Just a word of caution.
Whilst most of us think that this has been a very productive transfer window we only need to remember the excitement we showed when Fabio, Cutrone, Guedes, Hoever and a few others were signed. They don't all hit the ground running.
I'm hoping that these latest incomings have a bit more going for them.

Don't recall too much excitement about the Hoever deal,Winton,as most were moaning about the Jota sale and he was just a makeweight in the overall transaction.

I'm sure you get my general drift though Old Wolf. But point taken.

Winton - a very sensible point and one for which I will commend you and not castigate as I was for questioning the signings of Fabio, Trincao and Guedes.
However unlike Fabio and Trincao who were unproven albeit highly hyped kids we have in Dawson and Sarabia signed experienced pros. Cunha and Lamina are also far from kids and have performed well at a high level so only Gomes is an unknown.
Most importantly though these are JL siginings not Jeff ones so I do have a lot more confidence that we haven't been taken to the cleaners!

I think Wolves have wasted a mass of money on certain players in recent seasons. Hoever, I still have hope for Fabio, and Semedo is not a £35m player. Now if you look at the overall spend this window (there is a good summary below in this page) I think the recruitment has been a lot more astute in terms.of scouting and fees paid.

I think these JL signings are on a very different level to those you mention Winston all pretty much seasoned pro's who should hit the ground running. Gomes though younger at 21 has over a hundred senior games under his belt so is hardly a novice. I would say with Gomes I would expect it to take a while for him to settle so it will maybe be next season before we see him at his best. Though as future suggests I'd be surprised if it looks like we've been taken to Sketchleys with any of them!

Positivity PLEASE!

Porthminster - for me it is not about positivity but rationality.
If someone does something I don't agree with and which with the benefit of hindsight turns out to be wrong I am not going to be positive about it.
If they do something right, (or at least something I think is right), I will be.
Hence I was/am very negative about the Shi era - which coincided with us going from near the top of the league to rock bottom - but am far more positive about things now that he is no longer in charge of football matters at the club.
However of course I totally understand people who are still cautious and, like Winton, cannot as yet be persuaded that the shortcomings of the past have been entirely eliminated or that going forward all will be well again.

No body can predict the future. We can only place our trust in JL and his team. On paper he is assembling a transitional team and period for us and as portminster asks we should look positively toward it. If however things don't work we can analyse and criticise, but let's be hopeful, let's look forward to a rapid change in our circumstances. Be positive and believe in the team. Jl has the reputation and respect in the 'game', we have every reason to be confident in our future. COYW and more of it.

Debbie if Fabio is worth 36m Semedo's worth 50m just saying!

Evening all . I do think that the players we have bought will massively improve the team and I am confident that we will have enough quality to stay up . With regard to the passing across the back line, I think we have have become too obsessed with trying to do it all the time . I was at Man City and there were so many times that Sa could have thrown the ball out to our full backs or midfielders to get on the front foot and launch a quick counter attack but he seems reluctant to distribute it and holds the ball far too long . Maybe it's his confidence but he has looked a bit "flappy" over the last few games . Still, he's not a bad keeper and has got us a few points through penalty saves this season . I hope when we play Liverpool that we start with the front three who finished the game against city. It's about time we beat the bin dippers in the league . Up the wolves .

If Anthony Gordon is worth £45m then Semedo and Fabio Silva are each worth £100m.

Agree with you, Spider. Playing out from the back is obviously a valid tactic but in order to play out from the back successfully you need to go long on a fair few occasions otherwise you invite a constant press which leads to disasters as occurred at City.

Come off it,Jas. His attitude stinks and he had no loyalty to a sinking ship that he helped build but he's better than those two put together (just my opinion of course). It's a shame Everton didn't appoint Bielsa as I suspect they will have a better chance of avoiding the drop with Dyche in charge and, obviously,we all want those clubs around us in the table to make poor decisions in terms of both player acquisitions and managerial appointments.

@Old Wulf Bielsa doesn't have the time to turn things around or to play his style of kamikaze football. Dyche is the more pragmatic appointment, he knows the league and can work with a tight budget. The squad available to him currently with Everton is much better than the one he had at Burnley (including two of his old players)

Goals, goals and more goals is what Wolves need;I just hope these new signings will provide them. All the teams at the lower end of the table will be trying harder to stay up so Wolves will have to play better them then. let's hope the new signings will gel quickly and get us the goals we need to stay up.

Can see Coady getting dropped then Debs, Keane used to play for Dyche alongside Tarkowski so he may want to resurrect his Burnley "glory days"
