I'm happy to say I was wrong. Podence deal done and dusted. Signing autographs at Compton Park this afternoon. And Jordao MOTM v Liverpool u23's tonight. And scored a corker. Like a new signing. Happy dayd!

1.) 30 Jan 2020 02:01:36
Fair dues Tetenall Toad 👍🏿.

2.) 30 Jan 2020 05:30:30
Top bloke TettenhallToad.
I didn't realise you got it wrong but holding your hands up is proper fine of ya. Be good if SQ and others who I do know got things wrong did the same. Yes my fellow wolf happy days

3.) 30 Jan 2020 09:34:01
Is he eligible for the Europa league as he played in the champions league this season?

4.) 30 Jan 2020 09:57:03
I think he is as the rules were changed.

5.) 30 Jan 2020 10:49:17
Well done Tettenhall. Would be nice if some of the usual suspects admitted being wrong as well.

6.) 30 Jan 2020 13:43:27
Respect to you Tettenhall mate.

7.) 30 Jan 2020 19:11:13
Herd that Podence is on his way to stoke for £19m 🤣.

27 Jan 2020 12:51:58
Just as I feared, and posted yesterday, Podence deal is off.

1.) 27 Jan 2020 13:16:47
That is not confirmed from anything I have seen?

Unless you have a concrete source on that.

The deal is still being ironed out. Is all I'm taking from this last 24 hours. Nothing is dead yet.

2.) 27 Jan 2020 13:55:31
No concrete source but you could see how it was going with how Wolves operate. We either sign players completely out of the blue or if a big signing is 'leaked' it gets done and confirmed almost immediately. Nothing that's in the public domain and then drags on and on never gets over the line.

3.) 27 Jan 2020 14:19:15
The Neves and the Troare deals both surfaced weeks before they completed and also both dragged on until virtually the end of the window so not sure that's always the case?!

4.) 27 Jan 2020 14:27:25
Copied from Twitter:
Tim Spiers

I'm told Wolves are hoping to wrap up the permanent signing of Daniel Podence tomorrow. Final details being ironed out and he's been left out of the Olympiakos squad today #WWFC @TheAthleticUK.

5.) 27 Jan 2020 14:45:26
that was yesterday mate, he's updated it in the last half hour, still on apparently.

6.) 27 Jan 2020 14:49:52
That was yesterday. He is not signing today. He is still in Greece!

7.) 27 Jan 2020 15:02:51
How can you just say 'deal is off' without having any source of information? Deal is done, trust me. It will be confirmed this week. Let's just have patience. My source is Tim Spiers and the I work in Compton so I speak to people about these things.

8.) 27 Jan 2020 15:46:24
Regarding Daniel Podence - I'm told the deal is still on. As per the below tweet, contract details are thought to be the hold up

From Spiers an hour ago.

9.) 27 Jan 2020 19:12:04
People have very short memories. We now look back on landmark signings such as Neves, Boly, Patricio, Jimenez etc., and think they were got over the line in no time at all. That's simply not the case. There is no difference with today's prospective signings; they may take time, they may feel frustrating. They may give fake fans the
ammunition to say Fosun have lost interest. Genuine fans understand.

We are light years ahead of that sorry era when our striker signings were Grant Holt, Leon Clarke etc.

10.) 27 Jan 2020 22:17:38
So true Deep, Traore took two windows to get over the line if the club had listened to some on here they would have either just thrown double the wages at him or worst 'moved on to bigger names' either of those choices would have been detrimental to the balance of the current team! that's the frustrating part the signings so far have been fantastic yet people still like to talk about the owners like they don't have a clue what they are doing! COYW.

12 Jan 2020 00:47:32
Trying not to be negative but just look at our bench today. All Championship players. Even Nuno didn't believe in them changing the game. He Would have made changes well before when he did if he had any confidence in them. We are 7th in the league to get things in perspective, but we really do need new quality additions if we are going to maintain that position in what looks like a sub standard league.

1.) 12 Jan 2020 21:15:06
I agree, they needed to change the game yesterday and had no options which could realistically do that. It is just a matter of patience and maybe accepting that the way the window works may result in matches like yesterday where we dropped two points because we couldn't change a game yet. Not sure who we will sign up front but I hope we go for raw speed this time. I think in yesterdays game if we could have bought a young whippet type striker on at the 70th minute, to play off Raul then we probs could have knicked the win.

02 Jan 2020 14:50:28
Campana "in talks" according to Sky. Expected that one. I think Bennett will be gone in this window.

25 Dec 2019 08:35:38
I think there might be something in this Leonardo Campana rumour. Seems to fit the right profile for the sort of young, promising relatively unknown player we target.

1.) 25 Dec 2019 10:08:47
Think your right. rumour also were making several signings in jan.
Do you think with campana and the other striker rumoured. that cutrone will be sold?

2.) 25 Dec 2019 10:25:49
No I think Cutrone will be a top player for us once Nuno has worked his magic. Just need a little patience. Look how he, and the rest of his backroom staff, have transformed Traore.

3.) 25 Dec 2019 16:04:26
Cutrone will be a top player for us once Nuno has had a little more time with him and he settles down.

4.) 25 Dec 2019 16:36:43
Cutrone is out the door. His career and international career has stalled as Nuno screws him around by giving him a couple minutes here and there. Maybe he has agreed to give him X appearances so he won't leave but then decided that 2 minutes is an appearance.
Cutrone won't take that.
Don't mess with Italians or you'll end up swimming with the fishes.

5.) 25 Dec 2019 23:47:10
Cutrone will be a bit part player this season but will be integral to the team next season just like Adama Traore was.

