Penko
Yeah pissed already thought the kick off was dinner time.
Rob was with me drowning his sorrows.
He said he's up for the England manager's job so his brother Dave. Hic hic.
05 Jul 2026 20:38:17
Fair play, Moby, enjoy the game and try to stay awake!!!
Good guy. 👍🏻
06 Jul 2026 06:24:35
If only I'd put a bet on !!
06 Jul 2026 09:22:21
Great prediction, Abbey, you got the score and the weather forecast right. Great performance last night, and thought Tuchel's tactics were spot on. Going to a five, with Dan Burn cutting out the high balls, was genius. Great that Raul played well and scored his penalty as well. Harry's post-match interview was hilarious, topped off a brilliant night's football.
06 Jul 2026 09:58:19
They had to put everything into Major Frank, blocking in any way they could. I was a bit disappointed by Mexico in the end, they seemed to persist in the same attack over and over again.
Raul looked good, and on other days may well have beaten Pickford with the headers.
It bodes well for the Championship, though, and I felt for him when he scuffed that one chance wide.
On to Miami and Norway, Wolfe our last club interest player now, won't be easy, but we should be able to manage them.
Portugal/Spain tonight, another feast?
05 Jul 2026 17:44:20
England to lose against Mexico.
My bet 2.0.
Jimenez to score 1st goal for Mexico.
FA to give Dave Edwards England job if they lose.
Well better than nothing.
At least you will know what to expect.
05 Jul 2026 18:11:03
Have you been on the sauce, Moby! Kicks off at 1.00am. Okay with your prediction, although I think it's wrong.
Who the f*** is Dave Edwards? I know one that runs a painting contractor in Tipton!!! 😂🤣. Wolves Aye We.
05 Jul 2026 18:30:39
Who's Dave Edwards, Penko? You should know one who wore the old gold not so many years ago. Moby obviously meant Rob Edwards, with some sarcasm and sauce induced maybe. The 2-0 prediction is a bit off, imo, too.
I personally think Mexico will have a game to win, work-wise, and can see it going 3-2 either way.
Rain may help us, but their home crowd and altitude may lean it their way.
Hope it lives up to the hype. Just hope I can stay awake!
05 Jul 2026 19:32:57
All in good fun, Abbeywolf, but Moby did make me laugh.
1-0 tonight, Mexico haven't conceded yet.
05 Jul 2026 16:50:42
I hear the away top is going to be white. Any thoughts? Does anyone know when release date is?
05 Jul 2026 10:12:11
Gone quiet on signings at the moment, hope it is due to the World Cup. New manager will be working hard on identifying new players 🤞.
Would like to see a few more in ASAP, new GK, 2 wingers and at least 1 new attacking midfielder please.
Any idea what system our new manager normally plays?
05 Jul 2026 12:10:37
Banksy51, mate, I think it is 2,4,3,1, that's why they're looking for wingers. At the moment, that's all they seem to be doing. Aral Simsir looks to be going to Trasanspor of Turkey, and there is no news on Andre Luiz.
05 Jul 2026 12:19:53
Over the last several years Wolves have had a pretty atrocious track record of being proactive and intelligent when it comes to bringing new players in. I'm also starting to become concerned, but I'm hoping that it's a new manager coming in - plus the World Cup - that's gumming up the works.
I might be wrong, but with a new manager coming in and Mendes stepping up to play a bigger role, Wolves might be identifying different players. I imagine Jackson and Edwards would have been looking at players that Peixoto wouldn't want.
A Peixoto team will certainly play different football to an Edwards team.
I feel that Wolves will be looking for a new goalkeeper, left-sided centre-back, left back, one or two midfielders, one or two wingers, and two forwards. The fans forum did hint that the team going forward would be very different.
Wolves will likely start the season with players they're trying to sell. Thankfully they should have enough decent players to start the season strongly.
05 Jul 2026 13:10:30
The World Cup will inevitably delay the transfer window, but let's not forget, the vast majority of players have not gone to the World Cup at all and 32 teams have been eliminated.
