Stop talking about new managers just because he played Saville left back. zengas choice of players. I predict lambert will spend 25m in the summer and we will be in top 3 by Christmas 2017.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 19 Mar 2017 12:56:26
It was interesting hearing Doc talk about Saville a couple of days ago. Saville plied his trade at left back and was only converted to midfield recently, so people shouldn't really be shocked to see him there.

2.) 19 Mar 2017 15:49:16
I don't buy this rubbish about the pressures of playing at home. Every team in the country has huge pressures to perform in front of there own supporters. Do wolves think it is only them that get a bit of stick. Look at some of the sides in the championship who play in front of much bigger crowds than us week in week out and they seem to cope. No more excuses it time for these cowards to put in performances week in week out at home, and start sending fans home happy again. UTW.

3.) 19 Mar 2017 19:48:11
We can keep on blaming this and that for our performances when we play at home, but at the end of the day we have got to get sorted because if our home form was up to scratch we would be in play offs.
Why we can beat top clubs and lose to bottom clubs as got to stop, and molineux performances as got to change, we have to attack at home from the off then you will see the fans get behind the team, but if we play at a slow pace and defend deep with only one striker at home we deserve everything we get, Wolves fans have always been used to 2 wingers with attacking football at home from the off not boreing slow build up play with only one up front like the Rotherham game which was one of the worst games I have seen.

4.) 20 Mar 2017 09:41:28
I was at the Fulham match. Ironically Fulham played a bit like you want Wolves to play at home. Attacking football with two wide men. Luckily for Wolves they played a slow sideways-passing build up. I though Karl "the crab" Henry was playing for Fulham in disguise. Even in the final minutes they were passing every which way but forward.

5.) 20 Mar 2017 15:34:56
If we were to spend 25m in the summer, anything less than top 3 by Christmas would be a disgrace.

6.) 20 Mar 2017 16:00:12
We will probably have to spend a minimum of £25mil just to stand still. Costa has rumoured buy out clause for £25mil. If the PL come calling, he will be off (wouldn't you? ) . That equals nil expenditure
overall. If we spend £25mil on top of the Costa fee, anything less than top 2 would be disastrous.

7.) 20 Mar 2017 17:04:18
Top two next year? It takes years to build a side like Brighton have, even after spending big money. Just getting into the play offs would be a major achievement next year, especially considering Costa will leave.

I admit the squad is only 3-4 quality players away, but it takes ages for a team to gel. And we've seen before how difficult it is recruiting the right players.

8.) 20 Mar 2017 18:23:04
Fair point but trying telling Fosun. Main reason we got into such a mess this season is that Fosun tried to run before they could walk.

Anyhow I don't agree that playoffs would be that major an achievement next season for us with 3-4 quality players added. Our away form this miserable season is playoff standard. Considering that home form should be better than away form then we did get the more difficult half of the equation right. If our home form this season had been better than away form (as it should be) then we might have been strong challengers.

9.) 20 Mar 2017 19:24:41
I don't think what Fosun did was the problem. I certainly didn't here any of the fans complaining about 13 new players coming in at the start of the season. The biggest problem has been the lack of carrying on what was started and the fear of dropping the 'old guard'. Everytime we revert to Price and co, it equals disappointment but we never seem to learn.

10.) 20 Mar 2017 21:37:18
Success takes money I've said it before but look at our best player this season he cost us 13m cav has shown is quality at times 7m Ben Marshall looks decent for 2m. We all no you can get bargains out there but 9 times out of 10 you've got to spend big money to get quality. I don't think the spending will be a problem for fosun the only problem they've got is who they'll ask to spend it.

11.) 21 Mar 2017 11:10:30
Woy Hodgson according to Facebook this morning.

12.) 21 Mar 2017 12:46:20
Woy Hodgson? He's wubbish. We'd be welegated.

13.) 21 Mar 2017 14:04:14
But why Wolverhampton Wandewers? 🤔.

14.) 21 Mar 2017 15:27:04
I think Roy Hodgson would be a solid appointment for wolves and he's the kind of manager who has the knowledge to help fosun find there feet in English football. Love or loathe him he has a fantastic knowledge of game and he's well respected all over Europe. However I think that decision is for the summer right now we all need get behind PL and the boys and get away from the bottom of the league ASAP.

