitors to quarantine on return

9.) 05 Jun 2021 07:18:21
Well all the media were pretty clear he'd flown into London last week and portugul is still green (no incoming quarantine until 4am next tuesday) .

Some really negative comments about lampard IMO I think he would be a excellent coach for us he uses youth and are we forgetting Chelsea wheen he took over were banned in transfer window similar to our position in the transfer market and also Chelsea fineshed 4th in league finals of FA Cup and champions league yes maybe tuchel the manger but it's still same team lampard built up so I'm all for lampard (BRUNO taste of football in Premier was with Swansea that year they fineshed bottom) anyone else think lampard would be a good choice.

Giants amongst giants

1.) 28 May 2021 18:12:05
Giants, I agree that Lampard would be a good choice for Wolves. He would also get us leverage with loan players from Chelsea. We already have Mendes and his connections, and to top this with Lampard's connections could be a winner for us. Bruno Lage would only duplicate Mendes's connections, but not expand them like Lampard could. Lampard turned a mediocre Derby team into strong promotion challengers (reached the play off final), and look at Derby now, just missed relegation 'cos Sheff Wed had points deducted.

2.) 28 May 2021 18:17:41
I think the choice of new manager may be dependent on the planned transfer policy, which we're all guessing when it comes to what spending power we have for new players.

Lampard would be a solid choice if the plan is to keep buying young or bringing through from the academy. Benitez would be a good choice as a "safe pair of hands". My gut feeling is it will be someone who is a complete surprise to most of us.

I do really hope it isn't going to be Eddie Howe as personally I don't rate him, but whoever it is will have my full backing whether it's someone I'd like to see in the job or not.

3.) 28 May 2021 19:42:26
Deep that 'mediocre' Derby team finished 6th under Rowett the season before Lampard came in. With all his Chelsea connections, renewed budget (he spent a LOT more than Rowett) oh and Mason Mount on loan which frankly should have been enough to win it for them remind me where did Frank finish?! that's right in 6th again, so having bought players in and investing heavily in the team it made not a jot of difference to where they were in the league?! Also remind me how did Nuno fair in the Championship? So essentially what you are saying is that we should go for someone who in a short career has already been out performed by Nuno?! Still I'm sure he didn't repeat those mistakes at Chelsea, oh hang on yes he did! 😂
Look I have nothing agaisnt Lampard, in fact I think he comes a cross well. However as I've said before he needs to learn his trade before just being handed another top Prem job just because he used to be a good midfielder at some point! Once he's earnt a management role in the Prem then good on him. Cause right now his only actual achievement is to get a 'top four club' to finish in the top four?!

4.) 29 May 2021 08:50:53
BB - a v impressively argued case! I had previously posted that I wasn't against his appointment - due to his work with young players and a "hope" that his Chelsea connections might get us access to some of their cast offs, (which as I wrote to Demon re Lingard would sadly still improve our team), but that is a v compelling case against!
tks!

26 May 2021 16:46:13
Don't think it will be Bruno taking over just reading might be a problem getting him a work permit and I'm not so sure we will get 1 for him.

1.) 26 May 2021 17:53:45
Conte left inter?

2.) 26 May 2021 18:27:20
Q. Would any of our Sherpa Van Winning team make it into our current squad?
:)

3.) 26 May 2021 18:40:11
He'd def fit and played the exact same system as Nuno so we know the squad would suit his style.
Be a massive statement oF intent - expensive - but if you think success is expensive have a look at what failure costs!

4.) 26 May 2021 18:43:47
Probably end up at Spurs.

5.) 26 May 2021 18:58:13
Conti has some serious pedigree, one of the best managers around, he has taken on teams that are struggling and turned them around, my only worry would be it would a one or 2 season thing.

6.) 26 May 2021 19:00:08
Raging,
The tatter who wears an england cap.
😀.

7.) 26 May 2021 20:28:15
Thank heavens for Brexit then Giants.

8.) 26 May 2021 20:39:33
Zinedine Zidane 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮.

9.) 26 May 2021 21:08:49
Sydney do you mean it would take him two years to do it or he'd only be here two years?
Either way if he was as succeful as he has been elsewhere i'm all for it!
Wombourneron - we can dream but of course you are probably correct
Greyleg - saw ZZ was mentioned by Mr Bull but i'd imagine that's even more unlikely than Conte.

10.) 26 May 2021 22:21:45
Paul Lambert to return with Dean Saunders as his assistant.

11.) 26 May 2021 23:03:22
With Mick McCarthy as fitness coach.

12.) 26 May 2021 23:07:44
thefutureisoldgold and Greyleg. More chance of getting ZZ Top to do a gig than ZZ from Madrid I reckon! As for Conte to expensive I suspect but it would be an interesting ride I think with his latin temper there would be some ears burning every match!

