According to Sky

'Wolves are close to completing a deal to sign RB Leipzig forward Hwang Hee-Chan.

The South Korea international is set to join on an initial loan with an option to buy for more than £12.8m (€15m) .

Hwang is scheduled to fly into Birmingham tonight and undergo a medical tomorrow morning once the final details have been sorted. '

1.) 28 Aug 2021 13:27:19
Looks good more direct that our portugese continent. Similar to Jota. Gives us another option.

2.) 28 Aug 2021 14:21:03
20 Games last season, 0 goals. can't help but feel Kiefer Moore would have been a better choice.

3.) 28 Aug 2021 14:49:59
He isn't a striker. I'd rather see some more creative forwards brought in to break down teams (we missed that with Jota leaving last season)
Judging Moore on championship games is foolish. Watkins and Toney have pace which is pretty invaluable in the prem. Defenders would mark Moore out of games.
I still think we will get a striker and defender.

4.) 28 Aug 2021 18:56:59
GDawg14
Don’t be a bell. He’s got European experience. Suffered just the same when Haaland left as Adama did when Raul was injured and Jota left us.
This guy is a good option as opposed to Jose and Moore!
If we can get this lad in and even kang lee-in one of the two defenders we’re linked with a potential midfielder we’ll be laughing with the kind of football we’ve been dishing out recently.

5.) 28 Aug 2021 22:07:52
Hwang Hee Chan would be a great signing - gave the Liverpool defence including Van dyke huge problems a couple of seasons ago in champions league, leipzig lost but he was by far the star over the two legs.

6.) 28 Aug 2021 22:24:42
Any wonder players don't want to come when we have so called fans like GDawg?
Anyway apparantly it's a done deal announcement Monday, they are wrapping up the final bits on a CB and CM too apparantly.

7.) 29 Aug 2021 06:30:53
We have a new troll! welcome GDwag.

8.) 29 Aug 2021 10:10:38
Good news if correct!

9.) 29 Aug 2021 11:27:36
Rated RKO that makes sense.
But surprised if they don't bring another striker as cover. We need a goal machine if we had one and he had 10 chances a game we would be easily winning games under Bruno's methods.

10.) 29 Aug 2021 12:32:58
Say what you like about G Dawg but 1 assist and no goals in 20 games for Leipzig, who aren't exactly a struggling team, suggest that Bruno will have work to do to develop his game.

11.) 29 Aug 2021 13:29:03
Stats like that do not make impressive reading, however why has nobody posted the fact that of the 20 games played, he only started 2 of them and was subbed on in the other 18 games. Or the fact that he played a grand total of 447 minutes over the entire season?

12.) 29 Aug 2021 14:42:39
I remember a certain Jiminez having not so good stats before joining us look how that turned out.
So I suggest people stop bashing players before they've even joined it's embarrassing.

13.) 29 Aug 2021 14:48:07
What does 20 games mean? 20 5 minute appearances or 20 full 80+ minute appearances?

14.) 29 Aug 2021 16:09:05
I wouldn’t get too caught up in stats.

15.) 29 Aug 2021 19:28:12
Rated another great post Jimenez had no statistical background and play battered him we hen he joined and look he’s one of the best in the Prem and we missed him last year hand we’re seriously struggling to get a goal with him catching up now.
It is embarrassing but, unfortunately I find it’s a majority of wolves fans these days. Very negative and think for some reason we’re entitled to the big shots in the game.
We all know we’re a big club that’s been beaten down and unattractive for many years now but, over the past 4-5 years we have attracted some really great players but, look at the rubbish we slapped out last year, the awful showing against Sevilla and our football over that past few years has let’s face it been on the decline. Bruno’s attacking style may attract better players again hopefully,
We put in another great shift again today and by far the better side but, we really need to put the ball in the net or as we know get punished at this level! Hopefully we can bring in a few more before the window closes and get that all important first goal then I think all hell will break loose and we’ll be popping 3 or 4 in. Look a lot the forest game once we got one they kept coming afterwards. Just need that breakthrough in the league now.

16.) 30 Aug 2021 20:19:01
Glad to see your post Jas and as always shedding some light on stats/ comments that otherwise appear negative. I’m looking forward to seeing our new arrival play.

29 Jan 2021 23:32:44
Cutrone to Valencia then, even though Nuno virtually insisted only 2/ 3 days ago he was part of the team and in his plans and yet this evening we'll see what happens before Monday.
I can't keep up!

Italia Wolf

1.) 30 Jan 2021 13:30:28
I know I feel sorry for the lad, wish he would persevere with him might still need him for cover.

