While I agree with most fans adama divided opinion the loan deal seems odd if there is an obligation to buy that's fine but if it's just an option thRs strange business.im also getting g realy peed off with the figures being suggested for our players. Cody 25mill neves 45mill
In comparison maguire 80mill grealish 100mill we need to be asking 60 plus for neves at least

Chris, your right a proper marmite player, the deal is less than ideal, but as with all players they are only worth what someone is willing to pay!
If the price isn't right don't sell.easy. except it not if a player won't renew his contract.
options 1: offer him the world to sign. the demands could be start every game, wages the highest at the club, be made captain take the risk of upsetting all the other key players having them say I want more.
Options 2: an offer comes in that meets your valuation.
option 3: let him go on a free when his contract runs down
option 4: get what you can before he leaves on a free

Looks like we took option 4,

Chris mate I once tweeted i'm tired of the media thinking clubs can just cherry pick our players, we are in good finacial standing and are not desperate for money.

Personally I think this deal ticks every box.
Firstly he is a player who Lage clearly feels is a plan B for the last 20 mins as he hasn’t got he intelligence to understand the system he wants to play. He will have a good opportunity to thrive in Spain where the game is slower and he will stand out more (either earning the £29m from Barcelona or holding his price for someone else). That is a good price for a player that is not in the starting line up even with Hwang and Neto injured!
Secondly, he frees up a space for an extra non homegrown player (which we were struggling with).
Thirdly, we now have a very strong relationship with Barcelona having done a few deals already and helping them with their current financial plight. This I believe will stand is in good stead for the future (possibly with Trincao as I think he will improve and develop into an excellent player).
All in all, it was fun having Adama but ultimately his final disallowed goal contribution summed up his time with us - full of excitement, got me off my feet but in the end left disappointed. Good luck to the lad as he genuinely is a lovely bloke.

People say it's a poor deal for Wolves LT but it's probably part of a growing relationship between us and Barca. They loaned us Trincao without an obligation to buy and I've read today that Wolves probably won't buy him in the Summer.
As things stand we don't know if we will finish up getting Traore back at the end of the season, but I like the try before you buy approach, as I am sure do Barcelona these days.
Personally, not sure there'll be anything more in January but I think the summer may bring some more significant strengthening especially if our ffp pressures reduce.

Not sure what to make of this deal, maybe he just wants out of England for the weather or some other reason, feels he was overlooked at Barcelona and still has something to prove, I really don't know. Clearly Adama never really seemed to establish a permanent starting place in 3.5 seasons with Wolves for whatever reason.

Isn't it amazing how the bleedin' obvious always rears up.Blood money at Newcastle now beginning to show players in their true colours. Van De Beek now going to Everton because Lampard is going to get them moving up the table.

Fosun better start showing some ambition in the summer.or.

SQ have you not understood the FFP punishment we’ve been under at all?
Why do you continue to spout this anti Fosun stuff when they’ve got us further in 5 years than anyone has in the previous 6 decades. The reason they are not splashing tens of millions now is that they’ve done it for three and a half years and have been sanctioned for it.
They have out a business model in place and the future looks very bright for us and on top of that we stand in a great position to push for Europe with Neto, Hwang, Jonny, Mosquera and Boly set to add to the squad shortly.
I read your comments and continually shake my head as you either have no clue or you are continually on a wind up.

Great response Tommo1970. Summed up perfectly. Sadly and annoyingly certain contributors on here are unable to understand this.

Tommo - you understate things. Fosun took us from mid table Championship to the very edge of Champions league in 4 years - one of which was a false start!
However if you look at the accounts you will see that they actually only invested circa £100m over that period- everything else was done on tick or self generated - in addition to the money paid to Morgan (circa £50m) or £25m a year.
Also regardless of FFP it is clear that the £100m was the limit as it seems the Chinese government made it plain to various football club owners that enough was enough - indeed we are one of v few that reamins under Chinese ownership.
So that wasnt Fosun's "fault" either.
However losing Dalyrmple, Thelwell and Nuno was as was appointing Shi who has done a truly appalling job in every single aspect of his role - bar finding Lage ( who appears to be a genius!)
As can be seen from the accounts Shi has totally failed to build the brand despite the succes on the field - our commercial activites revenues still sit miserably in lower mid table!
Also given the acknowledged and fully understood tightness in finances why oh why did he as head of the transfer committee for example pay £30m for Semedo, good player but cf for example Coufal at £5m (better defensively but not as good going forwards) and Lamptey £3m (better both ways?) and on a fraction of the salaries not great value, £9m for Hoever a prospect at best and most spectacularly of all Silva (perhaps a £50m over pay including wages!)
Note we aren't Man U, Chelsea etc where £50m can be written off without blinking but as you note we are a team with serious financial constraints.
We were so close and indeed still are to Champions league football - due to the job done in those first 3 (4) years not any current business plan (if buying Hwang - who can't control the ball with either foot, Trincao who can't kick it with his right - but is v good on his left and a few kids who like most of the other kids we have signed will go out on loan never to be seen again is the plan) but due to the multitude of major errors made by Shi are now in real danger, despite Lage' brilliance of allowing that project to wither on the vine.
So Tommo and Sevlow and others I accept that Fosun did a fabulous job until the summer of 2020 and I am extremely graeteful we are no longer a mid table Championship side but surely no Wolves fan can be happy with Shi's performance over the last 18 months and so many quite reasonably complain even though perhaps it should be clear it is Shi who they are angry with not Fosun, (although they do employ him) in general
