Bonatini is no where near good enough . He doesn't put defenders on there back foot which heaps more pressure on the other attackers. He's ok at holding the ball up. and he can score a tap in. we will be aiming towards 20m plus strikers. I think even us fans will be shocked this summer it could be a 100m plus spending spree. or we could carry on with our fantastic scouting either way I can't wait.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 09 Apr 2018 22:54:54
Bonatini before Christmas was top scorer his position play was what made him those tap-ins weren't luck but for some reason he isn't scoring lately hard to know what's changed.

2.) 09 Apr 2018 23:06:57
Think your right on all counts here Weds. I love Leo but he just ain't Prem, I could see him getting a move to Villa or another promo contender next season now he's made a name in the league but he just not natural enough at finishing for the Prem (in my opinion same goes for Benik) .
I also think you are right that we will all be amazed at the names this summer, when you put it into context. I mean even if when Fosun first took over (and we were bringing in Oniague etc) had you told me we would sign Neves on a four year contract next season then I would have still called you crazy!
Other thing here that I think was telling was remember when Villa and the rest had a moan about us anyone remember Jeffs response?! He took the forum to moan about the FFP rules saying (rightly) that all it did was protect the status quo rather than actually encourage 'fair play'. Anyway the point is that's only worth moaning about it you are wanting/ intending to spend BIG! When you consider that most reasonable sized teams going to the Prem and getting it riches could comfortably justify a spend of between £60-80m without having FFP problems these days. so if Jeff's saying that's not enough well like ya say Weds think it could be a fun summer COYW ;)

3.) 10 Apr 2018 10:30:51
Disagree with you about Bonatini, but absolutely agree with you about we might be shocked with who we do sign, shocked in a very good way that is.

4.) 10 Apr 2018 11:53:04
Sorry Rated RKO, but I share Wednesfield Wolf's opinion on Bonatini.
We owe him much for his goals first-half of the season, however, not sure whether he is carrying an injury, or there is something else, but in recent games, he just can't seem to contribute that much.
Personally, if we do go up, I think we will see 2 new quality CFs, probably another Neves in Midfield, plus a GK and as many as 2/ 3 across the Back 3/ 5. We will need 22+ quality players, not just a 1st 11 next season.

5.) 10 Apr 2018 17:40:41
Has Bully lost his marbles?
£30Million in Jamie Vardy at 31 years old!
Ok mate!

6.) 10 Apr 2018 18:07:37
Vardy not Portuguese or even that talented so think bully been on the white wine 😂.

7.) 10 Apr 2018 19:07:08
i feel really sorry for leo he was great first half of season goals and assists / for me he is trying to hard at the moment needs to relax and let it happen as for next season we are going to have to add quality everywhere / signing bolly is a must as is diogo must keep neves after that we need pressure on every position / but as seen with rassmusen we have youngsters that may be able to shine so its all good for me onwards and upwards COYW. (as for all the talk about who we want in 2nd place I for one could not care less / don't mind if its cardiff that would mean the play offs even more difficult with fulham in there but like I say gold and black only colours I care about )

8.) 10 Apr 2018 22:40:02
Leo on another years loan to see if he could do it in the premium?

9.) 10 Apr 2018 22:56:23
Wednesfield wolf everyone is entitled to an opinion but you weren’t saying that Leo wasn’t good enough before Christmas when he was the leagues top scorer? Anyway with due respect Nino knows a bit more than you and I on the subject so if he thinks he’s good enough then he’s good enough, in Nino we trust.

10.) 12 Apr 2018 09:06:06
Dave tcb what a goal the magic man strikes again whatever grealish can do ruben neves can do better.

