Having watched the lambert interview, he is buzzing to be at wolves. he says he's met one of the owners for first time and they're behind him. do not be surprised if we spend £25 million plus on players in the Summer. lambert probably already knows who he wants and the players he wants out. I personally trust that he will deliver players on par with the likes of gayle, hogan etc. uptw.

Dimir Berbatov is a free agent. . worth a punt until the end of this season, pay per game oy by goals scored?

2.) 19 Feb 2017 18:03:25
It really is hard to tell how will be shown the door, as PL is giving chances to players who were deemed to be of no use.

3.) 19 Feb 2017 18:08:36
I am still on the fence at the moment. I really want PL to do well and work but our league performances have been shoddy and this hoof ball against poor lower league teams dose not work. We need CB, CM, CF.

14 Feb 2017 22:11:40
Do fellow fans still think it's good times at wolves. the reality is were in a relegation fight. the question is are fans going to speak. the other question is who is to blame and are we going to ignore January was the perfect time to sign players we need to compete in this league. you can continue to call me negative for stating facts that some fans choose to ignore.

I think the cup run has papered over the cracks massively! My concern is why give Dicko, Evans etc new contracts when surely the end goal is promotion and these players aren't good enough! If we don't beat Chelsea the euphoria of the cup run will diminish and reality will strike home to a lot of wolves fans and Fosun! 18th in a mediocre championship is pathetic! Just look at our home form also! Is Lambert the man? The jury's still out with me, but he needs to sort it or he will def be sacked!

2.) 15 Feb 2017 07:14:29
We're all fed up of it Wednesfield but you only seam to be happy when we lose.

3.) 15 Feb 2017 09:13:02
Relegation fodder. Will finish second from bottom snd relegated with Rotherham and Aston Villa. Could experience a double relegation to League Two by 2018. This is the weakest Wolves team ever.

4.) 15 Feb 2017 09:46:07
Tristan you weren't around in the mid eighties if you think this is the worst wolves team ever.

5.) 15 Feb 2017 09:31:37
I can see Gary Rowett coming in or someone of that ilk. The problem, as mentioned, is giving contracts to players like Evans or Price. If you have a team consisting of league one players, the inevitable will happen.

I thought the new regime was to improve the squad with quality, sadly the opposite is happening and us Wolves fans just can't understand why.

6.) 15 Feb 2017 11:51:09
Wavid don't you think we are in this position because we keep changing managers. The dross needs to be shipped out which will happen end of the season a few were moved on in Jan so expect a lot more in the summer.

As stated a. Umber of times the spine in the squad needs to be addressed when Costa doesn't score we don't either. Expect Chelsea to double up on him the weekend and we will have nothing.

Forum must be wondering what the hell is going on it could've be worse we could have bought everyone and still be losing like Villa.

7.) 15 Feb 2017 12:46:03
Fair comment Darbo'giving long contract renewals to players that have consistently failed to deliver is the main mistake, managers fall out of favour'when they lead a struggling team, but all too often it's mediocre players that are to blame for poor results and performances'why these contracts were handed to the players who have been mentioned on this site before is beyond me, they should have had their contracts ran down.
Midfield is a huge problem for us, saiss and prince must surely have been worth a punt, I doubt they could do any worse than the ones who are currently in the squad.

8.) 15 Feb 2017 13:20:02
I think the biggest thing missing is a commanding CH who can control the line and push the team upfield. The gap between the lines when attacking are massive. I think Ibrahimovic would struggle to score in this team atm.

Only way we will improve is if Williamson can stay fit and then address this situation in the summer.

9.) 15 Feb 2017 14:09:40
Agree 100% guys we are in trouble we all know what the problems are and that's the spine of the team Ikeme, Batth, Stearman, Saville, Evans, Dicko and Bod, are all lower end championship players at best and to offer new contracts to these players in my opinion is a joke and doesn't show the ambition of a club looking for premier league football. On the plus side OMG what a player young Connor Ronan looks great first touch looks to play forward at all times and he's not scared to have the ball and for a skinny little runt he can hit a football as well.

10.) 15 Feb 2017 22:10:32
You have to laugh! We beat Liverpool away followed by a great away win 3-1 at Barnsley! Everyone's happy, Lambert's getting loads of praise, and there was some silly talk of the playoffs! Then 3, yes just 3, games later and it's all doom and gloom and were going down. Unbelievable!

11.) 15 Feb 2017 22:10:10
I honestly think Zenga would have done better than PL, only because he would have been picking the best 11 players (including Prince, Saiss, Tex etc) every week. The only problem with this is that we wouldn't have seen the emergence of Burgoine, Bright, Ronan and Gibbs White. Basically, you can't win.

