Eds,

Are any of you able to give a simple version of the new Spending Cap?

On the radio, it said it is the prize money from the League only which will be multiplied by an as yet to be agreed number.

{Ed002's Note - It works on the principle of overall 85% of revenue being spent by clubs not in Europe on wages for the player playing staff, amortised transfer fees (which can be spread over the length of the contract) and fees paid to agents and other representatives. For the clubs in Europe the figure drops to 70% (to meet UEFA rules). Details are still being worked on, particularly if a more contraversial salary cap is to be agreed - and that is perhaps what you heard on the radio.

The plan on the table limits clubs spending on salaries and fees (so not transfer fees to a multiple of the Broadcast earnings of the bottom club from the previous season - the figure used in an example was 6 - so the example of Norwich from last season would be £94M x 6 - which is £564M. If it were 5 it would drop to £470M.}

Cheers Ed.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

Thankyou ED for taking the time to explain the new rules.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome - and there will be more changes.}

Wolves get a million pound bonus if Leicester get promoted. Part of the Conor Coady deal.

30 Apr 2024 06:24:38
Good mews

30 Apr 2024 09:44:34
No need to get catty Nigelt2

26 Apr 2024 12:00:06
Reported that the club have tabled a bid of £12M for Osayi Samuel.

26 Apr 2024 13:30:33
Certainly would fill a position I believe we need to upgrade.

22 Apr 2024 22:49:00
Confirmed now by Keen Wolves will be taking up the £4.3million option to sign Doyle.

23 Apr 2024 09:29:34
Hopefully a "no brainer" Rated.

23 Apr 2024 10:32:16
He’s worth every Penny. Young, home grown, talented, fits into our team and style of play. A great bit of business

23 Apr 2024 13:18:54
Good piece of business.

23 Apr 2024 13:58:59
Agreed.

23 Apr 2024 14:35:57
Doyle was a linked part of the deal to sell Matheus Nunes. At the low option price it was a deliberate gift from City to get the Nunes transfer done. Although we were criticised in some quarters, there is no doubt that Wolves got the better of City in that whole saga. It's somehow fitting that Nunes is underperforming for City now.

23 Apr 2024 17:46:54
We should turn around and flip him.

23 Apr 2024 19:56:53
Benik Afobe style? Nah he is a quality player. He will keep getting better.

23 Apr 2024 20:08:58
Problem is Handsome City would be VERY pleased to hear that, as they are retaining a 50% sell on clause! 🤣
Anyways, I get that you were joking cause he's VERY much needed in this squad. I honestly think he could just be our new Rueben in about two seasons time, this kids got class 👍🐺

23 Apr 2024 20:15:33
One of them thought he was a superstar and didn’t want to be here. The other one knows he’s learning his trade still, and wants to be here- wants to be part of what GON is planning. Plus, less than £4.5 million for Doyler and a decent little profit on sulky Nunes, I think we’ve definitely done well.

24 Apr 2024 19:37:49
".Doyle joined Wolves on a season-long loan from City with an option to buy for a reported £4.3 million. Also included in the deal would be a fifty percent sell-on clause on any profit

Wolves are 'almost certainly' ready to make the deal permanent in the summer.

After becoming one of Wolves' most consistent performers, and with fans adoring the Man City player, the midlands are expected to command a fee upwards of £30 million for the 22-year-old."

25 Apr 2024 06:42:29
Apart from 1good goal a few good passes.not seen anything from him.just a cheaper option than having to buy another player that all

22 Apr 2024 07:30:18
Wolves are considering Arsenal's 25-year-old England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, Liverpool's 25-year-old Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, and Sunderland's 23-year-old English goalkeeper Anthony Patterson as replacements if Portugal goalkeeper Jose Sa, 31, leaves the club this summer.

This is from The Sun, so take it with a handful of salt.

But as a talking point, would you like to see a new keeper?

22 Apr 2024 10:17:20
Ramsdale to Wolves is a joke after his antics towards our fans last season

22 Apr 2024 11:27:05
I think we are in the market for a new keeper, several names linked with Wolves.

22 Apr 2024 14:05:11
We were linked with Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro. 19 year old from AZ Alkmaar

18 Apr 2024 21:27:50
Alex Berenguer is at the end of his contract and is attracting Premier League attention, including from Wolves. Attacking midfielder.

