Vietto deal def 100% happening IF Athletico secure costa deal ready for him to play in Jan. they will then sell Vietto to us for £9.5m.

No idea when its announced. this is all the info i have.

1.) 31 Aug 2017 08:59:43
Winston, there's more exclusion clauses in your post above then in my home insurance policy! You said the other day the deal was done and would be announced yesterday!

30 Aug 2017 16:48:59
You heard it here first we are signing Luciano Vietto from Aletico Madrid. Medical done today. Announced tomorrow.

1.) 30 Aug 2017 17:05:38
Winstonwolf you better be right!
Vietto would clean up in this league. If it is true and Mendes had something to do with it then he should get he (mendes) should get the key to the city.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 17:07:57
how do you know this, amazing if true.

3.) 30 Aug 2017 17:15:30
Yep how do you know this mate hope your right.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 17:16:49
From Mercato (Google Translation) -
Olympique de Marseille has fresh competition for Vincent Aboubakar. If OM club multiply (Aboubakar, Mitroglou, Dembélé) tracks, it is also the case of the Cameroonian who has a new key. According to our information, the FC Porto was approached today by Wolverhampton, driven by Nuno Espirito Santo, the previous coach of the Dragões. Nuno had not used Abubakar last season, because he had been loaned to Besiktas Istanbul.

5.) 30 Aug 2017 17:19:22
Loan or buying?

6.) 30 Aug 2017 17:25:49
Any substance to this rumour or are you trying to out do Paul Daniels.

7.) 30 Aug 2017 17:41:09
Not that prolific a striker.

8.) 30 Aug 2017 17:47:04
Winston guessing again last couple of weeks he has said soares, julan and oliveria were done deals! He got this from another forum from a bloke who just mentioned his name as a decent player he would like us to sign!

9.) 30 Aug 2017 17:49:46
So just to be clear then the striker we are bringing in is

Maybe we'll sign the lot of them - well ok maybe not Uncle Tom Cobley (his goals to games ratio is shocking) - and confound everyone by playing with an entire team of strikers?

{Ed047's Note - Haha quality Das, from that list id say Gayle, Rhodes are most likely Soares & Marega a distinct possibility. Who do you want}.

Luciano Vietto
Luciano Darío Vietto is an Argentine professional footballer who plays for English club Wolves as a striker. Wikipedia
Born: 5 December 1993 (age 23), Balnearia
Height: 1.73 m
Weight: 68 kg
Current team: Atlético Madrid (Forward)

11.) 30 Aug 2017 18:05:39
Luciano Vietti from Aletico Madrid wolves have signed him its says on wilki. wolves aye we.

{Ed047's Note - Luciano Vietto is a good player i would be happy if Wolves got him}.

12.) 30 Aug 2017 18:08:37
Aboubakar would be my number 1 followed by Soares. Don't see Gayle as much of an upgrade on Dicko and Rhodes was good about 4 years ago but not so now.

By the way forgot Julan from my list!

{Ed047's Note - Gayle will score goals and that will help get promotion. Not seen much of the other 2 but few on here seem to think Luciano Vietto could be incoming which would be very interesting i like him and would be happy if he joined}.

13.) 30 Aug 2017 18:13:25
Saying we are back in for Hugill now as everyone is driving up the prices. Really hope Mendes works his magic or we will be lacking up front yet again. Need to get colback over the line too.

14.) 30 Aug 2017 18:18:10
Wikipedia anyone can change the data on there!

15.) 30 Aug 2017 18:44:17
You forgot Talisca and
Frimpong on your list.

16.) 30 Aug 2017 18:57:04
Vietto seems too unrealistic but then so did Jota Neves and Boly.

17.) 30 Aug 2017 20:13:05
Assombalonga and Andre gray too.

18.) 30 Aug 2017 20:14:01
Missed of list.

19.) 30 Aug 2017 20:45:49
I'm struggling to understand why this would be amazing. Scored 1 in 4 in his career. Just because someone plays for Athletico Madrid, doesn't instantly make them a top player. And he's only scored 7 goals in 40 games since 2015.

{Ed047's Note - Total different kettle of fish playing for Madrid compared to Wolves, if and its a big if he comes than id be very confident he will score goals thats will help gain promotion, Vietto is a quality young player that under the right system will thrive}.