2.) 30 Jan 2021 13:33:25
Don't know about Valencia unless they have a dodgy recruitment team but Nuno has not stated that Cutrone is part of his plans and it's obvious to everyone, I'd have thought, that he doesn't rate him. He was called back just in case we didn't secure a proper striker in the window. Hopefully we have.

3.) 30 Jan 2021 19:48:57
I think you might have missed the reports and interviews on Monday/ Tuesday Old Wulf because that's exactly what Nuno came out and said.

4.) 01 Feb 2021 15:59:18
Even today Nuno is saying if Cutrone can start scoring, it will help us in the future.
Maybe it will help drive his price up so we can recoup part of the amount paid to AC Milan.

20 Jan 2021 23:49:00
Douglas Costa link has resurfaced again this evening via The Daily Telegraph.
Currently on loan at Bayern from Juve.

Italia Wolf

1.) 21 Jan 2021 10:43:01
That would be a very pricey loan. can't see it.

Then again you can't doubt his quality.

2.) 21 Jan 2021 11:30:27
Fake news according to Fabrizio Romano. Wolves have never made an approach for him. Just paper talk.

3.) 21 Jan 2021 15:21:16
I'm all for the William Jose deal. This will give us the type of threat Jimenez provided and at the same time take the pressure of Silva. Silva was to be brought on gradually, but the injury to Raul changed all that. Silva took his first goal in open play against WBA very well. The raw ability is there. He needs a mentor on the field to learn the tricks from, and William Jose would fit the bill. They both speak Portuguese, so that helps.

4.) 21 Jan 2021 15:32:08
Think he may have called the Diego Costa one fake news not Douglas costa

Might have got you mixed up.

Although Douglas Costa move would be classic paper bait.

5.) 21 Jan 2021 16:40:23
I stand corrected.

6.) 21 Jan 2021 17:38:06
What I did find interesting is that the same paper carrying the Douglas Costa story also suggested that City and Pool were looking at Adama. Not sure I can see it but if he's holding out on contract talks then who knows?! A big sale seems to be the only way we'd afford another attacker especially someone Douglas Costas crazy wages so could be a link in the stories?! Who knows, I thought the Doherty story was nonsense when that first surfaced so I take nothing as a given these days 🤔.

7.) 22 Jan 2021 09:18:44
Bullys.
Can't see there being anything in the Douglas Costa thing, can you?
I did read somewhere that his wage was 100k per week (I know that can't be trusted) but if so, then that's the same as mouthino, apparently. So you never know, stranger things have happened. Seems to be linked with Adama moving to pool or city. Again, can't see that. Not yet anyway. But then if Adama pushes for a move who knows.

8.) 22 Jan 2021 14:58:08
I agree Shares, think it's probs just lazy reporting to be honest. But I suppose the point I was making is that (like you) the only way I see us getting a player like Costa is if we were to sell someone (like Adama) and ploughed the majority of the money into a large contract. Personally I think it would be bad business, luckily I very much doubt there's a shred of truth in any of it 👍.

Renato Sanchez coming in on loan from Lille.
Bruno worked with him at Benfica and Swansea I believe.

Italia Wolf

1.) 30 Aug 2021 22:04:13
Option to buy too mate.

2.) 30 Aug 2021 22:12:05
Must rate him as he has a knee injury.

3.) 30 Aug 2021 22:52:18
Only out until October, give and take the International break he'll prob only miss 2 or 3 games.

4.) 30 Aug 2021 23:36:17
Reckon this is more of a long term view, if he can stay fit and with a few agreed from what I've seen then he's a perfect replacement for Moutinho. If we can get Sanches and a decent cb and keep our best players then we've had a VERY good window! C'mon Sellars lad, make it happen for us! 🐺👍.

5.) 31 Aug 2021 04:50:03
Sanchez fits the bill for me as long as he's not going to be injury prone, I trust our medical guys and can't wait to see him in the old gold if it all comes off.

6.) 31 Aug 2021 06:44:31
Hotting up just going with the flow whoever we get (as I think we will sign someone or even a few today) I will be happy.

FWAW.

7.) 31 Aug 2021 06:47:23
Had a difficult couple of years, but highly rated. Liverpool and Barcelona were monitoring him allegedly, until his current injury.
Seems just what we want in mid-field, an "all-action" player.
If we do bring him in, low risk as a loan, but not able to play for 4-6 weeks after recent surgery.
A Lage choice at last!

8.) 31 Aug 2021 09:41:14
David Ornstein from The Athletic. Sanches deal looks doubtful over terms only rated 50-50. Surprise surprise.

