Don't shoot the messenger guys/ gals, but I saw this on another site &, for me, first time I saw it mentioned, says Wolves interested in Edin Dzeko, 34,but might be good target man?

I thought yesterday when it was rumoured he was potentially available that he'd be a useful short term option. But apparently he's turned down offers from us and West Ham.

2.) 26 Jan 2021 18:35:48
A player I've been advocating for 2+ players would be a great signing.
Dzêko has had a falling out with Fonseca the manager but was recently talked of going to Juve - which never materialised.
Would be a food signing imho - experience and nous to the team.

Guys, I don't want to be a party pooper, but I believe some posters are gilding the lily somewhat. Yes, super we got the three points but who honestly, hand on heart, thinks we'd have come away with that result after the first 15 mins? We rode our luck and to say otherwise is putting a plaster over a broken limb. Our defence was in tatters; run ragged and Semedo put on his pants for their goal. Neves didn't even bother to tackle and Coady, well he turned his back on the shot instead of being a bit braver and try to block it. Congrats that we got three points but besides Boly our defence was a mess. Of course, that's how I read the game. Only my opinion.

Perfectly said Belfast,
It may seem it's a party feeling and it is but only because we got 3 points.
We have been playing really poor imo mostly down to the players, coming up agaisnt an in form arsenal the clock hadn't hit 4 minutes and we could easily of been 2 down, at that point I thought no chance we are going to win. After 20 minutes or so we were still under the cosh, having the penalty the sending off changed our fortunes and even better as mouthino scored a cracker from out of the blue, even better with the 2nd sending off . All this good fortune from being totally outplayed to winning makes the winning feeling better.
A lot of fans talking about being dragged into the relegation fight the win was vital.

2.) 03 Feb 2021 12:06:06
Spot on Belfast.

3.) 03 Feb 2021 13:10:54
Belfast - snap. Bit harsh on Neves but .

4.) 03 Feb 2021 16:54:16
Hardly, Future, he was nutmegged.

5.) 03 Feb 2021 19:48:48
Cant deny he was beaten but Pepe had gone past Semedo when surely Neves wasn't expecting that and so he was probably a little wrong footed and not set.
Yes he should have anticipated and should do better

Oh go on then ok you are right|! |!

Just reading here, Liverpool have bought Ben Davies for£2 mill, also, £1 mill initial loan for Ozan Kabak and rising to £18 mill or thereabouts; now, despite them owing Wolves around 15 mill for Jota, not bad business, how can we not get "deals" like this? I'm thinking, with Mendez being an agent used by us, does this over-inflate our targets somewhat? How can we not get defenders for £2 million!? Also, take the coup for the baggies, Minamino on loan to Southampton. guys, something amiss with our transfer policy!

Belfastwolf!

1.) 02 Feb 2021 12:40:49
Wolves signed Jose Willian despite still paying off other deals, in fact we still owe some to Liverpool for Hoever (depending on apps) so as long as the books balance then it has absolutely nothing to do with a clubs ability to negotiate with other clubs. What you seem to be missing here is that it has far less to do with the price negotiated (most clubs will have a price in mind no matter who comes in) it's FAR more about the level of risk involved. If a team like Pool sign a player like Davies there is virtually no risk cause if he fails there they will always be able to recoup the money by selling him to teams below them in the league. If we tie Davies down to a decent contract (which at our place will take more of a chunk of the wage budget than at a club like Pool) then they fail to make the cut then it can be MUCH harder to shift them! Just look at Miranda, how many years have we been paying him for ALREADY without the big pay off we've now had to give him?! Sadly Belfast the reality is that £2m to Liverpool is the equivalent of a £250k signing to us!

2.) 02 Feb 2021 14:29:25
Excellent post BB. Now do that analysis on Silva.

28 Jan 2021 20:24:28
Just read of the wonderful contribution Nuno donated to the "combat food poverty" in Wolverhampton. This guy is donating £250k out of his own money- his own money! - to help the less-well-off in the city. Yes, other guys have done other projects-&, fair dues to them, but not many take it from their own pocket. Take a bow Mr Nuno. 👏👏👏.

Wow that's brilliant.
What a man proud to have such an admirable manager at our club.
Well done Nuno. 👍👍👍.

2.) 28 Jan 2021 22:15:00
We run a food bank from our Church and the generosity of people is amazing. We are very privileged to have Nuno as the leader of our pack. Well done sir!

3.) 28 Jan 2021 22:49:09
That's an Amazing gesture,
Well done Nuno,
Proud of him.
Should be knighted, MBE, OBE,
ABC, BBC, ITV,
A man who cares beyond our beloved game 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.

4.) 29 Jan 2021 05:53:19
What a guy! FWAW.

