It's obvious that this squad isn't up to the task, the players are sub standard, especially the ones from the days of the previous regime' as I've said previously, I believe there has been too much emphasis put on the academy, to the detriment of the 1st team and club as a whole.

I believe that Danny Baath, even though he wasn't playing today, has been made captain simply because he is a 'local' lad and to validate the outlay on the academy, to justify it if you like and it hasn't paid off. he isn't a captain by any stretch of the imagination, iorfa, he's a joke loan him out or get rid of him, he had the makings of a decent player if his confidence doesn't get destroyed by playing next to such incompetent players.

The back four and the midfield need to be torn up completely and rebuilt'that said'it shouldn't take long as they are so weak they are ready and waiting to fall.

Sack Thelwell on Monday!
The squad that has been assembled under his management is incompetent.
He has allowed Jackett, Zenga, Edwards and probably Lambert to be the scapegoats.
Get rid Jeff, or Fosun may remove you!

2.) 27 Nov 2016 12:29:02
I thought you said sack Lambert then for a minute lol, coffee hasn't kicked in yet.
I agree Thelwell needs to go as soon as possible, I also agree with what others have said Lambert must have a say in future new signings.

3.) 27 Nov 2016 13:15:52
Excellent post, jimmyjones. Couldn't have said it any better myself.

4.) 27 Nov 2016 23:44:56
Foson will buy survival. That will start to happen on Jan 1. Lambert will be working now on who he needs. Several of the current squad will be surplus to requirements and will leave. Proven players required: 2 defenders, 2 creative midfield, 2 goal scorers. don't count on many points between now and January. Keep turning up - no boos, only cheers. let's be the twelfth man!

5.) 29 Nov 2016 11:37:17
With Wigan winning at Huddersfield last night it puts we right in the relegation dog fight and a gap of 4 points to Barnsley means there is a gap being created, we have to start picking up points not excuses and what Dangerous Dave Edwards says and other players in our team who don't perform for us, we Wolves fans have had enough of excuses from these so called footballers we have, who cannot defend, cannot create, and have not got a clue were the net is.
All in All we are in a mess, the team needs a complete change from front to back we are no were good enough, and Thelwell needs to be moved out with other back room staff who sanctioned these silly sighning of rubbish players who would not get in a Sunday works team, the Paul Gladen sighning makes me so angry these sort of sighnings are the problems and until they are corrected by getting shut of the person or persons who were responsible for these sort of sighnings we are going nowhere only relegation which I'm afraid is happening unless Lambert can change it round quickly starting at Q. P. R.
Positives, the fans they turned up in there thousands again to be entertained and were sadly let down big time again, when are we going to learn everything is in place except a team of under performing footballers who ought to be ashamed of there selves.

6.) 29 Nov 2016 19:48:17
Agreed bigwolf. They have no self respect or self esteem. We need players who have both. Are up for the game from the first to last whistle, get stuck in. If there not up to it then bugger off and play somewhere else. There are plenty of players out there that would relish the chance to get on with it!

26 Oct 2016 19:34:32
Just took another look now I've been able to sit down and get over the shock. I think it's a spoof account. thank god for that, I apologise for any panic caused.

1.) 26 Oct 2016 21:04:35
Big Sam the only option.

2.) 26 Oct 2016 22:23:21
I saw that and nearly wet myself lol.

3.) 26 Oct 2016 23:41:44
Pray for Sam! Experience is what we need.

26 Oct 2016 19:27:14
Seen a post on twitter, supposedly official wolves, Ince has been appointed interim boss. Jesus it goes from bad to worse at this club if that pans out to be true, god help us.

There is a rumour that we have placed a 1 MIL bid in for Crouch, expected to be accepted, I think he could do a good job for us personally, hold up play and provide knock on's for Dicko/ Mason'and chip in with a few, bring it on.

jimmyjones

1.) 04 Aug 2016 17:39:41
Agree for a mill it's a no brainer, especially in the championship 👍.

2.) 04 Aug 2016 17:53:47
Possibly. But for work rate alone I would prefer the Icelandic guy. And I hope Zenga gambles on Ennis as I think he could be a real star this season, given the chance, maybe good enough to keep Dicko out of the team when fit.

3.) 04 Aug 2016 18:09:31
Big Dadi? We need a Giant Haystacks to go with him.

4.) 04 Aug 2016 18:14:17
Not a bad player Ennis . pretty quick.

5.) 04 Aug 2016 19:03:27
BBC WM are reporting it now we re expecting to conclude deal shortly 1 million.

6.) 04 Aug 2016 19:03:40
Good God.

A 35 year old.

So much for a new era.

Looks like Fosun are trying to do this on the cheap.