12 Jul 2021 11:30:47
I truly don't think i'm going to watch them again - England
I had the opportunity to go to families last night - all Italian - I turned it down to watch it alone to cheer England

Imagine sat there, hearing those morons boo the Italian national anthem whilst my family are asking 'why? '

Why are they breaking into the ground?
Why are they worse than animals?
Is that why you left England?

Then, someone who is still legally a boy is abused on line for missing a penalty that the manager should have given way more thought to in the first place. A bloke that should know better from bitter experience.

Ashamed
Embarrassed sorry to say.

Italia Wolf

1.) 12 Jul 2021 13:06:28
I'd like to say that I have sat watching England and I've been embarrassed everytime the opposition anthem was booed. The idiots who tried storming Wembley have no conscience or thought for the outcome of ignoring instructions placing others at risk. The actions of some 'look at me ' clowns after Denmark match were disgusting and we'd won! The media condems booing when taking the knee but not the booing of another's nation. Not sporting, not polite and offensive. But these louts go unpunished and think they're big. They're not. But the media won't shame them. Why?

2.) 12 Jul 2021 13:17:14
Love to see those so called fans try this crap next year in the middle East they will get severly punished maybe even lashed and it'll serve them right.
Time this country got tougher with thugs.

31 May 2021 19:31:00
Having read a lot of the posts from the last few days/ week it seems that the default setting for any Wolves fan of a certain vintage is doom and despondency.

True enough we've had it tough, certainly I first started going in '78/ 79. We haven't had much to cheer overall and the previous 3 seasons before C.V. hit were, well, exceptional let's be honest.

I don't particularly like the fact Nuno has gone I think he deserved a break and a pre-season with the idea of fans coming back BUT I also understand why he's gone.
The football was very poor, the mistakes were game after game and a lot of the line-ups baffling.

For me Nuno looked lost in January/ February time. The smile had gone. Arms folded on the touchline, sucking his glove in one game really got to me!
Post match interviews were a chore to listen to, painful.

Rumours are rife that this happened, that was said but only Nuno and Jeff Shi will truly know I guess.
People complaining of price increases but now it's time to put our money where are mouths are - again - to try and get those golden days back once more.

I believe Fosun still want this and they do care, 100%. That said the more bitching and moaning they are exposed to will only suffice to cause problems - for us.
It's a huge time for the club now and we HAVE to move forward.
All together.

We have the nucleus of a great squad and whoever it is Fosun employ to take us forward we have to support them.

Italia Wolf

1.) 31 May 2021 20:21:17
What makes me laugh is all the fickle fans. All last season, it was abundantly clear that we would usually have 1 good 45 minutes per game and so a lot of fans were calling for Nuno to go as he had taken us as far as he could and was unable to implement a different tactic. Now that he's gone, these same fans are despondent and saying that Fosun need to leave as Nuno was a god.

Personally, I think that Fosun have taken stock of everything from missing players, to performances and decided to act. Yes we had a number of players missing and this was always going to have an effect on our performances, just like it did at Liverpool, but I truly believe that Fosun must have grilled Nuno about why some of our performances were so abject (West Ham, Burnley and Baggies) and in others we only performed for either one half or against 10 men. Maybe Fosun thought Nuno could not move us any further forward and decided to act sooner rather than later.

2.) 31 May 2021 20:44:22
I've noticed this as well Jas, half those posters now shouting Fosun out were the very ones shouting Nuno out three months back! You couldn't make it up, sadly we seem to be well into troll season it would seem! 🙄.

3.) 31 May 2021 20:45:08
I think you're completely right Jas M, I've no doubt it wasn't a knee-jerk reaction.

4.) 31 May 2021 22:35:13
So do you think Fosun made the right decision with regards to Nuno then Jas M.

5.) 01 Jun 2021 00:33:14
E, I'm not saying that so don't attempt to misconstrue my words. I'm saying that Nuno and Fosun have had a conversation which we all know and it had resulted in Nuno going. Whether that is because Fosun don't like the way the playing side is going or whether it was Nuno who wanted something, we'll never know. All I know is that I'll always back whoever the manager is and also believe the owners have our best interests at heart.

6.) 01 Jun 2021 07:39:55
Jas M, your comments reflect well the situation.
Clearly things began to unravel between Nuno and Senior Management months ago.
Right or wrong, my view is Fosun wanted Nun's exit to be civilised and orderly, hence all the rumours about Nuno taking other jobs as far back as January.
My concern is not Fosun, but the local senior team. A disastrous transfer window last summer and now the handling of a replacement manager, which is making us look very silly.
If Lage is being appointed, how is it we didn't about the W.

