Alan Nixon on Twitter: "WOLVES. Making a massive bid for Tammy Abraham. CHELSEA will deal. Big potential blow for ASTON VILLA. Live one. More online shortly . ".

LancashireWolf

1.) 02 Jan 2019 12:43:17
I would love Abraham at wolves.

2.) 02 Jan 2019 12:48:20
There saying 18 mill
I really am not sure on this one is he worth it, suppose he is young with promise.

3.) 02 Jan 2019 14:10:49
Tammy Abraham one for the future? I think he's one for the here and now. If he's good enough he's old enough. He's also a full England international. Sign him and play him now. Perfect foil and back-up for Jimenez. 5 goals last season in a relegated team is not bad. Imagine what he could do with the chances Wolves create.

4.) 02 Jan 2019 14:27:03
18m is a snip (note to self that this isn't actually 'real' money) if it is true.
Just think what 18m actually gets you these days!
For those aching for a striker - he is a striker.
For those aching for a big bloke - he's a big bloke.
For those aching for something slightly different - he is different.
So, for me, he suits the mould for us right now (I was really impressed with him at Bristol City and we should have made a move before Swansea did) and I'm sure he would develop under Nuno.
Fingers crossed it may happen.

5.) 02 Jan 2019 17:20:22
Just read an article saying that Abraham wouldn't be able to play for us this season if we did sign him as he has played an u23 match for Chelsea and this constitutes an official match under FIFA regulations.

6.) 02 Jan 2019 17:29:32
Great signing if true!
Can’t believe he’s only 21, seems to have been around a few years. Nuno likes young players who have got a lot of games under their belt.
Strange to say but would rather have Abraham over Falcao!
Also consider Afobe £12m in this January and £18m on an England U21 striker. £6m net ain’t bad is it?

7.) 02 Jan 2019 18:33:54
I read we would sign him but he wouldn't come to Wolves until the summer. That dovetails nicely with the "not being able to play for Wolves this season" side of things.

8.) 02 Jan 2019 23:20:39
He wouldn't be able to play for us this season as he's played 2 games for Chelsea before joining Villa. FIFA rules state that a player cannot play for more than 2 teams in a single season.

Linked with Lewis Grabban.

LancashireWolf

1.) 05 Jan 2018 20:33:35
It’s an interesting one Lancashirewolf.

I believe this is pure speculation as why would we go and buy grabban. When we were after Afobe in the summer. Afobe has a sell on value as grabban is older and he wasn’t outstanding in the prem. plus grabban would look at it as a poisonous move I feel. As wolves would improve on him in summer and he wants a route playing regular in prem. For me Villa would be better fit for him. Can see it been a loan with a value agreed for summer with villa to satisfy P&S.
the agency of the player are creating speculation so as to make sure there client is at a club sooner rather than later as he has been playing well and he know he has no future on the south coast.

2.) 05 Jan 2018 20:46:04
No. If Bournemouth want to offload him he ain't good enough for us. Surely we aspire to bigger things than a relegation battle next season?

3.) 05 Jan 2018 22:08:41
Could be they are bringing Grabbon back because they are selling Afobe .

4.) 05 Jan 2018 23:01:20
May I add I wouldn’t have afobe back either now. I’d rather give bright his chance with Mir and Nuno philosophy.

I know he was fantastic for us, but I just see Fosun and Nuno taking us to another level. And Afobe hasn’t cut the mustard in the prem. Albeit maybe that is harsh as Bournemouth have struggled with injuries and fluidity this season. But the attitude is another reason I would stay away. Things don’t go for him bang and he throws a strop - No thank you!

5.) 05 Jan 2018 23:46:37
Agree 100%.

6.) 06 Jan 2018 09:43:35
I should also say will be surprised if we go for Grabban.
Whoever we have bought the British press are always the last to find out themselves.

7.) 06 Jan 2018 14:58:29
No thank you to Grabban, I think we may make a loan and sign Bonatini permanent but that’s it for forwards.

03 Jan 2018 22:53:16
Robbie Keane in next.

LancashireWolf

1.) 04 Jan 2018 00:40:03
A lot of stories about Robbie Keane going round not sure about this one with the age but good to have round for the younger players.

