So we have officially agreed €18m for Rui Patricio - the amount originally agreed with de Carvalho before he got greedy. It's still an absolute steal for a keeper of his quality!

Kepa - £75m, Alisson - £71m or Patricio - £18m. I think Chelsea and Liverpool were robbed.

Iorfa has been added to the Premier League squad list. I assume this is going to be emergency cover for Doc if there are injuries to him or Jonny.

StattoWolf II

1.) 04 Sep 2018 15:21:43
Looks that way. He has plenty of experience now, and Doc will be injured sooner or later. We've been lucky with him the last few seasons.

He can fill in for Bennett too, now that Batth has moved out.

2.) 05 Sep 2018 21:50:42
Maybe he has demonstrated a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. This appears to be a pre-requisite for Nuno from all his players and quite rightly so. I think a few, Iorfa included, didn’t ingratiate themselves with the coach when he first arrived and he very quickly shipped them out on loan. Looks like a second chance has been granted and Iorfa may well have shown that he has learned his lesson. He has a lot of natural attributes, but has a lot to learn if he is to fulfil his early promise.
Other possibility is that we tried to move him out and there was no takers, so to keep some transfer value he has been named in the first team squad, prefer the first option but have no insider knowledge!

I have seen it reported that we are in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a transfer for Bernd Leno. Out of all the various goalkeepers we have been linked with, I really hope that this one is true!

StattoWolf II

1.) 21 May 2018 14:48:03
Ditto statto!

2.) 21 May 2018 15:45:36
Bernd Leno is the pick of the bunch from all we have been linked with. goalkeepers wise
Would be amazing to take him!

3.) 21 May 2018 16:08:13
With the number of goalkeepers we are being link with I'm worried that our formation next season could be 8/ 1/ 1/ 1. No doubt of the message to Ruddy who kept how many clean sheets last season? Not saying it's wrong but ruthless, if true. Bring on the PL new faces.

4.) 21 May 2018 16:35:23
100% Statto.

5.) 21 May 2018 18:13:58
Agree that we’re being linked with an awful lot of GK’s. Primary positions we should be looking at 1st should be CF x 2 CB x 2 and also cover/ starter for Doc. I do think we need an upgrade on Ruddy but these should be the primary positions to fill first in my opinion. can't wait for next season!

6.) 21 May 2018 19:50:42
Looks like bolly has signed.

7.) 21 May 2018 23:11:18
Ruddy has always been dodgy. Can't catch for one.

15 Apr 2018 09:36:58
Moving away from our celebrations slightly, I have read that Everton are looking to link up with agent Mino Raiola to help improve their recruitment strategy.

I guess that rather than trying to get the rules changed to disrupt us (as was reported about their meeting on Thursday), it looks like some Premiership clubs think our model is a good idea after all!

StattoWolf II

1.) 15 Apr 2018 11:53:30
It puts a lot of power into the hands, and wallets, of super-agents. On the other hand, it's been good for the careers of Neves and others, who would still be playing in the reserves of to European teams.

2.) 15 Apr 2018 12:49:28
Uncle Jorge is here today!

3.) 15 Apr 2018 16:23:43
It seems silly season is here already. Just seen a report saying Mendes is looking to move Neves on from Wolves.

4.) 15 Apr 2018 17:19:57
The mistake many of these teams are making is that they are recycling coaches.
What made Wolves this season is Nuno. He attracted some players that Lambert wouldn't have. He knew what Portuguese players would fit into his style of football and he probably knew Neves would move for the right opportunity rather than sit on the bench at Porto.

5.) 15 Apr 2018 18:59:42
We tried foreign coaches before but they didn't work out maybe Nuno was third time lucky.

6.) 15 Apr 2018 23:12:15
Spot on Timmy, what a lot of these fans from other clubs don't seem to realise is that with all our wonder players Mendes wasn't the main pull it was VERY much Nuno! He'd worked with almost all of them, that's why they came! Yes Mendes gets them in the room initially but its Nuno and the club that persuade them to sign up! ;)

7.) 16 Apr 2018 09:04:52
Anewdawn. I agree on Maddison and Sessengnon. and personally I would add Jack Grealish to that Wish List.
Plus 2 quality Strikers needed (sorry B and A) . and some reinforcements at the Back.

13 Apr 2018 00:15:05
Just read a snippet that Premier League clubs want to discuss our relationship with Mendes at their quarterly meeting. Do I sense the Premiership are worried about who we could sign and actually challenge?

StattoWolf II

1.) 13 Apr 2018 01:12:04
Would like to hear what Man City have to say considering Ederson, Otamendi, Bernardo Silva and Mangala are all Gestifute clients and Mourinho at Utd is too. From that list itself it shows that Mendes moves his established players to the bigger clubs and uses other clubs to build a players stock. Suits me fine.

2.) 13 Apr 2018 10:25:36
The EPL will be glad to have at least one midlands club in the league. The midlands is a significant demographic. The opportunity is bigger than any us ever imagined. WWFC need to gear up fast and will need a bigger stadium to sustain a position as the midland number one club. You will never get 60,000 at the Mol site - its time to think big and build a new stadium off-site. let's not get too sentimental about the Mol. I grew up going to the old Mol, the scene of the glories of the fifties no one cared about knocking that down. Forget the past think of tomorrow.

3.) 13 Apr 2018 13:29:20
I think we should stay at that site build upwards if necessary because Wolves is the most famous thing about Wolverhampton and to move away from the centre might suit the club but not the town or should I say city.

4.) 13 Apr 2018 16:34:31
I agree window wolf I’ve been going to the mol since the 1950s and I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else it’s ideal where it stands now we can build upwards.

