So what I gathered from tonight is:
1: Jeff Shi has no input at the club anymore.
2: Molineux expansion/improvements are being looked at.
3: Edwards has a list of 6 players he wants to retain and build the squad around and prefers an attacking formation but has been hampered by the poor quality within the current squad.
4: Targets have already been identified and are being pursued ready to be concluded sooner rather than later.
5: Nathan has admitted that the club has floundering and was a mess when he took over but Fosun remain committed and will provide the funds to turn the mess around.

All in all, it seemed positive but let's wait and see.

I've often believed Jeff Shi was more senior/connected with Fosun than many realise. The fact that he could make such a mess of Wolves, yet come out of it effectively with a promotion seems to confirm that.
Presumably his reward was the Esports set up, but at what cost? At least £100M, as things stand.

Good, any questions about whether Shi will stick with RE?
Any good, hard questions? Keep selling? New money?
Did Shi dodge, or answer straight?

The plan is to stick with Edwards. Edwards only wants players who are committed to the club, and apparently deals with incoming players are close and have been in place for a while.
Edwards has a list of 6 players who he wants at the club. He didn't say who they were, but he said anyone else can go.

Shi said that the Directors have already decided that investment into both the squad and ground needs to happen, but again, no figures were given, as this would give other clubs an advantage.
Edwards was asked about the playing style, and accepted that it was unacceptable, but, given the summer, things will change.

Got to be honest, what else were they going to say? Actions are louder than... etc. I'll wait until I see something positive happening before I feel any reassurances.

3

13 May 2026 07:49:11
Exactly. I think this was just lip service. We'll see how soon things change.

Watching Al Nasser v V Al Hilal ... Not on purpose, it's live on TikTok, anyhow, point being Ruben Neves plays as a centre back for Al Hilal, (Ronaldo for Al Nasser. And Neves is playing superb... Jeeez, the fact we used to have player's of this quality.. to what we have become now. ☹️

Saying and doing are 2 different things. We'll know by 1st week in July, cus apparently the players coming in are already lined up. The biggest problem, though, is Edwards good enough for an assault on the Championship? Not for me, I'm afraid. He's League One at best.

An interesting point in the Club's statement announcing Nathan Shi's permanent appointment was that 'he will answer directly to the Fosun Board'.
1) Does that cut Jeff Shi completely out of the picture?
2) Does that mean Fosun do care what happens to the Club and will hold him to account?
3) Does that mean that Fosun are backing him giving his encouraging words more credence?
4) Does his comment “Our focus now is on strengthening the club, building momentum and creating a team and environment that our supporters can be proud of” also hint at ground improvements?
Maybe I'm putting 2 and 2 together to make 5 but I do find this Shi much more credible than the last one.

He doesn't say much but what he does say seems to tick the boxes. Time will tell I suppose as it's all just words if Fosun aren't sincere.

I don't want to disparage what the new CEO said, but I'm reminded of the answer by Mandy Rice-Davies in the Old Bailey trial at the heart of the Profumo scandal in the 1960s. When it was put to her that Lord Astor denied sleeping with her, she said:

"Well, he would, wouldn't he."

Long, as you say, it is reported that Shi 2 will report directly to the main Fosun Board...... phew! So, clearly for me, blame for the last few years lies squarely on Shi 1's shoulders.
The words from the Club are encouraging, eg only 6 from the current squad to be retained.... but who knows?

Is the Q and A thing still going ahead tonight? Anyone brave enough to ask Shi 2 when he intends to sack Rob?
Atmosphere will be very toxic, I feel, for the last home game, get the feeling that Jimenez will receive a nice welcome.

Will some of our players be booed every time they touch the ball? Think Toti may get some stick.
In saying this, maybe he won’t play as Rob says that some of the players have to go, expecting quite a few chances after his comments.

Liverpool, Brighton and the Third-Man Run Problem

Announcing Nathan Shi as permanent chairman at this point is Fosun taking the p. out of every Wolves fan. The sooner they leave the better.

If SHi #1 doesn't put his finger in the pie, maybe there is some hope.

VP guided Forest to Premiership safety, helped by an unbeaten run of six games. Similar to our six game winning sequence last season under VP. That would have helped Wolves this season.

2

12 May 2026 03:05:26.
VP is part of the reason we're in this mess.

7

12 May 2026 08:26:29
Wait until he's had a transfer window or clashes with the Forest owner. A lot of the dross signed in the summer were supposedly his decisions, and most have been moved on already, as have his previous January signings.

We've ended up no better off under Edwards, but let's not think that VP was going to turn it around at Wolves.

3

12 May 2026 10:49:34
VP is a prize pillock who kept Wolves in the Premier League because of JSL, Cunha, RAN, and Gomes, Andre and Munetsi at the top of their game. All the fixtures towards the end of the season fell in his favour: Also had two seriously gash teams go down, leaving him with only one relegation place to worry about. EVERYTHING fell for him.

Pre season and this season exposed him for why he is. The 'Leadership Group'. He's a secondhand car dealer masquerading as a football coach. Absolute ******.

1

12 May 2026 12:24:13
VP is a chancer and definitely not an elite PL head coach. He was simply lucky to take over a Wolves squad containing some exceptional players. He never stays anywhere very long as he gets found out. First the points, then the slump, then the payoff.

1

12 May 2026 13:11:30
I'm not sure the players signed were VP's decisions. In fact, from what was reported, not a single player signed was VP's first choice, or even second for that matter. I am genuinely interested to see what happens with him next year at Forest, to see if he is found out, or if, like every manager before him, Jeff was in fact the real problem in that scenario.

Sacking Hobbs for Tetti looks beyond stupid, and yes, Tetti was VP's man, but that decision was still Jeff's to make, and it was a very poor decision.

4

12 May 2026 15:13:22
I heard that the only player VP actually wanted was Jhon Arias. I also read that Tolu was not on VP's shopping list, but Jeff thought it best; anyone was better than no one. The problem is that VP and Edwards are head coaches. They provide the type of player they want, and the scouting/recruitment team find someone who fits and then presents them to the head coach, who then says Yay or nay.

A manager, on the other hand, identifies the players himself and then gets the scouts to compile the reports.

Hopefully Millwall won’t get promoted, and Wolves go in for Jake Cooper. Definitely one of the best centre backs in the Championship. Built like 10 brick ****houses, scores goals, and would be an ideal captain.

His age is immaterial - would be perfect for Wolves.

I imagine Jeff Shi follows this site, so get your ass into gear, Jeff, pick up the phone to your pal Nathan and put in a £4 million bid for Cooper.

7

12 May 2026 13:21:06
Jake Cooper signed a new contract in Jan. There is not a chance they are selling their club captain for £4m just months after he's signed a new contract!

4

12 May 2026 13:47:03
£4.1 will seal the deal. Type of player Wolves should be looking at. Certain he plays on the left. Can't rely on Toti.

12 May 2026 14:11:50
Haha, well, if we are just making up numbers with no basis in reality, then I reckon £2.5m will seal the deal. See, I just saved us £1.5m. You're welcome. 🤣

I think there's a Q&A Fans Forum on WM tomorrow with Shi & RE. Might be worth a listen before we all get too despondent.

12 May 2026 16:46:43
Suspect it will be the same PR BS as last time. I'll be despondent in advance. 🥴