2.) 04 Jan 2018 00:53:51
Random rumor from Birmingham Mail. but if they somehow predicted the weirdest move of the year. I would welcome him with open arms. I remember seeing him play when I was a kid and it was like every Christmas had come at once to wolves. Prolific at LA Galaxy too. More in his coaching years now and I doubt in Wolves plans but yeah.

3.) 04 Jan 2018 06:54:31
Could be the exact coaching experience Bright needs to help him develop.

4.) 04 Jan 2018 06:55:00
Also, we don't have a super sub - so it ticks two boxes.

5.) 04 Jan 2018 08:35:20
Yeah would love him back there has been a few occasions with his name mentioned over the years to come back, would be perfect to bring on when needed plus it brings the management and fans even closer together because he is a wolf 🐺.

6.) 04 Jan 2018 11:15:54
The Robbie Keane rumour has been lurking here for years. What's Frimpong up to these days?

7.) 04 Jan 2018 11:29:09
Just why?

8.) 04 Jan 2018 12:08:08
Robbie as keep him self super fit all the way to now. bright coming on last 20 or robbie?

9.) 04 Jan 2018 13:02:08
He still knows where the goal is and that's all that matters, he's extremely fit having been playing in India because let's face it, unless you are fit running around a football pitch in India you're not going to last five minutes. It's important for our club too, to have someone we nurtured into the game coming home to finish his career is just the sort of nostalgia we need going forward.

10.) 04 Jan 2018 13:36:51
We don’t have a super sub?

Didn’t a certain Cav come on as sub against Bristol and Brentford- and turn both games round?

11.) 04 Jan 2018 14:05:25
I'm torn on this one.
Robbie was great for us and it is heartening to know he still has an affinity with Wolves.
But he really doesn't fit the Fosun style of young, exciting talent that can appreciate in value.
Additionally, he wouldn't be coming 'home' out of any form of charitable cause, I presume he would be asking for a whopping par deal.
A 'pay as you play' deal could be interesting though.
Is Bully still fit?

12.) 04 Jan 2018 14:23:42
Not for me!
He would still be in the center circle when the rest were putting balls across! Last few times I saw him his legs had long gone.

13.) 04 Jan 2018 15:33:31
He's just like Teddy Sheringham looked at his age when he hung his boots up.

14.) 04 Jan 2018 16:35:48
stop livin in the past . robbie who would struggle to get in smallsals team!

15.) 04 Jan 2018 18:23:04
Re sign Robbie Keane? .
Is Paul Lambert back at the helm?

18 Aug 2017 17:44:26
Idrissa Sylla on Wolves shortlist.

LancashireWolf

1.) 18 Aug 2017 19:49:56
I still think striker will b a mendes man if we r spending big.

2.) 18 Aug 2017 20:28:42
Why is it hitc say that a lot of wol fans want Afobe back we want a mendes man aboubakar or soares top class striker.

3.) 18 Aug 2017 20:41:02
Nahki wells latest name linked with us might be wrong but I think he is injured.

4.) 18 Aug 2017 20:43:06
Essex HITC just make stuff up to suit they are pathetic really. They do not get any authentic news so they make it up.

31 Jul 2017 11:14:02
Tim Nash saying there will be another striker coming in as well as Bonatini.

LancashireWolf

1.) 31 Jul 2017 11:23:39
Lancs,

Tim Nash is more of an insider than most journos. Exciting news then. If true, Fosun are not messing about.

This will wind-up Mick McCarthy no end.

2.) 31 Jul 2017 11:33:09
You can see what Mick is saying though. If we were still dragging along the bottom with M&M, and Fosun had bought Ipswich instead, with them, Middlesbrough, Villa, Fulham etc etc, probably the best you could hope for is survival. And as for McCarthy himself, it's clear managers like him aren't going to be getting picked by the big spending clubs, short of a miracle he's never getting back to the Prem. It all turned for him in that hammering we took in that Baggies derby.

Lots have suffered / been knocked out by Morgans little adventure into football, while the pro modern international nature of the game has caught up and taken over.

3.) 31 Jul 2017 12:03:34
I really hope we will sign two strikers and whoever joins us, I will totally support. I must admit though that I really hope neither one will be Gray as he is over priced and has a whole lot of very unpleasant baggage. Wolves can do far better in my opinion.