15.) 21 Mar 2017 18:08:48
Joking apart about Woy's speech impediment I think he would make a very decent interim coach for Wolves. His reputation and status would be immensely attractive to Fosun. But I suspect that Lambert is finally coming good and Wolves may go on a roll now. Long term, a Lambert younger track-suited type of coach is the better bet than a shorter term "safe pair of hands" Hodgson.

16.) 21 Mar 2017 20:10:27
I still see Fosun being interested in Karanka in the summer if results stay mediocre. No doubt he is in constant contact with Mendes about it.

17.) 22 Mar 2017 08:55:38
I did say last week Roy hodgson would suit wolves he'd b a great addition what do we do if pl keeps us up and just say we end up mid table roughly I thought I read somewhere that Middlesbrough were after hodgson.

18.) 22 Mar 2017 13:53:49
I'd be so gutted if we appointed Hodgson. Despise the fella after that final interview following the Iceland debacle.

If Hull go down and we don't stick with Lambert I'd be looking at Silva. Now he can speak English I'm sure Fosin/ Mendes could sell the vision to him.

19.) 22 Mar 2017 16:27:25
👍 just smith. If! Let's give him and the team a chance though. ⚽️👍😉.

19 Mar 2017 11:41:38
Wolves till I die. where is the moaning? 3 wins isn't going to compensate what has happened this season the deadwood still has to go. and the quality still has to come in. the only area we don't need at all is wingers and attacking midfielders. I'm sure we're in for a exciting summer.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 19 Mar 2017 21:26:26
I agree 3 wins won't make up for this season but you can't blame lambert for that
Yes it's taken to long for him to make his mark but let's hope we can kick on now and get some momentum going have a good pre season and kick the crap out and bring 3 to 4 quality in.

2.) 20 Mar 2017 08:46:44
Define the crap in the club Wolves till I die. I believe we do have a lot of deadwood in the club, but I wanted to know who you thought is deadwood.

3.) 21 Mar 2017 08:06:16
Evans was dead wood till last week now he is number one choice as cm so it's hard to say

yes some players will leave in the summer as always I like Price but I think he is one we will sell and Bod I like too but he is now third choice up front these are not dead wood though and will have no trouble finding clubs interested.

4.) 21 Mar 2017 15:09:07
Price, Evans, Edwards, Bathh, Saville to name but a few are division one standard players at best.
Dicko, Bodvarsson, Ikeme, Hause, Doherty back up players at best.
The summer is make or break in my opinion who we sell will tell us what direction our club takes next.

5.) 21 Mar 2017 18:58:40
I can not believe Edwards is in that list of deadwood/ league one players.
He's our top scorer, scoring 10 goals this season How many other midfielders in this league, this year have scored more? Not many. Take the goals Edwards has scored away this season for us we'd be up **** creek without a paddle.

6.) 22 Mar 2017 05:29:25
Yes he's scored 10 but most of the time he runs round like a headless chicken time to move him and the others on.

7.) 22 Mar 2017 08:07:56
Edwards is the type of player I would have in my team he never stops harrassing the opposition - exactly the player you don't want to play against-you don't have time to settle on the ball with him around!

8.) 22 Mar 2017 14:26:17
I'm never sure about Edwards. A few seasons ago he was almost out of the club, not even making Deano's lineup. Then he had some good seasons. And yes, he's done a lot this season too. But would a more commanding, creative midfielder be better? Someone who could distribute balls to the front 4 (as we now appear to have) rather than to grab a goal from time to time? That's what he was mostly doing last match I suppose, but if we still had Oniangue at the Mol I suspect he would work the ball better.

On the other hand, he's as Wolves as we've got now. He's fit, rarely being injured or booked or even substituted. Perfect for this division. But if we get promoted.

9.) 22 Mar 2017 17:43:03
I think Edwards is the perfect sub for any division from league 2 to the premier league he's the kind of player you need when you're 1-1 with 20 minute's to go and you can throw him on and he'll get you a goal. However I don't think you notice him that much if he doesn't score but I must admit he's one of only a few players who have been up for the fight this season so fair play to him.

18 Mar 2017 17:34:57
Costa is best player I've seen in a wolves shirt. he makes it look effortless. 5 top signings in the summer along with the youth coming through a pre season for dicko zyro and grahem will be nice. sorry to point the bad out but batth at fault for the fulham goal clearing the ball like a Sunday league player again. come the summer lambert must be brutal and plain and simple transfer list the players he doesn't want.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 18 Mar 2017 18:43:18
10 points out of 12 wendsfeild no mention of that instead you have a moan give it a break mate.

