Wolves are really interested in Aston Villa's Lewis Dobbin. Southampton are also trying to get the player. Both a loan to buy and a permanent move for about 10 mil are on the cards. He played decent on loan at Preston, has pace and scored doubl digits last season.
12 Jul 2026 17:08:37
Why Championship player at best. Sign him 3 or 4 year contract, not good enough. Get in PL and Wolves trying to get rid, no chance. Better options out there and cheaper.
12 Jul 2026 15:17:52
I'm a bit confused on this. Trabzonspor have agreed a loan with option to buy for Tolu. Wolves in reports had stated they wanted the money back or 3 to 4 mill less or nothing would happen. Now reports saying a loan deal but not how much, plus 8 to 10 mill euros on performances and other things.
That means Wolves could sell Tolu for less than 15 mill euros after paying 23 mill. But then again getting 4 mill in wages off the books could be why if they're paying most of it on the loan deal.
12 Jul 2026 17:09:02
Possible that Wolves' thinking is that they want rid of him. Not have another Fabio on their hands, where he's persistently hanging round like a bad smell.
So long as Wolves don't get their pants fully pulled down, get as much as possible and pie him off. He was an atrocious signing.
Whoever scouted/suggested him would be better off running a spud stand.
Wolves aren't the only club guilty of doing this. How much did Chelsea lose on Raheem Sterling? Man City once gave Wayne Bridge a £25 million contract to basically sit at home supping tea.

Wolves are reportedly close to signing Chicago Fire and South Africa centre back Mbekezeli Mbokazi for around £3.5 million.

Wolves have reportedly been clambering signing Wilfred Zaha.
11 Jul 2026 16:53:41
Some reports saying that Wolves have turned down an offer from Fiorentina for Tolu and the player himself has rejected a loan move to Trabzonspor.
11 Jul 2026 10:34:52
Rafiki Said has been confirmed by the club. Thoughts? Does anyone have any more information about him?
11 Jul 2026 11:00:03
At least 8 goals in all of his last 4 seasons. Feels like what we were missing last year - since Cunha left, we haven't had a proper goal threat.
11 Jul 2026 12:47:32
Let's give the player a chance. Even the great Steve Bull wasn't reckoned that much when we signed him from the Baggies.
11 Jul 2026 13:21:38
As I said in a previous post, that is all we can do.
If he turns out to be half as good as Mr Bull, we will all be delighted.
However, it is far from certain you can compare the 2 transfers, as Bull was only 21 and was bought for a bag of beans, whereas this player is 26 and was acquired for a fairly sizeable fee.
11 Jul 2026 17:11:29
Of course, we can't compare the Said transfer to Steve Bull's, but my point really is that you can't judge a book by its cover. We obviously see something in him.
11 Jul 2026 23:24:52
Well, that is axiomatically correct.
Sadly, though, that is also the case for every player ever acquired.
Some of whom will have been brilliant - the aforementioned Mr Bull, some will have been ordinary, and some of whom (and, tragically lately, that some could be replaced with most) will have been abysmal.
His record is modest, but as I have never seen him play, it would be wrong of me to dismiss him.
Consequently, whilst I am not optimistic, I have not said he is a bad signing - yet - but have said that there must be safer ones, i.e.
players who have a better or more relevant track record.
All signings are a gamble, but this one, especially for the price, looks a substantial one.
However, as the new manager is just that new, perhaps he is entitled to a punt; after all, he can't be blamed or held responsible for the shambolic transfer dealings of previous regimes.

