Saiss signed new 3 year contract so I've heard but haven't actually seen it for myself, have you guys?

1.) 15 Jan 2022 09:50:36
Read this morning that Wolves are set to discuss a new contract with him

2.) 15 Jan 2022 14:37:48
Just read that we are signing the Estoril winger Chiquinho. Aged 21, 8 goals in 35 matches.

3.) 15 Jan 2022 18:11:58
Sounds like a'done deal' Deep Throat. Just checked out the dreaded YouTube highlights and he looks tricky and quick. Read two different versions of this story, one calling him a winger and one a striker.
Fabrizio Romano was the journalist who broke the story but at 20 years old will he be 1st team or under 23's.

4.) 15 Jan 2022 18:50:40
Estoril is where we signed Toti Gomes from and apparently Grasshoppers were considering buying him last Summer maybe we will sign him and loan him to them for a time. By the looks of things it hasn't done Toti Gomes any harm has it! Very good debut from him today I thought.

5.) 15 Jan 2022 19:59:23
Chiquinho looks to be a potential replacement for Adama - plays left or right wing and is very quick. Hope he is an investment for the future and Adama stays and signs new contract (at a reasonable wage rather than a crazy one).

6.) 15 Jan 2022 21:07:22
@LongmyndWolf Chiquinho Is 21, a year younger than Francisco Trincão, but two years older than Fabio Silva. So there’s no reason to say he can’t go straight into the first team squad. Yerson Mosquera Is also 20.

13 Sep 2021 12:57:45
Any news on traore signing a new contract?

1.) 15 Sep 2021 22:16:53
Not yet but from a few sources it sounds like him and his agent want to insert a release clause which is holding things up (either the club don't want one or think the fee proposed is too low) .

2.) 17 Sep 2021 09:03:32
Had to laugh at the Graham Roberts comment ex spurs player saying why would Traore want to sighn for Wolves when he can sighn for a better club just shows how jealous they are of our football club.

3.) 17 Sep 2021 11:16:14
The only fans who think Spurs are a top 6 club are Spurs fans.

At least Liverpool, Man U, Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea have won something in the last 10 years.

Since Spurs last lifted a trophy, Birmingham, Wigan, Swansea, Leicester and Portsmouth have won one of English footballs major honours. Don't see any of them claiming to be big 6.

4.) 17 Sep 2021 11:35:34
Bigwolf all Wolves fans know that we are a better club than Spurs and Wolvo is a better city than London but to a neutral it may be appealing to play in a super stadium in the capital for a team who were in the champions league final recently and regularly finish in the top six. We know Traore would be making a big mistake by going to Spurs the same as Doc but the club need to convince him and make him an offer he can’t refuse if they want him to sign.

5.) 17 Sep 2021 13:34:08
The funny thing about it is that although Spurs like to think they're top 6, they have actually been getting worse and worse:

4th:18/ 19
6th:19/ 20 on goal difference
7th:20/ 21.

6.) 18 Sep 2021 18:35:30
You lot are done, just like I told you so, not so big mouthed now lads are you. ??????

You're Championship fodder now and this season or next you will be there.

{Ed033's Note - Steady on.

7.) 18 Sep 2021 21:57:59
Not a chance there are at least 6 weaker teams than us by far.
Brighton, burnley, watford, norwich, beat us today but brentford when injuries settle in, leeds.
Nothing against villa far play to you, leon bailey signing of the season for sure, thought that when he signed and he had a top performance today fair play up the midlands teams.

8.) 19 Sep 2021 12:19:46
At least we didn't have to sell our stadium, that money is soon going to run out.

9.) 23 Sep 2021 05:52:41
E from wombourne. Your having a laugh aren't you, Wolverhampton better than London. Wolverhampton is a hole which needs flattening and rebuilding.

10.) 25 Sep 2021 15:50:34
Weren't villa in this position when they came up?

11.) 25 Sep 2021 15:51:43
Why would we want to keep him? Should have sold him so he could showcase his lack of end product on a bigger stage lol.

Sorry but Trincao is better than he is. Trincao has actually done something. Traore is just running man. Not sure why are fans accept it.

