I think it is quite a legitimate query, given that you would have used opportunity of tonight’s match to give game time to all first team squad. Jota is the only real first team player not having had a runout. I would question his omission.

Before the season started I feared the worst for the man city game. The Sheff Utd game therefore was a massive 3 points. I didn't like the look of us at the back end of last season (Everton match apart) or after the first 20 mins against sheffield. We are lacking in midfield. Plain and simple.
On the plus side, we do bounce back well, but I do think we're in for a tough season but who knows, a couple of good additions could change everything.

From Nuno's interview it would seem like it was an issue with the jota's pregnancy.

Nuno would have said injured and would have said if he was going.

People forget that Boly is playing out of position and has been shoved there because Saiss can't play there and Bennett fell out of favour. Up until his injury last season he was always on the left side of the 3.

Or do you actually believe that Jotas knee jerk reaction to not being happy with his lack of first team football for us was to then move to one of the strongest squads in the world right now?! A move which will almost certainly see him paid more but playing a bit part role?! Hi all. I know I got shot down the other day (mainly by Bully And probably deservedly) and in retrospect I probably could’ve worded my post differently. That being said I think current events prove my point. Assuming the Jota transfer goes through we’ve lost 2 proven prem players for £50m and replaced them with i) an ageing never was in Marcal and ii) 2 completely unknowns for the best part of £40m. Meanwhile Everton sign James for less than £20m, Arsenal sign Willian for nothing, Tottenham sign Reguilon for £25m. If memory serves Jeff said we wouldn’t sell our best players, we’d only buy players that improve the squad, we’d expand the stadium and we’ll be an elite club. None of that’s going to happen based on the latest activity. I also note that Jeff has all of a sudden made his 10 year plan a 20 year plan. Bully, no offence, I know you ripped my last post and hope I don’t get the same again because we’re all fans but no-one signs a player that’s played jack all for £35m and sells a proven player for the same. Something isn’t right.

Looking at the above post all I would say is your comparing apples and pairs! All three of those players you've mentioned (going to other clubs) will ALL be on HUGE wages, I believe James was on near to £300k a WEEK at Madrid (how much of that Everton are paying lord only knows)!

Ffp would never give us the wiggle room we need to do that I'm afraid. Also not sure Jeff did say we wouldn't sell our best players, I think he said all sales would be on our own terms which I still believe to be the case. For all that said Captain I do agree with you regarding the stadium (and have said so before) .

Its the only part of Fosuns approach that in honesty doesn't add up for me. If we are as long term an invertment as they say I just don't get why they haven't put anything into the stadium yet? I understand the new temporary stand even less.

I suppose as peeps have discussed before essentially its like anything, I trust in Fosun and therefore am not especially worried. It's fine not to be fella but as I keep saying if we are going to judge their work in the transfer window then we need wait till the end of it 👍 COYW 🐺.
