Jonny's permanent signing confirmed on the official Wolves site.

Reading links to us registering an interest in Charlie Austin. Interesting one if he can stay fit - he would offer us a different dimension.

1.) 26 Jan 2019 14:11:20
If he's not good enough for Southampton, how is he good enough for us? Besides, he's never far away from a red card.

2.) 26 Jan 2019 17:32:40
“If he’s not good enough for (Insert team name) he’s not good enough for us” what a ridiculous statement. Raul Jimenez didn’t seem good enough for Benfica. Jota didn’t seem good enough for Porto. Ruddy didn’t seem good enough for Norwich. Bennett didn’t seem good enough for Norwich. Coady didn’t seem good enough for Huddersfield or Wolves at one point. Boly didn’t seem good enough for Porto. Bully didn’t seem good enough for WBA. Charlie Austin is a finisher. Given the chance he can score, I’d take him as back up to Jimenez. He’s not a fancy name but would 100% make us strong in depth, where as Bonatini surely doesn’t.

3.) 26 Jan 2019 21:48:34
Yes Stuu! This man talks sense.

4.) 27 Jan 2019 13:17:20
Whilst Austin wouldn’t be a signing to fill me with joy it is true that Nuno might be able to elicit some better times from him until the end of this season at least and until we sign better in the Summer. What is undeniable is that he would definitely be an upgrade on Bonatini- then again so would most strikers - and unquestionably we do need another central striker as back up/ competition to Jiminez.

OODCL.

5.) 27 Jan 2019 14:18:36
Yesterdays match proved the need for another striker is a big priority.

6.) 27 Jan 2019 19:52:41
We do need another striker without doubt proved that Saturday, Nuno will sort it out, just glad We are still in cup because with the luck we had on Saturday could go a long way.

11 Jan 2019 23:48:55
Sky Sports preview of the City match includes this: "Diogo Jota may lose his place to Ivan Cavaleiro after a below par return against the Reds. " What game were they watching?!

StattoWolf II

1.) 12 Jan 2019 10:00:38
Jota offers us something different in that he runs directly at defenders with the ball where as Cavaleiro will try to run around the defender taking the ball past them. Both are effective.

2.) 12 Jan 2019 14:10:32
I agree Jas, but for Sky to say Jota had a below par game against Liverpool is ridiculous. I was very impressed with his movement and how he attacked and drew defenders for Jimenez.

3.) 12 Jan 2019 18:09:45
Think that was said because he was subbed; fact is, he was subbed due to first game back from hamstring injury, Nuno was saving him.

4.) 12 Jan 2019 18:18:59
Nuno always subs strikers.

5.) 13 Jan 2019 09:04:04
Jota was subbed because he was just back from injury. He was great when he was on The link up with Jimenez for the first goal as sublime. What a. partnership that could be.

The more rubbish the self-appointed experts spout about Wolves, the happier I am.

So we have officially agreed €18m for Rui Patricio - the amount originally agreed with de Carvalho before he got greedy. It's still an absolute steal for a keeper of his quality!

StattoWolf II

1.) 31 Oct 2018 20:35:27
Kepa - £75m, Alisson - £71m or Patricio - £18m. I think Chelsea and Liverpool were robbed.

04 Sep 2018 10:22:50
Iorfa has been added to the Premier League squad list. I assume this is going to be emergency cover for Doc if there are injuries to him or Jonny.

StattoWolf II

1.) 04 Sep 2018 15:21:43
Looks that way. He has plenty of experience now, and Doc will be injured sooner or later. We've been lucky with him the last few seasons.

He can fill in for Bennett too, now that Batth has moved out.

2.) 05 Sep 2018 21:50:42
Maybe he has demonstrated a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. This appears to be a pre-requisite for Nuno from all his players and quite rightly so. I think a few, Iorfa included, didn’t ingratiate themselves with the coach when he first arrived and he very quickly shipped them out on loan. Looks like a second chance has been granted and Iorfa may well have shown that he has learned his lesson. He has a lot of natural attributes, but has a lot to learn if he is to fulfil his early promise.
Other possibility is that we tried to move him out and there was no takers, so to keep some transfer value he has been named in the first team squad, prefer the first option but have no insider knowledge!

Renat Dadashov. That seems to be a signing that's slipped under the radar, hardly anyone is reporting it. Thelwell seems excited by it even if he is another one for the future.

Well done Morgan Gibbs-White being called up for England u21s for the Euros.

StattoWolf II

1.) 28 May 2019 13:04:28
Here here, I really hope this undoubted talent gets the chance to fulfill his potential with Wolves and England, go knock em dead Morgan👍.

Congratulations to the u23s for another great win again Man Utd and winning the league. Another brilliant result and another 2 goals for Ennis.

