More memories than quiz questions Phil. Slept in Molineux Alley, twice, overnight queuing for League Cup final tickets, 1974 v Man City and 1980 v Notts Forest, won both. In fact I've never seen Wolves loose at Wembley.
Became personal friends over the years with Gary Pierce, Steve Kindon, and had a drink or two with Danny Hegan and Frank Munro, the latter usually at the old Moreton Country Club, now the Morton Arms in Fordhouses.
Always got my petrol from Jim McCalliog's garage on the Penn Road and knew his dad quite well, smashing bloke. One day he made Jim show me the perfectly formed stud marks he got through his shin pads in one of the European matches the night before.
Regularly watched legends like John Richards, Derek Dougan, Waggy, Peter Knowles, Hibbit, Bailey and of course Wolves own super sub Norman Bell. Came on for the second half against Liverpool and scored a hat-trick if my memory serves.
Jack Taylor, arguably Englands best ever referee was my wife's butcher in Whitmore Reans, so met him as well.
Obviously, also saw a lot of the visiting greats play and yes George Best was special but then so was, or should have been, Peter Knowles.
Just a few memories that spring to mind, but there are more.

Hi phil
Remember very well as a 12 year old in 1957 listening to Wolves vs Bournemouth in the FA Cup on the radiogram, (there's a word from the past) We lost 1-0, goal post got broken and I was in floods of tears, shed a few tears since. Also vivid memories of looking up at Billy Wright and the team as they received the league title in 1958/59 they didn't mind you invading the pitch on that occasion.

Fantastic posts what I really enjoy reading.
When I was a kid my football team the manager was the brother of an ex wolves fullback I can not remember the surname our manager was Harry and called 'H' and Norman Deeley used to take some training sessions so I guess my managers brother played with Norman Deeley.
My dad used to talk to him so it was all good.

Steve bull was God to me and one time bully was injured or suspended walking around the ground on this particular match day bully was walking straight towards us 10 yards away approaching and my brother and friends said here you are phil say hello and no word of a lie I froze went bright red proper star struck I was.i was only probably 16 or 17.

My fave fa cup game winning on penalties agaisnt Sheffield Wednesday when Waddle missed I had season ticket in South Bank right behind the goal perfect view of the shootout.

Greyleg there was also a kid who played a few games called Paul Butler if I recall correctly, he made his debut under Tommy Docherty I think. Had the crowd thinking we had the next Jimmy Mullen that night against Charlton if I remember, sadly everything was downhill from then on for the player and club.

Phil - As I've mentioned before I became a Wolves fan in 1966/7 when we moved to the area. From a little a kid we supported our local team back then. None of this I live in London so I'm a Man U fan rubbish. So in order teams I check results of are Workington, Lincoln City, Luton Town. Plus Preston my Dads team and I was born there. I am a Warrington Wolves RL fan as well having lived there for 30 years.
So we have moved around but my greatest love is for Wolves by far the longest. Derek Parkin saw his debut signed from Huddersfield I think, same as Coady as well from memory.
I have read a lot of the history of the club over the years.
The match I saw first in the top division was before Wolves. A friends Dad took his son and myself to Spurs v Everton in I think 1964. My memory of it was how great Jimmy Greaves and Alan Gilzean were. I'd take them now if you could wind the clock back. Though I suspect its an unfair comparison as the game is quicker now and players fitter. Though the better pitches may balance that out a bit.
Hope for a win tomorrow.

I saw Parkin play when I was a wee whipper-snapper. Also loved it when Willie Carr passed to him on telly to hear the commentator pronounce the immortal lines 'Carr, Parkin'

I remember seeing us play Barcelona in the European cup in 1959 on TV. Got thrashed over 2 legs 9-2 on aggregate. Remember watching the 1960 cup final, I was so happy that day. 1st live game was in 1962 where we thrashed Man City 8-1. Stood in the old enclosure on a stool my Dad took in for me. It was where they did the live commentary for the blind so you always knew which player was involved.
I played junior football with Geoff Palmer who was a winger in those days and one match we won 15-0. I scored 8 Geoff scored 7. Also played and was mates with Paul Cooper who became a top keeper with Blues and Ipswich, although he played out field in those days. Later attended the EUFA cup final games against Spurs which we unfortunately lost 3-2 over the 2 legs. I always remember seeing Frank Munro on his home debut in the 3-1 defeat against Everton in 1968. He was brought by Ronnie Allen as an inside forward (younger readers may need to look that one up) and not only looked like a duck out of water but I was surprised at what a porker he looked. Thankfully he shed the weight and was converted to Centre Back by Bill McGarry and the rest is history. Finally I feel sorry for all the younger supporters who never got to see the late great Dave Wagstaff the best player ever to grace Molineux (at least since 1960). What would he be worth now?

I also remember sleeping in the Molineaux ally for the cup semi final against Leeds at Maine Road. Got tickets for the 1974 league final quite easily, maybe because I was season ticket holder, can't remember. First game 1958-59, I was 11 went with a friend who was a bit older 12 by train from Redditch

Waggy was next level Kos mel. We did an away weekend starting at Old Trafford on the Saturday, we lost that game but then carried on, 4 of us in a Triumph Herald which we slept in, up to Edinburgh on the Monday night for the first leg of the Texaco Cup final, which we won.
The Scottish lads we stood with (you could back then) couldn't believe what they saw when Waggy turned it on.
For me the ultimate piece of Waggy magic was when he turned 4 Spurs defenders, including Cyril Knowles, inside out and let off a fierce left foot drive (he could hit 'em) into the top corner, a goal all the way and Jennings didn't just get up and tip it over, he caught it.
The whole of the Molineux just rose as one (the seats that is) and the applause for both players was amazing.

Went to first game in 1949 after they won the cup. Remember they carried the cup round the edge of the pitch at half time. Apparently they had nothing to carry it On so they took a door off a room, covered it with a white table cloth and two men carried it round one at each end. Fell in love with Wolves that day as an excited 9 year old. Seen some fantastic players in my time, and some not so good, some of those early games were the best for me. Up the Wolvez.

Love all these memories, mine are not as exciting as I was in East Kent, and there is no footie there. I do remember listening to the radio for some evening games featuring Wolves in the late 50s, which was amazing for me. I saw my first game on TV the 1960 Cup final and there were all the players I had heard about, I was sold. The closest I could get to a real game, apart from Ramsgate Athletic!