20.) 30 Aug 2017 21:18:47
Vietto would be a top signing

Don't see it happening but who knows anymore.

21.) 30 Aug 2017 21:45:53
I have to say I'm in Johns corner on this one regarding Vietto. His record when it comes to actual goals is pretty ordinary at best for a out and out striker, which i assume he is, and if he isn't an out and out striker why would we sign him, we have enough attacking minded options. Why sign a one goal every 4 matches type of striker? Makes no sense to me.

{Ed047's Note - He is not what i would call a true No.9 he is more a No.10 very creative and mobile, he will most likely stay at Madrid until Jan when Costa signs as under a transfer ban}.

19 Aug 2017 23:51:45
Mendes at the game today, i believe he was here to sort the Soares transfer which may well be a loan deal. Also at Molineux the agent of Nathael Julan. sitting near Mendes. I expect both transfers to go through before deadline day. Julan first.

1.) 20 Aug 2017 08:07:31
Sounds good to mw.

2.) 20 Aug 2017 09:00:11
Be good havin two more strikers in but unless we control the midfield the wing backs are less effective creatin fewer chances for our strikers as the Cardiff game showed.

3.) 20 Aug 2017 10:44:51
Yesterday showed a few things. I respect Mendes for saying go for it with the wing backs and the plan was to pin the two attacking wingers back. This didn't work out for a few reasons. Firstly bonatini was knackered he did a good job in the goal and he showed good touches but he didn't do what zahore did on more occassions which was hold the ball up, turn and run and our back three. He made coady and Miranda look average. As we couldn't hold the ball up this meant we were over run in midfield. Saiss and neves did well in hard circumstances. And Cardiff should of had a man sent of. The fact santo has come out and said that after the game wins more respect from me and he's not been polite and states facts. I also thought the tackle on neves was a red card in the first half when the Cardiff player went in two footed. Those decisions change game and not to have one of them is very disappointing. Wolves do need protection especially from that sort of anti football tactics. A big striker similar to zahore is needed. I'm not sure out of the ones linked would do that job.

4.) 20 Aug 2017 11:11:19

5.) 20 Aug 2017 11:37:59
As I said on here 2 weeks ago Tiquinho Soares is all but done and dusted. Not sure about the Julan rumours. Two for sure would be good. Looks likely Mason will be sold and Zyro loaned out.

6.) 20 Aug 2017 12:35:12
Soares is going to Fulham.

7.) 20 Aug 2017 12:46:03
Different Soares I think WOLF?

8.) 20 Aug 2017 14:22:39
Fulham = defender Rafa Soares

Wolves = striker Tiquinho Soares.

9.) 20 Aug 2017 15:32:32
I've been supporting wol since the 1950s there was hard tough tackling players Norman hunter Peter storey Bobby stiles etc they all played a fare game yesterday warnock told his players to knock the crap out of our players so to win at all costs Cardiff did deserve there win but they should have had two players sent off at least football is to b played with the ball passing throwings scoring team game but if a teams want to kick other players off the park then they should invent a game with no football just kick each other out of the game I'm probably being old fashioned.

10.) 20 Aug 2017 16:17:35
Essexwolf - you're not being old fashioned. Cardiff were disgraceful. In the first half I couldn't believe what they were doing - the ball was in our half and yet 50 yards away our three forwards were being pushed, jostled, held and kicked. I thought 'ankle tapping' went out along with flared trousers but apparently not.

I likened it to bring viciously mugged by the school bully whilst the teacher held his coat and looked the other way.

The referee was truly abysmal and clearly has absolutely no understanding of football given how he fell for every bit of play acting and time wasting whilst missing every elbow.

11.) 20 Aug 2017 16:39:48
Don't no what anybody else thinks but I think we need another midfielder look at yesterday playing against a bit powerful side like Cardiff nearly every player over 6ft and we bring Conner Ronan on.

12.) 20 Aug 2017 17:17:48
Bewdley wolf - someone like Prince Oniangue perhaps? Still there as far as I know but frozen out. Thought he looked good at start of last season before Lambert ditched him for being 'foreign'. Big, strong, powerful and a good footballer.