If the players who did go to the World Cup have been eliminated, they will now have a few weeks off, ready to return slightly late for pre season.
So, if Wolves start the season with players they are looking to sell, then our transfer window really has taken a turn for the worse.
You have to ask: why were we unable to sell Mosquera, Toti and Toti? Is it because of the World Cup, or is it because nobody wants them.
05 Jul 2026 13:15:40
I was thinking of a 4231 type formation, DMac. At the moment, we may start the season with both Andre and Joao. I think we may need 3 more attacking players ahead of them if we do.
Raul, maybe R. Gomes, and definitely another 2 skilful, fast players. Hope you are correct, Clapped Out Zephyr, and we will continue signing players soon, and good ones. 🤞 👍
05 Jul 2026 14:10:59
Banks51, Mendes is a big problem for Wolves. Reports are saying Wolves are interested in Gustavo Sa. Going to West Ham for 17mill. Wolves must have no money whatsoever. 2 players they were interested in are going somewhere else.
Wolves are getting screwed by Mendes. Last season Uche went to CP because of him. Now Gomes deal is off, and Gustavo Sa is now going to West Ham. Something is wrong and Mendes is involved.
05 Jul 2026 16:34:10
I don't think it's the end of the world if Gustavo Sa moves to West Ham. Do Wolves desperately need a 21-year-old Portuguese attacking midfielder?
If Rodrigo Gomes and Mane are going to be playing in forward positions, I don't think the club needs another kid. They need older, more battle-hardened players.
05 Jul 2026 16:55:50
Ice, you're right, but the big if is whether Mane or Rodrigo are going to be there.
05 Jul 2026 17:01:59
The World Cup is no excuse for inactivity - are Wolves in the market for players in the tournament? - I think not. A leopard does not change its spots - more lying as usual from Fosun, with yet another dismal pre season in full swing; less than six weeks to go to the new season.
I smile when posters put their line-ups on this site with players in the team, or who have not actually signed.
04 Jul 2026 19:02:51
Not wolves related but I think Southgate was better England manager and might have done well this World Cup.
04 Jul 2026 22:50:34
No chance. Simonandlaura too defensive and wasted a very good bunch of players.
05 Jul 2026 11:07:47
Southgate bottled it against Italy after going one nil up.
05 Jul 2026 12:48:25
Southgate couldn't make changes to influence a game when it matters. Croatia, Italy, France, and Spain were all evidence of that. There was also the Nations League relegation, and that awful result against Hungary at Mol, when he should have gone.
I'm expecting us to draw the 90 mins against Mexico, and head out in ET or on penalties. Tuchel looks to me like he's trying to instruct players to do things, and they aren't always doing it. I suspect he regrets a few of his squad choices already.
04 Jul 2026 14:03:24
My lineup next season.
4-2-3-1.
Gk Anthony Patterson
Lb Moller Wolfe CB Toti CB Arrey Mbi RB Trippier
CM Doyle CM Andre
CAM Mane CAM Gomes CAM Anthony Musaba
St Jimenez.
Fer Lopez goes back to Celta.
05 Jul 2026 11:08:57
Toti and Doyle not good enough.

Will never feel sorry for VP. He sabotaged us.
04 Jul 2026 11:42:23
Correct. He's a secondhand car dealer. Give him a half decent team - Ait-Nouri, Agbadou, Semedo, Andre, Joao Gomes, JSL, Cunha - and a perfect set of fixtures and he can keep Wolves up. Remove that and he's exposed for what he is: a third-rate coach.
Wasn't VP shortening/cutting training sessions so he could bugger off to Portugal? Didn't Rob Edwards inherit a squad of players with atrocious fitness levels?
This is my major worry about Cesar Peixoto.
His family won't be leaving Portugal, so will the club have the same issues where he's trying to get him as often as possible?
I heard a rumour that Gary O'Neil was turning up to training late because he was with his family in London.