We all know how that will end.

7.) 04 Aug 2016 19:08:00
A 35 year old who hasn't played many games in the last 3 years, great!

8.) 04 Aug 2016 19:10:23
I've been a wolves fan 4 over 50yrs I've seen some fantastic times some good times bad times and some pretty awful times especially over the last 30 odd yrs but this takeover is fantastic 4 us it's the best thing that's happened 2 wolves for a long time under Morgan we was going nowhere but now we can dream of getting 2 the top.

9.) 04 Aug 2016 19:19:02
Crouch have to say that would be good signing for us in championship experience as well just what our young players need and still as goals in him in this division.

10.) 04 Aug 2016 19:20:22
This has no basis in fact just what I consider a really good shout. Chubs Akpon on loan from Arsenal. Remember him last year playing against us for Hull and compared him to Afobe. Both at Arsenal together but Afobe allowed to leave and that night you could see why they are investing in Akpon. Good experience in Championship over last two years and team mates with Iorfa and Hause for England U21 team. Class act and still only 20 so will only improve. Movement off the ball is really impressive as is pace and strength on it.

11.) 04 Aug 2016 23:26:48
35 yrs old or not kevin phillips was still knocking um in at 40.

12.) 05 Aug 2016 01:25:29
Ennis's time will come, this season or not, as long as he has the correct attitude - which he seems to have from the impressions we are getting, he can go as far as he wants, very talented kid. Imo needs a loan at league 1/ 2 level for 3 months at least for regular 1st team games then back to under 21 football till Jan then another loan. Same for Enobakhare.

13.) 05 Aug 2016 09:45:12
Lol dream of getting to the top. afraid that's all we going to be doing is dreaming. these cheapskates.

28 Jul 2016 08:16:10
According to the guess & slur, the supposed signings that were to be unveiled yesterday hit snags, now they are saying one or two might not make it over the line.
Hmm, mendes' having problems convincing his charges' me thinks!

jimmyjones

1.) 28 Jul 2016 08:37:23
No I think they got it wrong in the first place trying to second guess Wolves and got it wrong now trying to back track. I thought they were due in by Friday? Again no inside information just what I've read.

2.) 28 Jul 2016 08:48:05
Hoping there are more than 3 so taking a little longer so they can announce them all together. wishful thinking? :-)

3.) 28 Jul 2016 09:41:28
Could they be waiting for all deals to go thru and announced on pitch on saturday?

4.) 28 Jul 2016 10:46:22
I said the same to a few people not so much on the pitch but I could see them wanting to announce loads at once to make a statement of intention.

5.) 28 Jul 2016 11:23:40
That's what me and a few others have been thinking but I would only expect a parade on the pitch if the player (s) cost more than we've paid for a player before £6.5m (S. Fletcher)

I agree with Darbo, I think E&S are really useless at reporting and either get it wrong or what the like to do most is use 2nd hand info and make it look like it's their work

I would like at least the lower cost players (Costa, Pele, Silvio) to be announced today and then hopefully Pritchard and Bamford followed by Rafa Van Der Vaart, Anderson and Lemaar lmao

Ok I might be getting carried away but just like the takeover I've got a feeling we are going be happy with what we get from now on

I guess we need 3 more defenders too haha.

6.) 28 Jul 2016 11:27:47
Too quiet again.

7.) 28 Jul 2016 11:49:04
It is very quiet are they working on things? Even Twitter has gone deadly silent what am I to do I can't refresh every 20 seconds!

8.) 28 Jul 2016 11:50:02
I think this is the calm before the storm, kenny gone very quiet too. So exciting i'm all out of tsingtao, anywhere doing a gud deal at minute? :)

9.) 28 Jul 2016 12:13:53
George mate try Snow Beer if you can find it. Tsingtao isn't actually Chinese by heritage.

10.) 28 Jul 2016 12:36:25
Thanks armitage, sounds like one to add to my shopping list, tsingtao is just my choice of tipple, discovered it in hong kong on a business trip a few years ago, where does it originate from?

Listen in Lambert'Iorfa&Danny'boy will cost you your job, and possibly wolves our championship status, time for you to bite the bullet and drop them before its too late.

jimmyjones

1.) 22 Jan 2017 07:51:50
must agree jimmy, but on another note their penalty was down right cheating, player knocks it out then starts falling before ikeme touches him

15 Jan 2017 12:14:54
Has anybody seen or heard anything concerning the Billy Wright statue getting damaged yesterday?

jimmyjones

1.) 15 Jan 2017 13:36:11
I've not heard anything Jimmy. But seeing as the Vile fans were the 'other' side of the ground, let's hope it's just a rumour, with no facts behind it

2.) 15 Jan 2017 14:18:50
A car drove into it. Drink driver. Think it was early hours of this morning and not football fan related.