2.) 18 Mar 2017 19:49:24
Got to give them credit where it is deserved. Selection/ set up/ subs all worked well. Must admit I feared the worst a few weeks back, but feel confident now. However we/ they must sort out our home form. Get that sorted we could be up there next season. UTW.

3.) 18 Mar 2017 21:44:18
I was worried too even now we are only 5 points away from relegation but nearly half the division can go down must get 10 more points.

4.) 19 Mar 2017 00:22:34
I am relieved but not confident as we have 6 home matches and between the team and our moronic fans it can still go pear shaped.

5.) 19 Mar 2017 07:20:03
Paul Tamworth MIA.

6.) 19 Mar 2017 08:43:00
DerbyWolf - please don't refer to our fans as "moronic"

7.) 19 Mar 2017 09:27:10
Ed why have u removed my last post? Truth hurts some and it was truthful.

{Ed001's Note - no it was offensive, nasty and downright idiotic. You are sailing close to a ban.}

8.) 19 Mar 2017 09:27:13
Truth hurts Pinemaster, they are the biggest single negative right now
Every club that visits says the same thing - Hold them for 20/ 30 minutes and wait for the crowd to turn. That is fact
Literally every manager that comes here says the same thing.
So I wonder where they get that idea from Pinemaster?
You get them on here when its transfer time whingeing like mad over anything.
Its poor to say the least.

9.) 19 Mar 2017 09:45:01
Your lucky DerbyWolf to be able to call us loyal payin passionate fans MORONIC and get it posted my reply hasn't been.

10.) 19 Mar 2017 09:48:16
DerbyWolf have u ever thought the managers and players aren't good enough that's why the passionate payin fans show their displeasure?

11.) 19 Mar 2017 11:28:26
Yes PT as paying member I do understand but the extremes the fans go to contribute significantly to our downfall.
I don't believe it is a mere coincidence that our away form exceeds our home form.
I agree with you about the standard of some players and even the manager but public flogging at home are not the answer.
And just because you go home and away doesn't give you a God given right to be right all the time and whinge to the degree that you do.

12.) 19 Mar 2017 12:01:38
Don't you see the adverse effect it has whether the team is good enough or not?
I mean you can actually see a smile on some managers faces when they refer to it. They know the fans will kick off which helps the opposition.
Let's face it we have the master of psychological warfare here next home game . Neil Warnock.

13.) 19 Mar 2017 15:21:18
To hot get out the kitchen! Their paid enough. We're not talkin premier league or champions league.

14.) 19 Mar 2017 15:37:02
Calm down guys. With a few good results it is time to get behind the club and help secure Championship status. I would far rather rebuild from this division than div 1. We all know change is required, I don't believe Fosun are idiots. It has been a sharp learning curve for them. We can still have the dream, but let's do all we can to help the Club stay up time for harsh talk later.

15.) 21 Mar 2017 08:10:35
Fosun thought they could buy success but yes they got us Cav and Costa but also Gladon Silvio and players we loaned out Oniangue Tex so a mixed bag how to we find the next Helder Costa without being random?

18 Mar 2017 17:08:50
Anybody still want a new manager? Good win attack attack. speed up front is the key to us winning games. judge lambert after pre season.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 18 Mar 2017 17:20:52
Lambert two signings playing a major role which bodes well for the summer .

2.) 18 Mar 2017 17:38:46
Great result! Well done. Closer to safety, and the opportunity to properly plan for next season and a real push for promotion. We hopefully will now have the time for a well thought out restructure of back room and players. some to stay and some to go, and an injection of new skills and ideas. If We stay up PL must be given a chance to sort HIS team.

3.) 18 Mar 2017 17:23:24
What a change of attitude when we win, positivity at last! Older and wiser seems to be taking effect, the patina is improving with age, well done.

4.) 18 Mar 2017 19:05:54
Let's face it when we lose we get angry and won't changes I would say that goes for ever1 me included but when we win what a relief and u carnt moan about the past 2 performances well done lads keep going plezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz keep the run going UTW.

5.) 18 Mar 2017 19:44:40
Do you think we are safe?

6.) 18 Mar 2017 21:47:59
We are not safe but imagine if we were still not winning games teams like Ipswich and Brum will now be worried too.

15 Mar 2017 21:25:28
Are we as fans really going to shrug our shoulders if costa is sold?

how about keep him and sign more like him?

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 15 Mar 2017 21:31:51
Everyone has their price he probably has a buyout clause anyway.