04 Jul 2026 13:21:06
If true, Zephyr, disgraceful and unprofessional for a Premier League club. Was there no oversight? Jeff must have been sleeping on the job. VP, in hindsight, looks a lightweight and unserious coach.
Maybe the Forest owner sussed him out? Would Rob have fared better if kept on? I don't know, but he certainly inherited a car crash of a squad. Maybe we need a Roy Keane type to come in and shake things up.
04 Jul 2026 13:30:40
Rumours are just that, rumours. Reminds me of the two old women talking over the fence: 'Did you hear about so and so?' And that old fella with 'em farted and said, 'You heard that, didn't you, but you didn't see it.'
03 Jul 2026 22:20:18
Although wages might have been a bit toppy for Wolves in the Championship, Nathan Ake for £7m was surely a "no brainer" and not getting involved is a bad mistake.
Homegrown, despite being Dutch, left-footed and versatile - lcb or lb.
He would have been a class above any other defender in the league.
A back 4 of Trippier, Mings, Krejci and Ake would have been - although on the old side - way too good for most Championship teams' attack!
Ps Would he have been willing to move to Wolves from Manchester?
Well, the key word is move.
He could well have stayed in the same house, his kids stayed at the same school/nursery, etc etc and driven to work instead of moving his entire family to Istanbul in Turkey!
03 Jul 2026 22:51:33
He has taken a massive pay cut to join Fenerbache. He's agreed to a £100k a week deal. Down from the £160k per week he was on at City. Plus, he's had a £4.5m signing fee, which equates to £45k per week over his 2 year contract.
Wolves are never likely to compete with wages like that in the Championship.
03 Jul 2026 23:23:04
Wasn't aware of the signing fee, and don't deny 100k would be toppy for Wolves now, the problem with getting yourself relegated, but I'd rather have proven quality than proven inadequacy.
Sell Toti Gomes and Marshall Munetsi, neither of whom should be considered for the team even in the Championship, and you would have covered both the wages and the fee, hopefully with a fair bit to spare!
04 Jul 2026 00:05:37
He's not going to join us. Let's be realistic: wages. Our owners are poor and inadequate. Championship or Champions League?
04 Jul 2026 08:12:35
I agree that the likes of Toti, Hwang, and Munetsi need to go, but the issue is, who, after seeing them play last season, is going to buy them and pay them the same as we currently do.
Toti was on £80k per week (reduced upon relegation). If a club came in and offered him, say, £35k per week, what's to stop him rejecting it and remaining at Molineux until his contract ends?
05 Jul 2026 19:53:18
Good points made - Champions League or Championship, wages, and the general toxic nature of the club over the past few years.
However, you seem to be saying why any player would join Wolves, yet Trippier and Jimenez have.
When you see the prices young prospects (especially British ones), outside of total gambles from the lower leagues, are going for, and consider the risks associated with them, it is obvious that Wolves should be aiming for a core of players like Trippier and Jimenez.
Ake is/was at the top end of that list.
Persuading him to come would have been difficult, and would have had to have been based on his family's needs over the level of football on offer.
However, as stated, his fee and wages should have been easily met by selling the unwanted players in the squad.
Of course, they were insanely paid - the club was insanely run - sorry to all those posters who, despite everything that has happened over the past few years, think everything is still fine.
But, surely, after taking a 50% cut due to relegation, they should be saleable, albeit at knock-down prices.
If you don't think Toti and Munetsi, even at knocked-down prices, cover the cost of Ake, then Wolves are in a whole heap of trouble.
They have far, far less attractive players to get rid of, and to survive they do have to raise pretty substantial sums just to pay down the debt, let alone fund whatever the ongoing costs are and the rebuild.
03 Jul 2026 18:25:16
Looks like Rui Pedro Silva is joining up again with Nuno at WHU. Shame as I hoped we could have retained his services.
03 Jul 2026 20:36:50
Don't feel sorry for VP at all, he's part of the reason we are in the Championship. Karma!
