Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sporting have an agreement in principle for the transfer of João Palhinha, according to claims on Monday.

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã writes today that an 'eventual deal' between the clubs could be done for around €15m.

Looks like Traore is off to Liverpool.

2.) 28 May 2020 16:47:02
What makes you say that SQ? Was it when Liverpool said due to the virus 19 no team would be spending mega money on transfers or when Wolves said none of our players are for sale?

3.) 28 May 2020 16:50:08
I treat all of these as rumours until official announcements are made. Even the stuff I post, in reality all they are talking points.

4.) 28 May 2020 17:11:38
I said looks like. Hopefully not.
Premier league restarting 17th June.

5.) 28 May 2020 20:09:25
Good news on the PL returning SQ. Jas I have to agree with your comment, I can't see any big deals this summer with clubs making a huge loss due to the virus. Southampton may have to sell eight players to stay afloat (so I've read in the Beebs gossip column, could be utter tosh) .

{Ed002's Note - I don't know about the number of players but Southampton are in trouble financially.}

6.) 28 May 2020 20:32:26
I didn't realise Southampton were in trouble. What's brought that about
It can't all be down to the virus. Unfortunately they won't be the only ones. Just hope the Wolves are ok in that respect.

{Ed002's Note - Many clubs live on the edge and many clubs don’t have owners who will bolster missing income.}

7.) 29 May 2020 00:26:37
Southampton have been in financial trouble for many years the failed take over 3/ 4 years ago meant they have had to live within there means which has now been pushed to far. I would take a cut price deal for ings as back up to Raul.

8.) 29 May 2020 15:10:15
I'd give a shout for either Ward-Prouse and/ or Romeu if there was to be a "fire sale".

9.) 29 May 2020 17:10:07
The financially better-off teams will be like predators in the brief summer transfer window, picking up players cheaply. I can't see Wolves selling anyone cheaply. If Liverpool want Traore they will have to pay top, top money and I don't believe they will. The owner of Wolves has prospered this year, with his net worth jumping due to shrewd investments in healthcare. In fact we will probably pick up a few young, promising players for a lot less than we would have before.

10.) 29 May 2020 17:42:41
Not trying to be a naysayer Deep Throat, didn't Jeff Shi say Wolves are now self-sufficient? Plus Fosun lost a lot of money whenThomas Cook went under.

11.) 29 May 2020 22:06:17
Even with the collapse of Thomas Cook (who Fosun tried to save), Fosun announced a £1.69b profit.

12.) 29 May 2020 23:58:32
Nice investigative work Jas.

13.) 30 May 2020 00:18:57
“ Liverpool Wont Pay €50M Buy-Out Clause and Pull Out Of Race To Sign Inter Target Timo Werner” can’t seem them splashing out on Traore who’d cost double that.

14.) 30 May 2020 00:39:46
We won't be selling any of our players.

15.) 31 May 2020 17:09:02
Jimenez is going to be in huge demand.
His head will be turned and he must go with his head or his heart.
If we keep our squad intact I for one would be very happy.
Still so young and hungry would have to spend a fortune to get any player to improve our starting eleven.
Nuno has built a very special unit (pack)
If we sell we must buy and buy big.
But in Nuno we must trust 3 years of high quality decisions and management.
Will be fine wo we
Oh and Adama come on he will only improve under Nuno before he will become a Galactico when it’s right for us to sell and him to move on.

16.) 01 Jun 2020 10:36:53
If that's true about Raul having his head turned Realist it may explain the Vinicius for £54m from Benfica floating around the place. I personally believe that Raul has lost his heart to Wolverhampton as proved by recent photos.

17.) 01 Jun 2020 14:02:21
Fosun are an investment company of course, but they have brushed off the Thomas Cook losses and actually emerged even stronger. Losses can also be written off against future tax.

The Fosun investment in Wolves is far more than an ordinary investment, it is more like the jewel in the crown. It gives Fosun immense exposure, prestige and credibility, unlike any ordinary investment. We are now the seventh most valuable club in the Premier League and worth far more than Fosun's actual total investment in us to date. This shows what Steve Morgan could have achieved when he was handed the club for a tenner.

Too expensive I think debbie.

"Wolverhampton Wanderers can sign Real Madrid target Facundo Pellistri for just £8 million this summer" according to BeIN Sports.

Debbie McGee

1.) 28 Apr 2020 15:18:33
Never heard of him until yesterday. Again, this is just click bait and by adding the fact that Real Madrid are interested (they probably aren't) and that ex Uruguay captain Diego Forlan likes him, people seem more interested.

2.) 28 Apr 2020 19:26:55
Restarting football could lead to consiquences of life and death.

