Are we all confident with less than 24hrs to go?

I fear it going to be Hugill, Julan and Mctominay. I hope its Aboubakar and Palhinha with Soares as a bonus.

Keep the faith.

mathmo

1.) 30 Aug 2017 23:47:30
I think that we are going to bring in McTominay by midday tomorrow hopefully tonight and focus on bringing in 1 or 2 strikers tomorrow and with the time remaining try to bring in a backup at left back.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 00:33:56
I'd rather us not buy anyone than panic buy and get someone worse than Diko.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 00:34:57
Mark Hughes being sacked Thursday. Tony pulis already to return. This is from ITK stoke friend who works there.

4.) 31 Aug 2017 09:11:29
Picking up vibes that Aboubakar might actually be back on track. But it looks like we've got notifications of interest in a few players, a couple of which will hopefully come off.

30 Aug 2017 13:35:51
seems were in for Colback from Newcastle on loan.

mathmo

1.) 30 Aug 2017 13:43:10
And Graham off to Leicester. If we loan Colback that will be 5 in on loan, it that the limit? Does that mean we will have to pay cash for a striker? .

2.) 30 Aug 2017 13:45:50
Want him now quality centre mid with neves.

3.) 30 Aug 2017 13:50:04
No it's only 5 in a match day squad so you have have I think 8 at a club.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 13:50:26
Colback any good?

5.) 30 Aug 2017 14:00:09
Good box to box midfielder who likes a tackle. Sits deep and breaks up the play.

6.) 30 Aug 2017 14:10:36
Colbeck much better than Saiss.

7.) 30 Aug 2017 14:26:51
Yeah definitely proved in championship and played in prem hope we get him.

8.) 30 Aug 2017 14:28:21
Colbeck is predominantly left footed whos played a lot of his career at left back aswell as midfield. he's athletic and has a good engine so maybe nuno sees him more as vying with douglas for the left wing back role . Also he can play right wing back if needed so is a versatile option.

9.) 30 Aug 2017 15:04:16
I'd play him centre mid with neves bit of a unsung hero he is 7/ 10 every week.

10.) 30 Aug 2017 15:17:11
This lad from Newcastle has got a good left peg on him so I am told, if we can get him playing deep in midfield with that lad kid we got from Porto who's also got a good boot on him then all we need is a big tall striker and those lads can launch it up to him all afternoon and give the opposition real headaches, I said this yesterday and hopefully that's why we sold the boy Dicko, not tall enough, waste of time launching the ball up to him so hopefully the centre forward they replace him with is well over 6 feet tall.

11.) 30 Aug 2017 15:37:22
Most people on here just repeat what's in news now no one saw jack colback coming did they not even a mention no one knows anything on here lol.

12.) 30 Aug 2017 17:16:49
Your reference to lads and boys suggests that you are an old timer Stan as does your desire to have the ball launched upfield. That type of football is for dinosaurs not skilful possession based teams such as Nuno is trying to create.

13.) 30 Aug 2017 20:45:22
I ain't as young as I used to be Wulf but in that league we will need to get some route one football on the go, especially in the winter when the pitches are't so good. Sometimes it's the only way, get it up to a big lad in the box and get at em. Ah that's the best way I think.

26 Aug 2017 03:29:15
A few weeks ago I did say we were after either Jota or Soares, not both.
Our main target was Aboubakar but now it seems Soares or Uth are now the front runners. that's why I said Wolves have an interest in Liverpool Hoffenheim game.
Now have a laugh my source has nothing to do with the Mol but is a waiter in in a certain restaurant frequented by Shi and other Wolves top brass.

mathmo

1.) 26 Aug 2017 11:10:36
Tell your mate to do his job and get a picture of Shi when he's in there and upload it on the Wolves Sightings page.

2.) 26 Aug 2017 11:23:50
The waiter it's not Benitez is it.

3.) 26 Aug 2017 14:25:50
Dave Edwards officially gone. Source: Tim Spiers
Really wish him well. A great servant, always gave his best. Good move for him.

