Following the draw last night I have to say that you have had a good cup run this year Ed, done well, but time to step aside now in the next round.
The way we have played this season you lot have no chance of progressing any further š.
Obviously I am not serious, bet you will be supporting Wolves tomorrow night though?
{Ed001's Note - that did make me laugh, good one.
Yes mate, even though we have been terrible and have no chance of winning the league in reality, I am still hoping that Arsenal and Citeh throw away enough points to allow us to close the gap. And, I have to admit, I would be saddened to lose Wolves from the Prem, so I still hope the miracle occurs.}

I hope the miracle occurs as well Ed, but these days will just settle for a couple more wins. You do well to have to read all our depressing posts, cheers mate.
{Ed001's Note - you keep showing signs of coming to life, still a long way to go, so fingers crossed! Yeah it is so sad to read, especially as it has been such a big decline over such a short period. And it is not like Leicester's, which was highs from cheating either. You earnt your highs.}
17 Feb 2026 14:57:00
Cheers for your nice comments mate and putting up with us on here, as they say, good to talk š
{Ed001's Note - let's hope I will be 'putting up' with you all moaning about another Prem season next season, however unlikely! If not, at least you might enjoy a season in the Championship, with more regular victories to savour.}
17 Feb 2026 16:09:50
Ed001's will this site still be avalable for comments when Wolves are in the championship.
{Ed001's Note - of course. It has been here since before you got promoted.}
17 Feb 2026 19:14:12
Thank you will still post hope we beat you in the FA cup but yous get CL football next season.
{Ed001's Note - thank you mate. Hard to say with LFC whether you will face last season's champions or this season's Slotball! It could go either way, depending on whether Slot lets them off the leash or not.}

Good luck to luke matheson tonight
Hes on the bench for macclesfield
16 Feb 2026 19:39:42
My feelings too Abbey I was hoping for port vale or Bristol city at home hopefully the scousers will not go full strength
16 Feb 2026 20:31:20
Another āone for the futureā we never saw
16 Feb 2026 21:43:42
Didn't want to win the cup anyway, we can concentrate on a top six finish now?. Notice Lucky Arsenal get their usual draw . Must be fixed like VAR!
17 Feb 2026 07:25:21
Call me bonkers, but think we could beat them at home
17 Feb 2026 09:56:06
The FA Cup draw looks suspect to me. The 4 biggest clubs have been kept apart, Arsenal, Citeh. Pool and Chelsea. Funny that.
17 Feb 2026 16:56:07
If you think those two that were pulling the balls out have sufficient intellect and guile to be able to do that can I please have some of what you're on, Deep.
17 Feb 2026 19:28:48
They can tell a weighted or cold ball from the others without intellect old wulf, I noted the same Deep Throat, dunno the odds on it happening randomly, but there you go, who knows?
17 Feb 2026 20:37:50
Bit of grey matter required to tell warmer or heavier Abbey so I'm not having this particular conspiracy theory.
18 Feb 2026 13:34:50
Fair point old wulf, a rougher coated surface?
15 Feb 2026 16:48:59
We won, not pretty but I thought we did ok. Great free kick from Joao as well deserved to go in.
Easy game Wednesday I think and a certain 3 points š

If we can just let a few cows and maybe a few pigs onto the mol pitch today and tomorrow, and get the fire brigade to empty a few tanks we might just slow Arsenal down come wed Banksy.
Then again we've seen enough rubbish on the pitch already this season.
Seriously it was abit farcical watching yesterday, it was always the pitch dictating the game with slip slides bobbles and puddles, then the wind played its part if you tried to put it in the air, but in many ways it was what the cup is all about.
I'd imagine the clubs hairdressers will be busy washing the Seasalt and mud out of a few barnets this morning. Lol
16 Feb 2026 08:00:01
Agree. The pitch was a disgrace, no idea why it was allowed to go on, but we adapted,
Went down to their level. And were fitter than they were, awful as a watch., but hope for a decent home tie in tonights draw
With better finishing, could have been 3 or 4
16 Feb 2026 09:00:30
I think you are on to something Abbey Stan Cullis had the pitch watered before before the Honved game even though it was already soaked and muddy to stop them playing. Thought we dug in and scrapped well and Rob set up the team well plus what a last ditch tackle by Santi brilliant work by him. Just hope for a good draw tonite COYW
16 Feb 2026 09:01:57
Like your thinking Abbeywolf, hope we do learn a little from how Brentford played against them. They didnāt like the corner tactics, problem is we need to get corners and set pieces. Play how we have sometimes this season and it could be embarrassing. I just want us to avoid getting the lowest points ever now and the season to be done.
16 Feb 2026 11:46:40
Wheels come off teams runs, and the surprise result occurs. Wed may not be the walk over the people think.
They only beat us at their place by our OGs.
I quite fancy us to shock em, and MajorFrank, if some of that Cullis style prep works for us now let's do it.
Be watching out for the draw tonight, le's hope its A. at home, B. favourable for us to.progress.
16 Feb 2026 16:51:14
We scored all the goals away to Arsenal! Very unlucky to come away with nothing, as we went head to head with them. They only scored the winner from a corner wrongly given, if I remember correctly. Yup, let's duff the pitch up Stan Cullis style. A quagmire will do nicely. And keep conceded corners down.
16 Feb 2026 19:37:00
Stick their fans in the Graham Hughes with no ponchos that would be brilliant. On a serious note I have always thought sticking the away fans in the Steve Bull lower tier gives the opposition an advantage as their fans are close to the pitch.
If we do redevelop We should consider creating a section for away fans like we do in the north bank but bigger quadrant in the south bank corner where the screen is and then we have home fans in the lower tier of the hopefully new Steve Bull stand.
15 Feb 2026 16:24:52
Well, that pitch reminds me of the Wolves pitch in the 60ās, more mud than grass. If my memory is correct though, I am sure that even on that 60ās pitch we played some very decent football, unlike today.