19 Mar 2018 19:58:23
Let's go for Luke Shaw, in nuno he will be respected. I'm sure he will be a class act with a proper manager. Also what about a cheeky bid for Ramsey it will be appealing to him to play along side the likes of neves.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 19 Mar 2018 20:36:47
Dont think Luke Shaw is the same player after his injury and I think we could get better than Ramsey, not done much for Arsenal,

2.) 19 Mar 2018 22:00:14
Guys I think we might need a bit of a reality check here! Both those players have spent pretty much there entire senior career playing for Champs League level teams (give or take the odd season) . In what realm is Ramsey sat there going 'well I know when I play I am one of Arsenals best players and recently Chelsea have been linked to me. but will someone please tell me about this Champ clubs that's about to be promoted?! '

Don't get me wrong I am sure we will all be surprised by the calibre of the signings but so far the only quality domestic players we have signed have been on a free, with the money spent on Jorges clients. I think we will see the same thing happen again this summer. Great to have ambition but if other fans start to see us saying 'we could do better than Ramsey' on our first season back well for me that's pretty much asking to be set up for a fall! Also its just nonsense, on those rare occasions when he's fully fit Ramsey is by far one of the most technically gifted midfielders in the Prem!

3.) 20 Mar 2018 08:07:36
Well said, BullysBoy. It's alwyas fun to dream, but we fans have a habit of getting carried away at both ends of the happiness spectrum sometimes. I trust those in charge at the moment to deliver the players we need to progress over the next 5-10 years, but I doubt they will be established British players who carry an immense markup simply because of their Britishness.

Saying that. sign 'em up!

4.) 20 Mar 2018 17:27:09
No to either of these!
Shaw I’m not convinced with his injury issues. Plus I think he would leave us open in our current 3-4-3 formation.
Ramsey is a bit hit and miss. Great passer and vision but I think he would be light weight as shown in an arsenal shirt.
There are a few players going on a free this summer.
If we were going for these sort of players I would go for Meyer from schalke. He would cost (salary wise) but at 22 yrs of age he would be good for Neves next to him.
Also Ballotelli is available. I know what your going to say he’s a bigger name which is true however for his off field antics. I think he could make a strong partnership with Nuno and he would like our style of play. Also he has a lot to prove and I think champions league clubs wouldn’t take a risk on him.

5.) 20 Mar 2018 18:35:26
Nice idea with Meyer Anew although I do fear that again if he is running down his contract he will be looking for a bigger club (Arsenal and Bayern were tied last window) . As for Balotelli even if he wasn't a liability his goal record in the Prem is truly shocking so again not overly fussed there, especially for the crazy wages he will be wanting!

I suppose that was my point guys, we have had the luxury this season of being a big fish again, I seriously doubt that will be the case next season. Which is why I fully expect more left field arrivals from the continent. I don't know about most on here but I know I had never heard of Costa, Saiss or even Boly before we signed um but in terms of value for investment well they've been pretty good value haven't they! COYW;)

6.) 20 Mar 2018 19:39:10
You cannot be serious, Anew dawn?
Balotelli? He is dreadful. A spoilt, selfish brat. Against PSG at the weekend. Corners terrible, free kicks clearing the stand, easily brushed off the ball, sulking. Never wants to pass. Even Nice fans were booing him.

I'd sooner have Akinfenwa!

7.) 20 Mar 2018 22:29:25
Wolf- LOVING the Akinfenwa reference, that guy was a quality player

for a body builder! ;)

8.) 21 Mar 2018 14:17:05
Looking at summer targets.

Ryan Fredericks (Fulham) is out of contract and would be great competition for Doc

From the Championship who would you like to take with us to the Prem?

Some ideas - Cainery, Sessegnon, Morrison.

9.) 21 Mar 2018 17:15:30
Not many 1877 in my opinion.

Players that have stood out for me are:-
Sessegnon
Cairney- although he hasn’t been consistent and I still have questions over him.
Brereton- forest 18 years of age did our back 3
Zahore
That’s all I can think of from an age and consistency point of view.

10.) 21 Mar 2018 17:18:20
Leon Clarke . 😂😂😂.

11.) 21 Mar 2018 21:05:34
Not Clarke even third time lucky won't be enough to convince me he's consistent just a good streak in the first half of the season

Quality players we have seen against us this season are Sessignon Mitrovic Carney all Fulham Grabban maybe Grealish and Adomah at Villa Forestieri early on but probably no longer, the Boro defender I can't remember, probably a Cardiff player but they don't stay in my mind I also like Ikechi Anya for his occasional game changing inspiration but he doesn't do it often enough to play in the premier.