4.) 26 Aug 2017 14:32:46
Dave Edwards has signed for reading all the best dangerous but not against us.

5.) 26 Aug 2017 15:21:47
Shooting practice boys, and lots of it! We need for all players in the team to contribute in front of goal!

βš½οΈπŸ˜‰πŸ‘.

6.) 26 Aug 2017 16:16:58
Essex Wolf. Benitez is not moonlighting as a waiter, he's the bloke in the Go Compare ads.

7.) 26 Aug 2017 16:33:22
Jdb, mason, wallace, mason all scored allready today.

8.) 26 Aug 2017 17:00:42
You can add Saville, Frank Nouble (Newport) and Kightley to that list.

9.) 26 Aug 2017 17:01:12
Replace one of them masons wiv saville.

10.) 26 Aug 2017 18:07:54
Mulgrew scored twice today too.

11.) 26 Aug 2017 18:34:22
Zenga Mendes and a few of the other players used to eat most weekends in fiume the Italian restaurant in Compton as my daughter used too serve them, butshe no longer works there so not sure if the others still do as Jeff shi was also seen in there.

12.) 26 Aug 2017 19:26:42
Who cares what ex players scored, Jesus. we are much better team without ALL of those players mentioned.

13.) 26 Aug 2017 20:08:03
Well said Stu, I would not want any of them back!

14.) 26 Aug 2017 22:37:36
The clown at McDonald's serves up a better dish!

15.) 26 Aug 2017 23:55:36
This is slightly annoying today we're creating a lot of chances and playing nice football leading up to these chances but there's no end product. 4 players we let go have scored today for other teams in the championship and we are struggling against the team that is rock bottom of the league.

I don't want to be the " doom and gloom " but it is frustrating today. Hopefully we can get a striker that can pull a goal out of these chances when we need to nick a winner.

18 Aug 2017 15:46:32

4.) 18 Aug 2017 19:03:55
Big Vinny from FC Porto Fuson pretty please 😯.

5.) 18 Aug 2017 19:45:10
I thought wavid hadn't posted on here for a while only a matter of time when he upsets somebody.

6.) 18 Aug 2017 20:17:47
I think Wavid got banned from here.

7.) 18 Aug 2017 20:49:36
I didn't realise he was banned is it what he said about Ronaldo wishing him having leaukemia or what it seemed to stem from then.

8.) 18 Aug 2017 21:03:27
If he has been banned from here he is not likely to last long on the Mix.

30 Jul 2017 01:32:08
Gray at 20m must be a joke, a month ago I said Jota to join on loan, my contact was spot on. The other name mentioned was Soares, which at the time I thought was more hope than reality and a deal could be done around 18m. Aboubakar seemed the more realistic target for 12m

I believe there is a strong chance one of these will be signed in the next five days.

mathmo

1.) 30 Jul 2017 11:11:01
Gray is in the last year of his contract Β£20m you must be joking Burnley would bite your hand off LOL.

2.) 30 Jul 2017 16:12:20
Stands a bloody chance. a grey is no joke. good player. doesn't get bullied off the ball.

I think we all agree last year was a great season for us breaking all our historic records in the championship, highest points tally, most games ever one, highest goal tally and least conceded.

This transfer window is pivotal to the aspirations of both our owners, manager and us, the supporters, relegation would be catastrophic, a top 6 finish a dream, and in all reality well beyond our capabilities.

So where will we finish next season? I would like to think mid table 9th would be ideal perhaps a little on the optomistic side but achievable. I base this on the following, if we could do the same and beat our records in the Prem, most won 11 and least lost 18, we could end up 12 won 9 drawn and 17 lost or 45pts.

This also ties in with how the six championship winners with a total of plus 90pts have fared in the past decade on return to Premiership. They have managed to average 44.3% of thier championship points total in their first season in the Prem. This would relate to 44pts for us. Allowing for a 3pt margin of error 42pts to 48pts would indicate on average a finish position between 10 and 14th.