27 Jun 2021 20:43:35
have wolves took the option to keep Vitinha?

{Ed002's Note - Nothing is resolved as far as I know but he wants to stay.}

1.) 27 Jun 2021 22:35:56
Thank you.

2.) 28 Jun 2021 21:48:12
No and they have until 1st July.

07 Jan 2022 16:14:07
Traore to spurs then.

1.) 07 Jan 2022 17:30:14
Not a lot to be done about it if he won't sign a new deal. Anyone listen to Judahs podcast this week? There was some interesting points raised, one being that apprently Adama wants an 'eye watering wage' part of which is to be the highest paid player at the club.

Now I want to keep Traore as much as most peeps but should he be our highest paid player? He has talent but he's also started most of the last month on the bench and we've done OK? Not to mention Netos on the mend.

Other interesting point they make is that Wolves actually have no interest in Docs at all and that it's just Docs agent using the story to get peeps talking about his player (clearly it's working:).

They reckon he will go out on loan before the end of the window but that Wolves are more than happy with their current RBs so ain't interested. Should be an interesting window ?

2.) 07 Jan 2022 23:18:04
I would prefer Adama to stay but if his heart ain't in it then let him go. Apparently Conte sees him as a wing back like he played Victor Moses at Chelsea.

3.) 08 Jan 2022 02:48:50
Jas- yeah I am reading the same that Conte wants him as a RWB. Now normally I'd laugh at Adama playing that role under ANY other manager (not in a nasty way just in that he can't time a tackle for love nor money) BUT in Contes system I think it just might work. Remember when Conte won the title with Chelsea, Victor Moses was a world beater for one season because Contes attacking FB system suited him entirely! Now if Conte can do that with an average Vicor Moses imagine what he could do with Adama?!
Ironically I still think it would be a bad move for him (Adama) cause Spurs managers these days are lucky to make two years!
So here is my prediction, Adama will go to Spurs (this window or the next) and he will light up the league at RWB (and get tied with bigger clubs) for 12-18 months! After that Conte will either get a better job or be fired (it's the Spurs way:)! At the which point the next manager will try to crow bar him into a new system (whilst Adama gets increasingly dispondent with his sub appearances) until come Jan in one or two seasons time he will be tied with coming back to us! Honestly it's Docs all over again! We all think we'd struggle without him but we also know (deep down:) that we would still get by!
I agree we'd be worse off and a lot less fun to watch; but in the mean time Adama is losing the love for the game because fundamentally he should have been a little less greedy/foolish and stayed with us and been a club legend! Instead of a bit part player at a club that will pay you more to be sub!
Now I'm obvs not saying its gospel but that just how I see this playing out ??

4.) 08 Jan 2022 12:35:53
Let's face it lads we all love a fast winger at Wolves think "Tank" used to love watching big Steve Kindon. Used to love watching him mainly because you never knew what he was going to do, don't think he did either! I feel the same with Adam. But if he goes he goes, this has gone on too long he's clearly not going to sign a contract so sadly I think we have to take as much as we can get and move on. Not what I want but it's probably best done now before the price drops even more.

5.) 08 Jan 2022 12:48:53
I agree bb and on a similar note, I felt like Adamas decision to play for Spain instead of Mali was the wrong call. He is always going to struggle to get in to the Spain team unless he improves but he could have been a legend in Mali. To me it’s feels like his perception of how good he is compared to reality is off. Thinks he deserves more money etc, definitely not our best player and shouldn’t be on the most money in the team. It will be a shame to see him go as the entertainment factor is great.

6.) 08 Jan 2022 14:48:48
Ken Steve Kindon was only just my time but if I recall he was more likely to put the ball over the South bank than in the net! Great days all the same though, 71 - 74 best side since 1959-60 although nunos side 2018 - 21 is close.

7.) 08 Jan 2022 15:24:17
Goatmark in my opinion you are so right on Traore, exiting YES
Frustrating YES. Best player NO, warrants big pay increase NO.
He is delusional if he thinks he is anything but any of the above. I would truly love to see him fulfil this apparent potential but he's certainty had enough time so we should sell. Most fans seem to want him to stay how long do you want to give him, we could hopefully fund a player or 2 to strengthen our squad.