12.) 21 Mar 2018 21:37:17
Some interesting names be banded about here, all hypothetical so why the devil not. I know I keep banging the same drum but all I would say is that as most players listed are domestic based players then I just can't see Fosun paying the extra 'domestic mark up'.

Take Sessignon I mean the lad is class and going to be a great player but because of that he has been tied as Luke Shaws replacement in a £30+m move to United! Now weather that happens or not Fulham won't be selling him for less than £20+m so why then would fosun want to pay that for an young English lad that's untried in the Prem?! Especially when they can get another recommendation off Uncle Jorge and sign someone for a tenth of the price. Look at Douglas came in at around £1m now as great as Sessignons potential is who is having the better season, either way Barry is certainly not a tenth of the quality now is he.

Thing that I think peeps have to remember here is that first and foremost Fosun are an investment company and any adviser (cough Jorge cough) would tell you pretty quick that if you want value for money you have to either be VERY creative domestically or you need to shop abroad! So far they have chosen the later option and so far its turned out alright!

PS- Window- that Boro defender is Gibson and a VERY tidy player, would LOVE us to get him but again with 'English player premium' I think its unlikely.

13.) 22 Mar 2018 01:16:40
well, with the masterclass Nuno has pulled off in converting Coady to a rounded, influential sweeper, we could well fill a whole host of positions with squad members.
So, there's another question.
Who could be converted Coady-style to other positions in the team?
Interesting!

{Ed001's Note - how is it a masterclass in converting Coady? In Liverpool's youth teams he played there anyway. He played defence and midfield, but more often defence.}

09 Mar 2018 22:00:18
Can't wait for the villa . hope he starts Afobe but don't think he will something tells me it wasn't his choice to sign him
But when we score we need celebrate like we've won the premier league come on me babbies.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 10 Mar 2018 11:04:48
Old Potato head won't like that. If I were Nuno, I'd get the players to surround Bruce like the Arsenal players did against Man Utd years ago when Van Nistelrooy missed a penalty.

07 Mar 2018 22:25:42
Leeds owner takes swipe about our very wealthy owners and our contacts ie. mendes blah blah blah. we've waited a long time to have a look in. now we're amongst to country s big spenders we will rub all your noses in it. i'm sure Leeds had a spending spree couple of season ago. qpr Newcastle. forest. the only difference is they wasted it on dead beats. we havnt. buisness is business and we win. 😅😅.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 07 Mar 2018 23:11:49
Weds- So true, they also change there manager every five minutes they've probs got a new one by now! What really annoys me is that teams have been spending there way out of this league for the last decade (since FFP rules arrived in fact) but its ONLY cause we are smashing it that peeps are clutching at straws to complain! Besides won't affect us, worse case they will make a rule (crucially) as from next year that no owners can have affiliations with agents. It won't achieve anything but when a team walks the league because its SO unusual in the Champ the EFL often feels the need to act. Remember when Watford walked it, following season they changed the loan rules and it'll be similar again. Like the Watfords change it won't actually make any difference to anyone but still as long as they can pretend to be a progressive league then that's all they seem to care about!

2.) 08 Mar 2018 01:11:20
Very strange no one complained last season when we finished 15th. Other than our league position and a new manager I'm not aware of any other changes, still being run by Fosun who have a healthy working relationship with Uncle George.

Radrizzani's comments have even embarrassed Leeds United supporters. Its just another name to add to the list alongside Colin, Bruce and others

Lets just get 3 points Saturday against the Vile and with 7 of our last 11 games being against the bottom 8 clubs we should be able to escape the sour grapes prevailing in the championship this season.

3.) 08 Mar 2018 08:59:03
Who will be the CMs against Villa?

4.) 08 Mar 2018 11:47:44
Got to be Neves and N'Diaye, although Saiss played well last night.

5.) 08 Mar 2018 14:52:29
Neves and N'Daiye for me. Nothing against Saiss but we do better when we attack rather than act with caution.

Downside is that without Saiss the defence will be more exposed and we might not get the best out of the wing backs.