3.) 28 Apr 2020 21:36:41
Wolf- who's that for then fella, who's not aware of the current crisis?! I really don't understand why at this stage people still feel the need to pop onto websites and go 'guess what guys this is serious' it's hardly news is it?! 🙄.

Everton, West Ham and Wolves are in the race to sign 24-year-old Mexico winger Hirving Lozano from Napoli.

Debbie McGee

1.) 05 Mar 2020 09:42:08
Ex-Wolves Stephen Hunt reckons that Matt Doherty should move to a "bigger club" like Arsenal or Spurs in the summer! Bigger?

2.) 05 Mar 2020 09:58:19
Look at the table Hunty!

3.) 05 Mar 2020 14:46:54
He should if they pay him more. He is underpaid at Wolves.

4.) 05 Mar 2020 15:33:48
Stephen Hunt went on to a bigger club post Wolves: Ipswich Town F. C.

5.) 05 Mar 2020 17:40:46
Haha yeah Timmy cause Spurs and Arsenal are renowned for paying well?! That'll be why they consistently lose players over wage disputes is it?! Stephen Hunt was never an especially bright guy so this does not surprise me! How much is he on then Timmy? I would like to know what you see as underpaid?

6.) 05 Mar 2020 22:32:46
£10,000 per week. Is Jonny worth 3.6 times more (£36,673)?

7.) 05 Mar 2020 23:27:26
Timmy I can see where those numbers are coming from but I would take them with a HUGE pinch of salt! For a start I am sceltical how much is based on fact rather than guesses and second they have no info on the finer details of the contract.

For example he may have had a yearly wage rise of 20% written in or more likely like the rest of the squad a HUGE bonus for getting Euro footy or maybe a £5k app and clean sheet bonus?

If he really has signed a four and a half year deal on that kind of money then he doesn't need a new club he needs a new agent! With that being the case I'm not sure what moving would achieve, with the same agent he will just move onto a similar contract!

Comparing it to Ottos is pointless, as we signed Otto from Athletico and would have needed to match hos wages to do so whereas Matt came from semi-pros Bohemians so just apples and pears!

8.) 06 Mar 2020 10:11:16
I don't think Doherty is the type of player who would leave just for more money. He is tremendously loyal and he knows that Nuno has made him what he is today. If Nuno had moved to Arsenal when rumoured, I think Doherty would have moved soon after. After all, Arsenal was his boyhood club. We shouldn't be complacent about any of our players. I hope Matt is going to be fitted with (old) golden handcuffs by a big new financial package.

9.) 06 Mar 2020 12:28:50
I think your right Deep, in so much as Matt has always come across as one of those rare breeds of fototballer who is actually grateful for what the club's given him! Still though I'm not sure his wages are on anyone but his agent. If any of us were buying a car and they wanted £10k who would actually be silly enough to go 'well actually I want to give you £30k for it'?! To be honest I think it just shows how well managed the club is, think about it how easy is it for us to improve his wages at that level if Spurs do come calling? Whereas if he's ALREADY on £30k+ and wants an increase well then that forces a decision! At 28 and currently on a four year deal the club is in a VERY strong position not sure any of us can complain with that? COYW 🐺.

10.) 06 Mar 2020 21:50:05
He has to provide for his family. If someone offered me 2 or 3 times as much as I am currently making I might consider it.

11.) 07 Mar 2020 00:16:35
Behave Timmy, anything over £1k a week and the 'provide for his family' line is almost offensive! Also you may 'consider' other options but if you'd signed a long contract it becomes somewhat academic! I get your point in that he deserves more but let's keep some reality with this eh ;)

12.) 08 Mar 2020 00:17:02
You should look at the numbers. The British/ Irish players get paid the least. Why is that? If Connor is good enough to play on the England team, why is he one of the lowest paid players?

13.) 08 Mar 2020 14:56:06
Thats just no.

14.) 08 Mar 2020 23:55:36
Sorry the above post was sent in error this is what I wanted to say:
Again though Timmy that's just not true! Sterling, Sancho, Maguire, Pickford and Kane are just some examples of England players that will be among the higher earners at their clubs! You've done what you always like to do and used two very niche examples to make a point that has little basis in truth. Also you need to look beyond the player and look at the aspects of the transfer i. e. has the player played at a high level previously like Neves (Porto) Jonny (Athletico) whereas like I said before Coady was at Hudderfield and Doherty at Bohemians. The problem is Timmy something like players wages is VERY nuanced, a whole number of factors come into it like how many moves they’ve had, which club they started, what age did they break into the first team?!
Like I said before I get your point with Docs but to suggest there's some kind of injustice going on with homegrown players just isn’t true, essentially as I’ve told you before a players contract is only as good as their agent and who picks their agent?!
I am surprised mind, if you want to pick a sector to champion on wages I salute you but please take some advice and stay away from football players! Even for Docs and Coady I struggle to find genuine sympathy for anyone who gets to play footy for a living and will bank between £750k-£1m this year (when you consider match and loyalty bonuses)! Maybe try looking at the NHS pay-scale and you’ll find me right in your corner! 😉.