04 Dec 2021 17:25:54
Why didn't they get at them instead of trying to defend for 95 minutes.

1.) 04 Dec 2021 17:51:28
Because they're the best attacking team in the world who were scoring a average of 3 goals a game for fun.

2.) 04 Dec 2021 17:56:29
So we sit back at home an try for a 0-0? Great attacking yes but their defence has a mistake or two in them I’d rather of had a real go at them and lose 3-0 than defend an lose 1-0

3.) 04 Dec 2021 18:15:56
These things happen, let's just move on to the next match, no point in looking back to much unless its to learn from the mistakes.

4.) 04 Dec 2021 18:24:28
Will we learn though?

5.) 04 Dec 2021 18:43:03
Will we learn? I don't know and if I'm honest I think these late goals seem to happen more now than used to across football in general.

Maybe I'm imagining it though as I haven't seen any stats to justify it. What seems to be is that we do need to be better able to close games down more in extra time, but I know that's easier said than done against these top sides.

6.) 04 Dec 2021 18:57:03
Maxy84, I don't know what game you were watching but Wolves clearly weren't playing for the draw.

7.) 04 Dec 2021 18:58:15
This game just cements my opinion that we will never challenge for the major honours. We are full of internationals and have an attack minded coach yet sit back and have 3 shots in total. Not happy Bruno one iota.

8.) 04 Dec 2021 19:07:55
I do think we need to stay focused on the realities here peeps. We were outstanding defensively for 94 mins, yes luck was riden (for both teams I might add) but as a defensive display we were excellent. In particular Ait Nouri was inspired, jusg read the game perfectly and got everywhere. If he hadn't got injured we take the draw ALL day there! Hooever was on for 90 seconds (granted playing on his weaker side) but all he had to do was defend one attack from Salah and he was nowhere near him! That's one of those things sadly but for those bemoaning our performance today then you need to go back and watch it again! We played the perfect game for 94 mins and only lost cause our best player on the pitch for most the game at was forced to go off. You watch the Pool interviews and tell me they thought we were an easy game, cause they were all quick to say how good they thought we were! Of course that doesn't make it any less infuriating but then that is just footy! COYW ?

9.) 04 Dec 2021 19:50:52
Agree bullysboy

I add I see we have the solid foundations to build upon.
In time we will have our day.

Kilman and Ait Mouri the last few games are only going to get better and both are doing excellent.
Ait nouri his defensive side to his game is clear and plain to see the massive progress and improvement.
With key players back from injury in the future and the next 2 or so transfer windows I believe we will be competing further up the table.

10.) 04 Dec 2021 20:18:43
Here here BullysBoy

11.) 04 Dec 2021 21:27:53
Totally agree with BullysBoy, we just played an exceptional team with a recent score for fun record, people need to wise up.
We rode our luck a few times, but great defensive display.
Funny when teams are pegged back by a better team fans always revert to the we didn't try and attack mode.
We did try on numerous occasions, just so happens it kept breaking down, bad passes, poor touch's wrong decisions. not a lack of effort.

Some times you just have to say we played a bloody good team not just their goal scorers but team.

There is a difference between sitting back and being pegged back, today we where pegged back.

12.) 04 Dec 2021 21:46:02
BullyBoy i'm glad you saw the same game as me! It was such a shame Rayan had to go off, after the game I saw Salah celebrating holding a Wolves shirt and i'm sure it was Rayans, respect to him for that he was superb today. It would be daft to say he had him in his pocket but he played him very well and Saiss also had a super block on him as well. Hoever had only two things to do and to be fair to come into a game in the 93rd cold is a terrible situation to be in but that's the job! He got caught on the ball when he should have released it to Raul then was late getting back to stop Salah. Small margins that's all it takes. I'm not slagging him off it's just what happened. I was proud of our lads today Liverpool are no mugs and deal with things in what i'd called a professional way. When we were on the break they are happy to commit the foul to buy time we all know it happens City and Chelsea do the same. They defend and keep it simple give away throw ins and corners because they get the time to reset. We were close to a very close to a great point today, bring on the next game. Ed001 good win for you Origi saved Jota from a lot of stick, how he made a mess of that i've no idea though i'm sure Coady will be happy to take the credit! I would add that despite liking Klopp I thought the crap regarding Origi the legend was a bit pathetic tbh. I doubt Origi believes him either!