13.) 20 Aug 2017 17:28:57
I'm with you DAS Prince could do a job, may not be the smooth footballer type but could mix it and become the enforcer.

14.) 20 Aug 2017 18:41:56
Has well as a striker we need another midfielder if Neves gets injured we have nothing the bench needs strengthening.

15.) 20 Aug 2017 18:47:09
I agree DAS I think prince is better than what we have on our bench at the moment. I'm not saying Conner or price am bad players just need a bit more steel as back up you need it in this league proved it yesterday.

16.) 20 Aug 2017 18:50:31
Has Joe ledley found a club yet I think he could be the answer.

17.) 20 Aug 2017 19:09:59
On transfermarkt it says that Soares recovered from a thigh injury 4 days ago but he is not in their team today. Are they not risking him or are we actually in talks to sign him soon?

18.) 20 Aug 2017 19:11:15
To nunos credit he's got he's formation and system and signed players that want to play entertaining football understandedbly he wants to keep that and doesn't want stoop down to that level of tactics from warlock that's a good name for him.

19.) 20 Aug 2017 20:50:43
Prince wasn't ditched for being foreign, he was ditched because he's crap. Nuno clearly agrees too.

20.) 20 Aug 2017 21:29:44
According to the Beeb, Conte wants to sign Soares.

21.) 20 Aug 2017 21:31:53
Mendes don't pick the team?

22.) 20 Aug 2017 21:48:15
Jonzy54 - each to their own opinion of course. For me Oniangue is not crap, far from it. He was doing pretty well under Zenga. Lambert was appointed and he never played again. Lambert preferred the likes of Saville for reasons I will never understand though he did make reference to the fact that we had too many foreign players. Oniangue is big, powerful, strong, can score goals and is quick. In my opinion he is far better than the likes of Price or Edwards and could be, along with Ronan, adequate cover for Saiss and Neves.

23.) 20 Aug 2017 22:36:09
If prince is crap jonzy54 what's Dave Edwards.

24.) 20 Aug 2017 23:19:28
I did correct Dappa.
It was interesting I think at 1-1 we should have took the point but we opened up even more and lost our shape which was disappointing. As a wolves fan watching the dross of the last 5 seasons I respect Nuno for going for the win. But I hope he and the squad have learnt it's not going to be a push over season.

In terms of recruits it's hard players would rather sit on the bench in the prem for 30k more than play a limited number of games in the championship as our first 11 is pretty strong. We do also have Costa and Marshall to come back. I thought neves did fine with the physicality of the match.

But the wing backs were found out and that was because three were played in the middle by Cardiff meaning they could be doubled up on as the two attacking wingers did there defensive duties excellently. Wolves need a plan b. If this happens again maybe 4-5-1 and drop coady into midfield like a matic type of player. Or at 1-1 we give them possession then hit teams on the counter. But a striker is needed to hold the ball up to do that bonatini and dicko can't do it with enough guile.

09 Aug 2017 14:15:20
Nelson Oliveira given permission to speak to wolves. £8.5M fee was agreed on was agreed on Monday. Expect him to be announced after the Derby game.

1.) 09 Aug 2017 14:22:04
Wwfc insider, that's the way to write a rumour! U could learn off Winstonwolf, instead of fannyin about wantin your belly rubbed!

2.) 09 Aug 2017 14:33:21
Nothing intended but if you're going to post info you supposedly know you have to put a source of some sort?

{Ed007's Note - No you don't.}

3.) 09 Aug 2017 14:48:46
Andre gray signing for Watford Rhodes no Gallagher no Afobe no oliveira yes he will at home with his Portuguese mates get plenty of service and score bags of goals get soares as well and an attacking midfielder and we should b done.

4.) 09 Aug 2017 14:57:59
He's left himself wide open to ridicule if the deal falls through, he's named the player and the price that's good enough.

5.) 09 Aug 2017 15:12:19
Would be ecstatic. if we got olviera and soares. plus an amf. that would make us odds on for title. you think.