07 Mar 2018 21:50:13
Brilliant performance. neves back for villa. nuno please start Afobe against villa he will now be pumped up after the goal. he makes runs chases down and doesn't just stand in the middle waiting. come on me babbies.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 07 Mar 2018 22:14:47
No idea what you was watching but Bonatini worked hard tonight he was just lacking a goal he certainly wasn't just standing around.
However I do agree that Afobe should start Saturday as he will be pumped up after that cracking goal.

2.) 07 Mar 2018 22:48:59
Didn't mention bonatini mate but considering you have I will. We're at a stage of the season where its too tense to be waiting on bonatini to come good. he is absolutely shocking. heavy first touch. doesn't shoot fast enough. looks lost. even jota had the chance to feed him in and opted not. even the commentary stated Afobe is doing something that bonatini doesn't which is run. nice guys don't win you games.

3.) 07 Mar 2018 23:17:42
Have to agree with Rated here, Leo did pretty much everything tonight BUT score! Also agreed that Benik should start the next one, all about confidence for strikers and that shows in both of them right now!

4.) 08 Mar 2018 12:33:29
Bonatini looked very slow last night in everything he did. I was surprised Nuno waited so long to replace him. It took Afobe only 3 minutes to get a shot on target, which happened to be a goal. It is painfully obvious that Bonatini is not our answer for the final games. Bonatini was superb in the first third of the season, but he has run out of steam and confidence and just looks lost standing and waiting for the ball. He is not helped by the excellent movement from Jota and Cavaleiro who make him look like he is running in treacle. Had we started with Afobe or Costa instead, I think the scoreline would have been much more.

5.) 08 Mar 2018 14:58:44
Bonatini's best moves and goals come from his position play. He picks up rebounds and passes from difficult angles. Recent games haven't much been like that (except last night) . Cav has made better use of the ball and has been passing well with Jota and Costa. Neves too. Interesting that we wanted an out and out striker at the start of the season but our recent success has been the form of our number 10s.

Benik would be a more natural fit with the style of Jota and Cav just now, but only just. But let's not get carried away. He's only scored one to Leo's none in recent games.

6.) 08 Mar 2018 15:46:45
Well done to Afobe, but I thought Leo had his best game for along time, difficult decision for Nuno on Saturday.

7.) 08 Mar 2018 17:05:08
i thought leo had a great game linking up play chasing down defenders only thing missing was a goal there is no way nuno will start afobe on saturday he is still struggling for match fitness a well taken goal last night will not guarantee a start for him!

Is Afobe injured or ill. no desire to run. into channels. no effort he let his team mates down. the same said by others in the north bank. he's been sat on the bench all season he should be full of life. a lot of fans was right about him on here. me not being one of them.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 11 Apr 2018 23:31:27
We win 2-0 against a top 6 side, we are as good as in the promised land, we have witnessed the goal of the season and probably as good a goal as we have Seen for years, we are playing football beyond our dreams but still all some people want to do is moan about one of our players, give it a rest will you and just enjoy.

2.) 12 Apr 2018 00:20:39
Weds- Fair play Weds, I was one of the ones saying don't sign but even I have to admit that was mostly because I thought he wouldn't be up to the Prem turns out he seems hardly up for the Champ anymore! And your spot on here its not even his ability at this stage its his complete lack of effort/ work (which surprises even me) . Classic example was early in the second half tonight when Jota headed it on to break into an empty half, he ran it down the wing looked up to see Benik lazily WALKING towards the area! He should have been busting a lung to get to the penalty spot and make an option if he's serious about proving himself but he just looks like he can't be bothered! I do wonder if he's already realised that he's not staying but either way its no excuse, a shame cause even if he wasn't my cup of tea never wanted to see him look SO average! Oh well, thank goodness the best player in the team is OURS! Rueben Neves take a bow sir! COYW ;)

3.) 12 Apr 2018 01:53:47
Wolf- whos' moaning?! Simply assessing a players performance and its been generally disappointing is all we are saying! If it was Miranda we were discussing then peeps would have no problem piling in but heaven forbid someone should say Benik ain't pulling his weight! Fact is with this team in this league he should be scoring for fun and if he isn't then I don't see the harm in discussing that. Doesn't mean we're not enjoying the ride same as everyone else! ;)

4.) 12 Apr 2018 05:45:37
Completely agree about Afobe. I wasn't keen on him coming back then thought OK he might have changed, but no he's lazy and his apathetic attitude is highlighted even more by our superb team of grafters and skill. He's not a team player. He dos'nt appear to like being down the list in adoration. Get rid.