13.) 04 Dec 2021 22:26:16
Totally agree Lord Thor
Poor touches sloppy passing out from the back keeps us under pressure, as for the short goal kicks trying to play out nearly always puts us under pressure against a team of Liverpool’s quality just get the ball out of your own half a long goal kick is surely a 50/50 ball, can’t fault the effort today.

14.) 04 Dec 2021 23:53:36
Jas M
Are you for real. "Clearly not playing for a draw"
So we were playing to lose then? Cus we sure as hell weren't playing to win.
Cruel to lose in the last minute after some defensive heroics, but please, let's not pretend we didn't get what we deserved. There simply should not be such a massive gap between two teams from the same division, let alone just a few places between us in the table. Yes, they're a brilliant team, but the gap now between us is greater than 4 years ago. Ok Liverpool are not our immediate rivals and yes, they'll batter other teams, but a showing like that was like super league vs non league.
Our season won't be defined by results against Liverpool, but will be defined against teams like Norwich and Burnley. There is no shame in losing to a brilliant Liverpool team and some of our individual performances were commendable but to, in any way, pretend that we actually deserved something from that game, is ludicrous. Let's get these "old gold" tinted glasses off and start having some honesty. During a season we'll see all sorts of performances, from one end of the scale to another, but can we at least be honest and realistic about what we have seen each week. Clearly you find that difficult.

15.) 05 Dec 2021 09:29:40
Sharesum, yes I am for real. I was there and witnessed 1st hand Semedo, Hwang, Traore and Jimenez all trying to get forward only to be thwarted by Liverpools defence.
The issue is that because Liverpool had so much of the ball, we were forced into a more defensive position. This does not equate to us playing for a draw, it means that we were pinned back into defence.

16.) 05 Dec 2021 10:35:53
Jas I agree with you totally, when we had ha the chance to attack we took it. As I said earlier in the thread there were a number of fouls that stopped us. Some were legit some were tactical though only two resulted in bookings. Plus they defend so well and keep it simple just putting it out for a throw or corner not trying to be too clever.

17.) 05 Dec 2021 10:42:44
A lot of positives to take and my bro who was there thought the same.

But a stab in the guts losing in the manner we did.

I'm frustrated at our lack of goals but believe Lage will eventually get it right.Whether that is new personal extra training whatever it takes I believe Lage will sort it.

18.) 05 Dec 2021 11:53:00
Sharesum and Maxy. Sounds like youd have preferred us to go hell for leather and get a four goal hiding. I'd imagine that the principal aim was to stay in the game for as long as possible. That way, you never know because all it might take to win would be a single goal and let's face it, despite their dominance we did have several excellent opportunities. We were never going to score more than once given recent results and 12 goals all season so yes, we were going for a win, but 1-0. 4-3 would have been cloud cuckoo land. Jas and Phil are talking sense.

19.) 05 Dec 2021 12:55:37
Old Wolf I think we could have got a draw considering the amount of time left. Hoever should have passed the ball to Jimenez and spent the last couple of minutes by the corner flag with him. That's what most teams would have done.We deserved that for the effort they gave. UTW.

01 Nov 2021 21:59:16
No game time for Adama? You think he's turned down the contract offer an going in January is why he's not playing? I'd of definitely put him on at some point. Great win regardless even tho I was nervous towards the end

1.) 01 Nov 2021 22:21:21
Great win tonight, one of the best 1st half performances I've seen bring on palace

2.) 01 Nov 2021 23:05:56
Agree. That 2nd half was absolutely crying out for adama with Everton pressing higher up the field. By then we were just hoping for a counter attack and who better than adama for that. The game was becoming a battle for that loose ball and podence is not the man for a battle. Strange substitutions.
But overall a great win with some very good performances. Raul looking back to his best and neves was awesome.

22 Sep 2021 22:00:34
Hard to sum up this wolves team, great fight back after being 2 down could of snatched it at the end, penos missed were poor, thing that grates me most tho is why our players lining up at the end to embrace nuno ok he's always going to be a hero for wolves but he's an enemy in the battle!