Yes, it's all a bit of a mess, but it shouldn't take much sorting when yet another new manager comes in this summer, lol. In this case, I strongly recommend Rowett, who would jump at the chance. I get the feeling, though, that a nuclear bomb won't shift Edwards, Price, Batth and co.

12.) 16 Feb 2017 13:28:14
I am getting fed up of people saying "why are giving Evans" a contract or "Dicko" they are not good enough and not the standard we should be signing.

Look - we are rich and have money to spend. Due to FFP restrictions you need to maximum every possible asset on the books. If we give these lads a contract we can demand more money for them when they are moved on for new, fresh talent. We cannot afford to let people leave for nothing (out of contract) or for a tiny amount of market value due to contact length.

Yes we are in a relegation scrap, yes the cup run is providing us a much needed distraction but stick with the team and Lambert. He is currently playing a style to try and keep us up. He has stopped our defenders playing out the back and wants them to hit a channel in order to fight for the second ball and play. I truly believe he will be asking NEW defenders to play out the back into midfield and keep the ball more.

This can't happen overnight and it won't happen with Batth and Stearman.

Patience guys, its tough and painful but we will survive and we will be a very strong team next year.

13.) 17 Feb 2017 11:07:02
Very sensible talk wolvesgeek. Totally agree. You've just expressed some of the things I mentioned on here a few days ago. It's difficult being patient I know as does everyone else. PL must be as frustrated as the rest of us at times. Whether he is the man for the long term, I would have to say time will tell! Whether he will get it is another question all together! I was and still am of the opinion that Silva would have done a good job for us. Just a feeling combined with his track record. Hmmm! ⚽️👍😉.

09 Feb 2017 22:49:03
We were all still celebrating from the liverpool and barnsley win and got done by burton. lambert is a class act, the problem was the summer. come this summer we will see proven quality come through the door. and the likes of Savile gone.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 10 Feb 2017 08:16:44
Hope your right Wednesfield 👍.

2.) 10 Feb 2017 19:09:40
I hope PL is looking at the same crystal ball as you Wednesfield.

3.) 10 Feb 2017 20:54:53
PL did say recently that he doesn't use social media, so any message to him is pointless.

04 Feb 2017 21:23:00
Time for fans not to accept 2nd best. we're the liverpool of the championship who live in the past. I want top 6 in the premier in 4 years. we've got the money to back it and the fans. were just missing a defence and a goal scorer. lambert will smash it come the summer.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 06 Feb 2017 13:26:37
He's turned the corner for us. Hopefully we won't go down now! Outside chance of playoffs, but I think Burton showed us we still have work on the back 4 to do. If we finish top half I think we can say he's done well for us. But then again, Jackett would probably have got us to top half.

29 Jan 2017 12:32:30
Wolves in for defender Grant Hanley on loan from Newcastle United.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 29 Jan 2017 13:46:13
I would have him to replace batth

2.) 29 Jan 2017 15:13:10
And me batth is a standard championship defender we need a top defender for next season. Edwards must be captain. Hanley reminds me of paul butler lol

3.) 29 Jan 2017 15:46:23
at last, some quality where we need it most. PL must have listened to us, after all (if true) .

4.) 29 Jan 2017 16:19:09
Maybe Brighton would do business on Duffy at the end of the season? Reuniting both Hanley and Duffy at Wolves would be absolutely amazing.

5.) 29 Jan 2017 18:51:20
Yes it would be good but I heavily doubt it I hope that Mendes gives us a good defender to go for next summer.

6.) 30 Jan 2017 05:53:10
any centre back pairing look more solid without batth.

7.) 30 Jan 2017 06:23:39
I think Batth stearman look good together they always have, but anyone else he plays alongside with he ain't great but anyone thinking he's replacing Batth you need to go sit down and go to sleep because that ain't happening the The " fact " he rest him for premier league cup ties away tells you everything I'm afraid and lambert has praised him more than once so it won't happen i'm not having ago at anyone I'm Just saying the truth

8.) 30 Jan 2017 09:59:10
But he is rubiish lower champ defender

9.) 30 Jan 2017 10:46:32
The fact he's so good he gets overlooked for a big fan cup tie. Which way you look at it I guess. How many captains get dropped for those games!?

10.) 30 Jan 2017 11:38:04
Dear batth haters

Go do some research. Go compare his stats for the season to all the other central defenders in our league. You can easily do this online (not fifa) . Then, take into consideration the tactical changes, managerial changees and partner changes. Next, form an educated decision.