5.) 12 Apr 2018 13:33:41
Wolf64 don't agree with your post.

11 Apr 2018 22:38:29
Remember Alex raes volley against Bolton. neves beats it. and I was there what a player. and we will keep him. money is no object.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 11 Apr 2018 22:56:19
Ah come on, looked to me like it took a slight touch off Harry Kane's shoulder on the way in, no way Neves can claim that one!

10 Apr 2018 14:40:02
Read Gary rowetts comments on our recruitment. His words every team has the opportunity to build contacts for players. also praising nuno for they way he's managed these players. positive.

Something that is bugging me is that pundits other managers . Can't say were a good team without mentioning the money we have spent. ruddy free transfer Bennett free transfer coady 2m Bolly loan Doherty 150.000 Douglas 700.000 sais 3m neves 15m jota loan cav 7m ofobe loan . this is a team built over 2 seasons.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 09 Apr 2018 09:38:52
Don't let it bother you, the so called pundits have been proved wrong! They said Nuno didn't know the league so would struggle, also said our foreign contingent weren't up for cold winter nights. How wrong they were! The cream willl always rise to the top 👍.

2.) 09 Apr 2018 10:35:08
Yes we have a handful of big transfers, but so does Villa. It's mostly young guys plucked from the reserves of bigger teams. Just means we have scouted better than the others and our manager knows what he is doing.

3.) 09 Apr 2018 11:51:00
The important thing is Nuno has done something NONE of the other managers have achieved that is mould all the squad into a winning mentality and playing football at the same time.
Its the moulding of the players into a winning mentality that is the key, Fulham are about the nearest to it no one else regardless of what has been spent.

4.) 10 Apr 2018 10:57:14
It's alright buying expensive players but the team have to work together and tht normally takes a season or at least half so nuno has done an amazing job and his staff👍👍👍.

08 Apr 2018 09:01:28
Don't like villa. but the more Midlands teams in the premier the better meaning more derby days . why wouldn't you want that. you need to put your banter to one side. were still having the last laugh by winning the league.

Wednesfield wolf

1.) 08 Apr 2018 10:06:43
no way let them be like us for years in fizzy pop and let's see if they got fans like ares .9k away in div 1.lets see.

2.) 08 Apr 2018 10:35:48
I agree Wednesfield, the more midland teams in the Premier the better. The Midlands has been under represented for to long, it would be nice if a Midlands Derby could capture the imagination the same way as the Liverpool or Manchester derbies.

3.) 08 Apr 2018 10:38:58
I'm with u Dappa, after comments made by their owner chief exec and manager let them rot in the championship! There will be enough big games in Prem without a poxy one with villa! Hope Cardiff fail as well with that tosser Warnock.

4.) 08 Apr 2018 10:47:44
I am a bit like you Wednesfield. If (when) Baggies and Stoke go down and when we go up the nearest team, and the only other from across the Midlands will be Leicester. The other teams all in the North and South, plus Swansea. A lot of travelling.

5.) 08 Apr 2018 15:15:15
Sod villa only bothered what we do nobody else.

6.) 08 Apr 2018 17:00:34
Can see both sides to this . The more midland clubs in the prem the better so good point wednesfield , put the midlands on the map with the derbies . But on the other hand I would be more than happy to see them all rot in the championship-league one after there disparaging hate filled remarks about our club just because we have had a great season .

Question . All the championship managers had to vote for manager of the season, so if you were voting who would you vote for? You can’t vote for Nuno . My vote goes to Niel Warnock . sorry i mean Neil Harris . 😂.