6.) 09 Aug 2017 15:22:54
Attacking midfielder? So where in a 343 system does anyone imagine he would play? Who from the line-up against Middlesboring would be out? Neves? Saiss? Or are people thinking an 'attacking midfielder' plays out wide - where we already have Costa, Cavaleiro, Graham, Marshall, Jota etc? If we were playing 4231 then an attacking midfielder in the 'number 10' slot makes sense but as it appears we will be playing 343 it doesn't. Look at Chelski, their central midfield last season was Matic and Kante neither of whom are 'attacking'.

7.) 09 Aug 2017 15:26:56
Why after the derby game lol I'm sure they would like the money fast to get there target?

8.) 09 Aug 2017 16:07:58
Agree dapper, surely norwich would want to get a replacement in asap, what advantage would it be to either club to delay if true.

9.) 09 Aug 2017 16:31:49
Some stage in the game things r not going well he's going to change the system plus we're going to get injuries Costa Marshall already out price and Edwards hopefully get sold das these things have to b thought about.

10.) 09 Aug 2017 18:33:32
He won't play 3-4-3 all season.
He is known to use 4-2-3-1 which a lot of the wolves squad would be comfortable with.
It's the attacking creative players that may struggle. Cav wouldn't be a winger I could see playing well as he usually uses his right foot and comes in from the left. Costa, cav and jota playing the three though and inter changing.
I'd have reservations of Doherty playing rb in that system though. He cost us so many points last season. So did others I just remember him costing us against Leeds, blues, Bristol city to name a few.
There will be more purchases but I can see the 3-4-3 as Nuno selling himself as a new modern manager who has managed at top clubs in Europe.
His man management style and the way he communicates his style is amazing. Keep it going mucka!

11.) 10 Aug 2017 08:10:17
We have an attacking central mf it's Edwards but he doesn't look right in this system he didn't play well against Yeovil either . with 3 along the back we need Saiss and Neves in the middle not another attacker behind the front 3.

06 Aug 2017 10:06:17
Wolves signing a striker today i think.

1.) 06 Aug 2017 10:12:44
Any names?

2.) 06 Aug 2017 11:22:36
Jordan Rhodes name being touted after £8m offer for Gallagher turned down. Not sure if this rings true.

3.) 06 Aug 2017 11:25:46
£8m Gallagher bid rejected.

4.) 06 Aug 2017 11:44:50
Yeh I saw Nixon linked us with Rhodes after our 8mil Galagher bid was rejected.

5.) 06 Aug 2017 12:01:39
tiquinho and oliveira are our main targets also looking at wellthon of pacos ferriera.

6.) 06 Aug 2017 13:00:52
Apparently Nixon has said Gallagher, or if we can't sort that, we'll move onto Rhodes or Gray.

I desperately hope it's Gallagher, imo the others are too old and already made their name and identified with other clubs. We should be trying to get someone Brit, who is 24 or younger and hasn't yet made their name with a different club, who would be domestic enough to stop us being team Mendes, and who could become us.

The choice is obvious. Afobe still hands down the best candidate, if not then Gallagher.

7.) 06 Aug 2017 13:19:18
Rhodes only signed for Sheffield start of this season.

8.) 06 Aug 2017 13:59:23
Afobe or gray you lot kidding? we got leo, dicko and zyro costa Graham or cav what do we need anymore for? soon as cavs ban is up after Tuesday game, he's back and 5 weeks later costa is back. no room for another striker. get over it and back dicko and leo to get 20 each with cav and costa zyro 15 each.

9.) 06 Aug 2017 13:39:39

10.) 06 Aug 2017 14:20:41
Ulf shut up about Afobe he has already said he doesn't want to come back, end of.

11.) 06 Aug 2017 14:21:38
The Bull train. only 2 of them are out and out strikers? And what if they get injured. what's wrong with having a decent squad in depth. Ultimately giving you a plan B? having strengh in depth gives you an advantage over the rest and let's face it the Championship is one if the most competitive leagues in the world so any such advantage can be crucial come the end of a very l9ng season.

12.) 06 Aug 2017 14:41:26
Re Rated RKO pretty much all the strikers seem to say that, that they want to fight for their place in their team, they'd never drop down etc. But if Bournemouth haven't got room for him and he's going to spend most of the season not playing, they'd want to sell and Afobe would probably accept it because he wants to play, he's at a critical age. 24 seems to be when most other strikers hit it big, like Gray. And I'd guess Nuno as coach, getting in with Mendes might be a big attraction. Apparently Mendes asks players where their dream place to play is, then commits to do everything he can to make it happen. But they have to play ball and for other clubs to get there. Afobe might want to play for Arsenal, us and Mendes would be a surer way there than Bournemouth are.