5.) 29 Jan 2021 14:18:23
Nuno is a top top manager and human being. We are so lucky to have him at our club.

And yet, certain contributors on here want him out. Deluded.

24 Jan 2021 10:34:54
Rafa Benitez left his post in China. guess Arsenal or Newcastle possible destination. If only. 🙄.

Belfastwolf!

1.) 24 Jan 2021 12:20:49
Celtic apparantly.

2.) 24 Jan 2021 12:56:04
My brother wishes! He doesn't think it feasible because of his wage demands; on £12mil apparently!

3.) 24 Jan 2021 15:07:36
Belfast- Why cause we want a manager that was out performed by Steve Bruce?! No thanks 🤣.

4.) 24 Jan 2021 15:21:42
No, because we couldn't afford him, simple.

5.) 24 Jan 2021 15:37:31
So Celtic can afford him in the SPL whilst signing Champ players but we can't?! That'll be why when Lennon left Celtic he went to Bolton, cause Bolton are renowned for there signing of big money managers?! 🤣.

22 Jan 2021 21:45:09
How bad was that? Embarrassing! M. o. t. m. Ruddy. 1 shot on target that went in. 5 on target for Chorley. No excuses about state of pitch. We were awful, and so negative against a part-time side. Dare say we'll get slated for that performance, or lack of! We need to start being positive and going forward which we didn't here. All side ward and back passing. ugh!

Belfastwolf!

1.) 22 Jan 2021 21:55:18
Awful doesn't really sum it up, inept at best. Chorley came close to embarrassing us. Shocking performance where was the class and urgency I didn't see any! Well I guess take the win and hope for better.

2.) 22 Jan 2021 21:59:43
Got to say I’m bored of Nuno now.
Every manager has a life span and his is up for me now.
Not convinced the players want to play for him now!

3.) 22 Jan 2021 22:08:07
Agree Belfast.
Painful. Too many of our players just took the easy option. Done absolutely nothing for confidence. Embarrassing.

4.) 22 Jan 2021 22:16:48
That was poor. but through I suppose.

5.) 22 Jan 2021 22:19:30
2 plus points. We won and it laid the ghost to the worst result in my time as a Wolves fan. I can still feel the sadness I felt when I was 11 in 1986 listening to the game on the radio.
Multiple negative points which every one else will cover. We so need a No 10 to link the play in the final third. Ray Wilkins was referred to as a crab as he always moved side to side. Moutinho has took over his title now. Disappointed again.

6.) 22 Jan 2021 21:55:42
Awful worst game I have watched for a long time preston away Lambert's first game in charge was on a par with tonight's game, But we won and we're through to 5th round.
Nice goal but that's all there was,

7.) 22 Jan 2021 22:35:11
Wrong, wrong, wrong! Granted, it wasn't great, and I worry about our crap strikers, but it was a job well done on a crap pitch. Comfortable all game, Chorley would never have scored in a million years. Job well done. Pretty? No! But that's how the Cup works. Grind out results against teams you should, realistically, beat easily. Bring on Ars or Soton!

8.) 23 Jan 2021 00:25:07
Totally agree with TattenhallToad, We are through to the next round and that’s all that matters in the FA cup, not at all pretty agreed but this game was a disaster waiting to happen and now its out of the way, a big performance next round will be needed and if so then we are in the last 8 🤞.

9.) 23 Jan 2021 06:44:04
I agree Tettenhall let's all chill out a bit. Ruddy had a decent game but if any of the 3 or 4 saves he made had ended up in the back of the net we all would have slated him.

We were poor no doubt, but we were professional. We kept the ball as best we could on that surface. We all must have seen some of the bobbles! Very difficult to carve defences when your 1st touch you're having to control a ball bouncing up at your knee.

I thought Kilman and Boly were excellent. My only frustration (particularly 1st half) Silva and Cutrone were making good runs and we just wouldn't make the pass.

As you said Rated "results business" we got the result. We can all forget this game now and move on to the next one.

Chorley were excellent and so well organised, fair play to them.

10.) 23 Jan 2021 09:54:52
You called it right Matt,1 goal and a stinker.
But we're in the hat for the next round,
Onwards and upwards.

11.) 23 Jan 2021 10:41:41
Absolutely. It was always going to be tough. Thrilled to get through, on to Chelsea next!

12.) 23 Jan 2021 11:19:04
Another team who aren't playing well and lacking confidence. Expect it to be cagey.

13.) 23 Jan 2021 11:25:57
I'm hoping back on the big stage against Chelsea our players and play will be up to standard.
All anyone can do is believe and hope these type of games (like I said last night Preston away) like last night are few and far between.

So, South Banker, should we ask for special dispensation for our fans to be in mol because it's "hurting us more than most teams"? 🤔.
