What a totally abject 2nd half performance.

1.) 25 Feb 2024 19:27:59
Wasn’t the greatest if matches granted, but 1 nil or 5 nil it’s still only 3 points, this was a banana skin definitely but we won, onwards and upwards Wolves

2.) 25 Feb 2024 21:05:31
We have struggled against any team we are "expected" to beat since the start of our most recent premier league era - I might be wrong but didn't Huddersfield do the double over us in the year they were relegated? We thrive more against teams who are expansive and come at us.

This is why we have a particularly good record against the top teams in the league who assume they will roll us over. Personally, I think winning a game "ugly" in this manner could herald a first small step towards establishing ourselves as an even more competent outfit than we have been thus far. Keep it up GON and the boys.

3 points.that's all that matters

Totally agree, we've become totally frustrating to watch. They say if you do the same thing over and over and expect a different result you are not going to get very far. Are the players tied so much by GOD'S
Tactics that they are not allowed to
express them selves at all?

Norfolkwolf

1.) 09 Dec 2023 22:14:40
I think even tactics from god some on here would still complain.

2.) 10 Dec 2023 00:08:03
I’m thinking God likes to play a high line. Maybe one up top with plenty of crosses in to the box. First testament would be get it to the wings, but failing that the good old Hail Mary long ball.

3.) 10 Dec 2023 08:34:31
It wasn't our best display by far but everyone's entitled to have an off game, at least we didn't loose, so we move on to next match.
I'm sure we will perform much better

I really am dismayed with players feigning injury, almost every time some players get tackled they are down holding their legs, head, what ever, when looking at the replay most show no or very slight contact has been made, yet their face's show extreme pain, but they are up and running about seconds later.
Did anyone watch Morocco today?towards end of game,Moroccan player gets slight contact on his face goes down holding face then 2 seconds later starts rolling over and over about 6 or 7 times, disgusting that nothing is done to stop this because
It's making me feel that I am falling out of love with the game It's not the only thing, foul throws
rarely punished, goalkeepers keeping the ball for such a long time I can make a cup of tea, have I missed the fact that the rules have changed
Sorry for the rant.

Norfolkwolf

1.) 01 Dec 2022 21:25:43
Just to add to my previous post re japan's 2nd goal, changing the rules has caused this controversy, was it in or out? what does everyone think.

2.) 01 Dec 2022 22:17:42
Sorry Norfolk I haven't watched either game you reference so can't comment on the specific events you mentioned.
However of course you are correct about the wider matters you mention.
I am not so naive to believe that players/teams didn't cheat (in a wide variety of ways) in the 60s and 70s etc but it is now so widespread and covers such a massive range of actions that it is, as I have commented before, hard to believe that it is not a deliberate tactic not just condoned but actually practised by clubs.
The complete failure of refs/authorities to address this is a matter of great shame and is certainly part of the reason that - as I said above - I have hardly watched any of the world cup, including England's game with the US and am now watching far less Prem football as well.

3.) 01 Dec 2022 22:26:33
Not wishing to out-rant you Norfolk but these things are rife in football now, the diving and feigning injury being amongst the worst. The refs fall for it and the commentary pundits delight in talking about 'professional fouls', 'taking one for the team' and 'he should of gone down in the box'. Then there's mobbing the ref and the waving of an imaginary card in an attempt to get players sent off.

Goalkeepers dropping to the ground with the ball for no good reason in the dying minutes of a game is a pet hate of mine and should be stopped.

What I couldn't get my head round was why 6 people in the VAR studio couldn't decide if a player was offside today and referred it back to the ref pitch side for him to decide. Isn't that their job?

Add to this football's version of loyalty and integrity (aka hypocrisy) and you have to wonder.

4.) 01 Dec 2022 23:02:41
As for your comments on Japan's second goal, not really seen it in any great detail. However, I do think too many of the rules in football are open to interpretation and are unnecessarily subjective, even making the use of technology indecisive at times.

5.) 01 Dec 2022 23:14:25
Like you Future, I'm watching less and less, but I will watch my Wolves despite Podence rolling about, suppose that makes me out as a hypocrit.

6.) 02 Dec 2022 09:50:21
Norfolk - absolutely agree and I have commented on it (RAN doesn't impress with his antics either!)
I reckon it must have been a Nuno edict - no cheating - as until Podence and RAN and now others started aping their peers we were probably one of v v v few teams to play reasonably fairly.
It did us no favours though as refs are simply not interested in playing to the rules and have their own agenda.
It is all a disgrace and v disheartening.
Reffing is at an all time low and VAR simply makes it worse.
oh dear feeling v v old!

