Arsenal open Nuno Espirito Santo talks with Wolves boss very interested in Gunners job

Arsenal have apparently opened talks with Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo amid reports linking him with the vacant job at The Emirates.

According to Daily Mail, comment Nuno is very interested is very worrying.

sdav78

{Ed047's Note - there are so many reports out there sdav and you can bet 99.9% of them are garbage.

1.) 30 Nov 2019 08:55:34
I sincerely hope so.

2.) 30 Nov 2019 09:37:17
Nuno ain't going anywhere. Arsenal have reached their peak. They need a complete new back line which will cost a minimum of £100m. They are not a club who will spend big bucks. Nicolas Pepe, although costing £72m, is being paid over a 5 year deal as Arsenal cannot sign big players otherwise. With this in mind, they are likely to lose, Aubameyang and Lacazette in the near future. Do although Nuno may be interested, I don't think he accept the challenge of trying to stabilise a sinking ship. Wolves are on the up. Nuno bought into the dream and I think he'll stay to see the job through.

3.) 30 Nov 2019 11:47:09
Daily mail lol I will never take notice of anything that rag says.

4.) 30 Nov 2019 14:26:57
If you want 100% spectulative gossip with no basis, look no further than the Brum Mail, it contains even more BS than the Daily Mail.

5.) 30 Nov 2019 19:17:23
Apparently. Supposedly. Allegedly. The three words that feature most in all these rubbish reports. No truth in it whatsoever. The next Arsenal boss will be Allegri or Pochettino. Nuno not even in the running - thank goodness!

{Ed047's Note - I’d bet it’s neither of them either DAS

6.) 30 Nov 2019 19:34:12
Ed047 - I’ve heard differently. Pochettino first choice and Allegri second. From an Arsenal shareholder who also told me on Monday that Emery was going regardless of their midweek result.

{Ed047's Note - well I’d be happy with that outcome DAS and you’d get to keep Nuno. A win win.

He’s doing a great job with you too so will be happy if he stays.

7.) 30 Nov 2019 19:48:44
Trouble is he ain't said he's staying and what if arsenal were in better health. Dare I need answer. No nuno's silence has gone down in my opinion. The fans love him and he would do this in the blink of an eye. Blokes turning into a rascal.

8.) 30 Nov 2019 20:38:27
Demon, Nuno said it would be disrespectful to discuss the Arsenal job whilst Emery was still the manager. Emery was sacked the next morning and the reason why Nuno hasn't commented is because he was with the squad flying back from Portugal.

9.) 01 Dec 2019 12:10:35
Maybe he hasn't said anything because no approach has been made, just a thought.
Nuno is a true gentleman and if an approach had been made he would talk to Arsenal or decline them privately.

10.) 01 Dec 2019 12:56:19
Anyone noticed that Arsenal are no longer interested in Nuno, however at no stage has anyone actually spoken to anyone linked to the club. As I said, it's all made up just to sell/ view papers.

11.) 01 Dec 2019 22:39:18
Nuno is our jewel in the crown - he's done so much for our club in such a relatively short time. I always got the feeling he was "building an empire" I'd be truly gutted if he left.

Conversely, have any of you read the Johnny Philipps article in the E&S? it quite a good one, pretty much mentions "life after Nuno" just in terms of the way LFC has the same plan should / when / if Jurgen Klopp leaves.

12.) 02 Dec 2019 10:41:32
Despite the size of arsenal there finds are complicated as outlined above with the Pepe transfer. I cannot see them wanting to pay compensation for a manager plus wages on top when there are options available on the free. Pochettino would appeal with what he achieved at Spurs with little spend over the last few years however allegri has a winners mentality something arsenal have been missing for a long time now.

15 Jul 2019 09:53:08
Oh dear, megastore now open, away kit revealed but no new signings announced.
A fair few on here were convinced this would be the occasion to reveal our new super signings, what next?

sdav78

1.) 15 Jul 2019 10:08:06
Really like the away kit for next season. Just read an interesting article from Nuno stating the club desperately need to add players for next season but so far nothing in the pipeline. He wants a small squad to keep everybody involved but says our current squad is now too small.

2.) 15 Jul 2019 11:20:57
Bet you couldn't wait to type that out could you Sdav? Signings will be revealled this week I think.

3.) 15 Jul 2019 11:33:22
The reality is contracts and leave etc mean that player availability is limited; especially if you up the quality of players who have been playing in national competitions. last year was the unusual one for us. I would anticipate activity in the last 3 weeks of the window.

4.) 15 Jul 2019 11:50:02
It’s all conjecture RKO with some pretty wild guessing going on. At the end of the day no one on here knows eff all, I sincerely hope we do sign at least 2 new established
Players before the season starts, by which time we will have a much better idea of just how committed Fosun are because this squad great quality as it is just ain’t big enough.
We got away with it last season I. e. no major injuries but you can bet your life it won’t happen 2 seasons on the bounce.