Wolves are apparently set to sign Standard Liege winger Rafiki Said for around €10m.
10 Jul 2026 03:11:28
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Finally making more moves.
10 Jul 2026 11:07:37
Said is apparently having a medical today. Looks promising. If no problems, will fly out with the team to start pre-season in Portugal.
10 Jul 2026 11:21:39
Don't know anything about him. Is he any good? Can he make the move from Belgium football to the Championship? We all thought Tolu was going to be a decent player after a good season in Belgium, but he wasn't.
Hopefully Rafiki will prove to be better suited to English football.
10 Jul 2026 13:28:06
Apparently Standard Liege can't believe their luck getting EUR10 m for a player rated EUR5 m at best. Said to be very inconsistent, hope he proves them wrong.
10 Jul 2026 14:04:12
Sadly, this is one that all we can do is take on board the comment so often made on this site - even in the face of overwhelming evidence that it is not deserved - "give him/Fosun/the club/etc etc a chance".
At 26, with no more than an adequate record in a very modest league, it is far from an exciting signing and, as many are saying, looks fully priced at best.
Surely there were far better value options out there, and certainly "safer" ones, but let's hope he outperforms what are pretty low expectations.
10 Jul 2026 14:58:49
If we haven't got players as good as him in the under 21s, why bother with an under 21 league? Reading about him, he seems very average. Got to be others in our lower divisions who can do the job without overpaying.
I know we are just a Championship side now, but surely we have to have some ambition. I fear a long, hard season is ahead.
10 Jul 2026 16:29:18
Last season, 8 goals and 4 assists, and he's got about a 1 in 4 career average, and he plays internationally for somewhere that I confess to never having heard of.
11 Jul 2026 06:44:51
Think of the new teams in World Cup.
11 Jul 2026 11:15:09
Fabio Silva looked better than he has playing anywhere (before or after) when he was at Anderlecht.
09 Jul 2026 20:50:01
Galatasaray are interested in Joao Gomes but want a deal closer to £30m. Wolves are seeking between 40/45m. Everton are also interested in Sam Johnston. One to watch there.
10 Jul 2026 14:06:36
I'm interested in buying a pound coin for 75p - who wouldn't be?
Sadly, as a desperate seller, with a very poor track record of obtaining good prices, clubs will see Wolves as fools who are easy to exploit.
What a mess!
10 Jul 2026 16:59:47
Name players that we got poor deals on?
10 Jul 2026 20:15:50
Just over the last 3 or 4 years.
Major disposals such as Ran (mind blowingly bad!), Neves (less than 40% of top-level CMs), Cunha (one of the top players in the league - try and buy him back for less than £100m!), and Neto (disappointed at Chelsea for reasons discussed previously, but at time sold, see Cunha!).
Plus disposals where the club managed to sell players that had turned, or been turned, into damaged goods such as Emmanuel, Podence, Lemina, Guedes, Boly, Coady, and Raul.
Finally, of course, disasters like Semedo, Sarabia, Saiss and Traore, where they left on free transfers at the end of their contracts.
09 Jul 2026 20:44:36
Rafiki Said Done deal just shy of £8m.
09 Jul 2026 19:20:00
Recent reports claim that Wolves are interested in signing former Sunderland lb Dennis Cirkin on a free deal. The club is in talks with the player's representatives and a deal could go through amid speculation of a Hugo Bueno sale. He will act as back-up to David Moller Wolfe, who is having a good World Cup.
09 Jul 2026 20:11:36
Is that before or after we sign Any of the last rumours you've given that have never come true?!. 😂
09 Jul 2026 20:18:14
Bro, this is not true. Your rumours are very unrealistic, but this is still some good scouting at least.
08 Jul 2026 20:59:24
Trabzonspor interested in Tolu Arokodare. He might leave given how much depth we have in our striking positions.
09 Jul 2026 01:01:16
Depth?
09 Jul 2026 09:36:15
Sarcasm.
09 Jul 2026 10:52:21
No point in keeping Tolu at Wolves if he has no future at the club. There wouldn't be a place for him in the team with King Raul Jimenez. I’m hoping Wolves bring Sasa back into the team. He would complement Raul.
09 Jul 2026 12:24:55
Sasa is not up to it, Ice Wolf. Watched him on his brief appearances in the World Cup, scored a good late equaliser, but was totally ineffective otherwise. Not quick and easily bypassed, Raul, Adam Armstrong and Mane will be well ahead of Sasa, plus any further additions.
09 Jul 2026 19:22:20
Honestly, I prefer Tolu over Sasa any day of the week. If Tolu is ok to play a secondary role, he would be a brilliant super sub. He is physical, and fights for every lost ball.
We saw how brilliant he was in the Liverpool game, even bodying Van Dijk. Imagine what he could do against tired Championship defenders, though he does have to work on his scoring a bit.
09 Jul 2026 22:27:13
I completely agree with Adam.