15 Apr 2024 22:42:21
Ait-Nouri to Man City for £60 million.

16 Apr 2024 02:04:17
I wonder if Man City Will consider a player exchange with Nunez returning.

16 Apr 2024 02:09:10
No, Alt Nori has been enquired about by City with a cash plus player deal Sergio Gomez.

16 Apr 2024 06:03:27
Wasn't the source of this story the same one claiming that Jose Sa was off to Forest and Kilman to Napoli.

I'll believe it when it's official.

16 Apr 2024 07:02:28
There will now be weeks of speculation. The irresponsible culture of journalists making things up to keep their jobs!

16 Apr 2024 14:26:36
I personally wait until at least 3 reliable sources have stated things before posting rumours as a rule.

16 Apr 2024 17:26:56
Stop me if I'm wrong here, isn't there a 50% sell-on clause in RAN's contract where Angers gets 50% of the profit?

So if that is the case, *if* there was cash and player transfer, how would that work?

16 Apr 2024 18:33:52
£10million is the max sell on fee.

16 Apr 2024 19:07:42
Angers have a 50% clause on any profit made. So as AIT was signed for £9.5m, if he was sold for £10m, Angers would get £250k not £5m.

Wolves have the option of buying out the release clause for £9.5m which depending on anticipated fee, they are looking to take up.

17 Apr 2024 11:55:59
I believe everything I read lol only just making aware ha ha

12 Apr 2024 20:42:02
Cunha, Hwang and Dawson will all be in the match squad tomorrow, Bellegarde not quite there yet.

10 Apr 2024 15:53:15
Well longtime since posting rumour page went wrong just to say with all the reports Neto Gomes Kilman will
be leaving if they get substantial money. If we sell all three for a total of 150 mill or more plus the players out on lone who we can sell gives GON a canny pot. Don't know what people think but Neto and Kilman I would for 100mill for both then get another 5or 6players in.

10 Apr 2024 17:44:19
Not related, reports coming out of Spain are saying Pep is ready to offload Matheus Nenes this summer (and four other players). Apparently he's failed to impress Pep.

11 Apr 2024 14:34:12
Nunes thought he was better than he actually is, karma is sweet.

11 Apr 2024 18:17:58
He could have been the Star man/ lynchpin of this team, and he would have been loved by the fans.

But he chose the money and the role of the forgotten man and the fans will turn on him.

12 Apr 2024 23:30:24
Tbh glad he went, Gomes is leaps and bounds better than him.

16 Apr 2024 10:02:58
Neto and kilman for £100 million Jesus you are deluded!

17 Apr 2024 09:41:24
Why on earth would wolves want Nunes back? . Over the season he was with us his performances were generally dire. How on earth we managed to get our money back plus is beyond me.

08 Apr 2024 08:22:56
We're being linked with Ansu Fati again, he hasn't exactly pulled up trees at Brighton, who incidentally are not going to sign the forward.

08 Apr 2024 13:08:02
Fabio Silva was hardly impressive against Celtic yesterday. Lost possession a number of times. Booked for diving in the box, but overruled and a penalty given. The jury is out on him. Word is that Wolves will move him on at a massive loss. If he can't hack it in Scotland, where can he?

09 Apr 2024 14:27:25
One player linked to when Nuno was coach was Mexico international attacking center midfielder Obelin Pineda, I would love to see him in a Wolves uniform.

De Winter is quick when he gets ball great to watch.

Che Adams would be good up too maybe, good shot.

10 Apr 2024 09:23:09
Suggested Che Adams for us last year or even longer than that.
Divided opinions I've seen on here regarding che Adams.
My opinion stays as it always has in that he would be a good signing for us.

10 Apr 2024 13:54:39
I’d sign Fati definitely. But only because of the quality songs we could sing in the Southbank.
Che Adams? No thank you, not with his record and goals per game tally. We can, should and will, attract better than that

10 Apr 2024 14:45:59
Lol Halftimepie re fatty songs.

My thinking with che Adams an adequate back up squad player with the never know if we/GON can bring him on a better goal/assist output.
I believe he is better than his record suggests.
Of course just my opinion mate as is yours.
COME ON WANDERERS 👌

15 Apr 2024 10:31:56
Steve Bull was better than his record suggested when he signed for Wolves from West Brom. If Gary sees something in Che Adams, that's good enough for me.