03 Mar 2020 10:28:28
According to the Mail " Arsenal could be interested in Wolves and Mexico forward Raul Jimenez, 28, to replace Alexandre Lacazette, if the 28-year-old Frenchman leaves at the end of the season. "

Hardly a step forward for Raul?

Debbie McGee

1.) 03 Mar 2020 13:51:21
Lolz'if only a tenth of these media fabricated click bait dreams come to pass'all we'll have left up the mol is the women and under 9s.

2.) 03 Mar 2020 13:53:17
Also read that Nuno is wanted by Atletico Madrid to replace Diego Simeone who is moving to PSG.

3.) 03 Mar 2020 17:59:50
There was a hilarious clickbait in the Mail (the above rumour was in the Express) Saying "Premier League Clubs Watching Sanderson" the non-article went on to describe how well he is doing at Cardiff, that was it. Some bored journo working from home, wracking his/ her brains feverously for a story, then just made one up.

4.) 05 Mar 2020 17:41:35
I've said it before and I'll say it again Arsenal couldn't afford him!

Wolverhampton Wanderers have recorded a £21.64m profit for their first year back in the Premier League.

The figures for the year ending 2018-19 contrast sharply with the £55.15m loss from 2018 as the club were promoted back to the top flight.

Where is the Villa fan who knew all about Wolves "financial dire straights", who warned about going into admin. etc.?

Debbie McGee

1.) 18 Feb 2020 15:45:33
Debbie, I think the Villa fan was looking at Villa's accounts!

2.) 18 Feb 2020 16:32:21
If Villa go down, they'll go out of business.

3.) 18 Feb 2020 17:07:42
Jas'i can only hope.

4.) 18 Feb 2020 17:59:52
Bear in mind they suffered a loss of approx £50m last season and nearly went out of business. New owners came in and loaned them £75m then spent £140m on new players. Villa Park no longer a club asset as it's been sold to one of the owners subsidiary companies. They'll have to sell about £200m worth of players which they haven't got. Grealish is probably their most saleable asset and he's not worth more than £40m.

5.) 19 Feb 2020 13:38:31
I'd take him down the wolves for £40m.

06 Feb 2020 19:18:30
Not specific to Wolves, but, Premier League clubs vote for return to longer summer transfer window to bring it in line with the rest of Europe.

I've noticed in the past year or so there has been so many positive things posted in here from supporters. There was a time on social media (Twitter) if something positive was mentioned or celebrated people were classed as a "happy clapper" there seems to be a slight element left on here (but I get that too esp from older supporters who have witnessed hard times) . It's also funny how either WBA fans or Vile fans have infiltrated here and started to post nonsense (a virus slowing the Chinese economy being the best to date) this truly is a marker of how far we've come. I'd love to see an addition or two to the squad, just to strengthen or give a plan B, what I am flattered with the quality of the players Wolves / Nuno are chasing, not panic buying (look at Villa's awful summer recruitment) . Look at the players Nuno has let go ( Cav and Costa for example) there was a time where they'd have been in any Wolves starting eleven in the PL.
I suppose the convoluted point I'm trying to make is Wolves have come on so far in such a short time, let's enjoy it. Wolves ay we!

Debbie McGee

1.) 28 Jan 2020 14:40:37
Great Post Debbie I'm with you all the way👍😁👌⚽📯.

2.) 28 Jan 2020 14:59:33
Fully agree Debbie I've witnessed the hard times and couldn't have dreamed to what great things have happened to our club.
Foson have turned this club into a super club with one of the best manager's backroom team and of course a team full of superstars that I could ever wish for.
I for one was gutted to see Cav and Costa leave but hearing from Leeds fan's he's not pulling up many tree's so he was never good enough for the premiership I'm still not sure on Cav but as a squad player he was very useful.
We need to get sighnings in but we don't need to panic bye as we only need player's that will improve this team Jan is hard to get deals done
But a couple of addition's which I think will come in before Friday we are in a great position and we've more than proved we can hold our own against any of the top teams in this league.
So like you say let's enjoy this journey we've got one he'll of a club. come on you wolves🐺🧡🖤.