6.) 26 Dec 2019 23:15:03
Apparently he wants to join fiorentina. if so we should let him go. at a profit and if we can get someone better. I suppose we have an idea who to get. we also need centre back . right back. and mud fielder
Anyone agree.

7.) 27 Dec 2019 00:57:11
Winsford, at no point has Cutrone himself said he wants to leave. This is just the media doing what they always do. Fiorentina probably do want a striker and may have mentioned Cutrone but the media have made a bigger deal of it without speaking to anyone in the know. Remember that the same media outlets were adamant that Traore was leaving us after a poor 1st season with us.

8.) 27 Dec 2019 11:00:46
True mate. i'm just reading between the lines. but IF. we are looking for another striker . it would make sense to offload someone.
3-1 tonight. jimenez hatrick.

26 Jan 2020 11:22:34
Hope i'm wrong but Podence is starting to sound like one of those 'deals' that drags on forever, almost gets to the finishing line but then falls apart at last minute, either because terms can't be agreed or the reality of coming to Wolverhampton hits the player!

23 Jan 2020 23:44:54
No critisicm here, he has done a fantastic job for us last couple of seasons but I don't think Doherty will survive the next transfer window.

1.) 24 Jan 2020 07:30:32

2.) 24 Jan 2020 07:31:06
Can't believe he missed that header.

3.) 24 Jan 2020 09:42:21
I agree, he looks jaded and off the pace of the game sometimes, too often caught out of possession.
I also think there second goal doesn't happen if Boly is playing, no challenge from Saiss on Firmino.

4.) 24 Jan 2020 09:54:21
Awful again last night. 2 yards slower than he was last season. Can't get back if he gets up. He's a plodder and definitely not up to the level we want to be at. Problem is he's the first name on the team sheet cus we got no one else. All the talk is about signing forward players when our obvious issues are at the back. We need a couple of quality defenders in. We need to score two goals just to have a chance of a point at the moment.

5.) 24 Jan 2020 11:50:39
After that performance last night it just showed how close we are as we matched Liverpool all the way home and away I'm not going to criticise anyone as they all should be proud.
But just looking on the wolves page and I can't believe some people ripping into jota when he came on for the last 15minutes.
Nuno bought him on because we were on top at the time and Neto had gi en his all so fresh legs was needed.
We all know what jota can do and to say he was useless when he came on and did nothing to help our game it just pisses me off really yes he had a chance right at the end but he missed it all player's have squandered chances throughout the season but we got to remember what a player he is and what he's done for this team.
Give him a break! We lost the game but could have gone either way in both game's.
I thought it was a fantastic performance against the world champions and there's no shame in loosing to them.
So proud to be a wolves fan and to watch this kind of football at our club. Allways wolves🐺🧡🖤.

6.) 24 Jan 2020 14:04:21
Great game, brilliant performance, shame to lose it at the end but it really could have gone either way. Quite a few 'should have scored' moments from both teams.
My thoughts on Doc are that he looks a bit dejected. He used to link up really nicely with Costa and Jimenez down the right but Traore rarely passes to him when he makes the same runs in behind he used to, just prefers to run it in himself. I wander whether he's getting frustrated. I'm not saying ditch Traore by any means but if they could link up better it might help. His defending has been a bit off the mark too recently but its all probably linked to confidence.

19 Jan 2020 16:07:13
I also think Bennett will be gone this month. Nuno has never fancied him.

19 Jan 2020 15:54:16
I think Campana will be the only striker we sign, but he will be fasttracked from the under 23's to the first team squad very quickly. He looks good enough to me and fits the way Wolves do things.

1.) 19 Jan 2020 21:23:17
Tettenhall I think he will be in first team myself, he looks to have the goods from I have seen online, he likes to get forward, and seems to have a few things in his locker, exciting prospect.

30 Dec 2019 10:46:08
Stockley Park 1 Wolves 0.

1.) 30 Dec 2019 16:44:21
More than 1-0 there Tettenhall Toad!

2.) 30 Dec 2019 19:19:01
Nearer 10-0 over the season!

3.) 30 Dec 2019 22:23:50
Wolves and Newcastle the only clubs to not have a VAR decision go in their favour.

4.) 31 Dec 2019 00:08:23
I'm sick to the back teeth of VAR clubs need to lodge an official complaint against the clowns reviewing the videos.

5.) 31 Dec 2019 10:51:03
Why the heck did we even need VAR in the first place? Unpunished cheating divers? Shirt taggers? Or what? I didn't know offsides were such a massive problem. Everyone talking VAR not football. It is such a shame that us Sheffield utd and the Norwich guy are not getting the acclaim we should. Who has had anything positive to say for VAR apart from the instigators. Who benefits apart from TV pundits. I'm so sick of it I can't find the enthusiasm or excitement before matches now.

Excellent thinking Oxymoron. Doubt Mike Riley and co. Will be interested in giving us an explanation though. Us fans who keep the whole industry going with our hard earned cash are ******* nobodies as far as they are concerned!

It's inevitable that we will be losing some of our big players at some point. It's the price of success. I believe, and i've heard it from someone that I trust and is usually correct, that Neves will move in the summer if we don't get European football next season. Mendez has to do his best for his clients as well as us of course and that's his call. Might be wrong here but it sounds plausible to me. Been here longer than Raul or Traore etc who I doubt will move on just yet.

Lets be real. He's gone lads. Like it or not. Personally I don't like it at all but who can blame him if he's getting no game time? I think he will turn out to be a great player and I don't actually think he was unhappy here. This will go down as a mistake by Nuno.