11.) 30 Jan 2017 11:52:55
Dear batth haters again,

I forgot to add that although his stats compared to other defenders (that's all defenders, not just centre backs) for home matches are very good (top 20), his away stats are even better (top 7).

Why am I not surprised? Molineux moaners Vs super away fans.

Be careful what you wish for.

12.) 30 Jan 2017 12:03:27
Yh I wish danny batth to be gone stearmans been a blessing since he came back and I hate to admit it because didn't like him in first place but he's playing outstanding at the moment

13.) 30 Jan 2017 12:24:58
I have thought Danny boy a weak link for ages. Loses his man, no pace. can`t organize. Been watching Romain Saiss for Morocco in the African`s. Playing CB and looked quite solid. Another option.

14.) 30 Jan 2017 13:10:44
I'd be delighted to get a solid leader in the centre of our defence. But having watched Danny play recently, he's improved a lot. His stats are very good. I actually think that given Stearman is only on loan, and Williamson is clearly not fit, we need A player in.

Hause is a top league 1 player, stroke average Championship player for me, as is Ethan E-L. I'd let them both go, and look to build a solid, experienced CB pairing. If This chap is the man, let's make it happen!

15.) 30 Jan 2017 16:29:00
Batth, Stearman and Iorfa are rubbish - we wouldn't miss any of them. A new double act of either Saiss or Williamson with Hanley would definitely give us a far better platform to build on.

16.) 30 Jan 2017 16:46:38
Stears has many more bad games than good ones that's for sure!

Priority is staying up. sign quick thinking quality player early in the summer. get graham zyro, dicko, marshall completely fit. get rid of coady, Saville, gladon, saiss, silvio, caverleiro. keep costa and Doherty. Then smash it next season with 30,000 fans behind them!

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 18 Feb 2017 20:29:09
Quite agree staying up is imperative. What does annoy me is if they can play well against Stoke, Liverpool, Chelsea. Why so bad in the league? Kick up the whats it called for.

2.) 18 Feb 2017 21:39:10
Wednesfield, I'm SO glad you aren't by me in the South Bank. I pity anyone who is by you, wherever you sit, with your constant moaning and negative comments.

3.) 19 Feb 2017 09:33:17
Agree with you PT over the summer transfers! When you look at teams doing well, what have they got in common? Quality leadership at the top, buy quality, tried tested, proved they can do it week in week out.

They all have high budgets. As we all know it's not just about spending money but about doing it in the right places on the pitch with the right quality. We need backup to cover injuries! I hope PL is up to this?

Because this is where all this starts along with the supporting staff. It has to be quality right from the top down. Our next mini project is to stay in this league. That won't be easy! Our strikers between them all couldn't strike a match let alone score goals. This we all know is a fact. But also a massive problem for us fans. ⚽️👍😉.

15 Feb 2017 11:46:45
Morgan did invest in players. but just gave the money to the wrong manager. they got scared after Johnson and o'hara and never spent again. the only players I can recall being any good were at the time Doyle fletcher and geudora.

Wednesfield wolf

15 Feb 2017 10:17:31
I don't think that I'd spend money on a season ticket to be happy when we lose. its just beyond me why fans have insisted we're on the up, when we're sitting 18th and have been for a while.

I can guarantee if we were in the top 9, I would ignore the faults and wouldn't spoil the party, but the fact is 18th is no party.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 15 Feb 2017 15:02:14
18th in league Wednesfield wolf, you are right is failure, we are still playing with Jacketts players plus kids and Jackett done better with no money to spend.
Long term contracts for Jacketts players, and we expected a football team when Fosun took over and ended up with a team of tries, who talk a good game but never change.
No wonder they are dropping season ticket prices, because we are sighning Sunday morning players on long term contracts, well not quite that bad.

14 Feb 2017 00:08:10
Poor old frankouskski worked hard but didn't score. lol.

Wednesfield wolf

13 Feb 2017 10:22:03
Evan price and Savile out all the managers have been patient enough in the hope they will produce sorry, but we're all still waiting 3 years later. time for 2 complete midfielders to come in who can actually ping the ball from 20 yards. can remember a cm doing that since rae. oh there was milijas but that is all he did, lol.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 14 Feb 2017 15:17:09
Well surprise Wednesfield wolf, you will have the privilege to watch these players you mentioned for another 3 years with the new contracts they have been given.
What a complete waste of time, looks like ground hog day is comeing back to haunt us next season with these sighnings.

Stoke are premier league and costas goal was no different to what he has been doing in the championship. to keep the faith of wolves fans they should give benfica what they want which I would say around 15m .

I'm just going off what I know and the rest of us of been told which is were a billionare club and to spend that money on a player that has already settled in after year 15m is a no brainer
