If we are looking for a striker to bring in on loan we could go for Oumar Niasse from Everton. Plenty of pace and power and knows how to finish. Doesn't look to have a future there and could do a really good job for us. Could be just the type of player we need.

I like that idea did ok for Hull in the prem last season.

2.) 03 Aug 2017 12:15:20
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum.
I think a player returning does not go well second time around. Adobe had his shot and left, we were disappointed yet that was his choice. I think baggage and regret could hamper his performance, after all, he did not progress at Bournemouth.

Everyone wants the 20 goal a season striker, they are not everywhere. We have some real talent coming through, could it be that Finally, this manager and staff, will get the best out of our young talent, especially working along side the star players we have.
I feel this year is going to be special.

I only started going on about Afobe when apparently, we wouldn't pay more than £10m for him but were willing to pay £20m for Andre Gray. I've not been banging on at all that Fosun should spend big money on a striker, though it would make sense, and if they are going to, Afobe makes sense, it's not a risk as although he might not make them money if it didn't work, he couldn't lose them much, even if he dropped in value, there's only maybe at most £5m at stake, to make the most of the rest of the team and for a realistic shot at the Prem. That's all it was, a reaction to £20m for Gray.

4.) 03 Aug 2017 14:48:28
I thought koeman wanted niaase as part of his squad this season?

5.) 03 Aug 2017 18:08:45
We could have done with Neymar!

Fosun can afford him with petty cash change.

But the fair play rules would have been blown

😂.

Ulf mate, I really wouldn’t get so caught up with figures thrown about for players in papers £15m- Afobe, £20m- Gray etc. Its all just numbers plucked out of the sky by journos looking for a headline and with the money we’ve spent this year we are an easy headline! Quite honestly (previous Afobe debate aside;)

I genuinely don’t believe we have made so much as an approach for either player think it’s all just paper talk! Look at our transfer policy with almost EVERY transfer coming from abroad, in fact the ONLY people we’ve bought in from this country have been freebies. I reckon that’ll be because Mendes will be telling Jeff that the best value for money is on the continent.

When you look at some of the prices quoted/ paid for some national players it wouldn’t be far wrong either. Apparently Newc are considering £10m for Ojo…. not sure I’d pay a £10 taxi fare from what we saw on the lad! ;)

Anyone else think Tom Lawrence from Leicester would do a good job for us. Did well at Ipswich last season.

1.) 28 Jul 2017 19:09:02
Ok guys who's going to be Captain mmmmm? It won't be Batth!

2.) 28 Jul 2017 19:31:09
Miranda or Neves.

3.) 28 Jul 2017 19:33:54
Neves or Miranda for me.
But got a feeling Nuno will give Neves the armband.

4.) 28 Jul 2017 19:37:24
Tom Lawrence whose gone to derby you mean?

5.) 28 Jul 2017 19:50:06
According to Tim Nash, Danny Batth is captain.

6.) 28 Jul 2017 19:55:14
It will be batth trust me he'd of changed by now if he's wanna going to sorry guys and Edwards will vice captain pretty clear through out pre-season as if anyone else was going to get it he'd of give them through pre-season and like I say changed you clutching a straws on this sorry.

7.) 28 Jul 2017 20:05:43
I don't understand why being "captain" matters at all. Its just silly and means nothing. The coach is in charge. Everyone on pitch should be having their say. Works in my work place!

8.) 28 Jul 2017 20:10:25
He can be club captain as a player or non player, but he won't be a regular in the line up so Wolves will need a match day captain.

9.) 28 Jul 2017 20:11:15
No I mean Tom Lawrence who Derby are interested in but is still at Leicester.

10.) 28 Jul 2017 20:14:20
Boly or neves for me. will we sign two more players tomorrow? Should be 2 strikers really. you think.

11.) 28 Jul 2017 20:22:34
If you have a captain like Mike Bailey it means a lot but just to appoint someone who is really just a figurehead not a lot.

12.) 28 Jul 2017 20:39:57
Guys it won't be Batth we've bought a new defence I wonder why?
One of the worst defensive records last season!
Neves or Coady!

13.) 28 Jul 2017 20:49:29
Your right sorry
My bad! Yes I'd definitely have him.

14.) 28 Jul 2017 20:50:52
Any game that Batth starts, he will be captain.

15.) 28 Jul 2017 20:54:11
Its amazing that anyone thinks who the captain is matters! Get a grip guys!

16.) 28 Jul 2017 20:58:26
If Batth and Edwards are regular starters we WILL NOT make top 6.

17.) 28 Jul 2017 21:28:09
Bid willy.

18.) 28 Jul 2017 21:31:27
Of course it matters who the captain is. it is no good Connor ronan being it.

19.) 28 Jul 2017 21:46:45
Here's an idea. Let's not speculate but just wait until Nuno announces his team.

20.) 28 Jul 2017 21:50:18
In what way does it matter? If you can explain I will hapilly apolgise. and I will ignore the ejut comment. Basically because I don't understand it.

21.) 28 Jul 2017 22:13:53
Well thanks for the insult mate, (im presuming "ejut" is an insult but I really struggled with your grammar) and the Conar Ronan thing just really confused me. I don't pretend to know much about it but I really think if you are all working together, you all shout together. One person taking control can be counter productive, and if youve got, for example, a central defender as "captain" what good is that when you are on the attack? . Five or ten years from now people will laugh at the very concept of "captains". I will apologise if I turn out to be an " ejut"!

22.) 28 Jul 2017 22:28:31
Thanks for the insults Dud.

23.) 28 Jul 2017 21:18:49
Coady.

24.) 29 Jul 2017 09:24:54
I agree with Tettenhall Toad. Who the captain is is pretty irrelevant. It's not like cricket where a captain is in charge of the on field tactics. A football captain is there to choose heads or tails and be the one to be talked to by the ref.

I've always thought the debate about who should be England captain was page filler for the newspapers. A simple solution would be to make whoever has the most appearances captain. The leaders on pitch will still have their say whoever is captain.

25.) 29 Jul 2017 10:35:58
Think it is important to have a leader on the pitch and makes sense that he is the captain. Coadjutor certainly likes to organise and if playing centre back is well placed to do so. Just a quick riposte re Connor Ronan, pretty certain he was captain of U21 team last year!

Not sure sending Graham out on loan is a good idea. Good player, gets plenty of assists. Think it would be better to give him game time here rather than have him playing for a rival.