But you may be right and it may be an absolute no. Why I suggested Bamford or Gallagher. If not possible, then out of all the foreign, Oliviera at 25 looks ok. I hope though Bonatini gets his match fitness and becomes our big name striker, at 23 and not already famous, could become us.

13.) 06 Aug 2017 15:00:07
Ulf'you really are getting a 'tad tedious with this Afobe spin, give it a rest eh, we have all had a bloody belly full on'it.

14.) 06 Aug 2017 15:10:26
And with regards to Bamford suggestion, no thanks. He looks like potential unfulfilled and has hardly been prolific for a few seasons.

15.) 06 Aug 2017 15:11:58
Ulf. Well done. I for one am very proud of you. You said bamford instead of "the Bournemouth one! "You see! Change is possible. It's the first sentence I've seen you speak without the word "the Bournemouth one"

16.) 06 Aug 2017 15:29:10
:-) I just want this last striker signing to fit as well as possible, because it's likely to have a big impact on the identity of the whole team. It is important, look how much money Man City threw to get gangster type players, like Ballotelli, Tevez etc, to go with their Oasis baad attitude urban gangster brand (they have relationship with and market in New York / urban USA now) . We're not urban gangster we're classy and heroic, our last striker signing should reflect that.

{Ed001's Note - Man City did no such thing. Balotelli was just a promising kid when they signed him. Tevez was all about putting one over on Utd. You are just talking crap now. Clearly nonsense and you have no idea what you are wittering on about.}

17.) 06 Aug 2017 15:49:41
Come on Ed your bigger than that, we all know Ulf is here for entertainment value and not his knowledge of footy 😂.

18.) 06 Aug 2017 16:16:02
Ballotelli was in with the whole Naples thing. You only have to look at the amount of support Man City has achieved compared to other English clubs, in the American cool urban gang culture stuff. See their shirt lots. Man City will have had people earning fortunes advising them on brand, they'll have a vision of what they are and should try and be, that extends throughout the club.

{Ed001's Note - it was nothing to do with that. You are talking nonsense.}

19.) 06 Aug 2017 16:21:33
No eds right ulf talks a load of crap.

20.) 06 Aug 2017 16:34:06
Should be OAF not Ulf.
Afobe is tiresome now as much as he would add to tactical flexibility.
Soares, Gray or any of the other strikers would be a strong addition. In those games where our good football is broken up by clubs like Cardiff.10 men behind the ball, time wasting tactic and we'll nick a goal from a set piece mentality. remember Sandwell town and qpr went up with that rubbish style (not brand don't want Ulf to get excited) of football.
I just hold reservations over midfield. Can saiss and price do it all season? Maybe Nuno has built a lot of trust and confidence in the camp though. His man management skills are sublime so far. I would still purchase a combative midfielder! UTW.

21.) 06 Aug 2017 16:35:58
I think what Ulf is trying to say is when Steve Bull: The Movie is made we should get Benedict Cumberbatch to play him, not Idris Elba. You know, for branding reasons. Elba is a little too urban and Cumberbatch is more glamorous. :)

22.) 06 Aug 2017 16:40:30
Adobe is very unlikely to consider the championship.
Afobe in Bournemouth, Ulf's in LaLaLand.

23.) 06 Aug 2017 16:40:32
Gotta say that when I see an Ulf post I just skim straight past it. Boring, tedious and very repetitive. Sorry to say that about what i'm sure is your honest opinion bud. that's my opinion!

24.) 06 Aug 2017 16:45:21
They bought Man City because Man U were the footballing Establishment, its identity is based in getting one over on the Establishment, rocking their boat, on being urban counter culture. Big clubs are global brands with particular identities and that's manifest in the type of managers and some of the talisman players they sign and tolerate. Arsenal, Man U, Man City etc.