I hoped for 9th because this was the position City were in when Mansour took control and 2 years later they were in Europe.

In Nuno we trust.

1.) 20 May 2018 10:02:04
Thanks mathmo, some useful information in there.

2.) 20 May 2018 16:58:56
Why would you hazard a guess at where we will end up without even knowing who will be on the team?
Wolves are going to spend big and are targeting top 6 at least.

3.) 20 May 2018 21:28:31
Timmy remind me again who exactly from the club has EVER so much as mentioned this mythical 'top six finish' which you speak of?! Teams like Everton have been plying a trade in the Prem since before the league was even called that and they don't find it easy to spend there way into the top six, yet we are going to find it a walk in the park?! Peoples arrogance/ ignorance about how the top league works is genuinely laughable! Of course with a perfect season any team COULD finish in the top six but guess what all teams will be trying it and only six will manage so not sure why we should assume that includes us?!

4.) 20 May 2018 21:53:32
Top 6 is a crowded space but with Burnley 7th it's not ridiculous and we don't know what will happen to Arsenal and Chelsea

I would be happy to be in top half with this team but if we get more players of Neves standard yes we should be higher.

5.) 21 May 2018 00:33:12
Kevin Thelwell says Wolves want to be challenging Spurs. What position did they finish in?
I doubt he would specifically mention Spurs unless he was talking about next year. If he was talking about 3 or 4 years out, he wouldn't know where Spurs would be in the table.

17 Apr 2018 14:56:06
2 players with contacts expiring in June, Liverpool and MU target, Lazio's central defender Stefan de Vrij who's 26 and Max Meyer 22years old midfielder from Schalke.

Wishful thinking for sure, but 2 class players on a free.

The E&S are reporting that City are being investigated for making 2 extra time substitutions which could contravene the new rules. Don't think anything will come of it but just want to echo how proud I am of the boys.

I think Ruddy needs to be looking over his shoulder as Norris, as far as I am concerned, is a better keeper. And well done Kourtney Hause with a commanding performance after such a long time out.

2.) 25 Oct 2017 14:47:15
Yes, all of that.

And it's worth reading Pep's rubbish about the ball, which was so difficult for his billion pound team to play with in 120 minutes but obviously mutated into his beloved Adidas ball when it came to penalties.

If only life was that simple 1877, as Tubigon says we only have a quarter of Liverpools income. We are a newly promoted club its difficult to attract top quality players, they all want champions league football.
Its all about balance, Nuno says the strength is in the pack, if we buy too many new players its a kick in the teeth to those who have worked so hard to get us promoted and could damage our team spirit.
Get Boly and Jota signed, add 2 quality strikers to replace Bonatini and Afobe, plus a quality centre saying bye bye to Miranda. Probably possible for 100m without any disruption to team spirit.
Another goalkeeper, cover for wingbacks and another midfielder would complete the picture and a top 10 finish.

I don't think you can judge from Boly's fee where we are or how much we will spend. This deal was agreed last year as we had an option to buy at a set price, likewise with Jota. Both were outstanding last year and are good buys.
I do agree we won't spend Β£200m but there is the loan market or even out of contract players to consider.
Money is not everything but judging by the top 6 it does help, using transfermarkt for squad values the top 6 are valued between Β£450/ 750m approx, our squad value not counting loan players is under Β£50m with Boly and Jota Β£75m.

Good post Bully, and totally agree we will get there but will take time. The top 6 have an income far greater than ours and to just hold the gap on squad values we need to strengthen by 150m plus per season.

Same as Sanchez, great potential but risky as a purchase, loan with a buy clause much safer option.

Any news on Max Meyer would be a brilliant signing

Big NO on Hart.

Like it, Stoke fans not impressed with Butland, prone to mistakes like Ruddy. A big NO at Β£35m, better out there for far less.
Also regarding Wilshire although injury prone financially a good addition, Free transfer, excellent midfielder (when fit) with prem experience, high wages 5m per year but easily recouped if sold on.
