news just in costa is sold cavaliero is very close to being sold so don't expect to see them again any time soon on a plus note this should mean plenty of money for the manager to spend on championship quality players onwards and upwards COYW.

1.) 26 Apr 2017 18:14:27
News just in? Can I ask from where?

2.) 26 Apr 2017 18:15:12
Personally I think someone like Marco Silva would attract better player options for us at the club. Simple as that. Just my option and have been consistent with it for months. 👍😉.

3.) 26 Apr 2017 18:24:03
JasM, lambert is a good manager, we need a very good one with potential to be great. Just my opinion. Marco Silva fits that bill. We have to make tough devious as a club and move forward. That would be moving forward in my world is all I'm saying. ⚽️👍😉.

4.) 26 Apr 2017 19:00:45
Sorry to b negative but unless there is radical change in the team we won't b going up next season at first I thought we need 4/ 5 signings but we really need 6/ 7 gk 2 CB cm 2 strikers and possibly fb our home form has been abysmal no consistency and the attitude of some players against teams below us hasn't been good enough how can we play really well in some games and dire in others it wouldn't surprise me if fosun give pl the sack at the end of season.

5.) 26 Apr 2017 19:44:31
Billy wright's slippers, I really heavily doubt both our best players are going, in this season.

6.) 26 Apr 2017 19:46:01
Silva would be a great fit for us but if it is to be Lambert we seriously need 7-8 first teamers. Out of our current senior players I'd keep Marshall, Saiss, Hause, Ikeme, maybe Iorfa and Dicko. Mason and JDB not too sure. Bath, Stears, Doc, Edwards, Price, Evans, Lonergan can all go imo.
The team requires a RADICAL overhaul if Costa and Cav do go.
Andi Weimann at 1.5 million is probably worth the risk.
The last 3 games have shown we are way off challenging next season and whilst we do have some talented kids, they are only kids.
Graham and Zyro need to wait and see.

7.) 26 Apr 2017 20:17:15
There's gladon John saville and Silvio to go on the list the prince and E banks landell to come back from loans I agree try our utmost to get marco silva seems very well organised and can motivate the team can attract players as well.

8.) 26 Apr 2017 20:31:09
all I can say is very reliable source guys but profits will be used to strengthen!

9.) 26 Apr 2017 22:07:12
Rumours are that Tammy Abraham and Tom Ince are on the verge of signing.

10.) 26 Apr 2017 23:10:37
Sako's just suffered a serious knee injury. Looks like he won't be coming home, then.

11.) 26 Apr 2017 23:11:29
All those who were against Sako coming home got their wish. Looks like he's somehow suffered the same injury as Graham, Zyro and Dicko.

12.) 26 Apr 2017 23:13:30
I think it may be a different Sako who's reptured his ACL. I hope so anyway.

13.) 26 Apr 2017 23:48:43
Really don't want Sako back if he can suffer a season ending injury whilst sitting on the bench. Wake up people. It was Mamadou SAKHO who was injured not Bakary SAKO.

14.) 26 Apr 2017 23:58:45
Yeah its the sakho from liverpool that got injured tonight.

15.) 27 Apr 2017 00:31:07
Not impressed with selling our best players! Total lack of ambition. We need quality throughout. That start at the top with the management and filters right through the trainers playing staff etc etc. If we are selling our best players this is definitely NOT good news. 😰😢😥.

16.) 27 Apr 2017 07:19:00
"All those against Sako coming home got their wish"

1. Home? Pretty sure he's from France not Wolverhampton?
2. Pretty sure I didn't see anybody on here wish Sako would get injured?
3. Not even the right Sako.

17.) 27 Apr 2017 10:04:32
Jas that would be great.

A forward 3 of Ince Abraham Graham sounds good.

We would just need 6 other players who could pass the ball on the ground to them.

I say 6 as I believe Marshall could play CM.

18.) 27 Apr 2017 09:54:38
Weimann is yet another rabbit in headlights just like Edwards and Bodvarsson. They all run and run but never quite get there! That's why Derby were happy to let him go and why we don't need him if we've any pretensions whatsoever to make a successful promotion challenge next season. We therefore need to set our sights much higher.

19.) 27 Apr 2017 11:37:01
Sorry, I heard Crystal Palace and the word 'Sako'. A tear even dropped onto my lap thinking about his poor leg and the dream over. Thankfully it was M Sako, so all is WELL. Sakoooooo.