7.) 02 Dec 2022 11:45:31
Future.can certainly echo your last sentence. Well everything in reality, keep smiling through, as I fear nothing will change, well not for the good of the game.

8.) 02 Dec 2022 11:58:49
I think feigning injury should be retrospectively punished with fines or suspensions. I get sometimes a blow to the ankle or the knee causes a body shock and you need a few seconds to readjust and compose yourself. But there is never a need to roll around holding your leg screaming as if the injury is that bad you won't be moving much. Trying to con the officials into giving free kicks and cards by rolling around is just as bad as diving in my opinion.

The same way as you shouldn't win a penalty. You should be awarded a penalty for a legitimate infringement.

9.) 02 Dec 2022 13:36:14
That phrase alone Alex, 'win a penalty' tells you just how low professional football has fallen.

It just spoils the experience of supporting your team with all these shenanigans going on.

10.) 02 Dec 2022 15:57:29
Agree with you Longmynd, keepers dropping to the ground collecting a simple ball is one of my pet hates. They should be booked for time wasting, Pickford is a good example of this near the end of a game. If players roll around obviously feigning injury they should leave the pitch for treatment and the game carry on without them. Players today think it is part of the game to cheat, diving is actually practised in training.

11.) 02 Dec 2022 16:28:11
One of the good things I like so far at this World Cup is adding time in games. I hope we do likewise in games here should reduce time wasting if they know its pointless.
Rolling around and all forms of cheating should be dealt with retrospectively with bans. Fines won't work, they get paid so much anyway!

12.) 02 Dec 2022 16:58:49
It's good watching Uruguay plus 8 minutes.
Cavana no.penalty.

It's thrilling what a save.
Lol what a climax.

13.) 02 Dec 2022 17:11:24
Ken I liked your sense of humour on feed below George Berry and Jason Lee lol quality mate.

Jason Lee remember the chant he's git a pineeeapple on his head lol.

14.) 02 Dec 2022 18:00:07
Thanks Phil. My sense of humour doesn't always work!

15.) 02 Dec 2022 21:36:47
I agree. The term winning a penalty is just disgusting but is probably an accurate term for the current state.

A statement would be to start booking them. Imagine if the ref today had walked to the VAR monitors today and returned to send off Edison Cavani for his dive. That's what I would like to see.

16.) 03 Dec 2022 05:53:11
With reference to all above it's become part of the game to 'win' or 'draw' a free kick/foul. The rolling around is now part of the theatrics of the game and is reminiscent of 1970s wrestling with mick mcmanus jackie pallow etc being part of the 'show'. VAR seems to have taken the inevitable leap into AVATAR graphics which are suggestive of, rather that clear proof and shown some time after the original decision to minimise critism. 5-6 watching var to decide over something I can see on my old pye black and white valve set would have David Coleman in tangles trying to make sense of it. It's a sad and sorry trend and decline in the game we loved, and it is off-putting. I'm totally in agreement with you Norfolk. Commercialism and imaging bring in the bucks. But, isn't it nice to see the effort and desire put in by the 'lesser' recognised nations. Japan Korea Morocco Senegal even USA good on ya.

17.) 03 Dec 2022 07:29:08
The young lad for Portugal Felix I think he is.
I saw him in game last week terrible the worst I have seen for feigning injury.

I remember watching world cup years ago can't remember who what team or match but remember clearly a player rolling over and over for ages looking for for player to be sent off.
Lol he got up nothing wrong with me ha ha I found that hilarious.

18.) 03 Dec 2022 08:24:20
That was the Brazilian phil, was it naymar? Lineker started off with a 'roll count' this year when a player rolled about 5 times and got up, can't remember who now.

19.) 03 Dec 2022 08:40:41
Nothing wrong with him not me

20.) 03 Dec 2022 09:14:19
Abbey way before Naymar I'm thinking of but yes I do remember naymar the one I'm thinking of he rolled over and over half the length of the pitch.
Ha ha

21.) 03 Dec 2022 09:25:53
Abbey,
Google world cup players rolling around Naymar is on there you correct if click on more videos go on best soccer fake injuries and dives ha ha only watched a bit of it very funny ha ha

22.) 03 Dec 2022 11:41:16

Anyone know the terms and conditions of Joe Hodges contract? ie is there any clause to allow City to buy him back etc?
Only mentioning it because he really impressed me on Saturday.