13.) 26 May 2021 23:27:59
Re: Raging's very interesting question, obviously Bully! And one other, because Robbie Dennison would be more creative than Neves, Moutinho and Dendoncker put together, and they're all going to the Euros! FWAW.

14.) 27 May 2021 07:56:07
Future, as in he would only stay for a season or 2, I think Martinez or Lampard need to be considered, Frank's doesn't get many votes, but I think he would be a good fit.

15.) 27 May 2021 09:27:02
Sydney - like Nuno he also seems to move on - perhap all manager do thee days. Surviving for 4 years is a pretty strong sign that you have been succesful!
Although many are dismissing Frank due to his "failure" at Chelsea the bar is set somewhat lower at Wolves and he does have a v good record of developing younger players - a route rightly or wrongly we seem to have embraced.
ps did you hear Southgate this morning saying pace and athleticism are key for winning teams. As the least pacey and althetic side in the division perhaps our recruitment team could take notice and stop buying camels with the strength of a glass of water but buy playere whocan contribute to the team and contribute now!

16.) 27 May 2021 09:42:52
I see Jeff, thinks the world of Fabio, looks like he's here for the long haul, I hope he does very well going forward, the potential is there for a skinny 18 yr old,
Perhaps Adams can get him to go into the gym and beef up a bit
Coyw.

17.) 27 May 2021 10:47:00
We have one or 2 with abit of pace, but it would be good to see a commanding no nonsense midfielder to stamp his authority on a game, we seem to sit too deep a lot of the games, we need to boss the middle and set the tempo in more games.
A big pacey forward who can work on last man and upset defences, too antvtimes we get the ball wide and have no options in the middle, Raul's injury highlighted this.

18.) 27 May 2021 11:17:07
Jas, you forgot about Karl 'the crab' Henry coming back as sideways passing coach.

19.) 27 May 2021 16:20:14
If we signed Martinez we will get relegated! The man has never been able to organise a defence, which is precisely why he has struggled with Belgium despite having some of the best players in the world to work with! It's a no from me to Martinez and Lampard, let's have someone get the job on merit rather than just a recognised name please!

20.) 27 May 2021 16:21:22
Sydney - Absolutely. Nuno built a system that suited our players, tight and compact, non running defence, occassionally bursting out using Jota, Traore and Neto - the one or two fast (actually v fast) players we had - with Jimenez in the middle to tie it all together and score the goals.
It was hugely succesful!
The decision to throw the system away and ask the players to do things they simply weren't phyically capable of doing was therefore mad and combined with a horrific injury list obviously resulted in a poor season.
Again Sydney agree we didn't have the correct option available after Jimenez's injury.
V worried about all these statements/ rumours re tranfer budget. Having spent or promised to spend nearly £90m on 4 players for the future, who were not even intended to play last year, (or presuambly next), and net zero on ready to play players - Semedo and Marcal being more than financed by Jota and Doherty we now find that we have no money left for the present despite the screaming needs.
No wonder Greyleg Jeff is saying he loves Silva - he has bet the farm on him so can't really say anything else!
Lets just hope Jimenez does return and we don't have to find out if Silva can keep us up - because i'm not that optimistic!

21.) 28 May 2021 10:54:45
Future, it will be an interesting couple of weeks ahead for sure, Bully going back to your comment on merit, who do you actually think has the Merit to your satisfaction? Rafa? his last job in premier league at Newcastle wasn't really what I would call a success, yes he has in past done well, but he was at clubs where he had to money also.

Absolutely no chance his damn wages would break us lol but seems funny season is starting early today coutinho tomorrow will be some other person that will have no desire to come to wolves and work hard and play football these players will at least want EUROPEAN FOOTBALL some one like coutinho will end up at a club like arsenal that play some stupid wages.

think most of the non actives some will still be on holidays mate it will probably start the mad rush after a couple of friendlys were bruno will get to see who he needs to get in if our squad ain't up to what he wants the more you read about bruno the more excited i'm getting the calibre of players that sing his praises and say he is a excellent manager and coach is amazing good things are coming.

Ken68 re mir he has said to wolves he would like to stay in Spain and he will not sign a contract extension so assuming the artical is correct I would presume he will in a realistic world be valued at 5_6 million pounds that isn't a bad profit for us and with having silva that (Jeff) personally brought and thinks the lad will go far I think selling MIR at a profit not to bad of a situation I personally would love to see a box to box player and I've read some article that THE LEGEND Steve bull has said he thinks that (sissko spurs) is surplus to requirements and would be a excellent edition to our squad has a heart of a lion and can run all day experienced player can play in number of positions i'm not saying its what we are going for but I would PERSONALLY love him to join us wages should not be a problem and price should not be that much.

Palinho is a no go his team has said his buyout clause is 53 million euros and that is what the price is no deals if teams want to take him then that's the price so I highly doubt we will be buying at those prices.