{Ed001's Note - not true. Perhaps you should stop now before you make a complete fool of yourself. They bought Man City because of its stadium and potential.}

25.) 06 Aug 2017 17:09:22
What whole Naples thing? Balotelli was born in Palermo which is on an island separate to mainland Italy, he then moved to the northern part of Italy, nowhere near Naples before moving to England. Maybe, just Maybe, Man City has a big following in New York because Shiekh Mansour owns New York City FC who play in near identical kit to Man City and are even sponsored by the same sponsors. I think your eyes might be playing tricks on you. If you don't believe me just Google New York City FC kit and see how similar they are.

26.) 06 Aug 2017 16:58:54
Wolves 4 life, I hear you but I believe that we have the team that should kick every ones ass this season think leo will be a super star and dicko cav and don't forget costa are going to do it this season few more games and no one will fancy playing us let's hope Tuesday get few goals and be ready for hull really don't think we will bring another 20 million player in as ffp if we don't go up will squeeze us tight notice the if we don't go up before people bash my post.

27.) 06 Aug 2017 17:23:10
Man City owners also own New York jas.

28.) 06 Aug 2017 17:59:30
I don't recall Ulf posting so much before our beloved Wavidsmith departed. Are they one and the same?

29.) 06 Aug 2017 18:01:20
I know. That's what I said. Hence the similarities.

30.) 06 Aug 2017 18:48:58
I'm beginning to think he is a baggie on a wind up old ulfhednar.

31.) 06 Aug 2017 18:55:01
The Bull Train I can't see us bringing in any player over the value of 10m before window closes. I honestly think 1 striker so we have strength in depth will complete the project.

32.) 07 Aug 2017 15:03:52
Wavid has rocked up on the mix

Jas, as an insider I can confirm that NYCFC are part of City Football Group along with Melbourne hence the nice email footer they have.

{Ed001's Note - they also have a Chinese team, as the ADUG is part-owned by a Chinese consortium now.}

33.) 07 Aug 2017 17:10:12
Why are you telling me? I already know that. You must be confusing me and ULF.

Willy Boly to Wolves, but on loan.

1.) 01 Jul 2017 15:59:30
snubbed us last year! no thanks!

30 jun 2017 21:39:10
omg. wolves linked with ruben neves! 25 mil.

1.) 30 Jun 2017 22:50:22
We're linked with everyone but they don't happen. its talisca all over again. so far we've signed two freebies and two more for a total of 3.5 Mill. (and that's if Douglas does sign)
Oh and don't forget the kid for 100k
Do you really think we're going to spend 25 Mill on one player?

2.) 30 Jun 2017 23:18:02
Reminds me of what's his name from last year load of hype but nothing came of it.

16 May 2017 13:56:12
This is all guess work guys but heres my theory.

FOSUN were ok with Lambert until he said he wants to buy British and mould the team around players like coady and Edwards in that interview a month ago. At this point they knew they wanted someone to replace Lambert and that person I believe is Marco Silva. it may sound silly but stay with me.

Wolves would have already announced that Lambert has been dismissed and that our new manager is Karanka if it was karanka we were after. think about it he's not in a job at the moment and it would be fairly easy to just quickly announce it as a deal would be easy to agree.

I believe they were waiting for Hull to get relegated to get Marco Silva. And if they stayed up the second choice would have been Karanka.

The Premier League season is not over yet and Silva is still under contract at Hull. however he has already stated that he wants to move on after Hull.

So I'm just wondering if they are waiting for the Premier League season to finish before they announce anything?

Also have to take into consideration the teams that are in the playoffs and their managers.

It is a crazy Theory but at the same time it could be very possible.

Yep mate was thinking the same thing.

My guess is that Silva will feel he has already proven himself as a champions league quality manager at Olympiakos and now a premier league quality manager at Hull. If he just bides his time he will be offered a job at an established prem club by Christmas at the latest. Top of the list is probably Southampton followed by Everton (if Koeman goes to Barcelona) and Watford. Coming down to the Championship will look like a lack of ambition. It could easily take three years to get us promoted and during that time he will start to be seen as a Championship manager.

I'm told that wolves are at Norwich watching Oliveira today. Team sheets have just come out and he's on the bench. It is believed that we are monitoring the situation and that we are very very interested in signing him.