7.) 01 Jun 2021 08:55:21
Jas M - There are a lot of fans who do seem to either always need a scapegoat or have short memories. Casing examples, Kevin Thelwell was criticized during several windows, but now it's seen as a mistake to have let him move on. Nuno was lauded as our saviour then after a bad spell seen as not good enough. I remember the slow start to the 19/ 20 season sat in the stand against Reading in the LC. Someone then said Nuno should go and Benitez should come in. That season we got to a European QF and finished 7th.

And players in recent times like Adama, Coady, Dendonker, Semedo, Saiss, Danny Batth (our championship winning captain and one of our own who wore the shirt with pride) have all felt the wrath of the fans to name but some.

I think we'll have to wait for Nuno to write a book before we found out what happened, but I don't believe it's a decision either Nuno or the board would have made lightly.

8.) 01 Jun 2021 10:45:30
Jas has alluded to the fact that it's not all black and white with Fosun/ Nuno. Clearly results were disappointing even when taking injuries into account. I personally would lay the blame 50/ 50 between Fosun and Nuno. I wonder if Nuno's attitude was fatalistic acceptance of poor results, because Fosun had made the mistakes? Maybe Nuno expected Fosun would take the blame and back him fully in the next window?

9.) 01 Jun 2021 12:58:39
I genuinely think nuno had had enough after the fa cup fiasco. He concentrated on prem survival but got the wrath of practically all supporters. He looked drained and at a loss at the time. Cv injuries poor results with tinkering of line ups didn't work out and I think those knock backs contributed to the mutual parting. The timing however is the interesting bit, Friday before last game, but it did give us chance to show our appreciation and for nuno to thank us. A mutual situation if ever there was.

10.) 01 Jun 2021 13:08:47
Don't forget that even though we finished 7th the season before last, our first-half performances would have seen us relegated.

11.) 01 Jun 2021 21:31:39
I see it this way it started going sour between nuno and fosun when the transfer window shut and someone brought in Jose in and I don't think nuno thought that much about him certainly not good enough to cover (jimenz) so in defiance he decided to use silva that Jeff said (is the best young player for his age) to show Jeff that he is still just a kid and needs a lot of game time to progress and that will probably IMO end in the championship for a season to gain the game time.

30 Jan 2021 19:41:51
Wednesday night I looked at our bench and I felt reassured that it looked quite strong.
Today I saw another 'new' name.
Rewind to the Chelsea home game I saw Otasowie on the bench and - as we all know - he came on second half and had a great game. MoM stuff they said.
His contribution since - the 'false number 9' farce at Burnley and the spooned header at Brighton. Since then he has vanished, as quickly as he appeared.
We've seen Corbeaneu and Shabani sat on the bench, another farce of Sondergaard sat on the bench - a second keeper.
Lonwijk included against Chelsea and today he was there again, along with another new name, Bueno.

Now, I've little idea why these any of these are getting a single minute - Sondergaard excluded - yet Silva is picking up 20/ 30 minutes at a time!
I know why! Jeff Shi insists he does and that is because he was a Fosun signing. Purely financial, pure speculation in the hope he would make it big behind Raul a d come through as the Heir apparent. It's not working/ worked.

I thought Chorley was the PERFECT game for Corbeaneu to get 10/ 15 minutes - a scrappy game on a poor pitch with the ball flying everywhere- u23 stuff and the ideal scene for him.

A bunch of players - Hoever, Vitinha, Otasowie are getting too little time to get into games. In one week out the next four is no good, whilst Moutinho our biggest offender for going sideways and slowing games down, is a constant.

The midfield needs some big changes and soon. Neves is a must but Moutinho needs dropping surely!? Neves needs to be employed further forward just behind Billy Joe. I cannot stand this passing back, side, back.

Injuries permitting we need a more settled side and shape - it's obvious to the fans.

Rui - needs dropping, not a rest. Way too many mistakes. Newcastle, Olbyern header, today to name a few.
Moutinho - see above.
Coady - an England curse? again needs dropping sorry.
The sooner Jonny is back the better for that left back spot.

Too many underperformers and Nuno is adding to that with changing players for no good reason.
Today was meant to be the game after a starting point. It's now the game before a starting point.

We are running out of games Nuno to get ourselves 100% safe and see a quality performance.

The last time I saw one of those was Spurs away almost a YEAR ago.

Italia Wolf

1.) 30 Jan 2021 20:23:55
What do you all think?
If we lose next two games.
Nuno will be sacked
Just can't help, thinking it.
Maybe the £250,000,gift was a leaving gift?!?