To be honest doog I think they'd have cancelled it if it wernt on TV.
But they like to get games over if they can these days.
I don't think they knew what to expect to start with, one ball from jackson to mane ( I think) just rolled and stopped ina puddle at the beginning.
15 Feb 2026 22:27:54
Last time I saw a pitch that bad it was derby county baseball ground it will be interesting to see whether they call off their midweek game with Walsall due to pitch condition
16 Feb 2026 08:02:21
Wolves had a good pitch in the 60's Doog although it did wear as the season went on. Baseball ground was in a different league where mud is concerned.
16 Feb 2026 15:30:42
Old Wulf, my memory isn't as good as it was. I do remember an FA Cup match against Everton (I think it was 1-1, we lost the replay) I was in the North Bank and the pitch was bloody awful.
17 Feb 2026 18:18:31
Was at that game (49 years ago tomorrow!) and I normally went in the North Bank but sat in the Molineux Street stand for the first and only time. Terry Wharton opened the scoring and Everton (cup holders) equalised from the spot (Alan Ball) around 20 minutes from full time. Attendance 53, 439.
17 Feb 2026 18:33:39
59 years not 49! Tempus fugit.
18 Feb 2026 08:38:33
Couldn't you have left it at 49 years? I would be ten years younger then LOL.
15 Feb 2026 15:46:46
So there we av it 1 0 win old classic pitch lol. We made it hard I think at times good block by santi at the death

Well we got through the quagmire against the wind but we're trying to be clever at times and it won't work on that pitch, lucky not to have been seriously caught out.
How the ref can book mosquiro when the guy had slipped I dunno, but that runs the risk now of a sending off, yet he didn't book the guy who took out Wolfe.
Tolu looks like he could get the bounce, particularly with the wind from behind this half coming.
So close from gomez. Would like a little bit more in running and not anticipating. could go anyway. COYW

That was an excellent performance by Wolves, under diabolical conditions. I kept looking for a part of the pitch where the Grimsby owner grows his spring onions and spuds.
Santiago Bueno was excellent. It was obvious a long time ago that he was perfectly suited for a sweeper role. Credit to Edwards for immediately switching him to that position.
15 Feb 2026 15:47:42
Done it, just. What a horrible pitch to see that out on. We showed some good spirit and determination.
If we could hit the target we may have had 3-4, can't really complain about anyone in those conditions, I'd praise mosquiro and bueno but thought Andre led us well too.
Armstrong still dosnt seem on the same wavelength at time and really should have given us the lead earlier.
Santi deserved his m.o.m for being there to knee home and for his blocks and the final tackle.
Onward we go into the draw let's hope we get a favourable one at home to give us all something to cheer.
Remember Wigan winning FA over man city when they went down.
15 Feb 2026 18:12:40
I offer some credit to the team today. The environment and the climate were a throwback to the 'classic' eras, and Wolves actually mixed in and were up for the 'filthy' fight, so well done for that.
15 Feb 2026 12:08:20
Transferfeed Wolves saying liverpool his most likely destination. And think the 50mill price tag is reasonable and want to get a deal done as soon as possible. They are saying if his performances keep improving the price will go up.

Wolves are in a very advantageous position regarding Mateus ManĆ©. Reports suggest that Liverpool are already making moves to sign him. The beauty is, ManĆ© is young and very talented and top clubs will desperate to make sure that rivals donāt get him. Manchester City has in the past signed players purely to stop rivals getting them.
Not sure what sell on percentage Rochdale hold on ManĆ©, but itās likely that Wolves will make about Ā£40 million on him. With this seasons successful January window, end of season expected sales, and the first parachute payment, Wolves will be extremely flush going into the 26/27 season. If Fosun doesnāt invest heavily in a side that can get promoted from the Championship at the first time of asking, their lies will be exposed and there will be no way back for them.
15 Feb 2026 16:00:26
Interesting gents, especially when you look at it in terms of sqaud. Eg do Liverpool really need another expensive CF that likely won't play much. Which in turn makes me wonder that (if it is indeed true) then would it be a sale with a loan back for next season? Let's hope so cause I think he'd rip the Champ up! š
Personally I hope we can keep him next season, especially when you consider that he's contracted till 2029 with a year's extension in our favour.
However, I also appreciate that it may not be a reality that we now find ourselves in, time will tell šŗ

Neto, well done to him. I for one will not give Fuson a penny next season. Up the wolves

Pl should fine Fosun for fielding a non competitive team and bringing the competition into disrepute, do they really think itās the best League in the World? Only seven Clubs have ever won it and two of those are no longer in it.
15 Feb 2026 11:01:52
Tolu is one who'll keep us a head above water and he may need to today judging by the rain down here in Oxfordshire. Hope Grimbsy pitch is OK. I read the FA had funded a polythene type cover to ensure the game goes ahead for tv.
Gotta get a win today surely? Although I'm not banking on it, grimsby will be well up for it, hustling and hounding, can our foreign imports handle it? Well all will be known come 4.
COYW up for the cup.
15 Feb 2026 12:21:58
I cannot see any reason for not fielding a strong side as premier is over for us. Let's have a go and RE supposedly experience of lower league football should hopefully see us through. Field a weakened side and our season could be over by 3-30 this afternoon. Put some effort in wolves and show you care.
15 Feb 2026 13:27:26
The pitch rain and wind, old style lights causing shadows, mud on boots, new experiences for some at least Johnstone mane will know it, may find it awkward, i'm worried about another embarrassment if I'm honest.