3.) 28 Jan 2020 17:59:39
Like I said Debs, your knocking out some good stuff! ;)

4.) 28 Jan 2020 18:47:19
Does Somerset Wolf think Oliviera is one of the additions we need? Thought we were after premiership -class players; doubt this is one.

5.) 28 Jan 2020 19:22:30
well sid debbie always best not too dive in for bad deals wait for the right deal and more importantly the right player we are a club on the up for sure!

6.) 28 Jan 2020 20:30:00
Looking at the current table, we are:
7th highest scorers
Joint 6th fewest goals conceded along with chelsea&spurs
7th best goal difference
Not bad eh?
And we have played Liverpool&Man City both home&away (scoring 6 conceding 4)the two biggest goals scorers by a mile in the league.
Yes if we can sign the right players we will be even stronger but if we don't we will still be a very strong premier league side challenging and competing.
Another thought I have had is if we don't qualify for Europe next season (which is 50/ 50 at worst imo that we will) is how much better we would be in the league. The variables for success and progression are mind blowing. All positive and on board the wolvo nuno buzz bus for me lol.
If I have misread the table and made an error I don't give a hoot you all get my jist (I checked double checked and triple checked) . if you don't and are not on board I'm certain at some point in the near future you will be.
Enjoy the latter stages of the January transfer window you can not say its not thrilling which ever way you look at it.

7.) 29 Jan 2020 00:14:24
Still won't be good enough for the negative ones on here phil mate.

8.) 29 Jan 2020 06:32:24
To true mate but the way it's going for us they would be silly not to.

9.) 29 Jan 2020 10:02:12
sorry if this is too positive but it's from the ever reliable pen

“If you look at how much money they spent last summer, approaching £100m, going on the back of spending roughly the same amount the season before so that’s £200m plus this month, maybe £30m if they get [Daniel] Podence and [Nelson] Oliveira. I’d call that pretty lavish spending really.

“As for Molineux, I don’t sense they [Fosun] are cutting back on spending, you know, they are looking at building their own U23 venue, they are looking at redeveloping Molineux just in different ways. When he says about transfer targets, I would say that the club in January is the biggest factor in that as you don’t see many huge deals done in January.

“I think the summer will be the litmus test for what he’s saying there. For all the noises I’m hearing, Fosun are more committed than ever really to Wolves, and in fact more so, they have become more important to Fosun as the years have gone on in terms of their global portfolio of businesses. As far as Wolves go, I’ve not noticed any slowing down in spending and I don’t anticipate one either. ”

Tim Spiers.

10.) 29 Jan 2020 11:44:54
Can explain why you post the same twice and the first sentence different from one another?
I'm confused to who you are saying sorry to for being too positive yet on the other post your adresssing all negative folk.

11.) 29 Jan 2020 13:42:54
Belfast wolf I think you have got my post wrong when have I mentioned
OLIVIERA would be a good addition he was never mentioned read my post again!

12.) 29 Jan 2020 13:56:16
Sorry Phil, I was apologising to SQ, Coven et al for being positive, I think the phrase used is a "little Irony"

13.) 29 Jan 2020 14:14:39
Thanks Nuno I know my enthusiasm and passion is way OTT I was worried I done wrong.
Sound as a pound mate
Cheers up the wolves
Lol your post was good reading nice1

Tottenham may be forced to lower their £7m valuation of Victor Wanyama as they struggle to find a buyer for the 28-year-old Kenya midfielder. - Opinion surely he's worth a punt at that money?

Debbie McGee

1.) 25 Jan 2020 10:10:50
If he could stay fit then yes. Problem is he's a bit like Jack Wilshire in that he keeps getting little niggles that keep him out for ages. From that point of view, no thanks.

2.) 25 Jan 2020 10:45:05
Agree Jas M also its got to the point with wilshere where I forgot he was at west ham.

3.) 25 Jan 2020 12:12:36
Don't think Fosun can afford it. We've just splashed out another 180,000 on Lonwijk. That was from the pie sales on Thursday night.

18 Jul 2018 20:37:20
Looks like Gelson Martins *could* be on his way to Wolves 🐺

"The agreement with Gelson Martins is complete but he needs to resolve his situation with Sporting and Wolverhampton" (Ondacero. es)

Debbie McGee

1.) 18 Jul 2018 20:54:40
His going to be a great signing for athletico madrid.

2.) 19 Jul 2018 13:50:10
I'd be very surprised if Wolves will want to do any business with Sporting now tbh, also as Wolvessteve pointed out Martins has gone to Atletico.

I'm thinking maybe his options at Utd. are limited so he's looking to emulate other younger players who are getting opportunities in Germany etc.