2.) 30 Jan 2021 22:31:04
Greyleg - clearly there is a major problem somewhere. We are not only losing but playing terribly as well. Bizarre summer transfers, weird and ever changing selections and tactics and no passion/ response from any one.
Is he the one to blame? Or is he frustrated with those - Jeff Shi? - who are but who are leaving him to carry the can
He has an awful lot of credit in the bank so I expect him to survive - if he wants to (? ) - until the reality hits ( the teams below us start closing the gap) but the pressure is mounting.
Italia - another v good post. If we can't get anyone in and can't get injured players back we don't have a lot of choices particularly in midfield- one of the things that Nuno was complaining about last summer and about which nothing was done - other than playing kids and frankly that not only won't work but also isn't fair on them.
Team now?
Possibly we have to target games we can pick up points from and walk away from others if we don't have the legs to play 17 plus the cup without a squad
Ruddy
Semedo
Boly
Coady
Kilman
Saiss

the latter 3 of these aren't ideal or in form but.

Neves
Dendonker (Owen might be better but its a big big ask - no matter how limited Dendonker is he has many positive attributes we just need to be aware of his talents and limitations and not expect him to do things he can't)

Neto
Jose
Traore

Podence v unlucky to lose out but we can't have 3 behind Jose and the other two are stronger and faster - if less creative/ imaginative. We aren't good enough for Podence this season. But he is a really good player who will be fine next year!
He is also an X factor for when we are chasing games (so he will get a lot of game time! )

19 Jan 2021 18:57:55
Not a rumour - not a quote
Someone in my opinion worthy of group discussion.
If we are to consider British based players, albeit he is Portuguese, Lucas Joao at Reading.
27 years old, 6' 4", 20 goals in 40 for Reading.
Been at Blackburn and Sheff Wed prior.

Not a new poster, just keep having to re-register and change name. Anything with a Scottish prefix was me: Scottish, Ecosse and Caledonian. New username so will try to remember my password from here on in.
Uncanny Italia Wolf: was going to make the same suggestion. Liked him at Sheffield Wednesday and he thrived there when they had Carlos Carvalhal, a fellow Portuguese. 6’ 4” so should have a presence in the box. Only downside is that he is a bit injury prone. Would be a good stop gap and back up option moving forward.

2.) 20 Jan 2021 14:01:51
Welcome back Scot/ Alba/ Jock/ Wolf/ Wolfthistle,
Incredible we had the same thought.
Joao would know the English game too albeit at one level lower.
Still what do fans know about football/ players. 😀.

3.) 20 Jan 2021 15:28:22
It's got to be Origi for me. He knows the league and has everything to play for in trying to get in the Belgium squad for the Euros.

Did I read £20-25mil? Bargain. He's not just a short term solution he can play anywhere across the front line and strengthens our squad going forward.

4.) 20 Jan 2021 20:50:20
Couldn't disagree MattWolf - Origi would be decent enough although we have all heard the news this evening about Willian Jose.
Let's hope the boy can get us some goals.

Because that's what they've decided!

As frustrating as it is that's it, who pays more than they are prepared to for a car or a house?
No one.

Other clubs know Fosun have money so inflate prices artificially.
We just going to have to take it on the chin.

We have to accept there will be rejections, hold-ups, issues with proposed transfers/ loans.
Finances could be close, they could be miles apart.
Players may just not want to come?

It's like buying a house or car, so many factors can influence a deal and it's easy to say 'pay it Jeff' but if it's not within budget it just won't happen.

We said no to Spurs to take Adama on loan, we won't accept less than £50m allegedly - I wouldn't sell him full stop - maybe Lille and the Lille fans think the same about Sanchez?

I do think Coady will be the one that pays the price out of all the CB's.
Kilman has shown he is the player most of us knew he was but Nuno couldn't spot.
Mosquera looked great in pre season.
Boly - we know all about Boly BUT is he picking up injuries?
Saiss offers a threat from corners.
Marçal is another that if he stays fit can also drop in there and do a job.
For me Coady is the weakest of the bunch.

For me Phil yes it was a foul.

No blame really on Mike Dean to be 100% truthful

Where he's standing he can't see the contact and in his mind it could be Neves 'landed badly twisted his ankle' because Neves delayed going down. Simple.

100% blame on VAR!
Absolutely 100% on VAR.

Teams that get relegated DON'T create chances, we do.
Jiminez needs 2/ 3 more games to get back up to speed I think.

My only input would be could the subs have been made sooner maybe?
