Surely Wolves wouldn’t set a £44M price for J Gomes for Man U for Jan if we’re trying to build a team under the new manager?
Is this click bait or has Cunha become an agent?

Depends on what Fosuns real aims are Bos. I've long thought they might cash in as it were and leave us in tatters. Maybe get what they can now and sell for what they can get come spring. Who knows but if we sell off the silver in Jan then I Edwards is treading an embarrassing amount of water until we kick off in the championship.
44m is no deterrent for gomez, talk of Arias going home. Andre wouldn't want to stay, what goes through Shi's head anyone knows but he won't tell or let it be known.

Last week I posted that I thought Wolves would only raise £40m for J Gomes because I feared that they were grossly incompetent in the transfer market.
I have just read an article, presumably along the lines of the one that prompted this thread, that stated that Man U will come for him at, to quote "only £44m" as Brighton are pricing their player at over £100m.
Having seen him out play the 2 £100m transfer fee Chelsea CMs for the second time in 3 years last week - the other being the amazing 4-2 win with Lemina! - it is mind boggling that the incompetence is seemingly as real as I feared.
Not only do you have to ask the question of why Wolves sell players so far below where similar or even inferior players are sold by other clubs but more worryingly though what does this mean for the liquidation value of the squad.
If the best player only goes for £40m + what does it say for the rest. Surely many of the far far weaker players - on high salaries and long contracts will have to be paid to go.
Indeed other than Andre are there any players in the squad that will raise over £20m (Sorry JSL's value has fallen somewhat since the Newcastle bid!).
Given that the parachute payment has already been Mortgaged if the sales of the squad only raises pennies net of money that has to be paid to get the high salary but poor players off the books it does leave the finances looking incredibly stretched if the team is relegated at the end of this season.

True or not, this smacks of dirty play by PL teams who turn the heads of key players we need (at crucial times) to focus on the games at hand. Rats leaving the sinking ship?

Respect your opinions future but we were watching different games if you thought Gomes outplayed any Chelsea midfielders in our recent game. I thought it was one of his least effective performances, mainly due to being stuck out on the left side for most of the match. Personally, I wouldn't be averse to seeing one of either Andre or Joao moving on, because they are so similar, IF the funds were going to be reinvested in quality additions.
However, recent history tells us that this just won't happen and it'll almost certainly be frittered away on mediocrity. Hang on to him therefore!

So I posted a while ago about how fosun are bleeding the club out, it’s a poorly managed decline. I do think we will sell players in Jan, if Gomes is one I’m not sure but I’ve read that cuhna is using his friendship with him to pull him to United ( can you blame Gomes though?) now the people that are saying oh when we go down we will have the parachute payments, no we won’t as fosun have taken out a 100 million pound loan against future tv money rights and transfer payments. So that’s the parachute payments gone in one fell swoop. Then I would say 90 percent of our current squad will go, due to a combination of high wages, not wanting to play in the championship or contract expired.
So that means a complete rebuild for the upcoming championship season. Can anyone in their right mind say fosun will spend? Hmm I think not. There is also an interesting article by Stefan Borson the finance expert about how we are close to the psr limits again, now if that’s true the question has to be asked where is the money going? As we are more or less breaking even on transfers so where is all the sky tv/premier league prize money disappearing to?

With respect gents I think you are missing the point a bit. Wolves will accept what they need to balance the books because to hold out for more may delay or cost them the sale which would be a problem with PSR as we spend more than we earn. We have to sell, therefore, and the other clubs know it.
Irrespective of our Premier League status at the end of the season certain players will be sold because that's what has to happen when the owners refuse to chip in.
Great tactics Fosun, save a bit to lose it all.

If they have to sell Gomes fair enough, but 40 mill is a joke. In my mind not a penny below 60.

Jeff Shi has turned us into a penny pinching joke club.

I wouldn't believe Stefan Borson too much. After all, he did say that Wolves would not spend any of the £100m they made from the Ait Nouri and Cunha sales even though they did. And also, very importantly, we must remember that Borson was employed by Man City during the period that is now being investigated. He doesn't strike me as the best person to pass judgement on another clubs finances.

And Borson works for 'Football Insider' which I warned you all about last week!
Ignore any article of theirs which quotes 'Mick Brown' the ex-Man. Utd coach who is 89yo and apparently is 'still well connected in football'! - Really. Who is going to give info' to an 89yo?
As for Joao Gomes being sold for 44m, who makes this crap up?
Websites and journo's just stirring it to make fans reply to their made-up fantasies.
Also, Fosun, IF they are to be believed, have promised Rob Edwards that Gomes will NOT be sold this January and even if he was, his contract lasts until 2029 so a hefty transfer fee would come to Molineux and it wouldn't be for 44m!
Rest easy.

Your argument falls down oap with the line “ if fosun are to be believed”
I wouldn’t trust Jeff and fosun as far as I could throw them

There is something radically wrong if Wolves are once again supposedly close to PSR limits. How do the real criminal clubs keep escaping the financial penalties?
Whatever the outcome, I wish Edwards the best but until Fosun clearout the decline will continue.

Without a doubt BoS Cunha is working hard at trying to get Gomez to join him, which is probably a macheivelios contrived by Amorin who is a devious **** to say the least as he poached Cunha from us when we played them.
Cunha has not got the bottle to survive in the Manchester circle alone so he needs a “buddy” in Gomez.Just hoping Gomez doesn’t join the “play to leave” faction.

Think Gomes and Andre are both desperate to get back into reckoning for the Brazilian World Cup squad so don’t rule out anything in the transfer window unfortunately.