5.) 13 Apr 2018 17:47:27
Jeff Shi has already stated that there are no plans to move to a new site. The only plans are to improve, enlarge the ground where it stands now.

6.) 13 Apr 2018 19:12:54
It's footballing history. Must stay at molineux.

I would like to express my condolences to Leicester after the terrible tragic accident last night and wish Glenn Hoddle all the best in his recovery after a heart attack.

We all love football and the show will go on but it does pale into insignificance when lives are lost.

Yesterdays result was disappointing but it was going to happen somewhere down the line in the Prem. We dominated the game and really just need to be more clinical in front of goal.

No Batth or Enobakhare in the squad for Sheff Wed. Loan moves on the cards?

StattoWolf II

1.) 28 Aug 2018 20:50:32
Looks likely. Is Enobakhare fit or carrying an injury?

2.) 29 Aug 2018 10:16:34
I hadn't heard that he was injured so assume that something must be lined up.

3.) 29 Aug 2018 11:30:30
Danny and Bright will almost certainly go out on loan this week. Danny to Sheff Wed, where he will probably end up permanently. Bright needs playing time in the championship and hopefully will come back to us a better finisher.

26 Jul 2018 14:42:09
A lot of Wolves supporters have been very critical of other teams hierarchies and fans for being arrogant, cocky, disparaging about our club. I for one don't like it but would prefer to take the moral high ground and fans on here have said similar.

HOWEVER, there have recently been posts on here which can easily be construed as arrogant and cocky and disparaging to others - all the things that we have accused other teams of! Some opinions being spouted could easily see other fans around the country think what a load of tossers Wolves fans are. I know we are not and that we have all waited for the good times to roll and we are all enjoying the ride, but come on guys, let's have some perspective and grace.

I would rather people think "well done Wolves, a big club is rising again and good luck to you"

1.) 26 Jul 2018 16:26:02
Oh, get off your high horse and let them have some fun, Statto. This is football, true arrogance is what is being displayed between the United Kingdom and the E. U. I'll leave it to you as to which party is the most arrogant.

2.) 26 Jul 2018 16:45:00
You can have fun without being arrogant and there's no harm in having some class or grace! (Not Colin's definition! ) There is a difference between having ambition and shooting your mouth off.

And don't get me started on politics and the incompetence being shown there!

3.) 26 Jul 2018 16:59:03
Well said Statto, some posts on here are overly 'tongue in cheek'. Let's be proud of our club but show respect and good grace to others.

4.) 26 Jul 2018 21:09:38
Here here!

13 Jun 2018 11:49:37
I have just read an article on thevE&S website with two "experts" on Portuguese football regarding Jiminez. It does seem that he is a traditional centre forward but does not contribute much to the overall team. Having read this, I don't really see how he will fit into the system we play other than as an impact sub, which appears to be what he has been throughout his career.

As such, I would expect more attacking signings. I know nothing about the guy, so have to take these opinions at face value, but both do not feel he is worth the money. Let's hope Nuno works his magic and they are proved wrong!

17 May 2018 21:36:02
So Neves has been left out of Portugal's World Cup squad. Whilst I am sure he is devastated, from a club perspective it's probably the best thing for Wolves - he gets a summer of rest and he is not further in the limelight (although I believe him when he says he doesn't want to leave) .

StattoWolf II

1.) 18 May 2018 07:18:32
Absolutely gutted for him especially when Adrien Silva who hardly played was selected ahead of him. The rest will do him good and hopefully he'll be determined to show the selectors they were wrong which will only benefit us.

2.) 18 May 2018 09:04:35
Couldn't agree more statto and jas.

3.) 18 May 2018 11:43:07
Had to replace him in my fantasy team with Toni Kronos. Don’t think many countries are taking this Word Cup serious anyway, certainly not Portugal.

Surely Bennett would be more likely to play RWB not completely disrupt the backline by shifting Coady with that line up. I can't see it happening though.

What I want to know is why Saiss played RCB on Friday and Dendoncker wasn't in the 18. It seems very strange to me why he isn't featuring.

I have been wondering that Timmy especially as Doherty has been giving interviews in Ireland. I am therefore hoping he will be fit and playing on Sunday. He is crucial to the team.

What other teams, or at least their fans, don't seem to have realised yet is that we aren't desperate for money that we have to sell. And I don't think that Neves would want to leave at the moment - he's playing every week at the highest level, he's forced his way into the Portugal starting XI and he seems happy at Molineux.

Liverpool fans are having a chuckle thinking that Neves for Origi is a reasonable swap.

I hope Doc recovers too ut if he doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised to see Gibbs-White at wingback. He has played there before off the bench. Can't see Nuno upsetting the defence by moving Bennett even though its a way of getting Dendoncker in, and I doubt Costa or Traore would be trusted to do the defensive part of the job.

I agree Jas, a sense of perspective is needed. Yes, its a worrying run of results and the last couple of performances have been well below what we have come to expect but it was always going to happen at some point. The Prem is tough, not a cakewalk. We need to stay fully behind Nuno and the team.

Been saying it for a couple of weeks about Ashley-Seal and Ennis. No point throwing them in when they are out of goalscoring form, so the time should be now.

What is it with November? Apart from last season, we seem to forget how to play in November over the past 5 seasons!

Seriously though, that was a shocker yesterday and Nuno must be thinking of changes now because 1 point in 5 games is a rot. I would look to add some steel and protection in midfield with either Saiss or Dendoncker against Cardiff - we all know its going to be a battle!

The forward line needs a change. Costa and Jota have been ineffective all season. We have in form lads in the u23s in Ennis and Ashley-Seal so let's give them a chance.
