What does everyone think about a punt on Tiquinho Soares from Porto?
Granted he only transferred to them at the beginning of the year and had a great season but considering the position they're in and the player being signed up with Gestifute, could we pull it off?

Hi all. I know I got shot down the other day (mainly by Bully And probably deservedly) and in retrospect I probably could’ve worded my post differently. That being said I think current events prove my point. Assuming the Jota transfer goes through we’ve lost 2 proven prem players for £50m and replaced them with i) an ageing never was in Marcal and ii) 2 completely unknowns for the best part of £40m. Meanwhile Everton sign James for less than £20m, Arsenal sign Willian for nothing, Tottenham sign Reguilon for £25m. If memory serves Jeff said we wouldn’t sell our best players, we’d only buy players that improve the squad, we’d expand the stadium and we’ll be an elite club. None of that’s going to happen based on the latest activity. I also note that Jeff has all of a sudden made his 10 year plan a 20 year plan. Bully, no offence, I know you ripped my last post and hope I don’t get the same again because we’re all fans but no-one signs a player that’s played jack all for £35m and sells a proven player for the same. Something isn’t right.

Sorry folks, killjoy alert. Not posted for a few years but feel obliged because I think we need to be honest about what’s been promised and what we’re getting because there’s a massive gap to be fair. Now don’t get me wrong, Fosuns investment has been awesome but that being said they’ve waxed lyrical about their ambitions and we need to be truthful. Signings haven’t matched. You don’t become an ‘elite’ club by penny pinching on £15M players. You don’t become an elite club whilst dipping in to the same pond (money wise) as the likes of wba and villa whilst being outshone by Everton. I can’t knock Fosun for what they’ve done to date but it’s utter BS to suggest that they’re aiming for us to be a top end club. To do that every player needs to be 35-40M+. They may have had that in mind a couple of years ago but somethings changed. I see people saying this £10M player or this £7M player or this £15M player is great. Great for what? Premier league survival? Mid table safety? Certainly not European football. And definitely not an honours winning team. I’m happy with mid table safety I’d just prefer fosun to be honest within us rather than blowing smoke up our backsides. Hopefully they sign 4 or 5 £40M plus players and stick FFP up their backsides and live with the short term consequences but can’t see it happening.

He has a contract with Villarreal but I wouldn't say he often plays for them. Predominantly because he's utter crap. But don't worry he picks up cards like stringfellow picks up Essex slappers so he'll be suspended the majority of the time.
I can't understand how a transfer window can start so positively and end up feeling like a car crash.