2.) 15 Mar 2017 21:39:09
Yet everybody still slags Mendes off. Personally, I think he deserves a pat on the back. Cavaliero is a top class player, too.

3.) 15 Mar 2017 21:48:31
We can do a lot with £25m or whatever his clause is. Costa goes, Mendes gets us someone else.

4.) 15 Mar 2017 22:21:45
Let's not forget that we still have Zyro and Graham on our books.

5.) 15 Mar 2017 23:30:01
Wednesfield that's exactly what should happen. We should keep Helda and purchase more like him if we are to progress. Also go for Silva. ⚽️👍😉.

6.) 16 Mar 2017 06:27:31
Keep Costa? Against all expectations we turned his loan into a purchase in January. Kudos to us. Playoffs looked possible at that stage and the thought of Costa playing for us in the PL. Then we went on a losing streak. Now we are probably on Plan B which realistically is to get the biggest profit on Costa we can. I'm sure Costa has a buyout clause and also an agreement that he can leave on friendly terms if we failed to get promoted this season.

7.) 16 Mar 2017 06:53:36
Why are you all saying he's being sold
Said who?

8.) 16 Mar 2017 07:46:10
Just being realistic about Costa. When he came to us on loan, he had a buy out clause. His new contract with us almost certainly has a buy out release clause, my guess around the £25mil mark. The newspapers recently reported that Chelsea and Spurs are interested. Go figure.

9.) 16 Mar 2017 09:03:58
Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka will be sacked if his side fail to perform against Manchester United this weekend. That was in the DAily Star today.

10.) 16 Mar 2017 10:27:04
Hope so, I'd have him at Wolves.

11.) 16 Mar 2017 10:57:14
Fosun want to replace Lambert with Sheffield Wednesday's manager this summer. We can pay him more.

12.) 16 Mar 2017 11:39:16
Karanka has just been sacked.

13.) 16 Mar 2017 11:49:26
PT. Why would you want Karanka when your main complaint about Uncle Kenny and Lambert was that they are too negative. Boro fans had the same complaint about Karanka.

14.) 16 Mar 2017 12:23:50
Karanka is a Mendes client who brought us Costa and Cavaleiro our two most exciting players, them two together would work out brilliantly or would u rather Lambert and Thellwell combining together to continue pickin Edwards and Saville?

15.) 16 Mar 2017 12:43:55
Actually I think it is time to replace Thelwell. I'll reserve judgement on Lambert until the end of the season.

So Karanka's negative football will be ok?

Please don't get defensive. I'm just interested because you really disliked it when you perceived Jackett and Lambert as playing negatively, but you'll be happy to have Karanka who is ultra defensive.

16.) 16 Mar 2017 12:44:02
Karanka was quoted as saying ealier in the season, we just need to take games to 80 mins at 0-0 and then try and sneak one, is that really what we want?

17.) 16 Mar 2017 13:01:31
Big clear out at Wolves I want if we don't go down with coach/ manager bringing is own backroom staff in, with money we have it would be nice to persuade someone who is proven and get us to the next level, but my main concern is to hopefully stay in this division, don't want to even think about we getting relegated it would be unthinkable for our club if we did.
Would like to give credit were it's due and congratulate the team on a positive performance against a good Brentford side who are good on there own patch, just wish we can play like that at home, if we did we would of been in play offs.
10 games to go Lambert you still got time to prove yourself as a good coach especially if you play like the Brentford game.

18.) 16 Mar 2017 13:11:11
The football at molineux under Lambert is mind numbin so anybody will be an improvement! At boro his win percentage is over 46%, what's lamberts here? 😂😂😂.

19.) 16 Mar 2017 13:29:25
Karanka has gone from Middflesbrough today @derbywolf.

20.) 16 Mar 2017 13:52:07
With Karanka a client of Mendes, can only see it going one way. Carlos Carvalhal is the other summer option.

21.) 16 Mar 2017 13:52:25
Lambert's win percentage at Wolves is 38%.

Interestingly, having listened to Boro fans they too were mind-numbingly bored by Karanka’s tactics. Of course I can’t deny facts and Karanka does have a high win ratio.

So to be clear, you are happy with negative football as long as it’s winning football. There’s nothing wrong with that at all. I’d love it if we won every game for the rest of the season one-nil.

Funny thing is, Unlce Kenny had a win ratio of 46% at Wolves.