5.) 15 Jul 2019 13:08:15
The “marquee signings being announced in China” was always a lame duck. Wolves really do need reinforcements though.

6.) 15 Jul 2019 17:04:11
Chinese don't want to spend the bling that tells me they not backing the manager. And we all know how that ends.

7.) 15 Jul 2019 17:38:56
sdav78 - if you were a Wolves fan you’d know that we haven’t had any serious injuries for the past TWO seasons since Nuno and his back room staff arrived. It’s not luck pal.

8.) 15 Jul 2019 19:28:20
I’ve been a Wolves fan for 55 years 1st game at molineaux in 1964 lost to Man Utd and got relegated that season.
Nuno undoubtedly has amazing back room staff but injuries will come along at some point, I don’t think anyone can argue the fact that we need cover even the man himself has said we need new signings.

9.) 16 Jul 2019 02:57:41
Bored baggie klaxon 🚨 @sdav79 (Yes this means yow)

10.) 16 Jul 2019 11:31:59
Who the f**k is @sdav79, got it wrong again debs but eh nothing new there.

20 May 2019 11:31:58
Cavaleiro to go and we're keeping Traore
whilst I trust in Nono generally WTF!

sdav78

1.) 20 May 2019 12:34:42
Traore has a lot more to offer. Cavaleiro is not good enough for prem he’s proved that this season I know Traore not been great difference is you can see the potential, I’ve said all season give Nuno preseason with him and I think he will have a massive season for us next time.

2.) 20 May 2019 13:05:00
Cavaleiro has not been given enough game time in the prem to judge if he is good enough or not. He has only had 6 starts and 17 sub appearance and scored 3 goals. I think his impact would have exceeded Costa and Traore had he been given the same run of games Costa was given at the start of the season.
Cavaleiro has power, balance and skill and will be a loss if sold.

3.) 20 May 2019 13:12:33
What you mean the same Cavalerio who scored on his first touch in the premier league?
I personally prefer cav over traore but the end of the day I trust Nunos judgement he knows the players better than any of us.

4.) 20 May 2019 14:37:32
Traore is a wide player of a front 3 who’s played out of position all season when he did play there he was best player on pitch he tore Tottenham apart on his own away before coming off injured name a game where Cavaleiro did that we wouldn’t of got passed Shrewsbury without his assist wouldn’t of took a massive 3 points at west ham without his goal which was the kickstart of our season after Man City draw.

5.) 20 May 2019 14:39:07
And saying Cavaleiro has power what Traore doesn’t the lads an animal just needs some work and who’s better to sort it than Nuno.

6.) 20 May 2019 15:13:30
It is a difficult one if you had to choose, I'd keep both we are going to need them. 😉.

7.) 20 May 2019 16:17:01
I’d keep both and sell Costa. Both them on the wing and Rondon upfront would be decent.

8.) 20 May 2019 17:38:16
Nuno only wants a small squad so, if we are to progress, like it or not both Cav and Costa will have to go to make way for superior players. Both have had enough chances in terms of showing what they can do on the pitch and also in training where full scale games are a regular occurrence.

9.) 20 May 2019 19:40:10
As soon as we went down to two up front, Costa and Cav looked surplus to requirements. I believe they are both Premier standard players, whatever some might think. Just not top 6 Premier standard, which is hopefully where we're looking.

10.) 20 May 2019 19:42:18
Cavaleiro scored at a 15 goal per season clip. That's not bad.

11.) 20 May 2019 20:38:33
Nunos army, no one said Traore wasn't a beast. I was just making a point that given a proper run in the team Cav would have done more than the other 2. I did'nt say the other 2 were crap, but obviously it touched a nerve.

12.) 20 May 2019 23:53:46
WE ARE IN EUROPE!

Just thought I'd throw that in as I have to keep pinching myself!

Look, as we are in Europe and pre-season will start early, I can't see much 'outward bound' transfer activity happening until the end of the window.
The bulk of the current squad will play in Europe with a handful of fringe players - including Traore, Cav, and possibly Costa, together with the u23's.
Any new players will not be 'bedded in' until the start of the Prem.

That's my assessment.
If we were to offload anyone, for me it would be Costa.

13.) 21 May 2019 14:05:04
Camo. Not touched a nerve at all just cracks me up all season people been on Traore’s back when he’s not been given a regular run in a position he’s strong at because of our system. He’s shown in patches he could be a world beater with a few touches which I think we’ve got the best manager to do it.

14.) 21 May 2019 20:19:53
No end product you, can’t coach class!