4.) 31 Jul 2017 12:29:18
I'm not a great fan of gray but he is a better version of dicko. In terms of baggage I can't hold something against that he posted when he was young. We have all do daft things in our youth.
Gray and afobe would make us formidable and make teams fear coming to the molineux IMO. Plus add felxibility in formations that we need.
Plus ultimate respect to dicko to coming to us when we were at our 21st century low. UTW.

5.) 31 Jul 2017 13:02:56
If it is true that there will be another striker after Bonatini then of the names mentioned this Summer these three, in this order, would be my preferences;

1 Vincent Aboubakar
2 Andre Gray
3 Benik Afobe

Not a fan of Sam Gallagher to be honest.

Whatever - it's still a far cry from Lambert's Jonathan Hugill links!

6.) 31 Jul 2017 13:10:21
Unfortunately most egotystical footballers have baggage but people tend to have short memories particularly if the players produce the goods. Just look at John Terry. His many indiscretions hardly get a mention but if he was in a 'normal' job he'd have been hounded out years ago.

7.) 31 Jul 2017 13:16:17
Very fair comment Anewdawn. We will not sign both Afobe and Gray now and my choice between the two would be Afobe every time. Who knows -Fosun may well come up with a name we haven't considered or even heard of. Time will tell.

8.) 31 Jul 2017 13:46:43
John Terry fits the London mob brand, it's cool without being excluding, it worked because he was at Chelsea and they were loaded, and in the Capital city. Man City do fine with hoodlum / gangster types, like Tevez, Ballotelli etc, with their Oasis etc supporters, because they're the urban / street counterpart to glam Man U, they've even developed relationships with New York in that 'street' vein. The kind of thing Brum should be trying to be.

By comparison, Wolverhampton is small and provincial, run down, we wouldn't get away being gangster and still be inclusive, we're not big enough to ride it without it defining us and making us look like broken Britain.

9.) 31 Jul 2017 15:48:43
Sorry ULF but what the hell are you rambling on about? Wolves won't be buying Gray to be enhance the brand of wolves, they'll buy him because he scores goals, and that is what will help with a promotion push.

10.) 31 Jul 2017 16:02:09
Re when Gray was young - he's not putting it behind him though, his twitter account is led with a photo of the scar, he's made it his identity. What are people supposed to think, that's it's a Prussian fencing scar?

11.) 31 Jul 2017 16:15:56
Ulf,
Come again? Have you swallowed a PR or sociology textbook? Or something? Obviously we're not going to take a chance on a bad 'un like, say, a younger Joey Barton. I thought we are looking for a striker to, err, score goals, and not to enhance any brand image. We just want a bloke to do what it says on the tin. Score! And I don't mean with a teammate's missus.

12.) 31 Jul 2017 17:08:35
Cheers Doncaster wolf Afobe and gray would be dreamy though🐺🐺🐺😜😜😜
There is no baggage with gray nor Afobe. Gray was young when he posted those tweets I'm not going to guillotine him over them. They were wrong but capital punishment isn't in the offing. Afobe left because the club had no ambition and was been asset stripped at the time by Morgan and moxey did his bidding.
This is a new style of football where possession and having effective strikers will be paramount. I trust Nino in this regard I just home he doesn't u see estimate the midfield battles we will come up against as price and saiss will get found out. Also I have my reservations about 3-4-3. UTW.

13.) 31 Jul 2017 17:11:03
Ulf what is gray supposed to do about he's scar?
Put a bag on his face when he wears the shirt.
Com'on back to reality. Fans who start to support wolves won't search every players life he also paid the punishment.
We are too nice already!

14.) 31 Jul 2017 17:21:52
No, I'm arguing if they're going to spend a ton of money on Gray, it would make much more sense to spend it on Afobe. I don't doubt either could win us promotion, but Afobe is younger, more potential to develop, and a positive rather than negative match for our brand. And brand should matter to clubs hoping to be at the top.

15.) 31 Jul 2017 18:20:55
Ulf I'm sorry but give it a rest mate. You spouted all this crap about brand, identity and being urban with money shop last year and judging by the players we are signing it obviously hasn't affected us in the slightest. Every post you are just repeating yourself and it gets tedious to read. All we want is someone to come in and score goals, end of! I don't particularly want Afobe back after the 4 months of sulking and unprofessional he displayed but if he does come and does the job I'll be over the moon. Andre Gray is class at this level and has done it in a struggling premiership side too so much the better option surely.