3.) 15 Jan 2017 14:22:13
It was damaged by a drunk driver and is a bit of a mess

4.) 15 Jan 2017 14:32:12
Report in the E&S car ran into it!

5.) 15 Jan 2017 14:35:37
Was a drink driver apparantly collided with the statue, this is according to e+s. will post pic from the article in sightings.

6.) 15 Jan 2017 14:41:43
Drink driving incident I hear.

7.) 15 Jan 2017 14:53:04
Not sure I sent the report to j. j's query re the B. W. statue, but it appears it was a drink-driver hit it. in custody now.

8.) 15 Jan 2017 15:17:41
What an idiot and thank god it wasn't a villa fan fairplay

9.) 15 Jan 2017 18:02:48
At least it was statue he hit and not a person. Statues can be fixed. I'll never understand why people still drink and drive.

10.) 15 Jan 2017 20:03:37
At least Billy is still standing more than the driver cam say

26 Nov 2016 19:27:30
Having calmed down'had a couple of pints and a laugh with friends'all I can say is" that really was even sh***r than I thought it was".

jimmyjones

26 Nov 2016 18:01:47
2 quality centre backs,2 quality midfielders and a striker needed in the next window'just to finish mid table'that was appalling to watch.
What a 'effing mess we are in, this is what happens when you fail to invest in proven talent, not Fosun's fault this goes back for a few seasons, thanks Jez and Steve you did us proud. Not.

jimmyjones

1.) 26 Nov 2016 18:36:51
This lies with the below average recruitment over the last 5 seasons. Need a manager role who controls transfers not a head coach. We're in a worst position now than when we were relegated. In the relegation season we were never turned over as easy as we are now. New back five inc GK and a goal scorer.

2.) 26 Nov 2016 20:54:36
I agree jimmyJ. I would also say when everyone was looking for KJs head, I said be careful about what you wish for. I personally think he would have had to move on at some time but not when fosun came in, it wasn't the right time and if he had stayed we would be in the top half of the league as he knows the championship well.

He is a good honest manager and could have taken us up, probably not beyond though! But he's gone and we are deep in the brown stuff as a result of another bad decision! It's a mess and is going to take time to sort, a lot of time 😉.

Fair comment Darbo'giving long contract renewals to players that have consistently failed to deliver is the main mistake, managers fall out of favour'when they lead a struggling team, but all too often it's mediocre players that are to blame for poor results and performances'why these contracts were handed to the players who have been mentioned on this site before is beyond me, they should have had their contracts ran down.
Midfield is a huge problem for us, saiss and prince must surely have been worth a punt, I doubt they could do any worse than the ones who are currently in the squad.

PT, as good as Costa is'and he's one of the best I've seen in our colours'he isn't going to get us promoted on his own, if the defence and midfield are below par and failing to deal with the same problems and mistakes, game in game out then we aren't going anywhere'as I stated, ideally keep him, and add the quality players to the area's I suggested'if that's not possible use the money from his sale to get the 3or4 players that could give us better quality and hard bitten edge'all over the pitch that's currently missing from the squad.

Might be worth letting him go for that type of wedge'we have Zyro&Graham to come back and they are good quality, solid players, ideal world we could hang on to him, but we still need 2 quality centre backs, a midfielder'if PL doesn't like Saiss and a 15/ 20 goal a seaason striker,25 mil would get 3 at minimum and possibly the 4 at a push.

I should forget about mounting a promotion push next season'relegation is creeping up on us'fast, the fans have been saying for a long time now where the problems are in the team and on the pitch and the people with the hands on the controls have done nothing to remedy the situation'
2 experienced c/ b's
1holding,1 attacking midfielder.
And an effective striker.

Some of those'so called plastic fans will no doubt be true and loyal supporters but because of circumstance'mine being working shifts which includes many weekends' can't justify the outlay on a season ticket, others will have financial constraints to deal with and varying family commitments'i followed the wolves up and down the country while they were in the old fourth'and the mol was a dumphole and you were sharing the stands with litter and rats, are you trying to say I should stay away if I choose to go to this game? even though I and no doubt many others go when we get the chance!
The club needs to grow'success will generate more interest, which in turn gets more people through the turnstiles, if you really want this club to rival clubs like the vile stop being so bloody shallow minded and high handed

I think strengthening the squad is a bit more important than building new stands to be honest, no point having a shiny new stand which could remain empty'if we are flirting with relegation or mid table obscurity season after season, get the stands we already have rocking'then look at further ground development.