22.) 16 Mar 2017 14:10:57
I want promotion and we've more chance with Karanka than Lambert. Look at blues their supposedly playin better footy but results r crap! Would be lovely to have great football and win, but out the two when your in the championship you want to win and gain promotion to the Prem, good football or not.

23.) 16 Mar 2017 14:14:14
How many times have wolves beat a middlesboro side managed by Karanka? Still no better than a championship manager. If we got rid of PL I'd want better
KJ win % is massaged by a season in L1.

24.) 16 Mar 2017 14:25:00
Tell u what Clive let's get Ted Vizard back he had a 48.9% win ratio! 👍.

25.) 16 Mar 2017 15:33:15
Or Big Sam. His win percentage for England was 100%.

26.) 16 Mar 2017 15:50:18
I hate to tell you this PT, but Ted died.

I must be psychic. I knew someone would put the League One argument in there.

Uncle Kenny took a club that was on it's knees and managed to not only get promoted straight away, but with record points total as well.

And PT, I agree with you that we need to be promoted. So here’s the deal. You can complain about Paul Lambert losing games as that is how you judge managers, but not his style of football, however mind numbing you find it, because as you have said the result is all that matters.

27.) 16 Mar 2017 16:01:19
Mendes client Marc Wilmots has 59.1% win ratio. But he did have Hazard, DeBruyne and Lukaku in his team.

28.) 16 Mar 2017 16:08:54
It was said tongue in cheek Clive, as far as judgin managers goes isn't football a results game and that's the way chairmen boards and fans judge them?

29.) 17 Mar 2017 15:54:42
Wilmots win ratio is higher with Belgium than I thought, overall 64% but in competitive games 73.33%.

30.) 17 Mar 2017 17:02:25
He still wouldn't be good enough for some on here, their quite happy with Loser Lambert.

31.) 18 Mar 2017 16:56:16
Absolutely agree Paul. Very happy with Super Lambert. Now he has a decent squad to choose from. Great signings in January, the only manager to get the best out of Weimann. Dangerous in double figures for the first time.

What do fans think of tammy Abraham, charlie austin, jagielka, george freind as signings?

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 19 Mar 2017 13:14:14
Tammy Abraham everything for me.

2.) 19 Mar 2017 17:28:08
Tammy scores lots of goals I am sure he won't be at Bristol City next season.

3.) 19 Mar 2017 17:10:37
Austin - dream on i think tbh
But the rest yes.

4.) 19 Mar 2017 23:31:30
Don't Chelsea own Abraham? Might be able get him on loan for season.

5.) 20 Mar 2017 10:07:20
Chelsea has something like 40 players out on loan so it would be no surprise.

17 Mar 2017 17:31:42
Surely lambert knows his best team now Ikeme, iorfa, Williamson, hause ,doherty Edwards, Evans, cavaleiro, costa, marshall, bodvarsson.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 17 Mar 2017 18:35:12
That's a good line up but Marshall is doubtful for tomorrow.

2.) 17 Mar 2017 18:52:37
Where did you see that Billy?

3.) 17 Mar 2017 18:58:16
Found it Billy.

4.) 18 Mar 2017 15:56:28
Weimann to e second name on the team sheet after Costa but before Cav and then Marshall. Best forward line since the magic trio. But better cover with Dicko and Bod.

15 Mar 2017 23:33:15
Selling costa is a no go I would be fuming. Imagine costa, graham, sako, zyro, cavaleiro. There would be no panic if one gets injured because there all top players. we wouldn't have to rely on a league one player to fill the gap. a long with 2 top strikers.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 16 Mar 2017 10:52:47
Start smoking Wednesfield because it's a cert that Costa has a buy out clause and if met by a Premier League club he will be gone. Mind you the five or so players that will be funded by this will fulfill your other wishes so be happy, after all you'll be a year older and wiser next year.

15 Mar 2017 13:23:19
Costa, cavaleiro, marshall and dicko against fulham please as our front 4.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 15 Mar 2017 16:44:29
Yes, got to start with these guys. Maybe Bod rather than Dicko, but pretty spot on. Edwards to make way?

14 Mar 2017 17:56:27
Paul Tamworth, we don't need to sell to buy. we're now one of the richest clubs in the country and it would take an awful lot of spending for us to go under.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 14 Mar 2017 18:19:00
I've never said we've needed to? I've said keep Costa and build round our best players? Wish you'd read my texts properly.

Sorry but the story of coady is win the ball and pass it straight back to the other side. or jack price plays a 50 yard beautiful pass and miss control it. nice lad but he is league 1.