1.) 13 Oct 2022 09:28:11
How about. Steve bull, and Dave Edwards, taking controll,?????????????

2.) 13 Oct 2022 16:18:30
How about Steve Bull actually playing, we know he'd score more because, let's be honest, he couldn't score less. ???

3.) 13 Oct 2022 16:20:01
Nuno.Nuno.Nuno.anyone think he would comeback

4.) 13 Oct 2022 17:26:51
Longmind your right,he certainly would, sat, win or bust, draw no good tbh

5.) 13 Oct 2022 19:01:51
I love Nuno I really do, best manager I've seen at the Mol in my lifetime. But the very fact he's even been tied to the job is a sad reflection on the way both his career and our prospects have gone! Both parties thought they could do better, turns out both parties were (saddly) wrong! ?

6.) 13 Oct 2022 19:06:05
I also agree with Grey, if we can't win at Forest right now then I'm afraid we are for the drop eitherway! Frankly I suspect it'll take an og or a pen but the crucial part is a clean sheet, cause right now we aren't scoring at all!

7.) 13 Oct 2022 19:22:41
Nuno not sure greyleg.
The widespread talk on here was that Nuno didn't have a plan B.
So not sure how he would do given the players we have in our squad.
He could have a fresh plan A a new identity for us.
Speculation I think but whoever the new manager/head coach is I will get behind and have my own personal fresh new optimism.
Ps if its Lambert to return that would be an exception lol?

8.) 13 Oct 2022 20:09:27
Whoever is appointed should have our support, nuno would have the heart but maybe the old adage of never going back maybe true. We certainly need the optimism tho Phil, it's all abit doom and gloom hanging over the club at the mo. We need a performance against forest one that gives us hope.Lets get behind the lads be it hwang guedes podence whoever as been put up as scapegoats let's cut em some slack, our confidence in support is as essential part of success as theirs on the pitch.COYW

9.) 13 Oct 2022 20:10:21
I will always have a soft spot for Nuno, whatever happens, but not sure he should return, think we need a new direction, hopefully someone in very soon, maybe fosun want a first rate manager, buttreat him like a second rate employee,

10.) 13 Oct 2022 20:49:33
Greyleg did you have a nuno beard?
If so have you shaved it off yet?
Lol
I started to grow a beard but I soon realised I would look like a father Christmas with a band head ?
So it soon went.

11.) 14 Oct 2022 06:19:27
You won't belive this phil but my next door neighbour ( arsenal fan) is a spitting image for nuno. I've never said anything but it was abit weird going out wearing me nuno scarf with his image on it when a lot of people down here didn't know nuno but knew me neighbour, I think they thought we were very close.lol.

12.) 14 Oct 2022 08:54:18
Ha ha quality Abbey mate ??

13.) 14 Oct 2022 10:39:15
?,no beard for me Phil,or long hair anymore, just want us to be competative, and score a few more goals, our captain, should go along the line up,at start of our games, and shout to them, strength and honour, coyw

14.) 14 Oct 2022 10:40:33
Won't be at the match got to work the weekend.

Sorry Rated you don't need a crystal ball or a Mystic Meg we are doing what we always do, as you say, something will happen and we won't know until it's done. Researching rumours will not reveal anything definite. If you can give us a prediction that comes to fruition then I will humbly apologise.

Agree Longmynd, they might make a good profit now, but if you're not in the Premier the cost would be catastrophic in the long term.Notice I didn't use the R word. Along with everything else that's going on in the country it's making me feel very flat, I should be looking forward to the new season but at the moment I'm full of trepidation

Only inside the club the hierarchy know what's going on, anyone who makes statements of things going on behind the scenes are just speculating. Certainly things need to be going on but I am concerned players that we might be interested in could end up elsewhere. We just need to be shown a glimmer of hope to offset the exodus just hope Kilman doesn't become another one.

Yes it's a good offer, but surely you need to have replacements signed,we cannot sell players or loan them out without players coming in just look at the Fabio fiasco, are some people not seeing the potential nightmare situation we could be in.I also think Neves staying isn't nailed on, and I think someone will come in at the death with a cheeky offer for Traore, we need to increase the numbers.
