Andre Ayew being offered around for free?

The much needed striker is Cunha, with Jiminez and Costa as back up and the goals will come from them, Podence, Sarabia,Neves, Hwang,Dawson, maybe Nunes, Ait Nouri, Moutinho, Kilman and Collins. Pigs may fly and we might even get to see 'fast' Traore score. The big question is will we create the chances?

Morning Phil789,
What is encouraging is the seismic shift in the running of the Club.
Will it be in time?.hope so.
We now have a Football General Manager who is now controlling all aspects of the football operation.
The damage done to the squad over the last 2+ seasons is greater than most initially could see.
Guangchang has made a great decision in spending large on a quality coaching team and changing the structure.
It gives us a chance of staying up and if we do, with the personnel and structure I feel very, very positive for our future!

Morning Rugeley,
Agree absolutely about the damage done with our premier league status in serious threat with which the club as acted.
Not my thing to delve into the mistakes the club made.
With it being a season like no other with the world cup in Qatar I believe we will be alright and next season will be great.
I envisage a top striker in the summer to replace jiminez.
But we got to get this season going first.
A win or even a top performance agaisnt Liverpool at the very least will put us in good stead.
Feel it's going to be nail biting but surely we all know we are used to that.

When you consider the vast amounts of money spent on some transfers during this window I think we have invested extremely well and the future looks bright.

Agree Phil798 and with Winton.get this season secured first!
If we do, as you say, there will be more over-hauling of the squad.
Would expect Neves, Nunes to be sold for good money; Semedo, Moutinho, Jonny, Jimenez, Costa, Guedes, maybe Hwang sold/released.
New support Keeper, 1/2 RBs, another CB, midfield is sorted, 2 front players brought in.
Before all that, we have the little matter of Liverpool on Saturday!

A great transfer window (how many times have we wished to say that over the years?).
Fresh, young, exciting talent that is bound to kick others up the backside too.
Most importantly, these guys chose to come here while we are in a relegation fight. That shows desire, tenacity, and a lack of fear. Exactly what we need over the coming months.

Agree with everything you guys have said above. Really looking forward to Saturday and the team selection. I think it maybe 3rd time lucky for us, get the crowd up and the new faces playing and get off to a flying start.COYW

I see some Everton fans are blaming Thelwell for their poor transfer window. Didn’t some of us want him back?

The difference is we now have a higher profile manager than Lage, and with respect Nuno as well, which seems to have made the club a more attractive prospect for players like Cunha and Gomes. JLo has consistently managed at an international, European and top tier level (Real Madrid, Spain and Sevilla) is well known in the Iberian peninsular where much of our recruitment takes place, as is the Football director/manager/recruitment overseer.