20.) 27 Apr 2017 11:54:07
Spot on old wolf. I just thought it was me who thinks we can do better than Weimann. He is definitely not a winger or a 20 goal a season striker.

21.) 27 Apr 2017 13:48:25
us fans would like wol to sign 2 quality strikers but when we sign Weimann is he classed as a striker or versatile been played wide because the ones we hav bodvarsson dicko mason Weimann could only muster a meagre 12 goals roughly between them they do a lot of running but no but not much end product if Weimann is classed as a striker that's not good at all.

22.) 27 Apr 2017 14:00:42
Have to admit I don't think Weimann will get 20 goals, but we have nothing else to pick from seams to be the best of bad bunch, see Stearman wants to stay and if they give players like him and Saville contracts I will not be wasting my money watching players like them, sorry but with money Fosun have they need to get shut of those 2 plus a lot more eg Lonergan, Iorfa, Coady, Dicho, Bodvarson, Price, Bath, Wallace, Henry, Williamson on pay as you play contract, looks like you have a big job on your hands Lambert, because those mentioned although they will run all day they are not good enough and I forgot to mention Edwards he would be on subs bench until he offered more in midfield if he is capable of doing more which I honestly think not, but gives is all.

23.) 27 Apr 2017 15:41:57
It's not Bakary Sako that has injured ligaments. It's Mamadou Sakho the Palace defender. Same club and same surname but different spelling. Ex wolves Sako has not played enough matches to get injured. He never leaves the substitutes bench. Probably forgotten how to take his track suit off by now!

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, he has barely made the bench due to injury, rather than never leaving the subs bench.}

24.) 27 Apr 2017 18:27:56
Dating back to last summer regarding the takeover nearly all of us thought that robin li was buying the club and lepetigui to b manager the Spanish journalist was saying that all along lepetigui kept saying on numerous occasions that he was turning down the Spain job cause he wanted to manage wol the takeover dragged on for so long in the it was fosun took over was it just coincidence that lepettigue took the Spain job on the Thursday and fosun took over on the Friday would he have taken the managers job at wol if robin li had taken over does make me wonder.

25.) 27 Apr 2017 18:30:59
Sorry to correct you Ed but he's only missed 5 games this season through injury. He has been on the bench a lot but only made 7 appearances and most of those have been for last 10 mins.
He was injured a lot last season but as I said only one fairly short lived injury in 2016/ 17 season. He was sitting on the bench once again watching last night.

{Ed001's Note - he has missed 9 games at least through injury counting the League Cup, but you are right, I forgot about the African Nations being the reason he missed another chunk of games, just looked at the amount he was missing. There were seven matches he wasn't listed as injured but left out of the squad, I was told they were niggles at the time that saw him left out. That is sixteen matches out, I would consider that a lot personally.

I don't know where you got your stats from but they are wrong.}

26.) 27 Apr 2017 18:33:54
Correction. He was injured at start of season for 5 games too but still only a small amount of matches compared to the amount of times he has sat on the bench.

27.) 27 Apr 2017 22:21:45
Info from Bakary Sako injury profile on transfermarkt. I don't want to get bogged down with stats but suffice to say he has spent a significant amount of time sat on his backside in the last year or so!

well after saturdays epic performance and watching the best football I have seen in years down the mol today I did something I have never done before . a villa fan offered me a bet they they would finish higher than us I will delight in relieving him of a ten pound note just after xmas from what I saw on saturday!

1.) 16 Oct 2017 20:41:20
After the performance on Saturday night I felt compelled to post a few thoughts. I am struggling to recall a better all round performance since my first game in 1975. I am aware that we are not in the top flight and Villa are nott a Man City given where we were this time last year is remarkable.

I think we have a top manager to get the team playing in such a manner the most impressive things is the way in which players such as Danny Batth have improved under Nunos leadership.

There will be blips along the way but the futures looking bright.

Finally respect to the Villa fans who clapped during the Ikeme singing.

2.) 16 Oct 2017 20:41:24
Just watching Leicester v Albion - it's so slow, dire, can't wait to play them next season ( if they can avoid the drop)

3.) 16 Oct 2017 20:42:55
bws be careful if he gives you two fivers he might be thinking he is buying the club from you.

4.) 16 Oct 2017 22:34:22
Scotty69
Agree with all you say. I go back a further 20 yrs.
We were the top team then (Honved, Real Madrid, etc) .
I may not see us reach those heights again, but with this lot (owners, manager, trainers etc, players who are at a different level than we have seen before) . The future is golden!
UTW.