15.) 22 May 2019 19:26:03
sdav78 Try Sterling mate before pep worked with him. of course you can teach the final cross, ball in to striker or final finish that's what makes a manager better than another the way you can improve your players.

16.) 23 May 2019 08:06:35
Systems suit some players better than others we play a tight system and players know exactly what they have to do compare that with City who rely on individual skill more

Traore doesn't seem to fit the team but he has skills and can be developed into a decent player like Mahrez at City or even Salah if he can shoot and score better.

The Express are reporting that wolves are second in the race to sign Ballotelli be hind Newcastle PLEASE GOD HE SIGNS FOR NEWCASTLE!,

sdav78

1.) 04 Jan 2019 14:24:50
The Express are well known for fantasy so I wouldn't read too much into it.

2.) 04 Jan 2019 14:49:51
I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but I'd certainly take him. PL winner, Italy international, good goalscoring record at the highest level (except Liverpool) . No longer getting in trouble. Rather have him over Tammy Abraham, but each to his own I suppose.

3.) 04 Jan 2019 16:27:02
No chance lazy selfish player trouble maker Abraham any day over him.

4.) 04 Jan 2019 17:25:10
So Seagullwolf, you'd rather have an unproven player than a proven international who hasn't been in trouble in the last 5 years?

5.) 04 Jan 2019 17:45:31
This just lazy journalism rehash of a bs story from the summer.

Could someone please explain to me the logic behind us potentially signing Che Adams,
We've already got a 43million pound forward who can't find the back of the net why the **** would we sign another one.

sdav78

1.) 06 Nov 2023 08:01:54
Just clickbait.

2.) 06 Nov 2023 12:34:10
sdav,
I rate Chi Adams and suggested it would be a good signing at the beginning of the last transfer window.
Due to our low budget.

I think if fabio is gone either sold or out on loan this January then Chi Adams would imo be a better option than fabio.
But I feel the summer transfer window 2024 is where we most likely to get in a jiminez esq striker.

But to find a player who can score frequently is very hard unless you big 6 or big 7or8.
And even so there's no guarantee.
We've been burned with Guedes cutrone.

I take it Chi Adams hasn't been scoring many in the championship so far this season.
I get understand your post.
I replying as I posted I liked him and suggested him as I said above.

04 Nov 2023 17:26:37
Forget the referee and a poor decision it is our indecisiveness in front of goal and our inability to put a pass in front of teammates hit with the relevant amount of force, that was absolute crap

Coady,a fit boly, and Saiss that would never have happened. Coady leadership is so badly missed. Sa is looking dodgy at times, Johnny not having a good season Killman usually so dependant had an awful game, Clollins only seems to look sideways or backwards one shining light at the back Bueno.
Podence thinks he can beat every player on the pitch and his fancy flicks result in loss of possession, Adama still lacking a persistent end product and I really hoped Costa would cut it but age seems to have caught up with him, his positional sense is good but poor service and his lack of control = no goals.
Tuscel NOW pay him whatever it takes and give him a sizeable transfer kitty otherwise a message to Fosun DO ONE!

Tuchel come to a relegation fight? Just spotted a pig flying past my window. ????

2.) 24 Oct 2022 13:17:41
You're deluded if you think we'll get the likes of Tuchel or Poch.
Sean Dyche is who the club need to bring in has experiemce of getting out of relegation scraps and won't take the players bs either.

3.) 24 Oct 2022 21:45:39
Spot on, Rated. As usual

30 Dec 2019 07:40:02
Last night I went to bed pissed off and very angry, but today I woke up one VERY VERY VERY proud Wolves fan, my team turned round a 2-0 deficit against the current champions of England and not 2 full days later matched the current European champions and were stitched over by VAR.

sdav78

1.) 30 Dec 2019 11:24:26
Bloody agree.

2.) 30 Dec 2019 18:26:30
Quite right too. were as good on our day as any team in the land. my mind boggles how good were going to be after jan transfer window. plus with the amazing talent of youngsters we have. the futures bright.

It’s no good having a player who can beat half of the opposition and then fail to deliver any end product 9 times out of 10. Traore cost us points in both the opening fixtures,
get rid for maximum price and invest in our squad which is still to small.

If Fosun aren’t going to back him I wouldn’t blame him for leaving, it’s obvious to an idiot he needs to get in a goal scoring striker ASAP. Silva needs to go out on loan to help in his development, I’m sure he will come good.
Cutrone is not the answer to our problems as for Gibbs white🙄🤬.

GON says there is room for improvement no s**t Sherlock, 3 major issues 1) playing out from the back don't with Sa in goal that is just stupid 2) play the ball to feet, not slightly be hind or underhit 3) Take that number nine shirt off Silva it is an insult to previous centre forwards of which he most most most certainly is not