1.) 27 Apr 2019 09:43:34
Good back up to Nunos small 1st team squad then?

2.) 27 Apr 2019 11:14:29
There's only one way to find out!

3.) 27 Apr 2019 13:07:27
These guys should have probably been given a run before now. Therefore my reading of the situation is that Nuno is definitely driving for Europa Cup qualification. If we do make that goal then they will definitely be used at the start of next season. We couldn't handle another half dozen games early in the season with the same slender squad we currently have. Additionally European qualification puts us right up there in attracting players and retaining the best we have.
A great season ALL ROUND. Well done to all of the players!

We'll be okay for Sunday lads and lasses - Merson's predicted that we will lose again!

StattoWolf II

1.) 05 Apr 2019 17:51:37
He said we were a side likely to win the cup after about 10 league games in, on sky sports Saturday.

2.) 06 Apr 2019 10:21:47
The language I would be forced to use to describe Merson the moron wouldn’t be allowed on this site so you will have to use your imagination, needless to say the guy is an absolute ******************, *********, *******!

3.) 06 Apr 2019 10:35:43
sdav78 you forgot . and .! :-)

4.) 06 Apr 2019 10:54:25
S**t thanks Jack how could I possibly 😂😂😂.

02 Apr 2019 11:12:51
Just like to say well done to Kenny Jackett for his Wembley success on Sunday. A good man who does a good job consistently. Arguably we wouldn't be where we were without his rebuilding job - Fosun may have looked elsewhere.

As for tonight, it will be interesting to see what team Nuno puts out. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bennett back in to give him some game time and rest Saiss after the internationals and flights. Anyone think Ruddy may be in goal to give him game time before Sunday?

StattoWolf II

1.) 02 Apr 2019 11:33:24
Ruddy yes (to rest Rui hopefully) Bennett defo. Vinagre MGW Cav possibly, hope jota gets a rest. All thoughts on Wembley for me and couldn't really get too upset over Burnley or tonight. In fact we always bounce back the stronger after a couple of defeats.

2.) 02 Apr 2019 11:55:10
I am not sure he'll change too much tonight. I think Doc and Jimenez will be back in, could see MGW in for Moutinho, Bennett and Ruddy in but otherwise I think it will be the usual suspects. I wouldn't be unhappy to see Vinagre in though as I think he is an excellent prospect.

I would love to see Ennis on the bench as Cav, Costa and Traore have no great form this season. We need a finisher.

3.) 02 Apr 2019 12:40:52
Why not Ruddy in full stop? He would have made a better fist at stopping both Burnley goals and as Nuno as already shown Ruddy is his cup keeper so will invariably play on Sunday.

4.) 02 Apr 2019 14:22:19
Totally agree, sdav78, I don't think Patricio has covered himself in glory this season at all.

5.) 02 Apr 2019 17:59:30
Definitely well done to Kenny Jackett. Without him we might have stayed in League One. Fosun would have looked elsewhere. Not only did he win the title in style, he took us to seventh place when promoted to the championship. With, it must be said, only a few peanuts to spend from the tight-arses Morgan/ Moxey.

6.) 02 Apr 2019 22:03:02
Big respect to Kenny J.
Love the fact we have had a proper run out tonight. Couple of days full rest and recoup, then the game of the season.
Got to love it!

7.) 03 Apr 2019 18:22:44
Agreed. can't wait to see Wembley bathed in old gold.

And they are going to have a pretty unhappy young man on their books so it could have been counter productive them pulling the plug.

Clearly there are players to be unveiled. These guys are successful businessmen, they are not going to loan/ sell off players in an area where we have no depth and commit footballing suicide! Fosun are looking to build the club not dismantle it.

You can see a definite long term strategy from Fosun, which is a good thing. If 2 or 3 of these lads come good from the u23s, then its excellent business.

I wouldn't stress over first team signings, the club knows what its doing (thankfully after some of the mismanagement that we have had to live through! ) I am sure the right players will be signed.

Of all the positions we could do with strengthening, left back isn't a high priority I wouldn't have thought.

The VAR rule that TettenhallToad has spelled out clearly makes out 2 different standards of handball depending on what happens at the end of the move. That makes a mockery of the game. Either it's handball or it isn't, you either stop the game for the offence regardless of where on the pitch it happens not just because it goes in the net!

Presumably if, after the ball hits Boly, Dendonckers shot was cleared off the line for a corner and we'd have scored off that corner, the goal would have stood. It makes a complete joke of the rules. Well done Premier League!

I'd take Boly everytime over Maguire. What a bargain he was for 10m.

Sanderson looked composed, Ennis has pace to burn. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Vinagre's going to be a superstar! The future's looking good, and that's without signings coming in.