16.) 31 Jul 2017 19:22:46
Hear hear south banker. Fo example Suarez bites someone he still plays for Barcelona does it stop them? The big club have right dodgy deals such as Barcelona claiming to save children then put youngsters to produce Nike kits in Asia. It doesn't effect the brand football fans enjoy football end of. Money shop will be gone next year. And everyone has forgot about grays past apart from you Ulf. Get with the future. I'd rather have a local lad do well with the wolves and be a good star for our youngsters! UTW.

17.) 31 Jul 2017 20:35:35
Absolutely guys. Someone on here is obsessed with our so-called brand. Brand? That's for burgers and fried chicken! Mick got us promoted with his brand, which was all about putting a shift in. Nuno is a far smarter operator than Mick, and has the backing of Fosun/ Mendes. Our brand is winning the title with fast-moving free-flowing possession-based football. I don't give a toss if our footballers or fans are urban or rural. End of.

18.) 31 Jul 2017 22:23:04
If he scored 20 goals for us and we got promoted I'm pretty sure nobody would careless about his twitter profile.

Score predictions for tomorrow then👇🏼 I'm going 2:0 wolves.

LancashireWolf

1.) 04 Aug 2017 16:41:22
I am saying 2-1 to Wolves.

2.) 04 Aug 2017 17:08:51
I hope 1-0 Wolves. I think we'll shut up shop (by moving it around rather than parking) and sneak an opportune goal. I suspect Nuno has tasked the team to keep a clean sheet above all else.

01 Aug 2017 10:30:01
Leo Bonatini to score 20+ goals this season, remember this post.

LancashireWolf

1.) 01 Aug 2017 10:49:54
Welcome Leo Bonatini!

2.) 01 aug 2017 13:24:51
scores with both feet but mostly left.

3.) 01 Aug 2017 13:39:31
I used to work in Saudi. Not much to do other than watch football in spare time. The standard of play there is not great but they pay foreigners well. I reached out to a couple of mates to see if they had any experience of watching Leo. All responses were very positive stating he was one of the league's super stars. However, they also stated he used to drift in and out of games because of what looked like boredom. I guess that won't happen in the championship! First time poster UTW.

14 Jul 2017 13:59:42
A lot of people saying Nelson Oliveira is set to sign for wolves.

LancashireWolf

1.) 14 Jul 2017 15:33:20
I think he is a waste of money for the sums I have heard banded around. Not been impressed when I have seen him for Forest or Norwich and liable to get a red card. Think clubs are inflating prices because we now have money; we still need to be shrewd.

2.) 14 Jul 2017 16:50:28
Regarding Nelson Oliveira I got to say that from what I've seen of him be it live or on TV, he does absolutely nothing for me. Very Lazy! I know a few years ago at benfica he was highly rated and thought of. there's just a nagging feeling with me that his attitude just isn't what it's supposed to be. So for me personally its a big no on that front.

3.) 14 Jul 2017 20:20:02
First year in champship 15 goals you guys mad.

23 May 2017 11:40:38
Marco Silva is in talks with Porto.

LancashireWolf

1.) 23 May 2017 12:14:02
Yep, that looks to be the case with regards MS? So that would appear to be the end of that if it was ever an option in the first place. Looks like his choice is Porto or Southampton! So our Drama goes on as usual! 😢.

2.) 23 May 2017 15:39:51
On other site their linkin us with Nuno ex Porto boss? The list gets longer lol.

3.) 23 May 2017 16:14:42
Don't forget Paulo Sousa.

4.) 23 May 2017 17:19:58
Portuguese sports news reporters advising that Nuno is to be next wolves manager . links with Mendes .

5.) 23 May 2017 17:36:04
Wouldn't rule it out Pete, definitely a step up from Lambert.

6.) 23 May 2017 17:51:44
Will not be big Sam Paul . he would never work with Mendes or Fosun . he likes total control. Nuno Santo has a decent track record took Porto to 2nd in their league behind Benfica could be an option also Mendes his agent . looks as this could explain delay as Porto waiting for Silva and the freeing Nuno Santo.

7.) 23 May 2017 18:04:01
I'm on about Nuno, Pete, I don't want big Sam.

8.) 23 May 2017 21:16:56
Just speaking to my friend who is a Valencia season ticket holder and says that Nuno would be perfect for Wolves, very aggressive and attacking football. And that Ruben Vezo will follow, Nuno also a big friend of Mendes.