5.) 17 Oct 2017 01:48:11
We’re doing great, but still need more quality in the team / squad that’s for sure! I’m dam sure Nuno knows this and will continue to make more moves in and out rtarting in Jan. Let’s enjoy the moment as we move onward and upwards. 😉⚽️😉👍.

6.) 17 Oct 2017 08:44:30
So your still look for the negatives wolves coast when their sent none

7.) 17 Oct 2017 09:01:37
Wolves till I die spot on 👍👍 wolvescoast think you need these👓👎.

8.) 17 Oct 2017 10:47:19
wombourneron.
You're right about us being the top team in the 1950s. But and there is a but, we soon looked old-fashioned when the footballing skills of the top continental sides overtook us. One match at home to Barcelona I think (1959-ish) made us look like Villa against Wolves last Saturday! The good news now is that we are the silky, skilled footballers and we are leaving the likes of Villa in our wake. This will continue when we are in the PL and playing WBA.

9.) 17 Oct 2017 13:09:16
It’s not negative it’s positive! Do you think Man City or Man U just have only a team of great players? They’ve got a squad and while our boys are doing great. We’ve only got to lose Jota and Neves to injury and then what or who is close to their level?? Hello, do we have the same quality left in the squad take out Leo B as well. Even Nuno himself says it’s about having a quality squad not just team. Sorta makes sense! Sorry I had to make myself clear, thought common sense would have kicked in. Nuno is right and doing a brilliant job as are the team. Expect to see more in and outs in Jan in line with his strategy I would say fair play league allowing. We want promotion and a team to compete when we go up. If allowed I’m sure he will deliver. ⚽️😉👍.

10.) 17 Oct 2017 13:48:27
Wolvescoast I agree with what you say when top strengthen but your comments about must get quality leftback attacking midfeilder came across as very negative to me douglas vinagre both have excelled and it imo disrespectfull to them to get in another left back. the squad is nearly perfect 1 striker for cover for bonatini is all we need. ffp has to be adherred to. after a great win your timing couldn't of been worse to voice your opinions about the weakness of our squad. also we have quality championship players out on loan everything is covered except for bonatini.

11.) 17 Oct 2017 14:30:00
Philip789 wasn’t meant to disrespect anyone in the team as I have said many times they are doing a great job, entertaining to watch, winning, best I’ve seen them play since JOHN Richards up front with the Doug and Phil Parks in goal and bill McGarry in charge! Different type of football then though! What I mean though is the same Nuno has stated it’s not about the team it’s about the squad. Meaning whilst we have many good players I expect he wants more. Personally, I think we need an additional quality left back an attacking midfielder and a couple of strikers! What currently exists and we have are great. I still expect more to arrive in Jan and more to leave. Nuno wants top quality right across the squad knowing he’s got real quality options. That can only be good for the supports. Us! 😉👍⚽️ Onwards and upwards. hope we are injury free before Jan arrives! 🤞.

12.) 17 Oct 2017 14:50:47
Fairplay wolvescoast I get where you coming from now👍i think time will tell whether we get promoted building a team for the top flight or a team to get promoted maybe a mixture of the two. one thing for sure we're up there to be shot at now bring on preston ay can't wait for satd 👍😀⚽.

13.) 17 Oct 2017 16:02:16
We all know it will need a lot more in depth and strength if we are going to become a great again but let's get out of this good forsaken division first then watch us go we can all taste it.

14.) 17 Oct 2017 17:02:01
That was the best and most entertaining game I’ve seen by a wolves team on Saturday for so long I can’t remember and against the Vile! I was in the North Bank and at the uefa games a the Mol and second leg at white heart lane when we had 61,000 plus inside the Mol early 70s. The atmosphere was unbelievable! Nuno is doing an unbelievable job, 4.5 months in a getting a new team to play the way we do. Incredible! We are building momentum, I just fear injuries and what it will do to the rythem of the team! We’ve got some good replacements but have some brilliant players in the team right now. Here’s hoping we give Preston a slap on Saturday. ⚽️😉👍.

15.) 17 Oct 2017 19:13:56
Let's all hope wolves coast that's better
I'm sure nuno and messes have targets in place for a finishing touch to a great season so far
Got the boggies looking over their shoulder.

hi ya clive wolves I have said for many seasons the over training of our players has contributed massively to the amount of injured players we have this I can only put down to tony daleys lack of knowledge on how to keep a squad fit and healthy I cheered when I heard he was going hopefully he goes back to the vile!