1.) 22 Sep 2021 22:32:07
At the end?! If they'd done it before ko I'd completely agree but once the game is finished it's finished, no?! Not sure what the issue is to be honest?

2.) 23 Sep 2021 00:17:52
Well I hope I don't have to get used to that, awful, better, very good, all in the same game, talk about roller coaster ride.
Emotions all over the shop.

I mean we talk about what team turns up, well that was all teams. the good the bad and the ugly to coin a phrase not necessarily in the right order.

Difficult to sum up. please a little stability maybe?

Once it went to pens, not many would have predicted a favourable outcome I suspect.

At the moment somewhat like the performance my thoughts are too many and a bit scattered.

Stability. is missing.

3.) 23 Sep 2021 08:58:21
Again I think we are on the wrong side of the rub, we were starting ok then our plan (? ) Is disrupted by mosquiro injury. Coady and boly, whilst finding position, muck up and we're 1 down. The subsequent confidence drop before getting back into it and being denied what surely was a penalty. Dendonkers superb header then getting us back in it. Traores introduction showed how much we need his attacking presence and strength with us again being denied a penalty shout and opposition players getting away with yellow card offences. Hwang dendonker and pods showed how we can apply ourselves for the equaliser. Admittedly Ruddy saved us twice quite literally but we so nearly nicked it at the end. The missed/ saved penalties, neves in particular, were the difference and I would have thought Spurs should be equally worried about their performance (if not more so) as we are. There was a lot to take out and learn from last night, but I'm looking through the rose tinted specs today and think it will slowly turn around. The ref situation needs to be addressed with some serious analysis. We can't be the only team to encounter dubious decisions when playing the rich city teams.

4.) 23 Sep 2021 11:01:33
I suspect the Spurs keeper was well briefed by Nuno about what our players would do if it came to penalties.

5.) 24 Sep 2021 00:36:05
It’s great to see the positive outlook from most of you guys however, the last 4 years and the PR by Fosun has increased the expectations from supporters and the press particularly the comments about competition with the big 6 after those two 7th place finishes.
There is no doubt after sliding to 13th then sacking ( by mutual consent) Nuno Fosun increased the expectations further and it was once again a relatively unknown to premier league who ended up in the Job.
It’s all very well showing belief and hope that things will improve but we must surely all agree that after accepting the first three defeats the last three have been disappointing even with the win?
Hope that there will be three teams worse than Wolves being used as a positive is surely desperation?
The truth is that we were bad during last season in comparison but these few games this season alongside the expectations are proving a real test.
Defending is a shambles and despite creating chance after chance we can’t convert them!
Brentford was a disgrace of a game but professional players should be able to cope with those tactics.
And the penalty misses! Well!
I do hope things are sorted quickly because it is very disappointing and with the expectations created by the owners I don’t think fans nor owners will be able to stay positive for long. Remember Lage was sacked after numerous defeats previously can Wolves afford to wait?
I ended up shouting at the TV on Wednesday because of the diabolical first half!
The men with white coats will be paying me a visit if it continues in that vein.

6.) 24 Sep 2021 09:50:30
Well ExRef, how well you have summed up our early season. Lage has provided an attacking style so far without sufficient goals scored. Very simply, goals scored will bring confidence for team and supporters. Losing Mosquera so soon against Spurs was cruel for our changed defence. COYW.

18 Sep 2021 14:32:10

1.) 18 Sep 2021 14:40:46
Moxley out!

2.) 18 Sep 2021 14:50:58
Irrespective of poor defending, that's 4 Nils out of 5 games, that's a big worry.

3.) 18 Sep 2021 14:58:03
Agree Pedro, It's very concerning.

4.) 18 Sep 2021 16:41:55
Not good enough. I love him to bits. But I think Jimenez needs dropping to bench.
It can't go on like this,
Thought marcal was poor today.
I'm getting concerned for Bruno.

5.) 18 Sep 2021 17:48:00
Agree greylegwolf. Raul is going to have to find his form in training and maybe coming off the bench. We can afford to be so dependent on someone who is simply not performing.

No I wouldn’t.
